Salmon Poke Bowl, pistachio & tiramisu gelato, miso
    Timo F.

SUSHI: Good & fresh! sauce: heavy, blah .5 MISO: No, only if you're desperate GELATO: Meh, not worth the $$. Get better& cheaper Talenti / Ben& Jerrys from the CVS across the street. SERVICE: Cordial, professional AMBIENCE: Outside- 5 Inside- 2.5 (Mens Bathroom2) I love that the sushi is prepared right there on the spot. I got the salmon Poké bowl with a miso soup, & my friend got a California roll. I also got some gelato because it looked amazing and they had most of my favorite flavors. The poke bowl was very good, the veggies all fresh & crisp & plentiful. unfortunately, the sauce was very meh/ blah... and tasted like very flavor- free mayo with some Sriracha or something thrown in for a tiny bit of heat. I don't know why i didn't like the mayo, because normally I'm a huge mayo/ miracle whip -based sauce fan, and I eat it on a lot of things that most Americans find weird lol. at least the edamame was plentiful and cooked to perfection. my friend reported her California roll was very yummy. However, don't order the miso unless they start making it in house and you can see them brewing with the fresh paste. This $2 miso was definitely one of the most basic cheap dried packets you get at the grocery store. I buy different kinds of those all the time and I used to work in a tea shop with miso so I'm familiar with all the different levels of instant miso and this was wasn't even mid range instant quality. I would've have complained this much if it hadn't been almost room temperature. And lastly, we come to the Atlani Gelato: MEH The presentation is on point... The flavors are relatively standard for gelato, but the selection is plentiful and very good. However, the texture and taste was completely MEH for gelato, especially gelato this expensive. I get much better tiramisu ice cream at Aldi's and Lidl ! Tiramisu is normally bursting with that raw cacao flavor, coffee liqueur, and if you're lucky some chunks of ladyfingers. I don't know what this tasted like. mostly cinnamon ice cream: The texture was a little gritty , it wasn't velvety, smooth, or rich. It tasted like regular ice cream but whipped in a blender. I also got pistachio; that was a little better, as it tasted like pistachio ice cream... But aside from the real cracked pistachios on top , it was a tiny step down from your standard Ben & Jerry's or Talenti. Again, get your gelato across the street from CVS.

Khin's sushi is located in Navy yard, in the same eatery as Wiseguys pizza. They offer ramen, poke bowls and sushi. I stopped by here for a quick meal to go. I placed my order with the worker, who rang me up and made my sushi and constructed my bowl right away. There wasn't a line, so I was able to get my food fairly quickly. I do like that the rolls are made and rolled when you order, as opposed to being prerolled. I got the tuna poke bowl, as well as the dragon roll. Both of my food items were fine. Nothing to write home about, but I think it's an okay option if you just happen to be here. Tbh, I think the sushi at Whole Foods tastes better to me. My other gripe is that there wasn't much tuna in my poke bowl. If they fixed the ratios, I may be inclined to order here again.

The poke bowls are simply not enough food to satiate an adult of any size. The to-go package for the bowl is only 1/3 full. It is a laughably small portion of food... and most of these ingredients are so cheap (white rice, cucumber, etc). We would love to be a repeat customer, but this simply is not enough

This is solid sushi. Feels like a local spot, tucked away right by the splash park/ice rink depending on what season it is. Sushi is yummy, put together in front of you. Not the largest menu but I have no complaints. This is where I go for sushi nearby in the Navy Yard area, and I like it a lot.

I craving sushi for days and this place did not satisfy my need unfortunately. I should have known by the low prices the the food was going to be mid. Not a fan...... this place would be great for first timers.

The advertisement and photos from the sidewalk and store were colorful and lured me in. I was starving as I headed back to the office from an offsite meeting. I had high hopes for the seafood mix poke bowl for 11.99 and after taxes around $13. I ate everything bc I didn't want to waste my $13, but alas even HT does a better job down the block. It really was like an amatuer chef went a little bit of this and a little bit of that, add a teensy bit of tuna and salmon and a few shrimpies and called it a poke bowl as long as you added some poke sauce and Sriracha mayo. Yes, the bowl looked pretty, was edible, but nothing to rave about. Will I come back? Unfortunately, not for me...

This has to be the first time I have ever had a to go order that looked exactly like the advertised picture. The sushi was absolutely delicious and I felt bad as I ate it messing up how nice it looked. They were quick and friendly even though I stood there waiting for a few minutes before they noticed me. It was also weird placement of the bathroom which had no light in it which freaked me out.

I absolutely love this place. I frequent it probably too often! The sushi is SO fresh, the poke bowls are SOOO good and the staff is very friendly. Writing this review makes me want to order for dinner I already am craving it again! The prices are very reasonable and it's so close. Highly recommended!

Anyone who lives in Navy Yard knows that that we lack good sushi options on this side of the highway, so when I saw Khin Sushi was opening up in the Wiseguy/Altani space, I knew that I had to try it. They don't currently have the menu hanging so you need to grab one of the menus there. I wasn't craving sushi in particular today, so I decided to go with the tuna poke bowl, and I was not disappointed. For $10, you got a lot of fresh, tasty tuna and toppings on top of well cooked sushi rice. It was not the greatest poke bowl I've ever had, but considering the price it was well worth it. I'm looking forward to coming back over the next few weeks to try to sushi itself, which will hopefully live up to the hype I've seen from other reviewers.

Salmon poke covered in Mayo. They also put Mayo on the rice under the vegetables. So much for a healthy lunch.

The ambiance bright and cheerful -- an upscale seafood place complete with an upscale, creative nautical theme. The food was great and came out fairly quickly, though we didn't feel rushed. With all the hype, we had to try the Maryland crab "crumpet," a tiny (maybe the size of a silver dollar ‍), toasty, round cranny-toast that had a decent amount of crab on top, though at $9 *each*, we couldn't decide if it was worth it. The crab was spiced nicely, though. One of our fave dishes was recommended by the server -- the tilefish kinilaw, a ceviche-adjacent blend of chopped light white fish, red onion, cucumber, mango (I think), & chives blended in coconut broth. YUM! It was served in a dish with lettuce cups, an interesting vessel for the fish-yumminess. We also shared a beet & berry salad with crunchy, candied pecans with a yogurt dressing. Yum! The entree (we shared) was surprisingly really good - another rec from our server -- the Massaman fish curry with fresh herbs & house-made, grilled roti, an interesting naan-like bread that proved great vessel for scooping up the decadent curry gravy. YUM! We also shared a Caesar salad with garlic croutons. It was good; nothing terribly special, but good. Really great meal. Great service. Great ambiance. We'll definitely be back. There's a really nice patio dining area facing the marina. We'd like to try that when the weather isn't so ghastly hot.

The shrimp hush puppies were just hush puppies; it was not worth the price. The Hawaiian poke looked beautiful, but was just okay. We ordered the lamb chops and curry. It took an HOUR for us to get our food. When it came my lamb chops definitely did not look like they were worth $60; they were extremely small and did not have a lot of meat on them. My best friend said her curry was fine, but it was nothing special. Our waiter was nice, but we often found ourselves trying to look for him and waiting for him to return to our table. The manager originally told us we could have our drinks free (a Shirley temple and a virgin mojito). We had to advocate for ourselves and ask for at least an appetizer off because we had waited an hour for our food. Overall, this place is nice for aesthetics but not for food quality and quantity. My best friend also asked for her food to be boxed and never received the boxed food. We waited so long to get our servers attention throughout the night, so we decided to just leave without the boxed food.

Also, upon tasting, there was a very foul odor to the cava. The restaurant was extremely busy, with the line out the door, so I understand it was a hectic day. However, the service was exceptionally slow. It took over 30 minutes for our order to even be entered into the system, and we waited about an hour for our food, including the appetizers. Our server, Brandon, started off okay after we were seated, but as the evening went on, he seemed distracted and less attentive to our table. With a large group that included children and a baby, we definitely needed more communication and support. The standout of the evening was the management team, especially Brandy. She was truly all hands on deck and went above and beyond to assist us. She was kind, customer-focused, and worked hard to address concerns and make sure guests felt taken care of. She honestly provided the best service we received during our visit. The food had several highlights. The char-grilled octopus was delicious and my first time trying it. The salad was top tier, and the shrimp fettuccine was probably one of the best dishes on the menu. The deviled eggs were good but could use a little more seasoning. The fish sandwich needed more sauce, and the fries and shrimp po' boy were both enjoyable, especially with extra sauce. One thing I didn't appreciate was the layout and accessibility of the restaurant. The space felt overcrowded, and the tables were packed very tightly together. As we were leaving, I had my son in his stroller and there wasn't enough room to comfortably get through. I was disappointed that our server didn't offer to help adjust the table or create a path for us to exit. I also noticed there weren't ramps that would make it easier for strollers or guests with mobility challenges to navigate the space. Improving accessibility and spacing would make a huge difference in the overall experience. Overall, the food and Brandy's exceptional customer service were the highlights of the visit. However, the long wait times, overcrowded seating, and accessibility concerns kept this from being a higher-rated experience.
