Had a great midday hunting break meal here and the food was so good. We got there around 11:15 and our chicken was moist and the breading was crispy! I got a biscuit, potato wedges and Mac and cheese as well. The wedges were a bit soggy for my liking but everything else was good. I took a star away for cleanliness. My husband & i decided to order from KFC. We ordered the 16 piece xtra crispy bucket that is SUPPOSED to come with 4 thighs, 4 drums, 4 wings and 4 breasts. I dont ear dark meat chicken... only the white meat. Instead of ordering a smaller bundle, i ordered the 16 piece for $50 to get the 4 breasts pieces. I live approx 30 minutes away. I placed my order in a pizza carrier my husband has from working at a pizza place decades ago to keep our food warm. As the food was getting eaten.. there was ONLY 2 breasts and a crap load of cheap a$$ wings that hold hardly any meat on them!! I called the manager because the ONLY reason i spent so much was to get the 4 white pieces!! He told me "they were busy all day.. sorry" i literally ordered this on a scheduled time so it could all be prepared by the time i got there!!! They gave me the crap that was left over... none of my food was fresh! The seasoned fries have made its way to the trash bin because they are rubbery and unable to be eaten!! I was told that "id have to bring back everything to get a new order"... they literally put 4 thighs and 4 drums in one bucket and 2 breasts ontop of 8 wings!! So i wouldnt know until i got home!! ABSOLUTELY SHADY AS HELL!! How am i going the bring back 2 biscuits that were already eaten... the dark pieces of chicken already eaten and cole slaw and mashed potatoes that were consumed?? He told me "i could come back in on any day to pick up my 2 pieces of breasts" and as he asked me my name i told him.. it wasnt about any of that.. it was about giving my family the old crap they didnt sell!! They didn't even try to give me whar i paid for!!! He then hung up on me!! I am sooooo angry at this TRASHY PLACE !! Heed the reviews! This was by far the absolute worst chicken I've ever had. There is a huge difference in juicy chicken and grease filled chicken. There was an actual puddle of oil in the bottom of the box. 2 pieces of chicken were not cooked through. The fries were cold and the biscuits were hard and probably a day or two old. read more

This was A bad day for the colonel i think they used the cooking oil way to long. The breading was half gone from the breast i ordered, it was replaced but def not with a smile. This piece also had the very dark oil draining from it with a bad after taste. We had just ordered a bucket the week before and it was delicious so it was just a bad day for them and it was a Sunday so manager was probably home. read more

Drive through window order ! This place should be shut down!! Surry county health dept must be on vacation. They are going make some one sick. Every time we go to the restaurant they are not open for dine in just the drive thru. They are forcing us to go to Chic Fil-A for dinner. Keep closing the dining room KFC and your business will go elsewhere. read more

The Mac and cheese was gross, the cashier was rude, the chicken had cracked bones, the water was tinted pink, they didn't have plates, their tables were nasty, my stomach hurts, and only good thing was the music. read more

Went in and ordered two five dollar boxes to go, when we got home, we found them full of very small ants. The cookies were covered in ants while still in the package. My wife spoke to the manager the next day and the store manager told my wife that she was lying because they did not have ants. Stay away at all costs. I called the KFC today, and spoke with Annette, the store manager to discuss what had happened regarding the ants, she also told me that I was lying and that they have never even seen an ant there. This girl is totally bat shit nuts. I plan to contact the health department next. read more

My husband eats lunch at the Mount Airy NC store on a regular basis. We both have been frequenting this store forever and it just seems the management at this store does not care at all about her patrons. If you get a correct order from here you should feel special. He went there today and placed an order and reminded the girl to not forget his cookie (which they do on a regular basis). The manager rudely came to the window and make a remark about him Always asking about his cookie. Well, if you would bother to get the order right in the first place there would be no need to remind you. This store has gone down hill considerably in the last couple of years. This is the absolute trashiest place eat in mount airy. We have had the worst experiences here... the employees are rude and hateful. The food is always left out and nasty. They get more orders wrong than they do right. The only reason we kept going back was because my wife loved their food. The final straw for her was when we went for the buffet and they had no food on it after we paid for it. I tried getting the attention of the workers while they intentionally ignored me and my wife. That was it. I was very irritated and just asked for a refund. Absolutely pitiful. Here's a tip: I'm not sure what the older lady's name is, but she is a HATEFUL manager. Get someone else. Also, get some workers that actually do something. One of the last times we went the worker talked about all the trouble he was in with the law and his prison experience. I went to this KFC to get some good fried chicken. When I arrived, the guys working were so rude and tried to act like thugs. You could barely understand them. We were gonna get the buffet but everything looked like it had been sitting out forever. When we finally ordered our food, which took 20 minutes, we sat down. The chairs were so sticky. I had to put napkins underneath me. In the back of the resultant, it smelt like a public bathroom. The bathrooms were so disgusting. I could tell they were not cleaned in a while. The food however was all switched up. My mom ordered a 5 dollar box, and in my box I got her sides, and she got mine. My kid got the kids meal and we paid for an extra biscuit. We didn't get the biscuit. When I went up there and told them, they were hesitant. The chicken in my box was so greasy. My Mac and cheese had black specks of something in it. My cole slaw was good. We have stopped by KFC in Mt. Airy many times. Today we decided to go through the drive-thru instead of going inside. We looked at the KFC website (for the Mt. Airy KFC Location) to see what was offered on the $5 Fill-up they advertise on tv. We knew what we wanted so we told the person the numbers. She told us she didn't have one of the numbers. So we told her what we wanted despite the numbers not matching up. We heard in the person's voice that she was getting frustrated and really didn't want to help us. At this point someone else in an aggravated voice told us to "just tell her what we wanted and she would get it for us." But my husband being a patient man just told her what we wanted again. When we got to the window, we showed the lady the information we had been looking at when we ordered. She gave us a smirk and told us "well our menu has changed." The appropriate response would have been - I'm sorry, for the confusion but we recently changed our menu." Good customer service can make a business or break it. You shouldn't ever talk down to people under any circumstances. My husband was totally embarrassed by this time due to the confusion, and the person's attitude. When we got home and started to eat the chicken, it had no taste. It just tasted like we had cooked it without adding even salt and pepper. We threw the chicken away after a few bites.
