Stopped by on Sunday, 12/31/23 to by some chicken for dinner. It was my last day here before driving back to SoCal. Ordered the following to-go: - 1, 12-piece Chicken = $29.99 TAX = $3.22 TOTAL = $33.21 The chicken here is definitely more expensive than SoCal. I usually go to the one in Pomona, CA and there's a special for the 12-piece chicken for only $20. Chicken was very tasty. Parking can also be tricky and we parked on the streets.

It's been a long while since I stopped into KFC. While running errands and hunger arose, I decided why not? Loved KFC as a kid, especially their original recipe. This time decided to try their other offerings: Mango Habanero Fried Chicken Sandwich, and Chipotle nuggets. Was pleasantly surprised as I actually like the sammie better than the Chick Fil-A, Burger King, and Popeye's versions. Nuggets were solid too. Download their app for coupon specials. I got the chicken sammie for about half the regular cost due to an online special. Service at this location was quick and easy to pickup my online order. Located near the intersection of Park St and Encinal Ave in Alameda

Well, it's been about 3 years, so I guess I will update my review of Alameda's only KFC restaurant. I had a craving for fried chicken, and it was still early enough to hit the KFC drive-thru. I ordered the 4-pc meal combo for about $15, and selected "extra crispy." You can't really mess up the sides because there's no choice. The 4-pc meal comes with a biscuit, mash & gravy, and a soda. The biscuit and mashed potatoes were so-so. But the fried chicken was fresh and juicy. The breast was as big as my hand. I also had 2 drums and a wing section. FYI: The wing section w/ little drumstick is considered white meat. My soda didn't have enough ice, and the drink wasn't cold. The problem with my KFC experience on April 28, had to do with how they operate their drive-thru. The Alameda KFC has a small parking lot and narrow drive-thru. What they did was....they park cars after you pay. Usually, you order, pay, and then get your order. At KFC, you order, pay, and then wait in the parking lot. I had to park in a delivery driver space, up against a blue handicap zone. The parking lot is too small, hard to maneuver in, and only has one driveway (in and out). Geez, the reason why I used the drive-thru was to avoid parking in your lot! Next time, I'm parking in the street and then wait outside the door for my order.

    Coupon they did not accept

The cashier did not know how to use the POS system to choose drumsticks only so they said the coupon which expires on September 30th 2024 was already expired on September 29th. They were extremely rude and disrespectful. I recommend going to KFC in Oakland instead, they are nice and understanding.

Tuesday app or online deal - 8 piece bucket (4 drumsticks & 4 thighs) for $10

I saw that KFC had a Tuesday special online or app deal for an 8 piece bucket (4 drumsticks & 4 thighs) for just $10. Crazy to see that the menu price was over $24. I was able to order online for pickup and within 10 minutes of arriving, my order was ready. The chicken was warm and good but it was a little dry and maybe lacked some flavor. I chose the original recipe and it tasted like regular fried chicken that I get at Safeway. I'm just glad the chicken was fully cooked. The last time I had KFC, there were some chicken pieces that weren't cooked properly and the inside were raw. This is a small location with only a couple of tables inside. It seems like most people just take their food to go. I was surprised to see that there was a drive thru. They have a parking lot but parking is extremely limited.

    DONUT - $1 - hot n fresh!!!

WHEN: Monday @5:30pm I came by Saturday night only to learn they close an hour early because of COVID-19: 9pm, not 10pm. I hope they update this on Yelp. So I came back Monday on a whim because I really wanted to try their french fries: SECRET RECIPE FRIES - $4.99 (Large) This was SO good. It's like their Potato Wedges, but less starchy, and the flavors are so much better. It tasted like it was "Fried Chicken" flavored! It was so fresh, hot, and crispy! There's a lot in this container. Seeing that they've been serving donuts as the buns to their fried chicken sandwiches, I decided I wanted to just try their donuts as well: DONUT - $1 This was made fresh! It was so warm, and had a lot of icing on it. I was so happy and impressed. After ordering, I was told that I will have to wait 4 minutes for my order to be ready. This was music to my ears because that meant my food is made to order. YES!!! Pulling up to the payment window, I appreciated that the staff had both their masks and gloves on, and they were playing some good jams inside. After payment, they nicely asked that I wait in the parking spot marked "Curbside Pickup". I didn't wait too long until my food came out...all very hot! By the time I got home, my Secret Recipe Fries and Donut were hot, and yes, that was my dinner. Dinner for both my partner and I actually. It's okay it was Monday. Dare I say it, but I may have just found my new favorite donut shop (c'mon they serve donuts at night!).

Large Popcorn chicken and a fried ($11) not worth it, very small size

I'm an OG (74 years old) who is a bit slow in ordering something to eat by way of using a mobile device. Modern technology. Ugh! LOL. After a few times trying to redeem this gift card, I finally got the hang of how to order something using the door dash app. My first time using door dash was yesterday. I decided on Fire Wings at the suggestion of my roommate. I have never had their wings. I did see an ad on Facebook, where a blogger recommended Fire Wings. Delivery was on time except I put down the wrong address. The delivery guy eventually found me, waiting in my driveway. Eats: 10-pc. chicken wings (flats) and garlic noodles. Wow! Reviewing and perusing the menu took me a while to decide what my roommate and I wanted. Okay, we ordered a 5-pc. lemon pepper and a 5-pc. Peking. The lemon pepper wings were salty. However, the Peking ones were very tasty with a sweet cherry glaze. It reminded me of Peking spareribs. Garlic noodles were on point, absolutely delicious - thick noodles seasoned with butter and plenty of garlic. Yummy! The next time I want something from Fire Wings I will visit the brick and mortar. Overall rating 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars.

The staff was cordial and friendly, and the chicken-themed decor, charming. Now it IS a chicken joint, the go-to chicken spot for my full carnivore friend. He loves them for their chicken, their inexpensive menu and their large portions. I'm mostly pescatarian, though I do sometimes cheat with bacon. (I always feel SO guilty afterwards too!) I ordered the honey mustard salad with bacon and no chicken. My friend ordered the chicken Mac n cheese and tater tots. The bill came up to $30, and the portions were good on on the salad, GREAT on the tater tots and decent on the chicken mac. I can't speak personally on the chicken but my friend says it's amazing. I tasted some of his Mac n cheese with no chicken, and it was really good and flavorful, nice and cheesy. I tasted his tater tots. They were plentiful, well-seasoned and fried to golden perfection, with a nice crunch. I ate all of my salad. My friend couldn't finish his chicken Mac or his tater tots and was happy to be able to take them to go for another meal. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place.

The fries were decent, but likely just some standard frozen fries. The ranch was also really good, but $.50 each small sized cup. My biggest gripe was the service and the state of the restaurant. In the booth we sat in there was an electrical outlet is hanging out of the wall and the booths are in need of cleaning. We had to use the bathroom, and the soap was out. The staff member brought a new one, but didn't know how to install it so it just sat on top of paper towels. Not a huge deal but bruh, figure it out. The guy was nice enough, but just sat and watched his phone when no one was at counter. There was also another guy, maybe from the kitchen (?) hanging out behind the counter sometimes as well. All while tables needed wiping, the bus tub was FULL with dishes, or either of them could have tried to get the soap installed. If there was no one at counter or food to cook it was stand around and stare at our phones. It's just sad Just a subpar experience for as much as food costs these days. Train the staff to stay busy and know how to bus tables and clean. And if you ever order the BLT chicken sandwich make sure to ask for no BBQ sauce. Yuk.

The Thai iced coffee was delicious and strong! As it should be. It did give me the jitters though because I'm a weak sauce. We were a party of ten and I was able to make rezzies via phone for a Friday evening at 6:30pm no problem about a week beforehand. The kiddos ordered à la carte, and five of us adults had the following: - BMV ultimate papaya platter with Lao sausage, angel wings and crispy pork. Crispy pork was legit, papaya salad definitely had that extra funk. The angel wings were crispy and meaty and my friends loved the Lao sausage. One even said "it's like tom yum soup in a sausage". It was very lemongrass forward which is not my thing, but that's my problem. I feel we could have ordered à la carte and that would have been a better deal than $75 for the platter. Some of it was fluff like the cabbage, rice and pork rinds. - Khao soy soup: Fiancé thought it would be creamy and coconut-y like the Thai version but it wasn't. I did enjoy the flat noodles but they were all stuck together. - Pia pla ka pow (fish with basil): Good one. The fish was moist and flavorful. The veggies were al dente and delicious too. - Sakoo: Unique! I enjoyed the chewy mochi exterior and the savory ground pork filling. It needed a sauce. I just used the chili sauce that was on the party platter. - Laab Gai: This fell flat for me. I'm not a huge fan of organs though. - Nam khao fried rice: One of our favorites! The crispy pieces really made this dish. Would definitely order this again. - Mango sticky rice: Served warm. Very sweet mango! - Purple rice with egg custard: Also served warm. This was ok. - Side of rice: HUGE serving! Unfortunately it was clumpy and hard, which means old. Street parking only. Get the nam khao and mango sticky rice!
