Picked up a whole bird at the North Berkeley Farmer's Market for $20. Such a fun food truck idea - they are legit roasting those birds right there and then making it so fresh! You could smell them roasting a mile away - with that beautiful glistening brown skin. There was a subtle brine and really well cooked. Great packaging with reheat instructions. Wish that bird was organic tho - or maybe options for the organic upgrade? They also had a full menu of chicken sandwiches. I didn't partake but they looked interesting. Regardless, bird, bird, bird, bird's the word. A great option for some juicy chicken!

Ribs & Roasted Potatoes - Large

I recently saw their food truck at the Martinez Kaiser and decided to try the ribs($16) with large potatoes($5). I was really excited to try the ribs and my husband wanted the potatoes. We only got one meal to share before heading home. The texture on the ribs was good, but to us it was missing some kind of bark to give it just a bit more of a firmer texture and they also lacked flavor. We got the hot sauce to go with the ribs but that also didn't add much more flavor to the ribs just a small hint of spice. The potatoes were ok, nicely roasted, seasoned and tasted good with the hot sauce but a bit dry and not very tender. I didn't feel like the hot sauce was too spicy, reminded me more of a tomatillo salsa. To me it wasn't anything I would crave and need to get again. It tasted good for being at the right place right time but not something I would go searching to eat again or pick over other options.

3.5 stars Better experience this time getting the chicken. It was moist, flavorful, and slightly crisp skin. Nice and hot, right off the rotisserie. Broccoli was kinda cold though.

Very happy to see this truck at a local food trucks event. The chicken is tasty and moist! I ordered a whole bird and it was very good. I didn't realize they had ribs and pork loin too. I will plan to grab those next time I see them. It would be great if they had pairing sauces available to serve with the meats. I had some Peruvian sauces at home so it worked.

tried roadside rotisserie at work recently at their food truck and it was such a fun experience since ive never seen a food truck with all the rotisserie chicken still rotating on the rack. though i was very tempted to try their chicken i decided very last minute that i wanted to get their ribs instead. in which i did like but i felt like their flavor/seasoning wasn't as strong but i felt like the spicy tomatillo sauce really added to it. as for my sides i tried the kale salad in which i also felt like i expected more flavors/seasoning but also didn't really taste the lemon garlic vinaigrette. definitely wish i got the roasted potatoes and chicken to try too! tips: - they are very generous with their portion - i really like their spicy tomatillo sauce - service was quick and friendly - food menu is perfect for all ages!

My toddler and I were out for the day, just the two of us. We started our morning seeing the Irish dancers at the Waterlight Plaza and then wandered over to the Walnut Creek Farmer's Market (Sunday mornings). At the Market, I spotted the Roadside Rotisserie which caught my eye. They were roastingleftover chicken on the side of the truck, and I spotted the roasted potatoes sitting under the rows of chickens, just like on the streets of Paris. Yum! I thought this would be a nice treat to share with my son as he loves potatoes too. It was $2 for a small or $4 for a large, so I figured I'd get the large size To my surprise, the large was gigantic! This has to be one of the best deals in the Bay. My son and I had a generous amount, but there was still so much left over, so I drove it home to put the fridge. on-siteWe shared it the next day with our lunch and it crisped up nicely in our air fryer. The only caveat is it wasn't as tasty as roasted potatoes in Peru or France that are done under the rotisserie chickens. Although they were seasoned with rosemary, these definitely needed more seasoning and salt. Thankfully, by chance, I had a little packet of salt in my purse with me which helped. The next day at home, I served them with dipping sauce and it was even better. Dollar for dollar though, I'd get them again. It's a fantastic side dish, but I would bring them home vs eating on site, so I could decorate them with more seasoning and dipping sauces. There also isn't anywhere to sit and enjoy them at the farmer's market in downtown Walnut Creek,

Good eye appeal, look at all those rotating chicken

Mobile Food Truck with a giant Foam Chicken on top. They have great eye-appeal and crowds thanks to the truck design, uniforms, and rows and rows of meat turning slowly dripping fat down onto vegetables underneath. Unfortunately the food was not that good. We tried the ribs and the rotisserie chicken. Both were overcooked to the point of being dry and hard. Grocery store and Costco rotisserie chicken is much better. Some bites of the ribs had a good porky taste but other ones were too dry. The broccoli and cauliflower were so hard we threw it away after trying very hard to eat it. It did smell good though from all the drippings.

We were driving and noticed this little Roadside Rotisserie truck, literally! So we decided to stop. It was parked inside an seniors facility center. We ordered the baby back ribs and the pork loin combo. Baby back ribs were a la carte, not very juicy, a little dry. The pork loin was very flavorful but a little dry as well. The potatoes looked very seasoned, but they were bland. Maybe if they had some kind of sauce it would be better. Would I come back? Yes. Maybe the time of day I came was bad. I recommend just for people to say they got a rotisserie chicken off the street! Staff was friendly and efficient.

Great bang for your buck. ~$17 for half a bird and potatoes/Brussels sprouts that for me serves as lunch and dinner I've always thought of switching it up and trying their other meats... but their chicken is just too good to risk it

The staff was cordial and friendly, and the chicken-themed decor, charming. Now it IS a chicken joint, the go-to chicken spot for my full carnivore friend. He loves them for their chicken, their inexpensive menu and their large portions. I'm mostly pescatarian, though I do sometimes cheat with bacon. (I always feel SO guilty afterwards too!) I ordered the honey mustard salad with bacon and no chicken. My friend ordered the chicken Mac n cheese and tater tots. The bill came up to $30, and the portions were good on on the salad, GREAT on the tater tots and decent on the chicken mac. I can't speak personally on the chicken but my friend says it's amazing. I tasted some of his Mac n cheese with no chicken, and it was really good and flavorful, nice and cheesy. I tasted his tater tots. They were plentiful, well-seasoned and fried to golden perfection, with a nice crunch. I ate all of my salad. My friend couldn't finish his chicken Mac or his tater tots and was happy to be able to take them to go for another meal. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place.

The fries were decent, but likely just some standard frozen fries. The ranch was also really good, but $.50 each small sized cup. My biggest gripe was the service and the state of the restaurant. In the booth we sat in there was an electrical outlet is hanging out of the wall and the booths are in need of cleaning. We had to use the bathroom, and the soap was out. The staff member brought a new one, but didn't know how to install it so it just sat on top of paper towels. Not a huge deal but bruh, figure it out. The guy was nice enough, but just sat and watched his phone when no one was at counter. There was also another guy, maybe from the kitchen (?) hanging out behind the counter sometimes as well. All while tables needed wiping, the bus tub was FULL with dishes, or either of them could have tried to get the soap installed. If there was no one at counter or food to cook it was stand around and stare at our phones. It's just sad Just a subpar experience for as much as food costs these days. Train the staff to stay busy and know how to bus tables and clean. And if you ever order the BLT chicken sandwich make sure to ask for no BBQ sauce. Yuk.

Even better, the vanilla ice cream they serve from the case in front was arguably one of the best I've ever had. The people behind the counter are consistently courteous, and willing to make clarifications about the food when needed. There was, at one point in recent memory, a woman working here who was absolutely the sweetest. Her warm, gentle demeanor made the place seem all the more inviting. The space is a big plus plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, making it comfortable and very kid-friendly. It's a great spot to hang out without feeling cramped. On weekends, there's also a BBQ spot next door that I was told is a must-try. Apparently it always has a line down the street and sells out, so the wait is definitely part of the experience and worth it if you've got the time. Didn't get a chance to try the gelato this time, but it looked amazing definitely on the list for next visit. Overall, really solid food and a chill atmosphere. Would definitely come back.

I was in the area looking to grab a bite before heading to Southie to catch the Hawks manhandle the Niners. As usual, the restaurant that I always look to forward to visiting is Hummus Republic. Once I found some parking around the corner, I was happily skipping down the block towards the entrance, until... The place was dark, and no one was inside. I had to do a double take to make sure it wasn't one of the scheduled closed days. Sure enough, it was not. There was also no signage on the window or any mention of a vacation or emergency. It was just... closed. As I looked inside, I noticed some furniture and decor had already been removed, so I knew it was beyond the point of no return. In any event, it is indeed a dark time for me, as I frequented Hummus Republic quite often. Yes, I know it is a chain, but the nearest one that I know of now is all the way in Livermore near the outlets. Honestly, it's not completely a shock though, as this particular location was often empty, and I also heard that rent is quite high. There are also alternative Mediterranean shops in the vicinity, such as Tahina and Q's, but none of them combine the level of freshness, convenience and overall value as Hummus Republic. Although it's a lazy comparison used a zillion times before, just think of Hummus Republic as the Chipotle of Mediterranean fare. Depending on who you get serving you, portions can range from large to absolutely gargantuan. It's no exaggeration when I say that a single bowl serving is pretty much enough for both lunch and dinner. Coming from a pig like yours truly, that is saying a lot! Sadly, this exact address also seems to have a high turnover rate, as I have seen a myriad of various businesses sprout up there in recent years. Hopefully the next tenant will provide something to fill the inevitable void. RIP Hummus Republic! You will be sorely missed! The only thing that improved my mood after witnessing this sad news was watching the Hawks absolutely mollywhop the Niners. :‑D

The garlic noodles were flavorful but a little too oily for my taste, pork was dry. The beef skewers were good, but the Lao sausages were definitely my favorite part of the meal. They were delicious, especially with the crack sauce that came with them! The biggest disappointment for me was the papaya salad. I absolutely love papaya salad and will travel pretty far to find a good one, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, the flavor just wasn't for me. I noticed they use lime juice rather than fresh limes, and I personally really don't enjoy the taste of bottled lime juice in papaya salad. The location also made the experience a little difficult. There isn't a parking lot, and street parking is very limited on a busy street/intersection. I ended up having to wait in my car because finding parking nearby was so difficult.
