Poor visit this time! They seemed to have a lot of employees, but only a few of them seemed to be aware of what they should be doing. Ladies' room needed the floor mopped for certain. There were no paper towels in the dispenser. Coming out of the restroom wing, the dispenser for hand sanitizer was empty. Then, to ordering , four employees ignored us standing waiting to order. Two were cooking, but I don't know what the others were doing. One even stopped to take a drink but still didn't acknowledge us. We were the only customers inside the dining room at the time. It was the woman handling the drive-thru window who finally came to take our order, while the rest of the crew seemed to dither around. We went to take a seat, and 2/3 of the tables in the dining room needed to be wiped down, and the floor needed to be swept, but the team wasn't paying attention. It wasn't impressive. The food was also so-so, especially the biscuits, which I look forward to - not very warm or fresh. Cole slaw was soupy; too much liquid. The "Honey Sauce" is mostly high fructose corn syrup. Sigh. Just underwhelming on pretty much all fronts. Should the GM happen to read this report, I would hope that they would plan on spending more time at the restaurant to polish up the product and service they're offering to the traveling public. read more

The worst fastfood I have ever received. Cold stale fries, cold dried out mac n cheese, chicken sandwich was missing the pickles and cold. The worst part though was the pot pies (two of them). Together they didn't have enough filling to make one pot pie. Over an inch of tin showing when pulling back the sunken in top on both pies. Just look at the pictures. This is the worst excuse for a pot pie I have ever seen, and they did it twice! read more

The dysfunction and service here is pure comedy. Terrible. Tues, Oct 3rd, 1pm -- stood 8mins at the cash register waiting for someone to show up to take an order. It was dead inside. Meanwhile, an employee is standing there washing the ground not saying a word. Clearly stoned. Finally a woman came over and said "I'll be with you in a minute". 5 mins later she finally shows back up. I ordered two meals, extra crispy. Both orders showed up 10mins later. Both orders were wrong. Upon returning back to have them fix the orders, the replacements were both missing items as well. While dealing with the incompetency of employees working such a simple job, I watched another frustrated customer come back in complaining about how their order was wrong. This is the filthiest place ever. I have never seen spiderwebs in a fast food window before but there they were and it's not Halloween. The booths looked like they were varnished with black grease. Floors filthy and sticky. No flat surface was clean -- sticky and greasy. The kitchen had food and napkins that had fallen on the floor and not cleaned up. The area around the soda machine had never been cleaned up as spilled drinks had actually solidified. The bathroom floor was yellowed arround the toilet with dried pee. DONT EAT HERE. read more

Family tradition to stop at King city KFC while traveling in our RV towards the central California coast on vacation. This visit we were disappointed that at 8 o'clock they were out of white crispy anything. The dining area was beautiful and looked newer renovated. However the young lady cleaning the area said she's been working there for 2 years and it's always been this way. The area looked so wide open and inviting I would have enjoyed sitting down, but we had our RV to sit in. read more

Food was acceptable. The dining room was closed, they had sketchy people walking through through their "Nice shaded outdoor dining area". As a female traveling by myself I felt unsafe. After I paid I went to the bathroom and it was closed. After asking about it they said the bathroom was open at the gas station next door. If the gas station next door had a bathroom, isn't it safe to keep theirs open? It is a commuter location. Unacceptable. read more

I used to love the KFC's in my home state. The chicken from the one in King City is not the same. Small, Little meat, too much batter, dry and chewy. I ordered the wings the next time.... the worst wings I've ever had. Hard to chew and little meat. Almost like it was double cooked. I'm so disappointed. Pulled off the highway to use the facilities and then was planning on purchasing something to eat. NOT!! The ladies room was SO messy, no TP and there were rat turds on the floor!! Awful. Just awful. I ordered a chicken sandwich and my partner got some original chicken pieces. The chicken was anorexic, tasted like rubber on the ends of the "crispy" sandwich. The sandwiches are really small for the price you pay. The chicken was obviously re-fried from the previous day our this morning. The potato wedges I ordered as the side was also obviously re-fried. The potato looked dehydrated and dark from too many frying experiences. The potoato has seen its fair share of frying and left over days. After a couple bites from each sandwich and not noticing anything different between the two, I threw it all away. My stomach began to cramp immediately after consuming some of the fried plastic ....Aghuumm, consuming the chicken, the chicken. NEVER EATING HERE AGAIN. read more

We came to order a bucket of KFC original, however, my sister in law wanted to get the new Chicken Vegan Tenders and she first asked for a sample. She was told "sorry no samples, you have to order a complete order of 6 tenders for $10. She said we'd be happy to pay an amount for just one sample, and the answer was "no". So she ordered the 6 tenders and they were awful, couldn't even finish them. However, on the good side, the KFC bucket of chicken was excellent. KFC, you need to do something about people trying new items. Not even letting people purchase a sample is lame. read more

The manager and cashier looked at us as we came in, and totally ignored us. When the cashier finally came to the counter, she looked at us and said "Do you know what you want?" I ordered nuggets, fries, and a chicken sandwich. The cashier said it would be 5 minutes for the fries. We sat down at a filthy, sticky table. ALL the tables and the floor was filthy! Flies everywhere. 25 minutes later we got our order. Cold sandwich and cold fries. Nuggets were hot, but were very oily. I took the fries back and said they were cold. The worker took them and walked away. 10 minutes later I went to ask about the fries and was told they had trouble with the fryer. 5 minutes more and when I got them they were also oily, like the temperature of the oil was not hot enough. I wrote a complaint to the "so-called" Customer Care departmen, and they totally "blew me off," and said hope you come back. What a joke! Over the years I have frequented many fast food restaurants, two of those most frequented being Taco Bell and KFC. Even though the food at Taco Bell was decent, more often than not, my main memory of having eaten there was a two day episode of diarrhea. So, I quit eating at Taco Bell. So now, in King City, CA, I decided to give KFC a try, and as I discovered, it was another mistake. I ordered the simple combo meal with cole slaw, biscuits and 2 chicken breasts. Only a few hours after having consumed this meal, I began making several trips to the restroom. Now here it is the second day after eating that meal, and am still making frequent trips to the restroom. It is hard for me to know if it was the cole slaw or the chicken which made me sick. I have a suspicion it was the cole slaw, but I have no way of knowing. Since both Taco Bell and KFC are owned by Pepsi, maybe they decided that added some bacterial contamination to the food would give it some added flavor. Whatever the reason that both of these restaurants are serving contaminated food, Pepsi needs to get their act together to prevent a steady erosion of their customer base;any help from local restaurants should come from each location's manager, but if that was going to happen, it should have happened a long time ago; in summary, local managers care not one iota about the details in maintaining a clean and tidy restaurant Based on many of the other reviews of this location, I am not surprised that the food could be contaminated, based on their sloppy habits and overall uncleanliness of the restaurant. Lessons learned? I will never visit Taco Bell or KFC again, even if I am starving; a person would be better off buying food from a sidewalk vendor; I am just sick and tired of getting sick every time I eat at a particular restaurant. Everyone would be better off avoiding these restaurants if they care about their health. read more

Not sure who is responsible for cleanliness (the manager, of course) but today when we walked in about 2pm, we got the dirtiest restaurant I've seen in... so long I can't remember. Im not one who complains about these things (check my review stats on that) but this was pretty extreme so I hope the owner sees it. For example, every table top was dirty. I mentioned it once in a joking manner to the boy behind the counter (oh, you guys must have just had a rush). I thought he had told somebody about it. Then when we got our food, I had to come back again and ask for a table to be cleaned because literally nothing was clean. The floor had dried sticky soda spilled all over it. When someone came out to clean, they wiped down 'most' of the tables. Unfortunately, they did it so quickly, there was still crumbs and debris on them. The girls bathroom was dirty, the soap dispenser didn't work properly, and it had no toilet paper. Every point in a restaurant that a customer sees was extremely unprofessional and had clearly needed cleaning for a while it was slow and the workers were standing around talking so there was no excuse. Worse thought, I can't imagine what the back looks like if the front side is so wrecked. If I'd have realized the extent before ordering, we would have left. I was uneasy eating the food, even though the food was typical KFC good. Definitely definitely won't be back. And I'd recommend others avoid it, too. Won't see ya there. read more

I love the customer service. The food was great. I was so ambiance about this place. There's this female, she's pretty and tall with pink glasses. She accidentally forgot something on our order and she apologized so many times saying she was sorry! I couldn't be mad because com'n? She did something kind that day. I told her she shouldn't of had, that mistakes happen. Instead of being annoyed and weird she was like so friendly and took the time out of her day to make us happy. In other KFC's, they say they're sorry giving an attitude, but i like how this girl working at this kfc fluently speaked well coversating with us. We need more people like her. I've been here more than once and sometimes it's her and this lady working only. She has the food ready and everything. I like how she takes accountability that day and took it as a lesson for the better. I love her energy! She hasn't messed up ever since. Love her energy and everything. I don't normally stop at the fast food in King City, but I wanted to try the Nashville Hot chicken that KFC has been advertising so much lately. I'm a big fan of spicy food so I decided to make this stop while I also got fuel. First off the restaurant wasn't clean, most of the tables were dirty, and despite clearly being open during regular business hours the neon "OPEN" sign was off. They seemed relatively well staffed, but would only help one customer at a time, I'm assuming this may be because of drive through orders but I don't know. The guy behind the counter was pretty friendly and made sure everything was correct. Normally, when I have had KFC in the past is has been pretty consistent and looked more or less like the advertised meal, unlike most fast food. This time was much different. The chicken while cooked well and had the crispy breading was basically leaking grease and they just slapped on some sauce. From my understanding of the Nashville hot the spice was supposed to be the breading itself, no where did it look like or sound like it was just some crappy sauce they slather on the chicken. While the flavor was decent, the grease and the sauce was just gross. Also, this was ordered as a meal and came with a biscuit, well they forgot to include the butter. Thankfully the cole slaw was exactly as what I love and expect from them. But damn, that Nashville hot chicken is either absolutely terrible or this location is really missing the mark. Either way, not a very clean restaurant and the food was sub-par. read more

Make sure when you order from this location, that they give you all of your items prior to leaving. I placed a curbside pickup to give them enough cooking time. When I went to pick up my order, I was missing 2/3rds of my items. When I asked why I was missing said items, they said they were out. However when I asked for a manager they said they had the item in stock and that they would be cooked in 30 minutes. Also thus location only had 1 cashier whom was chit chatting with another employee, while I waiting to be helped. All in all not the greatest first mpression nor experience. read more

I love KFC chicken, but this is the worst KFC I've ever been to. I live in the area and have been there multiple times. They are almost always out of corn on the cob which is on the Monday special. They are at times out of original chicken. Several times they messed up the order, so it is wise to check before leaving. At times the chicken is over cooked and the biscuits so hard that they are inedible. The only thing I would recommend is the coleslaw. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would consider it. My husband and I stopped in for a quick lunch. We were traveling thru on the 101 on our way to So Cal. Service was just ok. No Sweet Tea, NO ICE and the place was absolutely filthy. When they said they were out of ice people would forget getting a drink The windows on the inside haven't been washed in months. The tables were all sticky. I ate a little and the thought started to get to me about the filth. So we left. Very sad for such an iconic place. read more

After our visit to Pinnacles National Monument we grabbed lunch at this KFC. The staff were very nice and the food was as good as that you'll get at any KFC anywhere. But I must bust the company out on an issue - they need to reevaluate the preparation procedures for their chicken strips! The last three times I've had KFC chicken strips (here, in Santa Craplita, and in the San Fernando Valley), they've been inedibly rubbery. Just awful. $7-$10 per person. I went through drive thru and I got overcharged, I got charged for someone else's order when I looked at receipt i was 4 or 5 miles away (8-10 roundtrip) so i explained and showed receipt and was only offered difference back in cash. Stopped in at King City KFC on Sat evening about 7pm. Went through the drive thru. Ordered a 12 piece with 3 sides advertised at $22.99 on menu. Was charged $32.67. When I got home to Soledad,(18 miles away), I got an eight piece bucket. Only two breast, two drumsticks, and four little tiny wings with no meat on them. The side of corn on the cob was placed on top of the bucket and was so wet it soaked thru the box and into the bucket. Chicken was all soggy. What a rip off. I will never go to a KFC again!!!! read more
