There are no White Castle's anywhere near our home. When I visit family in NYC, I always try to stop in to get sliders. I grew up eating homemade food and the only "fast food" near us, that we Ever occasionally ate was White Castle. It can take a while if they are busy, but luckily it wasn't this morning. I had a few coupons and I was taking several items back home to freeze. Our server was amazing helping me figure out the best way to use some coupons and making sure everything was packed well for travel. Service was not good, very slow and order was not correct. Order 20 plain cheeseburgers and the employee placed pickles on everyone of them and contaminating them. They did offer to make them over, however we had to wait an additional 15 minutes. The ambiance was casual. No pictures taken because we consumed them before we thought about pictures. read more

Different location, same model... Reviews do not change much I LOVE SLIDERS!!! I have always loved their sliders.... This is the home of the original slider, everything else is just an imitation. This 5 star review is not going to change anyone's feelings of White Castle but gives me the forum to say just how much I enjoy this place. This restaurant is big, bright, plenty of windows and clean! Parking is easy and easy access to and from Hempstead Turnpike. Food is fresh... I have never had one of their burgers that looks like it was sitting around for a while... The can't, the place is too busy. There were so many people coming in to pick up orders and going to the drive through window. All team members are friendly and quick to react to the customers walking in the door. Their fries and onion chips are also a crispy treat. If you're a WC fan, try this location... you will like it... If you're not, no location will work for you. I am incredibly impressed how WC has changed their menu over the years to accommodate the changing tastes of their customers. They even have a new veggie slider. Extremely disrespectful, rude, impolite employee working the counter around 9:30pm on 8/30. I didn't catch her name, but she's an older woman dressed like she was going to church after her shift. Possibly the manager, which makes it even worse. I walked up to the counter and she saw me from her periphery, yet refused to make eye contact or acknowledge my presence. I stood there for at least three minutes waiting for her, or any other employee, to check in with me. They all refused to look my way, as if they were trained to do so. Then, someone else comes in and stands in line behind me, and this woman had the audacity to look past me and help the man behind me, at which point I interrupted to ask her "excuse me, am I invisible?" She then told me that the order I was picking up wasn't ready yet. There's no physically possible way that she would even know that I'm picking up a mobile order, or which order that would even be, but instead of taking accountability, she continued to act childish and venting to her coworkers about me while I'm still standing right there. It's quite possible that this experience was racially motivated, as this employee and the customer behind me were both of the same race, different than mine. What I know for certain is that that disgusting excuse for a human should not be working a customer-facing job. White Castle corporate, do better and get rid of that monster. read more

It's been years since I've been to a White Castles restaurant and since there are only a handful left I stopped in. The menu is so broad with Mac & cheese, chicken rings, and desserts on a stick, but the one thing that stayed the same is the little square burgers covered in onions, with two pin the little white box. I ordered a chocolate shake, it was excellent; it was nice and thick, perfectly flavored and a size small was pretty big. The other thing that has not changed is the long lines at the drive through late at night, 35 minutes to get to the order window was a long time!!! Bruh, if you grew up in the 80's or 90's, this was the ONLY place still open to hit after the club at 3 am. There was something attractive about those greasy belly bombs. I always got a double cheeseburger. Pro tip: ask to have your burger steamed. It might sound weird, but the slightly moist bread adds a nice character. Helps the bread meld with the melted cheese. Whatever you call them, they are known and loved by a dedicated fan base, like me, who will go out of their way to get some of that greasy deliciousness. The Hempstead location is handy for when those late-night jaunts with the gang leave you hungry on the way home. That is where White Castle shines. I honestly cannot tell you the last time I physically entered a White Castle location - I always use the drive through in order to consume my guilty pleasure in solitude... This drive through is always quick and efficient unless, of course, you get some fat bastard in front of you who wants a suitcase full of cheeseburgers... My personal favorites are the double cheeseburgers and onion rings. Fries can be hit or miss - sometimes on point, sometimes a soggy shit-show. Prices have gone up over the years and what used to cost like $1.35 is now pushing $7 The taste: well we know what they taste like and what the side effects are (there is a lot of truth to those rumors is all I'm going to say) and yet, we still buy them by the bagful. Multiple visits here and nothing changes. Ordering from the app and coming to pick up your order does nothing to speed up the experience. Plenty of staff behind the counter but service is slow. The person who finally asked to take my order was wearing a headset and talking to someone in there also. She never made eye contact so I had to guess that she was talking to me. I'll start this by saying I live in California and haven't had White Castle fast food since I was 10 or so. The service was excellent and the restaurant itself was in decent enough condition. To say I was Disappointed by the food is an understatement. I ordered a combo of fries, milkshake and four sliders. Good things first... the fries were sufficiently crispy and very hot, I can say this was pleasantly satisfying and decent enough. May fast food places are slinging warm at best almost soggy fries so good in them for having decent fries at least. The vanilla milkshake was ok. Not too think to drink with a straw but not to liquified that it's like drinking milk. Mediocre milkshake but not awful. To say I was Disappointed by the burger slider is an understatement. The flavor was burnt grease mixed with mystery meat. I was not expecting anything amazing but a bad basic hamburger from almost any other fast food place is better the. What they provided me with. The buns were ok and seemed steamed well. The onions/pickles made it taste worse. The meat/burger was very unappealing and I tried to power through more than a couple bites and could not. I thought maybe one of the four or a couple maybe were just old... or sitting around for a bit. They were all the same I only had bites of three of the four sliders and tossed the rest in the trash. I now know that nearly any other fast food option is better than White Castle and will most likely not be back. Iconic white castle is difficuly to criticize, but in this case, this scathing review came on a Tuesday night crave. I ordered a dinner snack of four double cheese, 8 chicken sliders, sack of chicken rings, sack of fries, large fish nibblers, and a large iced tea. Basically it costed $51.42, with my focus on the four double cheeseburgers. One star off for the 30 minutes to get through the drive through. One star off for forgetting 4 double cheeseburgers ~$9 lost One star off for giving me some orange drink, when I asked for iced tea. The reason why I have not given it a one star is because it was probably on me to double check the order before driving away. Anyway, this night's crave has been ruined, and hopefully taught me a valuable life lesson of checking the bag. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE LOCATION! Ordered from the app and husband went in to pick it up. They told him it wasn't paid for, so he gave them our debit card. I told him I already paid on the app so he went back in. They kept insisting they show that it wasn't paid for, even after showing both the email confirmation that says it was paid for and our bank account showing both the charges pending. They refused to give me a refund, so now I have to dispute the charge with my bank because they are incompetent and lack any common sense. My mom brought home White Castle for lunch. On her way home she picked up my brother and his first reaction was "did you fart?" .. when I got home I opened the box and I began eating the burger and it was crunchy. It had bacon on it which I did not order. They had hard bacon pieces leftover on the grill. This place needs to clean their grills these lazy ass workers. read more

It's White Castle not an elegant sit down restaurant. Still this location deserve 4 stars in my book. The staff was very friendly. They welcomed me and my mom and daughter. Lots of fast food places just get you off the line as quick as possible without so much as a hello. A smile goes a long way in my book. The food was delicious. Again, not a gourmet restaurant but we knew that walking in. Sometimes you have a hankering for some sliders. Yum! I also really liked their clam strips. I don't go to white castle a lot, but when i do, it is for one reason. I go for the milkshake. They make them thick and i mean thick. People have told me that you can take the lid off and turn it upside down, and it stays in the cup. However, i have no intentions of trying that out. What if they are liars or what if their is a cup defect? Chances i will not take. Had a belly bomber when i was there. The staff was great, the place was clean, and the food was fast. I love the food but the customer service is horrible including the manager Destiny. I went in on March 1, had to go back I was missing my fish nibblers and three of my chicken rings-out of 6. Destiny the Manager as she called her self acted like I was lying why would I go back for three chicken rings. She was trying to refuse me and made comments like "I don't have time for this" and "I can't believe". This is the worst White Castle I have ever been to. They are charging customers more than the price on the menu. They also don't know how to apply a coupon. I bought a case of 30 cheeseburges which is 28.80. I had a $3 off coupon. They charged me $30 for the case and then did $2 of and $1 off to equal the coupon. I told them their sign says 28.80 and that's what they have to charge. She said no. I took a picture of their sign to show her and she said that is for something else. I asked for the manager and she said she is the manager. We also ordered a sack of fries and a sack of onion rings and got home and found them half full. Also didn't have 30 cheeseburgers, had regular ones mixed in. She was very rude and finally reimbursed me and told me to go. White Castle! The 2am spot after a good party night that everyone remembers, when you forgot what you did the rest of the night. My earlier memories of White Castle was when my Father use to take the family there. I've been to many White Castles on Long Island and in New Jersey. I must say the one that feel like home to me is this location in West Hempstead. I use to go a lot and the staff knew me and were always friendly. They keep it clean and there's a lot of space inside. There's nothing like a sack of ten with cheese of course and onions on top! Those mini, square,cheesy, gems of New York have saved me more times then I can count. However as we all know there is a penalty that must be paid for eating these gifts from the heavens! I don't want to go into detail, but you should all know what that penalty is by now. I would gladly pay the penalty for everyone on this planet if I could eat them as much as I wanted with becoming a balloon. I treat myself every so often and truly indulge myself.
