I had a disappointing visit to the KFC on Westnedge in Portage. I waited in the drive-thru for about five minutes, with no one responding, while multiple cars piled up behind me. I went inside and found eight other customers waiting around, unacknowledged. After some time, an employee only called out a specific order name for pickup. I told them I was just there to order food, and they told me it'd be 45 minutes to two hours because they were swamped with other orders. No one apologized for the lack of communication. I understand being busy, but some acknowledgment--like a sign or a simple heads-up--would have gone a long way. Sadly, I had to leave without ordering. I hope they improve their customer communication and service for others. read more

A pretty typical experience with a fast food store and the Kalamazoo area. This happens more than I like to think. KFC on westnedge is the worst. Went there for their Tuesday special of 8piece dark meat for $10 and was willing to wait 30 minutes for it. Girl didn't ask if I wanted regular or crispy so I went back up and requested crispy, she said ok and then said they do have crispy and could make my order. Got home with 4 breasts, 2 wings and 2 legs. I don't like white meat so took it back to the store. Cashier said they don't refund so I asked for manager. Snotty little punk comes out and said I was told they only had white meat left. That they were telling people that all day. Well the cashier didn't say anything and he wasn't there. I would have left if they only had white meat. They do have a sign that there are no refunds because they guarantee your order is correct. But they couldn't correct it because they did have the chicken. They were both hollering that I was told and I kept saying u wasn't. Called their customer service to complain and they are sending me a $10 voucher but not going back there again. I called back and said I wanted a refund. If you want fried chicken from a fast food place, KFC is a good spot. I mean if you want top of the line fried chicken go to a dine in restaurant, but it'll also be more expensive and not an idle option for some. Yeah it's greasy and such because it's fast food and it's fried chicken. I've come to this location for some years now. I was treated poorly and overcharged (up charged per their term), but when I ordered I asked if the cost would be the same and no extra cost if I ordered legs vs. wings? I knew stopping here was a bad idea but the food came out in edible. The chicken was burn on the outside, terribly old on the inside and it stinks. The biscuit was a hockey puck, mash was old with separated gravy. Mac and cheese just horrible. I felt bad for the guy working cause I think he was alone and trying his best. The service was terrible!!! My chicken was sitting under a heat lamp the chicken was dried out and burnt!! For $20.00 fill up I am very mad and disappointed with KFC!!! Called on the phone gave me a quote $20 fill up box 8pc chicken sides and rolls. Got there asking for the $20 fill up box. They said $27. We told them we just called and was quoted $20. They said $27 can't change register. The girl in back lied and said she didn't say $20. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Today was my last visit to KFC. All of them, not just this one. The chicken pieces aren't even identifiable. The coating was soggy (some looked like it had been torn off) and the fries were dry. I threw most of my meal away. The only reason I went here is because another local chicken restaurant was closed. Oh I also tried the new chicken sandwich a couple weeks ago and it was a big thick piece of chewy something.
