Called in our order and usually we prefer going to Ripon since it's a sit-down but tonight we decided to give the express in Manteca try. Tonight, the new AI that sounds like an old gold minor was taking phone orders. The AI repeated and confirmed my order three times, yet when I got there, my Pizza had ham, after requesting no ham. Learned their AI system wasn't transferring information properly and there had been other incorrect orders. They quickly remade my order and bumped up the size from a large to an extra large. I was so hungry from smelling pizza and watching other people eat that by the time I got home, I had forgotten to take photos. Thanks to the upgraded extra large, we have tons of leftovers. Gold dust is a loaded pizza with lots of toppings and thick marinara made with wine. More like a pan pizza. This is a maximum two slices of pizza and you're stuffed because they're so loaded with toppings. If you're more a New York style pizza, then this isn't for you. Hands down one of the best pizzas we've had. Brought the family in to check it out, we got there almost closing time and they still served us and let us eat there. Miners special was enough to feed our family of 5. We were even able to get a specialty pizza with 2 different sets of toppings. We got half all meat and half white sauce chicken. It was overflowing with toppings, meat was flavorful and cheese was on point. Crust was perfect. The staff was so nice. Definitely our new favorite. Everytime we talked about pizza, this place always come up and were always hyped up. So we decided to finally try this place one day we were craving for pizza. Motherlode Pizza- a meatlover's dream pizza filled with salami, pepperoni, ham, linguica,bacon, sausage in red sauce and cheese overload. You get all meats in every bite and each one compliments them well. It's a meat party in your mouth. Cheese Pizza- although this is just your basic one topping pizza, it was such a delight. The cheese pull you get from it made it worth every bite. It's melted and gooey cheese goodness together with their red sauce was a flavor satisfaction. Boneless Buffalo Wings- I usually love my wings in traditional way, but since having braces made it impossible to gnaw on them bones clean so I opted for this one. Their Boneless wings were fried well, breaded lightly and juicy. The buffalo sauce does not overwhelm you with their tanginess. It has a nice mild kick and I can bite into it with no problem. These slices could not even hold up all the toppings because they weigh it down from being so loaded with them. They are not stingy with their ingredients so it was all worth the price you paid for. We ordered it to be picked up and their service was prompt and the food were ready and still warm when we got home. Very disappointing experience--twice now. I picked up a pizza order that was burnt and extremely dry. When I asked about it, Allison, the manager, said this is their standard way of baking pizzas. I was told I could come back the same day only for a remake, with no refunds offered. If you can't return immediately, you're simply out of luck which is a huge inconvenience for customers. This is also the second time we've had an issue. On a previous order, we got a triple pepperoni pizza with so much grease that oil leaked out of the box and all over the seat of my car. When I asked to speak with a higher-level manager, I was told she was the only person and no additional contact information would be provided. I've never experienced a place where fixing bad food or service is limited to one rigid option that only benefits the business. We've supported this company across multiple locations--their pizza spots (including Ripon), their ice cream shop, and Falcon's Lair but this experience has completely turned us off. I gathered my pizza and went got peppers and cheese which she never asked me if I wanted but I did notice she asked the other customers she also never spoke to them in that manner. We are frequent flyers at the Ripon Gold Dust Pizza, love their Digger specialty pizza. It's a once in a while treat we look forward to every few weeks. I found out today there's an express location that recently opened in Manteca. Closer to home - great! And they deliver - woohoo! Today I ordered a Digger pizza online. Very easy to do. No guesswork. Straightforward. I received a few texts advising me the order went through, they were finding a driver, etc. It arrived on time, was hot as other customers had noted, was loaded with toppings, looked & smelled yummy. While it was tasty, a few comments about the express pizza vs. Ripon restaurant pizza. There was definitely a lot less cheese on the express version, and the crust wasn't as light and tasty. It was chewy, almost tough. It just didn't compare IMHO. On the other hand, I asked for extra light sauce, which they did. The delivery man, Miguel S. was super friendly. It was convenient and great for those who prefer delivery, but as far as quality, the Ripon restaurant wins hands down. I probably will use Manteca express again, but I can't see having to pay extra for more cheese when there's so little on the express pizza to begin with. read more

I went in and ordered a giant pizza over the phone, paid, and asked for ranch. They told me I'd get three since it was a large pizza, and when I offered to pay for more, they said they'd throw in an extra one -- which I thought was really nice, so I left a $5 tip. This was my first time visiting, and it seemed like the staff was in a bit of a frenzy since they were closing soon. When my pizza came out, I asked for the ranch and a bag for Parmesan and pepper. Everyone looked a little confused. As they went to the back, I noticed a bottle of Pepsi on the floor near the ovens and a generally dirty kitchen area. I've worked in restaurants before, and I know things get messy, but given how many people were working, I expected it to be cleaner. When my pizza was placed on the counter, someone started spraying cleaner instead of using a towel with bleach -- fumes going everywhere -- not the best timing. To my disappointment, I ended up with only two sides of ranch and a pizza that was mostly bread. I ordered half Como and half White Sauce Chicken, and I couldn't help but laugh when I counted only six small pieces of chicken -- definitely not fresh, probably pre-cooked Costco (disgusting!). The flavor was bland, and the whole experience was underwhelming. Honestly, I don't get what all the fuss is about. It was my first and last time here. P.S.
