It's been while I came to Bronx, great experience. End up here because I wanna try the biriani. It was good , not the best ! I also got some rasgolla as well for my family so they can try at home. Restaurant is smaller then I expected, clean & organized tho. Stuff were very helpful, I was following their attitudes towards some irritating desi customers! I gotta say they handled the situations pretty well. Seating there me personally was getting irritating towards the customers actions but the stuff were still very nice & calm. I so appreciate that, what an excellent service I didn't use the restroom because while I was washing my hands before eating I can actually smell the bathroom from outside . Made me almost puke, that's why I took 1 star away ! Hopefully this will be fixed sooner & next time I come back I can add back that star . Because they do deserve all the stars ! Heard a lot about Khalil Biryani House and thought to check it out. Let's just say I will not be going back. Nobody was wearing a mask or gloves. People at the counter was touching everything and then touching the food. We went there to order biryani, but just ended up ordering just tea, which was ok. The staffs there are not the friendliest. Takeout order. We got the weekend kacchi biryani after being hyped by a relative. Once I tried it, it was underwhelming and a bit on the dry side. I will say if I had this specific biryani somewhere else other than NYC or where there are no bengali or desi enclaves, I would probably rate it higher. But for NYC, I've definitely had way better kacchi biryani and at much cheaper prices. However, they were all in Queens so maybe expectations needs to be adjusted accordingly for Bronx. read more

I have been here before and Im not sure why this time it took such a long time for the waiter to come to us. I had to wave him over twice and it wasnt a great experience. The restaurant was also not packed at the time because it was a Monday evening. In terms of food, I wouldn't say this is anything great. We tried to eat more of the halal Chinese option so we had Thai soup, with chicken and shrimp, shrimp fried rice, and shrimp curry, lollipop chicken with gravy and for dessert, falooda. Unfortunately I did not get to take pictures of the food as we were very hungry since we had to wait for a while. The restaurant is way overrated. And they're customer service is awful!!!! We ordered some tandoori dishes in advance & even paid a deposit. Food was meant to be ready by 11:30am on a Saturday as we needed it for guests coming to the house. Went to pick up around 12:15 pm & not only is the food not ready, the restaurant people tell us that it may take 1.5 hrs or more to prepare the food. Is this professionalism or what??? So why didn't they call us to let us know that they couldn't handle the order?? Imagine if that's all the food we relied on for our guests? Apparently Khalil Biryani received a big order for a picnic or something, so they just put our smaller order to the curbside. They did give our deposit back, but the total lack of professionalism, courtesy, ethics-- goes beyond saying. I've been on the HUNT for a good Indian restaurant in my neighborhood and I have finally found it! My dad was in the mood to order some Indian food and we decided to try this place out for delivery and I'm so glad we did. Not only was the food neatly and thoughtfully packed but the aroma brought into our home was so delightful...hahaha is that weird? Nevertheless, the food was so fresh, clean and delicious. My tastebuds have finally grown to appreciate spicy food and the chicken tikka Masala from here definitely has a kick...my parents ordered two of these for their dinner and I dipped my paratha into the sauce and my gosh, so good. Attached you'll see our massive order of two chicken tikka Masala entrees, one veggie samosa, four naan breads, two chicken patties, one veggie patty, one fried chicken piece, Chana masala, vegetable biryani and paratha. First time trying paratha and I love it..I've had my fair share of roti and naan and this bread lover was so glad to find yet another tasty carb but the naan was also fresh and great. I think my favorite thing was the vegetable patty and the samosa...the patty was just so perfectly flaky and the samosa was filled with potato/veggies and a good amount of mild spices. The serving sizes are great portions, we had so much left over. And there's so many great vegetarian options. Tried it out today coz we happened to be in the neighborhood. Place is nice to sit down in with family. The owner seems to like to post pictures of himself with local politicians ‍.. something to look at to pass time as we waited for food. There is a full Desi menu but we wanted chinese food so ordered the lollipop chicken / sesame chicken / beef with broccoli / Szechuan beef / fried rice. Everything tasted good .. freshly made .. szech beef was spicy / beef with broccoli was not .. lollipop chicken is not like sagar in queens but our kids liked it .. The reason to not give 5 stars is main course took over half hour to get. I am a Bangladeshi American and here is my review of Khalil Biriyani House, Bronx. I would give Khalil biriyani house Bronx NYC 0 star if I can. It is an embarrassment to Bangladeshi food. Reading about Mr. Khalil and his opening of the Biriyani house, I visited his restaurant in Bronx NYC where we personally met him. We had ordered the restaurant's signature dish which is "Beef tehari", "Biden Biryani" among other items. The food was terrible. Tehari was floating is mustard oil and was very overwhelming. The "Biden Biriyani" which Mr. Khalil named after President Biden was bland and tasteless. Mr. Khalil wants to draw the attention of celebrities from the Indian subcontinent and politicians from NYC and I deem it to be good. I like the attention he is drawing toward the Bangladeshi community. All the hype about great fusion Bengali food is deceptive and false in my opinion. There are many good restaurants in NYC that are much older in business and serve great food and have great service but, the only difference is, other restaurants are probably not drawing the attention of celebrities or politicians and that is fine with us diners since we want good service and food. To name a few, Alauddin sweets of Astoria Queens, premium sweets, Shahjalal restaurants and there are few more. I had also ordered food for my house for a house party. I had spoken to Mr. Khalil and ordered food. I had called him several times to remind him about the order up until the day prior to the pickup of the food and I also had gotten the pricing. He personally confirmed that all was ready. I informed Mr. Khalil that I would be traveling from another state for the food. The day I went to get the food I met with Mr. Khalil in the restaurant and told him and he inquired inside the kitchen. Waited a while. Then found out from someone else that except for a few of the trays, none of the other trays for the order was not prepared. There was no apology from Mr. Khalil. I had guests in the house and I was dependent on this pre-ordered food. I found Mr. Khalil and his services to be irresponsible, not caring, and lacking customer support skills. I will be changing my review on Google and other platforms and will never visit this restaurant. I advise for Mr. Khalil, to stop worrying about getting awards from the politicians! You are not doing any service to the Bangladeshi community by it. Give us great food and service. We the diners could care less if you are friends with the senator of New York or not. Quality of the restaurant's services, a great Bangladeshi food that reminds us of our beloved country (Bangladesh). What is the point of opening a Bangladeshi restaurant? Did you envision great Bangladeshi food or do you want to market bad food and ruin our country's name? We have a medium-sized celebration at work and the guest of honor requested Indian. I decided to order from Khalil Biryani House because the other reviews I read and their proximity to my work. We told them we needed to feed 40 people and that we wanted Samosas, Tikka Masala, Lamb Curry, Dal Makhani, rice and naan. They asked a very reasonable price and boy did they give us huge helping of great food. Everything was delicious!!! I usually do not judge any restaurant for just a simple reason and because no one is perfect. my family loves food and we go out twice a month at least. But last night I have a terrible experience in this restaurant after 4 years (almost 35-40 visits exclude Catering). I am not expecting a 5 Star service here but I really expect decent customer service with decent quality food especially when food cost is a little expensive and use some fancy name. We always order the same food. Mix Thais soup, Chicken lollypop, chicken Tikka Masala, Beef sizzling Mix Fried Rice and finally any desert. first, we notice utensil and napkin is changed and these are bad quality. then lollypop sauce is not good, Soup came but no side(other sauce to use in soup). then fried rice came and not good because smell Bad. we request to change and we notice he gave us the same rice with extra cook because rice has now burning smell. and you can guess if a dish requires 20-25 min cook then how he can give us same food within 5 min. we notice the waiter is not ok and ask him and he said, he is on the floor since 11 am and we were there 9.30 pm and it is only 2 tables in the whole restaurant. I did not say anything the whole time and I ask him to give us a check and also a to-go box for fried rice. I sometimes mention to people, please don't judge any book by seeing its cover. Our food is the best food in the world.it is true that our community knows how to cook food but does not know how to eat and how to serve. We cook a dish for about 2 hours and eat within 5min. courtesy is contagious and I wish my community should practice. I am totally disappointed not because I paid the bill, I am disappointed because my friends and family love that place and now we need to find another place where customer service is the Value for the business. So this is not only this place this happens. there are some other Turkish, Indian, and Lebanese restaurants that are doing the same things. and it's true, when you make more money by getting those pandemic loans (like ppt etc) then you don't care about your business. I was craving Indian food and this was the only one near me with decent reviews. I got chicken tikka m. My food was delicious and smelled amazing. I was a little sad that my food didn't come with rice but it explain why they charge extra for rice. The nann bread was also delicious. The prices here are also affordable. The people who work there are also friendly. I will definitely be coming back here. I did takeout. There is street parking but most of the spaces there were taken. I wouldn't recommend double parking in the street because it is a narrow road. They also gave me some garnishes but I'm not sure what I am suppose to do with them.
