Generally, KFC is a third rate choice for me when it comes to real fried chicken because it is made in batches and waits in a plastic cabinet to be sold later. At least that's my experience. The great spices they use still make for great flavor, but the chicken itself sits in their cabinet too long. This particular KFC plays rock 'n roll very loud for the pleasure of the employees, apparently, as I can't imagine most customers wanting to have such racket inflicted upon them while trying to enjoy a meal. One might get a good batch of chicken here by showing up just after they open because the chicken is relatively fresh from the fryer at that time. My experience is that showing up later will guarantee stale chicken that was in the storage cabinet too long. But no matter when one shows up, the rock 'n roll will be blaring. wow, I should have taken heed when I saw the 2 star average. Love my KFC but this place wrecks it for the other franchises. Employees seemed competent and friendly but the quality of the chicken was just not up to par. Never had such chewy tasteless food. I would truly be interested if the owner of the franchise has any idea what makes his chicken so bad. I would assume he is suppose to follow some rigid franchise documentation to promote consistency of the product. All I can assume is they are cutting corners somewhere. This was the worst food we ever had. We hope we don't get food poisoning. We should have turned around when we walked in and smelt burnt food. The only thing edible was the coleslaw. The beautiful sandwich I saw on the menu board looked great ! What I got was a tiny squashed, slimy, road kill. The wings were burnt so bad, there wasn't any meat left. I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews on this page. I have come to this KFC many times and have never experienced any problems. Most of the workers are young, energetic, always trying to help, and carry a smile. This is a fast food restaurant- of course this food is not gourmet but it is still worth the money. I've been to this KFC enough to know that if you are dissatisfied with your food, they will easily replace it. In addition, if they make a mistake- I've seen workers try to make up for it by throwing in a freebie. The workers try their absolute best at customer service, (after all these are a bunch of high schoolers and college kids) and yes I have witnessed very rude and grumpy customers while sitting and enjoying my personal meal. They close at 10 on Sunday night it's a holiday weekend you know people will be coming for family meals. They told us they didn't have any chicken. I asked them how long to make it. They told me "we close in 35 minutes" and that it would take them that long to fry chicken. I can go to the grocery store to buy raw chicken go home and season it in and be done frying it in that time. LAZY, RUDE, horrible customer service. The truth is they cleaned up early and wanted to go home instead of doing what they are paid for. I will be calling the owner tomorrow. Go to Popeyes. There wasn't anything hardly inside??? 2 or 3 bites at most, no gravy, no filling, very dry, just crust mostly. We were told there fresh before buying them so we took the chance. Tim C. I have noticed than when you go through the drive thru window that the chicken they give you is sometimes cold and dried out. I hardly have a problem when I go inside, I get nice hot chicken the way it should be. I guess they figure you wont notice until you get home, I live 2 blocks away and it is very irritating to get slightly warm food. Also have noticed that the chicken pieces are getting smaller all the time. I don't know where they get their chickens, but they should give them a chance to grow up. I got a wing meal and the wings were comparable to a parakeets wings. I just believe that whether you go inside or outside the quality should be the same. Pushing the old dried out cold stock should not be allowed. Very disappointed, this has happened to me many times.... read more

This place is clean and has decent customer service this kfc only gets three stars because they can often forget an item in your drive up or take out order but that has not happened to me in awhile. My only other complaint is they often forget pickles in the Nashville chicken and the other varieties of chicken that come with pickles read more

I am extremely disappointed in the service I just received at 10:53am today. I happened to walk in as my original order wasn't ready in the drive thru. When I walked in Arianna handled my with her bare hands, no gloves using her fingers to pick up a single fry and place with my order. Immediately after Arianna reached in her pocket and pulled out her phone. When I attempted to address her in a calm toned she walked away and said "I didn't touch the fries" which is in fact a lie! . Manager Karla helped in addressing the issue and other staff witness her using her phone while handling food. That staff member said "yes I did see her using her phone and I will talk to her about that". Another gentlemen (crew member) WITHOUT gloves in the food area came to the counter apologizing on behalf of Arianna who never came to apologize herself offered to redo the entire order. This is EXTREMELY UNACCEPTABLE as crew members are educated when obtaining their FOOD HANDLERS CERTIFICATE what NOT to do. Had I never walked in my toddler would've consumed this contaminated order this is an outrage. I really hope Karla understands that this is a reflection of her and her DISTRICT MANAGER. I will be escalating this to corporate and request they further investigation they camera footage not just for myself but for the safety of other customers who may not realize the negligence of the establishment. read more

This is a rating on the KFC's new chicken sandwich. I ordered one original and one spicy. The original chicken was dry and rather bland. The spicy wasn't as dry but other than mildly spicy, it wasn't something I would crave. I will mention that chicken sandwich had a large portion in both sandwiches The bun and sauce were ok. The pickle was fine but just can't understand why their original secret herbs & spice recipe chicken is consistently tasty and juicy and yet their chicken sandwiches are dry and non-memorable. So for $3.99 it isn't a bad deal if your hungry but it isn't the best chicken sandwich at a fast food joint. I still prefer the original recipe fried chicken. Now if they used the original recipe on their chicken sandwich (which is what I was hoping for) I might consider being there every day. BTW, I used the drive thru in Manteca, and the staff was fine for fast food (although a thank you would have been appreciated, LOL), the area seemed clean, and they were fast. read more

I am constantly disappointed by this particular KFC. The staff is friendly enough and they aren't slow but the quality of the food is really poor. More often than not I get stale food at this restaurant. They are right around the corner from my house so it's close when we are in a rush but I just took the kids there and spent $30 on our way home for barely edible chewy breaded chicken and dried-out biscuits. It was 5:15 when we went there and I'm sure none of the food we had was made after noon today. I doubt they rotate anything off the warmer until it gets sold. This is a constant problem with this particular KFC. I won't be going back. I'll go without or drive the ten miles to the decent one. read more

I went into to dine in with my wife and was greeted with smiles and a happy attitude! I have loved KFC since I was a child in the 1970's. While I'm the first one to admit it's not quite the same as it used to be, overall it's still appealing to me. Most locations are so-so at best. I've eaten at this location 4 times in the last month. The service and of course the food has been outstanding! The tables are cleaned frequently and the staff super friendly and efficient. We went there with low expectations but were not prepared for what was to come. Oh dear god. Why did we eat here? That was the question we asked ourselves as we disguarded the uneaten portions and left. I gave 2 stars because of the service ONLY! The food was absolutely disgusting and deserves a negative rating. When served it looked nothing like the menu photos. Cold, rancid tasting chicken, incredibly salty gravy on the mashed potatoes, biscuits with the taste and texture of an used old dish sponge are the best words I can find to describe our experience. On a more global note shame on you KFC. The amount of garbage produced by KFC is staggering. For our simple 2 person meal we disguarded 2 plates, 4 small bowls with lids, 1 large bowl with lid, 2 medium drink with lids, 2 spork wrappers, 2 sporks, 2 buttery spread wrappers, 2 honey sauce wrappers. For fast food, the KFC in Manteca is pretty good. Their service is incredibly fast, and I mean my order is done and ready to go before I've even finished paying! During the times they are in the middle of making more chicken and my order isn't immediately complete (and I mean, literally, it's not in the bag ready to go), they give me a free drink while I'm waiting for my order. What fast food place EVER does that??? And yet, they offer it to me every time I have to wait, even if it's only 30 seconds or so! The food is pretty much what you expect from a fast food chicken place, but considering how badly fast food has gone downhill over the past decade, these guys are actually trying to do it right. The food is always hot, and again... name one fast food place that serves it hot every time? These guys do. PLEASE READ: Manteca Ca. Kentucky Fried Chicken does not need customers! I have changed locations from where I use to purchase my weekly chicken fix because of the actions of a few rude KFC employees at Javier Coria's KFC at 1211 East Yosemite Avenue 209-823-3783 here in Manteca. On April 29 2009 around 6:00pm I stood in a very busy line. The drive thru was just as packed so I thought I would save some time and try to get take out from inside. I ordered the 10 piece "all thighs" and was told it would be a 20 minute wait. Not a problem. As I wait I observed other employees and their reactions to the customers who where waiting in the packed drive thru window. Very unprofessional! I witnessed 2 employees mocking/making fun of the drive thru window customers and laughing because they complained about the wait. HOW RUDE!!! This was done in front of several customers who were waiting 20 plus minutes for their order as well. Then, after waiting for what seemed to be forever, my name was called and I was informed that my order "could not be filled" and that my thighs had been given out to other customers and that if I still wanted "all thighs" that it would be another 20 minutes. WHAT? I am waiting for a "whoops, sorry "or would you "like a coke/water while waiting" anything? Instead I received an attitude for ordering "all thighs" from one of the same people who were mocking their paying drive-thru customers. I told the employee that I would like to speak with the manager. She told me that the manager was busy and that I would be told the same thing (funny, I did not ask for her opinion). I again insisted on the manager in hopes of getting at least an apology or something? I quickly learned where the attitude came from when a lady named "Veronica" appears and looks very bothered that I had pulled her away from what ever she was doing. While I explained to Veronica what had happened and that I did not appreciate the employees clear unapologetic attitude and her resistance to get the manager, the employee was standing next to Veronica disputing my complaint word after word. How embarrassing! I knew all the waiting customers behind me were hearing what was going on so at this point, red faced, I just asked for my money back. With a gallop Veronica hurries over to the register to hand me my money back just to get rid of the problem instead of attempting to fix it. Amazing! I just wanted some thighs from the World's most famous Chicken establishment? It must be great business at this place to permanently chase off customers like me, huh? I asked her for her business card and she handed me some one Else's business card and scribbled her name on it. I do not even think she was the manager? My complaint is with this location of KFC and not with KFC as a whole. I immediately drove 10 extra minutes out of my way and went to the KFC location in Lathrop on Louise Ave. and had my order in 10 minutes with a smile and a thank you just like I have been use to getting my whole life from all the other KFC's in California. I really hope that the employees of the Manteca KFC location learn how to deal with all types of customers and that just offering them their money back does not always fix their experience. What is there really to say about a fast food joint? How quickly they got me food? The quality of said food? The "customer service" provided by the pre/post high school employees? KFC makes some damn good chicken, but sometimes they need to work on their customer service skills. Granted it is a fast food establishment and I'm not expecting white-table-cloth waiter service, but common courtesy is to be expected in my honest opinion. Now... I do not mean to bash a group of people (fast food employees) but I do mean to bash upon the individual morons that irritate me. When I order a three piece original recipe plate with mac n cheese and a biscut... I expect just that. I do not expect a blank stare and a scoff when I return to the store to get my order corrected after you gave me three pieces of extra crispy chicken and cole slaw. How hard is your job? I mean really... all you have to do is listen and comply... which btw takes the lowest form of cognitive language skills. Also... if your store stay open until 11pm.... don't you think you ought to keep food prepared and ready until say.... 11pm?!? I once arrived at this particular KFC an hour... AN HOUR... before closing on a Friday night and was told they were out of original recipe chicken. Excuse me... did I just hear you correctly? You are OUT of the type of chicken that made you famous a complete hour before your doors are supposed to lock. Do you honestly think no one was going to patronize your establishment on a Friday night who might want the type of chicken that made your restaurant famous? I was young once and worked several fast food jobs...so I understand the lack of enthusiasm for working at a fast food restaurant, but seriously...don't work in an environment that you are representing your company by your actions at the front counter. Find something else to do. My family and I went there for dinner. We ordered a couple of chicken little sandwiches, strips and an order of overpriced hot wings. Since we have been there before, and gotten old food, we requested fresh food. We were told 8 minutes....40 minutes later. We were given a sorry explanation that once the food leaves the counter basically it's the customer's job to verify the order...and to add insult to injury...no attempt to make it right or apologies. All of my experiences at this KFC have been good. Their credit card machine was down for drive-thru today, but other than that the food has always been good and the staff's been nice. My daughter and I went through the drive thru tonight. We were going to bring the family dinner home after soccer practice. I asked if the bucket of chicken and the bucket of tenders had the same sides. The boy on the intercom proceeded to explain the difference in the types of chicken. I said, No, that is not what I was asking, and repeated my question about the sides again. He again, began to explain how the chicken pieces and tenders were different. Again, I said, No that is not my question. Then for a third time, he is discussing the difference between the chicken pieces and tenders. I then raise my voice and spell the words. "I said sides, S-I-D-E, not size, S-I-Z-E. He then gets angry and tells me that I don't have to yell at him and to get out of his drive thru because he doesn't have to serve me. Apparently, all these bad reviews are dead on. I am shocked at the lack of customer service. If he could not hear me, instead of repeating the same thing four times, he should have asked me to drive around and spoken to me. I guess, they are located in a place that will ensure a certain level of business, however they will never get mine again. I would highly recommend wing stop, Panera, Panda Express, In and out or any of the other number of restaurants vying for your business with in a block of this place. read more

The KFC in Manteca is wonderful. I went there for the first time about 2 weeks ago. The manager was training a new employee and she was so kind and very patient with her trainee. All of the emloyee's I came into contact with were professional and very nice. The service was so quick I didn't even have a chance to sit down before my name was called. Excellent customer service. PLEASE READ: I was going through drive through the other day and the guy that was taking my order was practically yelling at me because I asked 2 questions!! JUST 2 QUESTIONS!! I order the 8 piece meal and they said it was going to be a 25 minute wait. which was fine. Although while at the window he thought he shut the window but then HE STARTED YELLING AT THE OTHER EMPLOYEES WHEN IT DIDNT LOOK LIKE HE WAS EVEN WORKING!!! I waited 30 minutes and then went inside for my order when I got inside the same young man who took my order in drive thru I found out was the manager his name is Karl and he was still extremely rude when I asked for my order then he yelled at another employee to do it. Went to KFC Manteca tonight and arrived at 9:15 pm. After my girl and our kids ordered I gave them my order. I was informed they were out of chicken. I said I don't mind I will wait. The manager Matt Gunter said from around the corner that there will not be any more chicken for the rest of the night. And might i add he never came out from the back to talk to me. He sent his employees to let me know that the fryers where cold and it would take 20 minutes to heat back up. When I asked for his name A very nice young man went back to tell him, and he still didn't come out front. Just sent the young man to give me his name. I never heard of such. A restaurant shutting down equipment down an hour before close. Very disappointing experience.
