Loved both the ayce bbq and hotpot. Our favorites were the kalbi and loved that they had taro for hotpot boil. We had the tomyum and also the vegetable. Both were delicious, and I added glass noodles options for my hotpot. I will come back because it's awesome to do both at the same time. Also, it's nice to have both thick and thin pork belly offered! So good.

I have been wanting to try this place since they opened. When you walk in, there's a variety of tables and they seat you. They ask you what kind of broth that you want and tell you it's all you can eat and you grab the food at their buffet. The selection is staggering. Lamb, pork belly, kalbi ribs, seafood, and more! You bring these small plates back to your table (be careful, you get full quick and there's a sign if you overcook they'll charge you) and wait a couple minutes for the grill to heat up. They bring out the soup to you and I'd let that heat up too. It comes out hot but I like to let it start boiling before I add so it doesn't slow the process. In the meantime, you can eat some of the snack like foods to the left of the raw buffet meats and vegetables. Don't forget your sauces! There's a sauce bar in its own little buffet table to the left of everything! I asked the nice man who sat us and cashiered for us where he got the tables and he said he got them in Korea special made because he likes Korean bbq and hot pot. I believe this is the same person who owns the Saigon Fusion 8 near the subway based on the car magnets. If so, this family is brilliant because they're bringing foods not easily available in this area. All this time, I've been making it at home or trekking to Tacoma and now it's right in our backyard! Totally worth it. Yes, it's pricey, but it's Korean BBQ AND hot pot! Absolutely delicious, clean bathroom, and wonderful presentation. A true must try!!

1 Star - Unsafe, Unsanitary, and Overpriced We paid $155 for two adults and one child (even after a 15% military discount), and I honestly wish we had walked out before touching any food. Cleanliness? Absolutely unacceptable. * Utensils had caked-on old food still stuck to them (see photos). * The water pitcher lid was moldy and grimy. * My daughter's ice cream cone was stale and molded--we caught it just in time. Food quality and safety? Major red flags. * Meat selection was extremely limited for a Korean BBQ. * Only 5 vegetables, and none were fresh. * A tray of raw fish sat out warm and uncovered, right next to raw meats. * We had serious concerns about cross-contamination and overall food handling. The worst part? Everyone in our group ended up sick with stomach cramps after eating here. At $155, this wasn't just overpriced--it was a health hazard. Until they drastically improve cleanliness and food safety practices, this place is not safe for families or anyone with a stomach. Photos attached for transparency.

Split broth option for hot pot! Left: Tom yum. Right spicy beef

Our first time trying out a place with both hot pot and KBBQ and we were pleasantly surprise. Food: this is Vietnamese own so the flavors lean more Viet than Korean for the KBBQ, but it is still delicious. There are many options for the meats and veggies at the bar. They also have additional items on the menu for extra cost like wagyu beef, udon, etc. Ramen and rice (I think) comes with the AYCE cost! We tried the wagyu and although we don't think it's A5 since it didn't "melt in your mouth" it was still really tender and they gave big pieces so it's definitely worth the $18. I loved the hot pot broths. There's only three options you could choose from: beef, veggies, and Tom yum. I'm originally from Seattle so I was spoiled with many Asian cuisine up there and it's been hard finding good Vietnamese food in Olympia - but the broths here are so comforting. A taste of home. There are some hot food and dessert options that we didn't look at like chicken wings and egg rolls. They also have a wide selection for drinks. We tried the DML and the Pink drink. The pink drink reminds me of a strawberry milk with a hint of Italian soda. DML is fruity and refreshing, a tad hit or sour but not too much. Both were yummy! Although they had plenty of veggies, I would suggest offering radish and the KBBQ salad rather than straight romaine lettuce. Service: they were super attentive. Every time I went to the buffet bar someone was there checking to refill the food. We got checked on many times if we're doing okay, helping us change the grill, and help managing the two stove/ grill things as we were switching between KBBQ and hot pot a lot lol the owner came out to said hi to us and told us if there's anything not up to satisfaction to let him know and he'll fix it right away, since they've only been open for a few months. Love that! Ambiance: super clean and beautiful decor. The played great music and the owner said they're expanding for additional space! Overall 10/10 service and food. Would definitely recommend!

It was an okay experience. We tried both the hotpot and the grill. The price was pretty steep for what you're getting, $48 per person and they charge an extra $1.50 for each bowl of rice/noodles you order. Probably won't be back because of the price point and what you're getting for it. I hope they figure it out. Besides what was mentioned above.. the service was good. Our drinks were refilled quickly and the grilled plate swapped out with a clean one.

Unfortunately, I was looking at an outdated menu on Yelp, so the spicy tofu soup is no longer on the lunch specials, AND if you want a "lunch special," it needs to be specified when placing the order. I assumed that because it was lunch time, I would be paying the lunch pricing? That wasn't the case when I arrived. Parking seems to only be on the same side as the barber shop (which i think is connected to the restaurant as well?). When I walked in, I didn't really check out the place. Seems like a classic no-frills Korean restaurant. An ajumma (아줌마) appeared at the register after a couple seconds (lol that is the first description that came to mind). I informed her of my phone order and she brought out the food and rang me up for around $55? I was thinking, yikes, that's a steep price for a spicy tofu soup and a lunch special of the galbi and mentioned it to her. She told me that the portion made is not the lunch special and next time, make sure to specify that over the phone if I want the Lunch special or dinner portion. She clarified, while acting out the mannerisms, of customers that would complain about the Lunch special, because they would want a dinner portion instead, so she just places general orders as the dinner portion. (I can already imagine the Karens she must have received for her reaction, which is understandable, but at the time, I was just slightly irritated since I was hoping to pay a cheaper price.) I am assuming after this experience, there is a difference in portion size for the lunch and dinner pricing.. Besides the miscommunication, I can at least say that the food was prepared quickly since it was ready by the time I arrived at the restaurant (about 15 mins after I placed the order?). With the outcast weather, I was craving some soondubu, and Seoul Garden definitely delivered! The tofu portions were generous and the broth was the right amount of spicy where you can taste the flavor but it is not overwhelming. I was not expecting so many complementary sides either! They paired very well with the rice and galbi, which was thoroughly marinated in a delectable glaze. Even though I was initially frustrated that I received the dinner portion, I calmed down after eating the galbi. My son and I actually ended up devouring it.. the food was so good, I totally forgot about the pricing at the moment. Just keep in mind though, this place is not advertised as KBBQ, so you're paying for individual plates/dishes/orders that should already be cooked. I would only recommend this restaurant if there are certain staples you really enjoy (i.e. you're only craving bulgogi but don't want to go out to eat or grill it), because it is arguably just as expensive as KBBQ. But if you're a foodie that can afford it, I'd suggest stopping by to try it out yourself! :)

Our go-to order is the beef and lamb platter, crab sticks, winter melon, potatoes, and their milk tea (which comes with free refills). The broth bases and ingredients are always absolutely flawless. However, instead of just reviewing the food today, I want to share some unique insights and perspectives from my background as a former restaurateur who used to own and operate a hot pot restaurant myself. The True History of Chongqing Hot Pot: Humble Beginnings In China, Chongqing hot pot was originally the ultimate food of the people. Back in the day, it was famously called "1-to-3" (1托3)--meaning meat dishes cost 3 RMB and veggies cost 1 RMB. Traditional Beijing mutton hot pot (Shuan Yang Rou) could never compete with that kind of price-to-performance ratio. True hot pot history spans only about a century. Chongqing hot pot originated with laborers working along the riverbanks. Because they couldn't afford premium cuts, they used various animal offal for dipping. Take Huanghou (黄喉 - Ox/Pork Aorta) for example: it is actually the main aorta of the animal. It requires meticulous, layer-by-layer peeling because only the middle layer is crunchy and edible. Similarly, while a cow has four stomachs, only the third stomach--the Omasum (牛百叶 - Beef Tripe)--is used for hot pot. All of these ingredients require intense, repetitive processing before they can ever hit the table. Why Hot Pot is Secretly an Exceptionally Healthy Food At its core, hot pot is a remarkably healthy way to eat. Nowadays, so many people suffer from cavities and tooth decay. When you boil it down, it stems from one major issue: eating too many carbohydrates. A Quick Evolutionary Detour: During the Paleolithic era, humans didn't eat rice or noodles because wheat and rice had not yet been domesticated. Once the Agricultural Revolution began, the proportion of carbs in the human diet spiked dramatically. When carbs enter the mouth, they break down into simple sugars. When these sugars meet oral microbes, they ferment into organic acids that attack our teeth. Human tooth enamel is incredibly strong--second in hardness only to diamonds--and under normal circumstances, it is designed to last a lifetime. Carbs destroy it. For example, Easter Island once had the highest cavity rate in the world; due to a lack of fresh water, locals relied on cassava and sugarcane juice. The massive amount of carbohydrates caused their teeth to rot starting at age 14, and by age 20, most had virtually no usable teeth left. I'm rambling a bit, but my point stands: because hot pot emphasizes fresh meats and vegetables over heavy carbs, it is inherently very healthy! The Science Behind the Flavor Another fascinating characteristic of Sichuan/Chongqing mala hot pot is the continuous simmering process. As the ingredients are repeatedly heated in the broth, the aromatic molecules are continuously re-released. Because of this chemical process, the longer it boils, the more fragrant and flavorful it becomes.
