I had walked past here so many times and it had been tempting to go in and see what was good. This bistro is pretty darn fancy and we were greeted immediately after we walked in. It was more or less busy right after 2pm which was ok because we got the table that we wanted. They set this restaurant up very nicely, and there's a lot of things to look at, besides your phone obviously. I got the basic California Roll platter, as well as, some Thai tea which is my absolute favorite. My friend ordered some kind of sushi with crab meat which looked even more delicious than mine. They had so many great things that I wanted to try, but we didn't have unlimited time unfortunately. Our Server was well aware of that, and he followed-up with us several times, which was nice. I would absolutely recommend this bistro if your into Thai food and exotic sushi.

A friend local to the area recommended this spot so I decided to give it a try for an early evening dinner on a weekday. The ambiance is light and airy, with a small market tucked away in the corner of the restaurant. Luckily, we came in during happy hour so we were able to order an assortment from items from that menu, ultimately deciding to start off with the Lychee Pop cocktail. The flavor was refreshing and crisp, almost resembling a lychee lemonade - highly recommended and something we'd definitely order again. Next, we ordered the Crab Rangoon and the Spring Rolls from the happy hour menu. The Crab Rangoon was made perfectly, with a light, crispy exterior and a creamy interior. While the Spring Rolls were well made, we both agreed that there was a touch more cabbage than we would have liked and would have preferred more of an assortment of other vegetables. Our main courses were phenomenal. I ordered the Drunken Noodles with beef and the ingredients tasted fresh, the spice was on point, and the noodles themselves were toothsome. My friend ordered both the Spicy Basil Fried Rice with chicken and the Onyx Dragon Roll. The Spicy Basil Fried Rice was delicious - The rice was perfectly cooked and the dish itself was well seasoned with an interesting smoky flavor. The Onyx Dragon Roll was packed, with my friend remarking that the extra layer of seaweed added both flavor and support to the dish overall. I'd recommend The Pantry to anyone in the Georgia Ave. area looking to have a pleasant, filling meal for a reasonable price. The service was straightforward and helpful, the food was flavorful, and the ambiance was casual and relaxed. 5/5.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place already. Shame! I love pantry. It is a classic go to neighborhood spot. The staff are amazing. Incredibly friendly and helpful. I have ordered takeout for Here for 4 years and finally dined in. It was a nice experience. The ambiance is cute. The store has great items, and as usual, the food is excellent. They have a good happy hour and the cocktails were really tasty. I have ordered a lot of things from the menu and can't complain about any of them. A word of warning - the spice ratings are serious. I think I have a high spice tolerance - this place puts that belief to the test. The sushi, noodles, rice dishes and even the empanadas are all solid options. This is a go to place to order from if we have a group of friends over and we don't feel like cooking. There is something for everyone. There are also plenty of vegetarian options.

Great little place! A group of us had reservations on a Friday night and enjoyed sharing spring rolls, sushi and other dishes with each other. The interior is comfy and not pretentious, but there definitely isn't a ton of seating. But service was great and the food was good. I will have to check out the literal pantry on my next visit! The passion fruit margaritas are a must-try!

Had a GREAT first family style dining experience at Pantry Thai. All dishes and apps were hot, flavorful, presented well, and had the perfect sidecars/sauces. Standouts include the pad thai, drunken noodles, and dumplings. Yes, everything else was great! Service and the GM were attentive, polite, and without error (which we sincerely appreciate). Everyone left happy.

Despite its location on Georgia and New Hampshire, right across from the Petworth metro, Pantry-- with its minimal sinage-- is a hidden gem. Even some locals I know in the area, have never heard of, or thought to, coming here. Even their Yelp is unclaimed. It's not normal Thai American food -- is solidly authentic Thai. Uniquely, Pantry offers amazing Thai stews and soups you can't find elsewhere (beware that some are very thing l thick and rich that if that's not what you're liking for, ask them).

Atmosphere: Pantry Thai Bistro and Sushi is named really appropriately -- there is a pantry (grocery section), a Thai section, and a sushi bar. It felt very homey and casual! Service: Our server was nice, and our food came out pretty quickly. Food: We ordered the Red Curry with Chicken and Chicken Pad See Ew. The Red Curry was flavorful and slightly spicy. The Chicken Pad See Ew was pretty good! It was soft, saucy, and flavorful. We weren't sure if the portions were small or if we were super hungry coming in! Overall: We had a positive experience at Pantry. The food overall tasted authentic and left us wanting to eat more! We'd love to try some of their sushi in the future as well.

I tried this place last week with my wife and we were both very impressed. They had happy hour deals until 7pm that we took advantage of so we ordered cocktails (sweet tea lemonade, passion cooler, kimono whisky sour, and kimono shiso), edamame, seaweed salad, spring rolls, chili wings, three fried rolls (salmon, tuna, and whitefish), and two mini rolls (salmon avocado and spicy tuna). Still slightly hungry we then ordered the drunken noodles with beef and Kapow chicken which we had plenty of leftovers of. They also have delicious sparkling Japanese juices and we tried the Ringo (apple) flavor. The atmosphere is interesting as it is a restaurant inside a small market and our server was wonderful. We look forward to returning to a new favorite spot in DC.

avocado eel roll and futomaki :) 10/10

The eel avocado roll and futomaki roll were amazing. The spring rolls were also really good and they offered a great portion. Good service and atmosphere is very welcoming. Will definitely try again!

Everyone in our group ordered something different, and everything we tried was so good. I got the Thai vermicelli, and it was absolutely delicious! I also got to try some of my friends' dishes, and everything was flavorful and really well done. I'm usually pretty nitpicky when it comes to coconut curry sauces, but it was so perfectly balanced and flavorful. It was easily some of the best Thai food I've had in the DMV (honestly!). The khao soi had good flavor, and it came with rice. The chicken wings were for my son, he said they were the best wings he's ever had. The beef curry had good flavor, but the beef was a bit overcooked. Service was a little bit of a miss. When the waiter first came, he asked us for our food order. However, we wanted to order drinks first. I was able to order my cocktail, however, the waiter left before anyone else at my table could speak to order a beverage. Food came out very quickly. This is not the type of place where you would want to enjoy drinks and food over a period of time. However, if you are super hungry, your food will definitely get to you quickly. Restaurant was crowded, but not super loud. Overall, I would come back for the food, I just wish that I could have more time to enjoy my restaurant experience.
