Really solid KFC in Schenectady. No traffic jams in the drive-thru. All the menu signs are up to par and easily legible. The kid at the take-out window was a real alley cat; enjoying the view of the areas goings on, on the Main Street. KFC sandwiches + wedges and drinks were heaped,hot and full. Absolutely filthy. This wasn't the dining area it was the kitchen. A cup was lying on the floor, dirt and grime everywhere, and the floor looked like it hadn't been mopped in days. The other side was even worse but I couldn't grab a picture without being noticed. You can only imagine the mice, rats, and roaches running through this place. We recently ordered from them through DoorDash. Our order was not complicated and the receipt was clear. The order was completely wrong. Instead of fries we got corn. Instead of two potatoes we go one and a side of Coleslaw. The bag also was not sealed and the chicken was small pieces. We will not be ordering from them again. honestly this place shouldn't even get a 1 star review they should just get a 0. i ordered food for delivery and didn't even get the correct order to begin with, i then got a refund for it since it was not edible for my family either. chicken was not cooked the whole way. i then went and ordered for pick up and they still got it completely wrong giving me yet another refund in the same night. the employees didn't care and seemed like this happened all the time. ended up not getting any food from them due to extremely poor service and poor food quality. place should be shut down by the city or health department as well. mice where seen in the kitchen as i approached the counter to tell the manager about the issues, they continued to curse me and my son out and not care about anything, their job, the food, the customers, anything. 5PM on a Sunday Evening----- Food-Food was not what it should have been, normal 3 piece order has a leg, a back and a breast. I received 1 leg, two backs. Very, very greasy, gelatin like texture between coating and chicken. Service, it was clear the staff is not trained, organized or provided leadership. Orders that were simple routine items on the menu were stumping the employees, they all had ear pods in and could not seem to hear what any customer requested. The floor space in the prep area was littered with bags, cup covers, napkins. The hand wash sink looked like it has 10 years accumulation of lime or mineral water buildup, not clean at all and in full view of customers. They allowed me initially to sit at the order board in drive through for nearly 10 minutes, I finally drove up to the window, the employee has his back to the window playing on a cell phone, the window was open, I said excuse me 3 times before he turned to tell me I had to come inside to place an order. This is the second time in 3 months drive through has been not functioning . There were 6 employees working no excuse! Ambiance is a JOKE! Filthy, floors covered in water and grease, unsafe walking surface in customer area. Looking at soda machine surfaces, counter serving surfaces, tables and chairs it is clear no sanitation or sanitizing is performed. NEVER AGAIN!!! I believe the Health Department needs to visit. Went here after class. Never will I patronize this restaurant again. The food is chill, how is my food cold this isn't a deli. Teach the staff to do proper temperature checks. Just tried to grab a quick lunch item, and was greeted with "Sorry the drive thru is closed, you'll have to come inside and order" over the drive thru intercom. The food is what it is, it's KFC, you pretty much know what to expect. The service and overall attitude is some of the most pitiful I've ever seen. They frequently ask you to come into the building to order claiming the drive thru is down, but it very much seems like they just don't want to deal with the drive thru window. The woman who took our order today looked miserable, and was cold and short with us the entire interaction. They also forgot two of our sides. Just ordered from KFC via DoorDash. Got the 8 piece family fill up bucket. Although it turned out to be the 7 piece family fill up with the most expensive piece of chicken missing. Wouldn't have been so bad but I ordered via DoorDash as we just got back from a long road trip and we didn't want to go out again to get dinner. When I called to let them know that we were missing part of our order they said "well you're welcome to come down and get it". I told them that was the whole point of ordering via DoorDash because I didn't want to go back out. I don't usually leave yelp reviews but this was possibly the worst service I've ever had a fast food place in my entire life. First, the wait was absurd considering the amount of staff working while me and my friends were the only people in the restaurant. They proceeded to mess up every single one of our orders, after we all ordered the same thing and were very clear on what we wanted each only ordering one item. They also did not give us the full content of the boxes, but charged us full price. They were unclear on what the boxes actually contained, and were blatantly wrong on what they told us was in the boxes vs what came out. The place was also not clean, and there was a large puddle that staff apparently decided just not to clean up. They did not have utensils out, and trying to get a staff member to get utensils was way too difficult. I also do not understand how a place that serves almost exclusively chicken and fried items can fail to have ketchup. Even the straws were too thin to actually be able to drink effectively. The fries were soggy, and the chicken was not that good. The only part of the meal that was even close to being good was the biscuits, which they neglected to put in half of our boxes. It also left 2/4 of us with stomach aches very shortly afterwards. Overall was a terrible experience, and I'd have to be pretty desperate to consider going to a KFC ever again in my life. read more

If you like good old fashioned KFC Chicken in a bucket, it's right here in Downtown Schenectady. Sometimes you just want comfort food and there's none better than the extra crispy fill up, an 8 piece bucket, 2 mashed potatoes, gravy, coleslaw and 4 biscuits. This was our first time getting delivery. Delivery was on time but a bit confusing. We received our text from the driver (no picture) we t to the door and it wasn't there. I had already sent a thank you (text) and got a "your welcome" text, went back to the door and the food was there. It arrived hot and ready to enjoy. I'd do delivery again. Went there to the same location two times prior, one take out from inside and one drive through. The take out was a good experience. The drive through, not so much. Didn't get what was ordered and didn't feel like I was treated respectfully. It was like a bunch of kids messing around and my order and presence at the drive through window was defiantly an inconvenience and burden to them. Plus the chicken was original recipe and it was a soggy, mushy mess. Extra Chrissy is much better there. Don't bother with their Mac and cheese. You can get better from a box. But the mashed (aka fake - but love them!!) are perfect every time especially with gravy. Same with the biscuits. One last comment on the chicken. It is sad that in our 8 piece there was 2 GREAT breasts, 2 over sized thighs, 3 drumsticks (about a fryer chicken size) and a wing (Cornish Game Hen size). A wing that small should have been an extra "bonus" piece. Will try next time to add special instructions, "no wings". read more

I don't know what they're smoking down there but I went through the drive-through and ordered two #6's (3 strip five dollar fill up boxes) one with mashed and one with slaw. I get home and I have two mashed. Today I went there and ordered the same thing, One with mashed one with slaw. I get home I got one small and one bowl of gravy. People, lay off the pipe or at least get our orders as correct as them hair and nails!!! Food is always good though just hasn't been correct lately. Fed up with the State St, Schenectady KFC. Ordered food tonight to take home. The order included 2 potato wedges, picked up the food at the end of the counter, asked about the potato wedges since they weren't on the receipt. I was told they didn't have any potato wedges in the entire store. I asked why I wasn't told that when I ordered as now I need two more sides. I was told to go back to the register and order them. I'm not the type of person to put in reviews. This is in fact my first yelp review. But after the incredibly bad service I received at the Schenectady NY KFC, I had to say something. First, I placed my order. No issue. Come up to the window and they asked me again what my drink was. I told them again. They then gave me my drink with no ice. When she came back to the window with my change, (which she dropped some coin out the window of the drive in) I gave her back my drink asking for Ice. No problem. She came back and there was literally one ice cube in my drink now. As for the meal, I wish I could review it. But there was a black hair on the chicken so that kind of turned me off from eating it. At least there was cole-slaw in a sealed container right? Well, unfortunately there was no fork or napkins to eat it with. Luckily i was able to rip off part of the box to use as a scoop. Very disappointed. I've been to this branch before and its always something. Will be my last visit there. read more
