THIS IS A REVIEW FROM AN UBEREATS ORDER…read more This was my boyfriend and I's first time trying Yoyo chicken after hearing great things and we were really looking forward to it but was horribly disappointed. (TLDR - we both got sick) Placed an uber eats order for tenders & fries and it came fairly quickly so the chicken was still hot & crispy, though the waffle fries we ordered were steamed together so it was kinda soft. The tenders look like they were flattened then fried which I appreciated because that means theres more surface for the seasoning & extra cripsy. However, my bf who ordered the Original said his was bland & tasted plastic-y ( i thought it was ok, underseasoned but not necessarily plastic). My tenders were supposed to be Very Hot but it wasnt particularly spicy and had a slight acidity which makes me wonder if i got the hot lemon pepper instead? There was definitely seasoning though because it was visibly reader & coated in an oil that but it wasnt particularly flavorful. (I recently got Famous Daves and will say its not as flavorful as their Hot). The main issue came after when my bf suddenly felt unwell and said his stomach hurt, we originally figured it wasnt related to yoyo chicken and was a fluke because I felt okay and this was the only meal we shared. However, hours later both my bf and I woke up from stomach pain and were pretty violently ill. (Ill save you guys the details). Unsure what happened because we heard great things (albeit from a different location) but I honestly dont think we will risk trying yoyo chicken again

The staff were friendly and attentive, and I had the chance to meet the owner, Bobby, who was very approachable and took the time to introduce himself. My interactions him and his team I would rate 5-stars. I value supporting Black-owned businesses, which made the visit even more meaningful. One piece of constructive feedback: I ordered fried whiting, and the fish I received did not appear to be whiting. The fish was okay overall, but I would have appreciated being informed if it was unavailable so I could have chosen something else. I'm currently avoiding red meat, chicken, and pork and eating fish only during this Lenten season, so I'm especially particular about my food orders. Because of that, not receiving what I requested was disappointing. For that reason alone, I'd rate the food 3 stars. Because the overall experience was pleasant, I will give a 4 star rating--as I do plan to return to explore other items on the menu. I might order the whiting again, but will confirm the order before leaving and will return to sample more of the menu, especially since my parents love barbecue.

The French toast was burnt, when asked how was my meal , I told the waitress my French toast was burnt, flat and tasteless. She told the cook, her response was " I didn't have the bread I normally use so, I used regular bread and I couldn't do anything about it (burnt). " ARE YOU KIDDING ME, you send out burnt flat Wonder Bread and I should be ok with that. Didn't ask if I wanted something different or adjust the bill or tell me you didn't have French toast. Any of that would have sufficed. I try to support but some make it really difficult. Oh, the shrimp and grits were good, that's what the two stars are for. DO BETTER PLEASE

It is not just a takeout spot like the original in East Meadows, but more of a one-stop shop for locals. Other than all the great savory and sweet British pot pies and other English products in the freezers, they have a steam table of Latin cuisine once you walk in, and a large pizza oven in the back. Looking at the menu, you will be shocked at the prices because everything looks pre-pandemic. The weekday specials were simply insane. I posted a picture, but listed the specials below for your convenience. Monday - 2 pastas for $12 Tuesday - 2 sandwiches for $12 Wednesday - 2 pot pies for $12 Thursday - 2 salad/wrap for $12 Friday - Sicilian/Grandma pie for $15 We were there on a Monday, so I had to try the pasta special. The pastas were decent portions and each came with two bread rolls. Pasta Carbonara was cheesy and full of bacon bits. It's clearly not using traditional ingredients or top quality, but still relatively tasty. Unfortunately, Lasagna was a bit too mushy and not as enjoyable. Regardless, if you are on a budget, then you can't beat the $12 price tag. We also tried the Fish Burger, which was $4.50 for a substantial sized sandwich. Once again, the price is amazing, but the product was just okay. I wish the breading was more like an airy beer batter. Anyway, I plan to come by on a Wednesday soon and take advantage of the Wednesday special and stock up my freezer with British pot pies.

They have a full menu including fish and chips and good pizza as well. The owner Antonio is very friendly and very british. They also have other imported English fare such as black and white pudding, We've had their meat pies all of which are fantastic - steak, steak and kidney, lamb, pork mincemeat and steak and ale. I must reiterate - meat pies!!!

I have ordered takeout before but today I just needed a moment to sit and enjoy something comforting . This place and the chowder did the trick. The place has been around since the 30's so that says a lot. They do have tables outdoor under a tent but I love the nostalgic vibe of the inside counter with the little stools. You can watch them fry up all the goodies. I was immediately greeted, sat and my beautiful bowl of chowder came. The service is endearing and though my first time dining in, they treated me like I was a regular and they do with everyone. Maybe that's why they have been around so long. Good food is great but service that makes you feel like you are a regular is top tier. As The clouds rolled in the thunder struck and as the rain poured down, I enjoyed my lovely bowl of New England clam chowder. They are heavy on the fresh clams and just right on the potatoes. They do have the red chowder and their Long Island version which is a mix of the 2. This just hit the spot all around and on a day like I was having today, filled my soul. I'll BE BAck for the good fried goodies next time. Thank you!

As someone who isn't the biggest fan of tomato based soups, but doesn't always want the heaviness of a cream based soup, this is the best of both worlds. Its flavor was rich yet balanced. The cream brought a smooth, velvety body and subtle sweetness, while the tomato added a bright acidity and savory depth. Potatoes provided gentle heft and earthy comfort, while onions, celery, and herbs built a layered, homey backbone. There was a good amount of tender clams, with natural sweetness that tied everything together. We also got an order or mini crab cakes. The exterior was golden fried, with a nice crunch. The interior was more crab than filler, with enough structure that it held together. It was simply seasoned, supporting the crab instead of overshadowing it. The horseradish Dijon sauce was more Dijon than horseradish. It brought a gentle tang and little bite to add a depth of flavor to the crab cake. Also of note, when you sit down they bring tartar sauce and cocktail sauce to your table. Both sauces were honestly the best of their kind that I can remember having in a very long time. I couldn't even tell you what made them so amazing, but I must have commented at least 7 times about how good they were. There's a reason Bigelow's has been around for almost 90 years. It's a simple spot, with old school charm, that knows a good thing when it's got it, and doesn't mess with perfection. It just continues to serve up consistently good fried seafood (with a few grilled options so you can drag your health conscious friends and they'll find something too).
