This has become a regular biweekly stop for my husband and me. We always receive great service from the manager and the young team members -- you can tell the leadership is strong by the way the staff responds to her. Today we met Sébastien, a new team member, and what a great first impression! He greeted us with a big smile and was so polite. He even thanked us for coming in. Pros: Food was ready fast. App was very easy to order. Had some good deals. Cons: Burger patties have gotten smaller and burgers had too much sauce. Upon entering, we were greeted by the workers and while we were dining, a worker came up and asked us how we were doing and if we needed anything. I was traveling to Winter Park and stopped here for a rest. When I was ordering my burger, asked if I could get extra lettuce and no bun. Angel help me by suggesting a lettuce wrap burger. There must be a national shortage on napkins because they keep them behind the counter and only gave me two when I had to go back and ask for them. This amount is supposed to be for four people. So I went back and said that there are four people in our group. They only gave me two more! This place is horrible. The food quality and size for the amount paid was crazy. Uh, just had the oldest experience ever in the drive thru. It's about 8:10 pm, we pull in they say "just a minute" we say "we'll need a minute". Then when it is time to order they say they're closed. We have stopped at this location on road trips numerous times over the years. The lot is a little small but you can usually get a spot. The staff is usually friendly. Service speed does vary like at any fast food place. The food quality has always been ok on our visits. Their toilets are reasonably clean. Keep in mind that for Yelp, 2-3 stars is good for fast food, under 2 stars avoid that location, and over 3 stars is rare. We recommend giving these guys a try. They are just as good if not better than the many other fast food restaurants at this exit and the other near by towns. read more

Excruciatingly long wait in the drive through. Not a long line. Just not moving for 20 minutes. When you're on a long drive, efficient stops are everything. Watching the minutes tick by was torture. I have never been to a worst Carl's Jr in my life. It took repeating our order 4 times at the window and we only got 3 things. They could not understand English at all which I can be patient with but after the 4tg time it was frustrating. The receipt had all the food rang up correctly but we got wrong items on 2 of our orders. We had them remake they order after going inside and showing them what was wrong. They then made us the worst possible burgers in history. It took me 5 napkins just to get enough of the sauce off my burger to eat. It was literally swimming. My wife's burger was cold and the jalapeno poppers were also cold. The sprite was out of syrup so we got bitter soda water. We then asked for a refund because we didn't eat anything and after 5 minutes the manager Laura Vera finally came out and informed us they have a no refund policy on all food. She pointed to a small posted sign that they had clearly printed themselves. Not even visible to drive thur customers. Barely visible to counter customers. I'm attaching a photo of the sign. The way that this Carl's Jr is ran puts all other fast food chains to shame and here's why: Right away, once we walked in we were greeted by the manager. He was a bit busy at the moment, but still made the effort to tell us and others in queue that "we will be right with you" and they certainly were. Another register was opened almost immediately to move people along. When ordering, the cashier was friendly. She seemed genuinely enthused to be working...yes, really. Upon confirming that we would be eating in house, she handed us a placard to post at our table because... They bring all your food to you! As for the meal itself. Standard burger and fries, but the ingredients did seem fresher than most. Nice, hearty slices of beef tomatoes, crisp lettuce leaves... This Carl's Jr is just off the East side of the 101 Freeway in a little shopping center with a Safeway grocery store and a CVS drug store. It is very convenient as you can access it off either the Canal Street exit or the Broadway Street exit. II've been trying to eat healthy lately, which means I've been avoiding fast food drive throughs like the plague. Unfortunately, when I'm making the long drive from Bakersfield to Monterey or back, I'm usually trying to keep to a schedule and don't have time to stop at a sit down restaurant for a meal. Carl's Jr seems to be one of my best bets for picking up a healthy meal on the road. Did you know that they will serve any of their chicken sandwiches as a lettuce wrap? This is a great alternative to a gluten and carb laden bun. I usually get the charbroiled BBQ sandwich as a lettuce wrap and ask for light barbecue sauce. The sandwich comes wrapped in thick layers of fresh crisp lettuce, and is wrapped in paper so that it is easy to hold and eat in the car, even while driving. I've never had a bad experience at this location, though I've only used their drive through and never been inside. read more

This is, surprisingly, not the case with this Carl's' Jr. The burgers are BIG !!! They look just the way they do in commercials. As someone who drives between L.A. and San Francisco a lot, King City is one of those in-between stops for gas and to taken a moment. Since it opened I have also grabbed a latte' at the King City Starbucks -- which is also Very Good. But, this Carl's Jr was (and is) a surprise. I just happened onto it one day and it is GREAT !!! I would give it zero if I could! I've been to other Carl Jrs in the past but never been to one who had just bad customer service and made you wait so long! I went through the drive through and after paying they told me not asked to go wait in the parking lot and come to find out that there are also 4 other cars waiting! I had to wait at least 15-18mins for my food and another 5 mins for my drink! It wasn't really busy in inside either from what I could see. So, I feel a little weird giving such a good review to a fast food restaurant, but this particular Carl's Jr earned it. I can't believe how good the customer service is here. This is not a shill Yelp review...completely genuine. Wifey and I were driving along the 101, and she had a hankering for some fast food. We just so happened to stop in here. The guy who took our order was very charismatic and cracking actual funny jokes with us. He was extremely polite and gracious. He promised the food would be out shortly. Sooner than later the food was delivered by a different Carls Jr employee. She, too, was extremely polite and helpful. She provided a bit of small talk before she left our table. She eventually came back to our table (along with every other patron in the establishment) to see if we needed anything else. She brought us more ketchup. Then the manager himself walked an order out to a waiting vehicle outside. On his way back, he personally thanked us for dining with them. As for the food, it was what I would expect out of a Carls Jr (fairly tasty; their chicken sandwiches are yummy), but the service made us feel like royalty. Carls Jr corporate should really come to this location to see how customer service is supposed to be like. Kudos to you, King City Carls. Well played, indeed. read more

For fast food, this Carl's was incredible. First, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Which was great, because I had a bunch of questions as to what was on the Grilled Chicken salad. Secondly, that salad was *fresh*. I thought it might be because we're in the heart of California's growing area, but the assistant manager said that they had to get their produce from the main Carl's distributor. I stopped here on the way home from a camping trip. My friends and I were caught off guard with how nice everyone there was. It was so nice, it was creepy. Ever see those old horror movies when the small town is full of people acting weird? This is what it felt like. When you walk in, virtually everyone says hi or greets you somehow. When the person brought our food, she asked if I wanted ketchup. When I said yes, she asked how many. I couldn't help but say "what the f*ck?" in response, but immediately said sorry. While we were eating, at least two times someone stopped and asked if we needed anything, if the food was okay, or if we had any garbage to take away. Again, creepy.
