I had this place on my to-try list but never got around to trying until today. I was in the area and was picking up some food from another restaurant when I decided to pick up some popular items from Khinkali House. After reading reviews, I went with the khachapuri and steamed beef khinkali. It took about 30 mins for the food to be ready for pick-up (although I did call right when the restaurant opened so that could be the reason). I had to stop by the Galleria nearby to pick up something, so by the time I arrived home, the food did get a bit cooler. The khachapuri was still warm and flaky, although smaller than I had imagined. If you are a cheese lover, you will love this. The bread was very flaky and the insides were nice and oozy cheese. The khinkali was also very good - it reminds me of Xiao Long Bao, but with different meat and spice. Be careful when biting into it, as there is so much juice ( way more than what I'm used to from Xiao Long Bao) , which I really enjoyed. I did read from the reviews and from online to not eat the top dough part of the khinkali, but my sister did not take my advice and bit into it. She does not recommend anyone to repeat her mistake. I'm keeping this place on my to-try again list, because I can only imagine how the food would taste if I had it piping hot and fresh. read more

I wanted to try a cuisine I'd never had before. I was meeting up with a friend who lives near Glendale. I never had Georgian food before, and didn't recognize any of the items on the menu, so I decided to try Khinkali House with my wife and my friends. Naturally, being called Khinkali House, we got khinkali. I got one cheese and one beef khinkali. I also got lentil soup, okroshka, the honey cake, and an Armenian coffee. The khinkali are designed to be eaten with hands, as one of the other patrons explained to us. The other patron also recommended adding freshly ground pepper, so we did that as well. As instructed, I ate it with my hands. It was like a big soup dumpling, full of soup on the inside, and it was super delicious. The cheese khinkali was ok, but the beef khinkali was absolutely amazing. The lentil soup was thick and very creamy, I love the crisps they serve with the soup. The okroshka tasted like the yogurt and cucumber dip in Greek cuisine, as a drink, so it was ok for me. The honey cake was great, as was the Armenian coffee. The atmosphere is very friendly, and the food is great. Never had Georgian food prior to this experience, and can't wait to have it again. read more

I am new to Georgian food my friend keeps talking about it .I heard so much about Georgian food and been dying to try it. I stumbled on this restaurant while I was in Glendale and I decided to check it out . We got a the okra and chicken skewer , Khachapuri it's a Georgian cheese bread and mushrooms marinade . the mushrooms khinkali to die for so delicious and melt in ur mouth The texture the flavours delicious. I absolutely enjoyed every bite .this is new to me and I was so excited to try it . And I am so happy that I did. The staff is great all nice and polite. They all practice covid 19 protocol and wear mask . Parking there is plenty of parking street and some parking lots. If I had ordered the only Khinkali Ground Beef, it would have been 5 stars Khinkali were delicious. But we have ordered also Khachapuri and Lamb Chops. Guys, almost fell down laughing from the size of the portions. I have never seen such small dishes anywhere before. Please find the photos attached to compare. We love coming here for some good khinkali. To be honest with you, we have tried quite a few khinkalis in Georgia (the country! and the birthplace of khinkali) and these come pretty close to the best ones we've had. So they ARE authentic and very delicious! We prefer the boiled kind with beef - this is the original way to eat those - with the cucumber/tomato salad. The sour cherry compot is great with it as well as the bottle of red Kindzmarauli. If you wanted to venture into the fried ones, then I recommend the one with mushrooms. There is quite a few other things on the menu, but we stick to these classics when we go. You definitely want to try! read more

Amazing food! They have the best khinkalis in all of California and amazing bbq skewer plates. The dumplings are very soupy inside, it's perfect especially during the colder weather. Ok, actually it's not Georgian food (except for Khinkali). I've been to Georgia 2 times and tried local cuisine. It's actually one of my favorite cuisines, but if you miss real Georgian food, choose different place. Khinkali are fine, but anyway they are twice less tasty than in Kutaisi (Georgian city of Khinkali) Cheese plate is mostly made of vegetables, there's almost no cheese Khachapuri (cheese bread) is completely different from the real ones! It's not khachapuri at all. Actually there are many types of khachapuri: 1. Mingrelian (cheese on top) 2. Imeruli (cheese inside) 3. Adjarian (filled with cheese and eggs) 4. Penovani (square and puffy) 5. Gurian (like Imeruli, but with shape of ) I hoped to find at least one of them, but they have only fried cheese and bread. And it wasn't delicious at all Prices are not reasonable for portion sizes and taste. I had bigger expectations about this place. Today is November 11, 2025, we visited this establishment... I've been here several times before, I can say that the khinkali and service were perfect before... Today I'm very upset.. The waiter came up and asked how many people there were, I answered 6, four adults, two children... I'm sitting with my wife and waiting for my guests and they brought our khinkali... I ask the waiter why they brought it hot if there were no guests... he allegedly didn't understand and ran away from us... then they brought a cheese talerk.... I died of shame... it looked like a bird had pooped... very small, some kind of incomprehensible cheese that had probably been put on the table several times already.... I ordered olives, they brought two portions at different times and I returned one of them back... then I wanted a six and closed it.. then I see there were 2 portions of olives... and a huge percentage for service that I didn't I saw it...in short, I won't visit it again and I don't recommend it to anyone.... read more

What is one food that crosses all borders, seas and mountains and is revalent in every single country? A dumpling: a mound of dough often filled with meat, vegetables or cheese and either fried, boiled, or steamed. We have pierogies, wantons, gyoza, kreplach, ravioli; and the list goes on and on. Georgians have their own famous dumpling, the khinkali, which is often filled with a protein and spices; either steamed or fried and is very similar to its Chinese counterpart in appearance. Although I am Celiac and unfortunately am cut off from the dumpling world (waaa); I DO love Middle Eastern Food. Khinkali House in Glendale specializes in these dumpling treats but also offers other traditional fair I was eager to try. Unfortunately, I had one of the most uncomfortable dining experiences of my entire life. Khinkali House is located minutes from the Glendale Galleria by the major intersection of Brand/Broadway on Artsakh Avenue. Although access is down a brick paved alley-way in between buildings (this is actually quite charming!); street signage is available and is next to underground (paid) parking. Initially, I was optimistic about my visit to Khinkali House as I found the alleyway and Khinkali House's outdoor seating to be quite inviting. Oh boy, was I wrong! The first red flag happened immediately at the hostess stand as my dining partner and I arrived on a Sunday afternoon. The young Middle Eastern hostess barely even looked up at us, didn't smile, say hello and seemed as disgusted as if we hadn't showered in weeks. We were seated in a full restaurantof Middle Easterners and were literally the only white people in attendance and trust me: everyone let us know we were outcasts with stares. Our table was a small wobbly table for two with a bad leg by the bathroom. I mean literally: next to the bathroom door. Both my dining partner and I immediately knew there was an issue because we were not of Middle Eastern descent (let's stress that I am Eastern European from Hungary and am super tan with olive-skin, dark brown hair and eyes: I am actually as dark as the Armenians in the restaurant if not more). Staff walked by our table what felt like hundreds of times and we waited about 15+ minutes before even receiving menus and having drink orders taken by a young lady waitress who was equally rude and obviously would rather us go anywhere else to eat. We should have just left then and there. The menu is NOT extensive and Khinkali House is probably best for the actual khinkali dumplings. Otherwise there are some appetizers, skewers, salads and soups to choose from but offerings are limited. We had to wait another 20 years before our order was taken but when the waitress finally decided to visit us; we ordered the Cheese Plate appetizer (chanakh cheese served both plain and herb-crusted, fresh tomatoes, radishes and herbs); while my dining partner ordered that Pork Skewer ($10) and I went with Lamb Chops (New Zealand Lamb Chops, marinated and grilled - $15). The Cheese Plate is very rustic (I am used to this from my own Hungarian plates) and consisted of a whole tomato slices, sliced radishes, some whole basil leaves and the chanakh cheese. Although not exactly what I think of when I hear, 'cheese plate'; I enjoyed the garden-fresh element and the cheese spreads were delicious almost like a cross between feta, ricotta and goat. The lamb chops and pork skewer arrived together served on a lavash-style bread served with sliced, fried potato slices and a red dipping sauce that was a glorified ketchup. My dining partner literally laughed at the rabbit food portion of the food: it was basically a snack. However, the potatoes were extraordinary and my lamb chops were delicious - not the best I've had but quite tender and tasty for $15. I don't eat pork products so didn't try the pork skewer but my dining partner said it was only so-so.  It took another lifetime before we could flag down the waitress for the check which was still followed by "Get out" - looks from everyone else inside the restaurant. She's lucky she got tipped. Long story short, I am 100% accusing Khinkali House of discrimination and racism. I haven't felt this uncomfortable or poorly treated in ANY of the other ethnic restaurants in Los Angeles and I've lived here for almost 14 years at the time of this review. If you view the other reviews, other ethnic groups and skin colors have also had similar complaints and experiences so it wasn't just us. Khinkali House apparently should be avoided unless you're Middle Eastern and truly needs a business revamp. Their food isn't that great anyway. I had been wanting to try this place for about a year and finally brought myself on a date to do so. I love it's almost hidden area, it really makes you feel like you've unlocked something special. I ordered the mushroom and cheese Khinkhali. Very delicious! I was not expecting the cheese to be that good! The salmon skewers were grilled to perfection although I will say one of the four pieces isn't taste as fresh as the others but it's forgivable. I was also given a small bowl of salty chickpeas to start. I wasn't sure what to do with them but I will say they were a fun thing to munch on and mix with my choices! Definitely recommend this place for a different experience. Service made me feel like I was a fancy person out on a fancy person lunch. The menu itself was very a la carte. You want bread? You're paying extra, pickled vegetables? Extra. Their bread is good so we got it and it didn't disappoint. The rest was pretty meh. Had one of each dumpling, beef, mushroom, and cheese. Had the beef boiled and the other two fried. Fried Cheese dumpling was my favorite. We also ordered the lentil kofta and chicken satsivi. First off I did not know they were served cold. The lentil kofta was incredibly bland. Some pickled vegetable or sauce, anything would have been nice. The chicken satsivi was very tasty. Glad we paid for bread or I don't know how we would have eaten that-it definitely needs to go with something. Dumplings were all good, but again, they could have used some extras, sauce, pickled veg, anything to give it some oomph. We also had the mushroom medley, good, but still fairly bland. In hindsight I wish I orders the extra sides, but that all adds up. Maybe with a larger party you can get more items that help give the dishes some flavor, but for two people, it got expensive pretty quickly. This is a Georgian restaurant and I don't mean the state of Georgia. The restaurant is located off the street in between Brand and Louise. It is not a very casual table, I was glad I was not in shorts or flip flops. We were immediately greeted and sat. There are many tables inside and a few tables in a covered patio area. Since it was a pleasant night we sat outside, the patio was a little dark but it was pleasant. The bus boys were helpful but the waitress was in charge of the entire restaurant on Tuesday. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. We ordered the popular dishes and thought it was an interesting change of pace. We had to ask for the bill. My favorite dish was the Khachapuri, it was served on a skewer. The thin bread crust was crispy and the cheese inside was melted and flavorful. I could have ordered my own and not shared. Yum! The dumplings were large and tasty, we were told to use the top as a handle and not eat the handle. The traditional way of boiled was perfect for the soupy beef, we even ate it on a spoon. These dumplings are the size of your fist and served either boiled or fried and filled with juicy meats or delicious cheese. Our favorite Georgian dumplings place!! If you are ever in Glendale this is the place to go! If you love dumplings you have to try khinkali style dumplings they are soooo amazing!! My bf and I discovered this Georgian restaurant a couple of years ago and we are still very crazy about their soupy dumplings! The nice restaurant is kind of hidden because it's not located on a main street but rather tucked away inside a plaza. The place is very spacious with plenty of round tables perfect for big groups. There have two options for dumplings either fried or boiled, both of which are very good and each dumpling is only $2.50!!! They only have beef, mushroom and cheese type of dumplings. They also have other entrees like kabobs which look really good but every time we come here we are simply craving their very soupy yummy dumplings! I ordered all the different fillings and both fried and boiled. First of all the dumplings are the size of a baseball!! And they are very filling! I think my favorite was the beef boiled dumpling and the cheese fried one. The boiled dumplings are very chewy and light. You have to be careful when eating them because the filling is very hot. Also, the tasty soupy juice inside the dumpling oozes out with every bite and the challenge is to try and eat the filling without making a mess!! My first foray into Georgian food. My husband and I wandered in after seeing a movie at Laemmle nearby and strolling to enjoy the block's holiday decor. The boiled beef and pork dumpling was the star of the evening - flavorful, soupy, light, and tender. The bread stuffed with greens was really tasty too, especially with butter spread on top. We also tried the boiled mushroom dumpling which was very earthy and not as complex tasting as the beef. And we sampled a couple fried dumplings - beef with pork and cheese. While the fried ones were tasty and easier to eat by hand (the traditional way according to our wonderful server), we preferred the boiled beef dumpling across the board. My Moscow Mule was nicely balanced. Everyone on the staff was very sweet and our server didn't miss a beat. It felt like visiting another country or going to a friend's house from another culture who was excited to share foods from their homeland. This is my first review in the usa. But I really liked the khinkali house. I didn't expect it to be so good. We were with my wife and friends company on Sunday, very nice and friendly hostess found us a table despite the fact that it was full and people were waiting outside. Then we were served by a waitress Kalina and she was very helpful and attentive, I noticed that the staff works harmoniously, which is important to me. We didn't have to wait long We ordered khinkali with meat and cheese in boiled and fried form, we absolutely loved it! It is definitely worth a try, I will come again and call my friends. We also had pork and chicken and lamb skewers, they were also delicious, but we thought they were small and there were not enough potatoes. There should be more of these delicious dishes. We saw the big dumpling sign outside, and was excited to try out a new place. We arrived to a fairly empty restaurant and was told that there was only one table available (right in front of the front door). We were told that there were open tables in the patio, but when we walked outside (by ourselves) we were told the only open table was the one by the door. Then we were told that we could wait five more minutes for another to open and after waiting more than five minutes, they almost gave our table to another group that came in after us. It was a cold and inauspicious start to dinner and left me wondering if it's because I didn't look like their other customers? The service of the rest of the evening was generally inattentive (having to ask twice before we even got water). We hoped the food would make up for the service. 1) Bread basket: $3.50 (cold bread and dry lavosh) 2) Dumplings (Broiled beef and fried cheese): Both looked big but had very little filling, seasoning, or flavor 3) Skewers (chicken wing, sturgeon, shrimp): The chicken wings were small but well seasoned. The sturgeon was overly cooked. The shrimp, medium sized and only 3 pieces (for $12), was so overly cooked that it was dried out and chewy. I have not met a dumpling I did not like. True story. So, when my friend suggested a dumpling house for dinner one night, guess who was the first to RSVP? That's right, this girl. This was my first foray into Georgian dumplings and my mind is blown. First of all, these dumplings are like mutant size packed to the skins with filling. Second, the flavors were tongue tingling. Every bite was delicious down to the nub. Ground beef dumplings (boiled)- Imagine a Xiao Long Bao, but 10x in size. When you first bite into it, make sure you are slurping up the broth inside. Adds so much depth to the dumpling. Meat was seasoned well. Ground beef dumplings (fried)- Dumpling skin was crispy and filling was still juicy. Similar to the boiled dumplings but less broth inside. Mushroom dumplings (fried)- This was my favorite of all the dumplings we ordered. The mushrooms were tender and flavored so well. Cheese dumplings (fried)- Deep fried cheesy, gooey deliciousness. The cheese was oozing out after every bite. Khachipuri- Again, cheesy, gooey awesomeness. Need I say more?! Steak skewer- A little skimpy on the meat but flavored well. It was a little tough and well done because of the small cuts of meat. I would suggest skipping this and ordering another four dumplings. It's almost the same price. Sturgeon skewer- Nice size portion but it was grilled a little too well for my liking. Blinchik (mushroom)- The mushroom filling might be the same as the mushroom dumpling filing. Really wanted to love this place. In short, the food is mediocre and waste of money. Main flavor profile is salty & bland, portions are super tiny (laughable really), and items are overpriced. Entree items are essentially appetizer/small snacks. We got the lamb chops (literally baby food size), mushroom & beef dumplings (couldn't distinguish the two-just tasted like salt and top dough was inedible), & shrimp (salty). Presentation was sad & portions are nonsensical with stingy sprigs of onion, potato, and lettuce pieces here and there. Kind of insulting. Best thing about this place are the servers and bartenders. They are friendly and the star is solely for them. Don't be fooled - I came here based on the high Yelp-rating, but I read the detailed reviews after my visit and it's clear some reviewers are being too generous (one Yelper said they would "never come back" and gave 3-stars?!). There's an abundance of better quality food options in the area. I am no stranger to dumplings and kabobs. I spent a lot of money just to leave hungry, and ended up cooking for myself at home. I love the ambiance of this restaurant. Was excited that my daughter brought me here as a welcome treat. Unfortunately, Irina, who served us has an attitude problem, rude with a terrible customer service. After taking our order, I asked her, I would love to have my wine first thing. She responded, you can go to the bar and they will give it to you right away. Lastly, I asked the bill from this other server (who looks like mexican), and Irina came with the bill placed it on our table and said she'll be back. We were waiting.... and finally recognized her sitting at the bar, eating!! Ok... until finally the other server (with a blonde hair) came and I said, thank you that you replaced her (our waitress), and she replied, oh! She's taking a break! I'm like in my head, REALLY?! She could have had the courtesy to inform us like, someone will be with you shortly or I'm on my break now somebody will be with you shortly, whatever! Instead of letting us wait.... now I must say that her type of customer service is how you lose a LOT of customers! I highly suggest that she needs to take customer service training.
