What can I say about In N Out that hasn't been said already? I love their fresh and tasty burgers and their squishy fries. Dining in feels like a throwback to the 50s. Where else can you feed four for under $35?

We flew in late to the Oakland Airport and were staying at a hotel in Alameda. It's 10:30pm what could possibly be open - In-n-Out! Always dependable and delicious wherever you go. We ordered two Cheeseburgers with grilled onions. ($4.40 ea) How are these still so cheap? Chocolate shake for my husband and Vanilla shake for me. ($3.10 ea) No fries because we don't like In-n-Out fries. The only way I can eat them is animal style and that seemed a little much this late at night. When we used to live in Fullerton we would drive thru the In-n-out for burgers and then McDonald's across the street for fries. Best of both worlds. These burgers and shakes really hit the spot. We definitely felt like we were on vacation!

Since I moved away, in n out has a choice to include when I visit CA. It is still the same. I was trying to Order light medium fries, I got light fries. It was not bad but I would prefer cooked potato and crispy fried. Burger is the still the same but the price is higher. $7 for burger and fries, that is a cheap lunch. I do like the pickle chilies and grilled onions. The line was not too bad. The drive thru line is long. Service was good. They responded to requests like more spread or more pickle chilies.

Cannot go wrong!! Always long lines (duh) but this location gets it going real fast. Only downside is small parking lot but people come and go quickly . One of the best locations I've gone to just bc they always get my order perfectly.

Although prices have rose quite a lot in the past few years, the food is still always tasting fresh, employees are always friendly, and service is quick

Great food, great prices. love. DELICIOUS burgers and shakes. the drive through line can be soooo long. parking lot is very full and kinda hard to find a spot.

Classic West Coast burger experience! The Alameda In-N-Out delivers everything you expect -- fresh, juicy burgers, crispy fries, and friendly, fast service. Love that you can customize with their "secret menu" options like Animal Style fries or protein-style burgers.

This California institution has so much hype around it, especially when compared to giants like Shake Shack. I tried it a decade ago and fell in love so this was on my "must" list for the Bay Area when I returned this time. Also of note, people say you have to order the "correct way" in order to get the best, which is a bit annoying since if you don't know, you can't know. I was correct in getting an animal style cheeseburger, but was told I needed to do extra everything, chopped chilis, and chopped banana peppers (if that's my fancy). Even without these extras, the burger was unarguably, good, and more affordable than Shake Shack. For the price of my entire meal (shake, fries, burger), I would have just barely been able to pay for one single Shake Shack burger, so for value alone, In N Out is better. However, the fries were utter trash and not fried thoroughly enough, and getting them animal style was a huge mistake. I was told you should get them "well done", which doesn't make sense to me - why not just do fries correctly the first time? As for the shake, I got the Neapolitan (strawberry, chocolate, vanilla mix) which was suggested, but couldn't really distinguish any of the flavours, so I didn't feel like it was worth the calories. All in all, I'm come again, but only for the burger and to try the fries well done. I think It'd still pay premium to have Shake Shack, though, if I'm being honest.

Hair in the burger; also found hair in animal fries couple mins before this.
    Leina N.

Went here around 12am Thursday night, basically Friday. We ordered two burgers, a drink, and an order of animal fries. Food is good, but the problem was that I found a long hair in my animal fries. Couple mins later my boyfriend found another long hair in his freaking burger. We get it, stuff happens sometimes but it's gross to have to pull out a long hair from your mouth, and definitely not cool to have happened twice in one meal.

despite extra toppings, seemed like a normal amount

Honestly, the food is what you're expect, consistent and solid for the price. The only gripe I have with this In-N-Out comparative to others is for some reason it felt unclean. It could have just been this particular day since it seemed like the staff was short staffed but since it was a Mon and there wasn't a line out into the main street and not that many people dining inside it felt off that there were no napkins, the condiments were out, and almost all the tables/seats had some dried sauce on it I definitely believe there should have been some level of cleanliness but since I'm not going to In-N-Out often especially on a Mon night it could have just been this particular day since every time I pass by this location there's a crowd inside and insane line outside so could be an outlier of an experience

    Elaine C.

I'm generally not a fan of fast food, but even I will crave In-N-Out sometimes. As someone from the East Coast, this chain deserves the hype it gets.

Poorly assembled burger and a toasted bun that I didn't ask for.
    Damario H.

I usually have a solid experience here, but this visit was disappointing. When I got home, the burger was poorly assembled and didn't look fresh. The bun was overly toasted, I didn't even ask for a toasted bun the patty seemed dry and smaller than expected, and the overall presentation was sloppy. Hoping this was just an off night, but definitely not the standard I'm used to.

Like most In and Out locations, this spot is almost always packed, especially during peak hours. The drive-thru line can get crazy long, and the parking lot is small and tough to navigate when traffic spills out. So be prepared for a wait or plan ahead. That said, the food is as good as ever, consistently fresh and delicious. The employees are always friendly. My go-to order is a double double with both grilled and whole onions, extra lettuce and tomato, and well-done fries. The fries are my favorite part. They're cut fresh from real potatoes right in front of you, and you can really taste the difference. Nothing frozen here. In and Out has a famously simple menu, but they've mastered what they do. There's also a "secret menu" you can look up online for extra customization. Their shakes are great too, thick, creamy, and made with real ice cream. I usually go for a strawberry-vanilla combo. Inflation is everywhere now and In and Out is not an exception unfortunately. At $6.25 for a double double and $2.45 for fries, it's still a good deal though. I'm always full and satisfied.

Fowl + Fare operates from a small storefront right next to the Shanvi Indian Grocery store on Santa Clara Ave (near Broadway). This place is either takeout or eat outside on picnic tables. I took my food to-go. I had the Citric Hot Chicken Sandwich w/ Seasoned Fries. I liked the Citric Hot Chicken Sandwich. It was spicy, but not numbing hot. The slaw sort of smoothed out the spicy heat. It's made from thigh meat, so it's moist and easy to eat. I didn't like the seasoned fries. They cut the potatoes into thin fries that don't travel well as takeout. Probably okay if you ate them right there, fresh from the kitchen. If I go back, I'm just getting a sandwich.....no fries.

We walked in without a reservation and were seated quickly. There was plenty of seating outside and a few tables inside; we chose inside. The atmosphere was lively but never loud! Everyone around us looked genuinely happy to be there. Service was a standout. Our waiter was attentive, fast, kind, and offered great recommendations without being pushy. Exactly what you want. Food: We started with the Corn Fritters and the Smashed Potatoes, both scrumptious, but the Corn Fritters were exceptional. Both came out hot, fast, and in generous portions. For our mains, we shared the Fried Chicken Sando and the Three Little Pigs. The Chicken Sando was phenomenal! I have not stopped thinking about it. The bun was warm, buttery, and soft, and the chicken was perfectly moist. On the Three Little Pigs tray, the pork shoulder was the clear winner: moist, beautifully seasoned, with just the right amount of fat. Really well done. The one letdown: the sausages and ribs on the Three Little Pigs tray were unfortunately quite dry, which was disappointing given how strong the rest of the meal was. The BBQ sauce was just okay, and the accompanying green salsa wasn't our style. Our bill came to $112 before tip; two appetizers, two mains, and an Arnold Palmer, which felt completely fair for the quality and portion sizes. We left stuffed and with a ton of leftovers. We will absolutely be back. Thank you, Spinning Bones, for making a special night even more memorable.

Tl;dr - A true beer garden ala Texas/Midwest, with the food, beer, and relaxed summer vibes you all…read moredream of. There's something for the whole family aside from some truly tasty beers. I've been coming here for awhile, ever since one fine afternoon I was in town on business and was feeling a need for craft beer. I was once the world's predominant authority on craft beer in my own mind, but years of chugging ales have decimated my tolerance for it. Anywho, the first thing you'll notice about this spot is it's out there, pretty far off from downtown Alameda tucked away in an old military pier alongside some other more enterprising establishments. Lots of parking so there's that. Inside, they are definitely doing that thang, massive brewery stacks dominate the background but the space is massive so it supports an almost endless amount of tables, benches, and spots to hide out. Arcade machines, outdoor activities (even a kids sandbox) really add the "Adventureland" elements that make it more than just a standard brew joint. If you've had their beer, it's definitely on the expensive side, but they keep a healthy variety that I would say is all reliably refined and delicious. Its no 2000 era Bells or modern day Founders, but I particularly like their love hazy and the Mexican style lagers. My friends who like sours say they are also quite good. Although this place is really not directly affiliated with the business it's definitely a reason I go so I can't leave it out -- they have food trucks outside that handle most of the food there and the one they have there always has one of the best burgers I've ever had in the bay, hands down. It's a blackened blueberry and blue cheese burger and even though I don't like blue cheese, this unholy alliance is faaaaaaan-friggin-tastic. Must try. Service is casual, they do flights which is a great way to try things. Not sure about any happy hours, would love to see them get a mug/growler thing going here for discounts, they might have something already I'm just not aware of but nothing is obvious when I've gone. It's a great spot to kick it with some friends on a nice day or late afternoon, having a few beers and relaxing. California doesn't really do the beer garden thing like we do in the Midwest, you'll find spots like this all over Michigan so it's nice to see something of the same type here finally. I believe dogs are allowed too ala Texas vibes, but not 100% on that so I'd check ahead of time. Personally, I cannot stand seeing dogs at restaurants and bars so even if they do allow it, those aren't your kids, can we start reporting places that allow dogs without signage? If I brought a raccoon in on a leash would you be fine with that? It's a sanitation issue. Anyways, I digress, if you like beer, you like fun, and you like damn fine burgers, this is the best spot on the other side of the pond. 'nuff said.
