Came here for Easter because it wasn't full and they had a big table for all seven of us. Service is friendly and our waitress smiled every time she approached our table so you could see she cared about our experience. There are three grills on the big tables so you can spread out and don't need to wait too long for your food to cook. It's All You Can Eat, so you will leave full. I come here every so often because it's local and not a bad spot to gather with friends. Staff can be a hit or miss at times but at least I come for the food. I really just enjoy the overall experience of korean bbq and the sides are always 5 star. We will not go back again. They now charge a mandatory 18% gratuity on every check. I think they forget that I'm cooking the food myself and their customer service has always been horrible. They are so rude. They act like you are bothering them if you need something I absolutely will not support a restaurant that charges 18% gratuity fee. We used to go about once a month, but for the past year, we've been driving to Tacoma because of the issues. Tried it again today because we didn't have time to drive almost an hour for food. Same bad service and being forced to pay for service I didn't get. You also have to be very, very careful and keep a copy of the original itemized check that they bring you because twice when they have brought me the signature receipt to sign they've added money to it and it doesn't match the itemized receipt completely separate from the gratuity that they added. And then they audacity for their receipt to ask for an additional tip after they've already added an 18% The food is really good but not good enough to have to pay an extra eight dollars per plate . read more

My friend and I went in around 730pm for Dinner and the two waitresses working immediately started rushing us and kept coming to our table asking us to hurry up and order before they close at 9pm! It was a very unpleasant experience and we couldn't even enjoy ourselves because they kept watching us and cleaning up our table as if they wanted us to leave and this was still way before 8pm. My friend and I haven't seen each other in a while I'm from Houston and she lives out here so we had some catching up to do. This wasn't even possible because every time we started a conversation or stopped eating to chat they would come up to our table and just stare at us in a passive aggressive way. The bill was a bit high in my opinion especially for lack of customer service and hospitality. Food was good (that's why they're getting a two rating) but the overall experience was awkward and uncomfortable. What a treat to come here for the Korean BBQ! There were 4 of us. We chose the $30 per person meal. This included 4 kinds of meat to bbq at our table. At first I thought it was kinds of bland, but after I put the sauce on, wow! Flavor explosion. In my mouth! It seemed to take a long time to cook, so we went ahead and turned up the fire. Once it got going, it was fine. I liked that they now only give tongs to turn the meat, they also give kitchen shears to cut the meat into smaller sizes. The small vegetable dishes were great too. I could see the peppers but nothing was actually that spicy. However we do like spice! Good service, & friendly staff. We I'll definitely come back! I love Korean bbq, and #1 K-BBQ does not disappoint. We were greeted right at the door, seated quickly, and had beverages in front of us almost before we ordered them. The server was polite and informative. He explained the menu and invited us to stay as long as we desired. The delicious banchan (vegetable side dishes) showed up pronto with the steaming hot rice. Our bbq choices (bulgogi, brisket, and porkbelly) were right on their heels. Absolutely generous portions! We had a leisurely, tasty meal with just the right amount of checking in by our server. Yuuum. Korean food and all-you-can-eat BBQ in Olympia/Lacey area! It's located next to Atomy Olympia Center in the Tanglewilde Shopping Center. Lots of parking that won't ever be a problem. I didn't realize there was an AYCE KBBQ around the area until a friend suggested it one day. The restaurant had three dinner AYCE options with different prices: $22 for lunch; $26, $30, or $33 for dinner. My friends and I chose the cheapest one and began ordering the brisket, pork belly and shrimp. There wasn't much meat options that we could choose from compared to the normal KBBQ places I've been to, so we kept ordering the same things (brisket!!). The banchan (sides) are really good here. One of the workers (or owner?) said their kimchi is the best, and it was really good! The workers here are very nice even though we would need to call them to order more or get a refill on banchan/water. They came by each time with a cheerful attitude! The food was ok, nothing super special. The staff was friendly enough until the brought us the bill. They charge $5 per person if meat is left over because of waste. We finished our meat and they still charged us $5 extra per person. They gave us a bunch of small starts we didn't care for and wished they had asked before leaving them on our table. The staff were so extremely rude it was quite unbelievable! 20 minutes into cooking, the waitress came over and grabbed all of the meat out of one bowl and threw it on our grill with her hands. We were then in a complete eating hell trying to eat this large quantity of meat because there was no place to put the food after it was cooked. The food is consistently good and there is a great variety of meat to choose from. The kimchi is top notch! They have a terrific peanut paste which blends in beautifully with the meat after it's cooked! The ladies who work there are running around at 100 mph, they may not always hear you, but they sure try their best. This place is our go-to Korean joint, a bit noisy, but always fun. Which is why I mentioned USDA** The octopus was super chewy and didn't really have flavor. I did enjoy the scallops, but the waitress said that we could only have 1 per person (and there was 5 of us, also it was supposed to be all you can eat?) We ended up paying over $220 including gratuity for our entire ticket, but they charged it as 191 and then wrote in the tip for us - which I don't think they're supposed to do, it should be added to the bill with the option to tip additional. I thought that was super weird. (I'm a server at a bar) There's a 2 hour time limit for the Korean bbq which is understandable, but they served us our bill after 1 hour, and never really came back although we may have wanted to order more food. It was our first time and our last time. One of our person in our party still left hungry. Next time we'll try somewhere else with higher quality meat hopefully possibly like the Japanese steakhouse down the street if we're going to spending over $200 for 5 people. *** side note, I just checked out the other reviews, we were never given a menu other than the all you can eat menu. We ordered our first two... thinly sliced brisket molded together and frozen (not rolled and terrible quality) and steak (not marinated) and the worst quality I've literally ever had even medium cooked it was tough chewy and absolutely so hard to eat.... Barely eating this we went with short ribs. She then came back to table and said you didn't pick this one. My response was well you said we had all the meats I asked you for but at the end of the day no worries we can pay extra.... We had 3 meats and were over the quality and couldn't even do it anymore We had to ask for refills Ask for things it comes with ( I know) the soup was salty as heck and I love salt. The brisket and pork belly came out frozen and the octopus tasted fishy. The chicken came out looking literally purple which made me feel like vomiting. Below the grill/table there's a horizontal gap near the fire below the grill to cook the meat. Because of that horizontal gap, oil kept splattering on my leg. I'm probably (one of) the worst daughters out there. I haven't visited my parents down in Olympia in months so I finally made time to hang out with them for the weekend. I did not realize how long it has been since my last trip back to my home town because I did not recall a Korean restaurant taking over the building that used to be the home of Kirk's Drug. My mom noticed me eying the place and informed me they offer all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue so I knew we had to have dinner here. #1 Korean BBQ has a spacious interior with booths that are great for larger parties. They do have a bar area but I didn't get a chance to check it out. Their menu offers various dishes but I didn't really care about that...I mean, I did come here for all-you-can eat barbecue! It was a little confusing reading the barbecue section of the menu but there are 2 different prices for all-you-can-eat goodness. For $19.99, you get 5 different types of meat: beef brisket, sliced pork, marinated chicken, spicy pork, and bulgoki For $24.99 you get the same meats as the $19.99 deal but it also includes galbi, marinated beef, fresh galbi gui, beef tongue, la galbi gui, shrimp. Both deals also came with the standard banchan (side dishes), rice, lettuce, and some sort of spicy tofu and cucumber soup. This was plenty of food for just my mom and I, which was why we ended up going with the $19.99 deal. The banchan was good...but not the best that I've had. They gave us 8 different banchan which included kimchi, potatoes, cole slaw, bean sprouts, radishes, cucumber kimchi, tofu and some sort of cucumber side dish. The soup was delicious. I wasn't too sure what it was called but it was mildly spicy. When they brought out the meat, it was nicely arranged on the plate. There were also sliced onions and mushrooms with the meat. Both my mom and I enjoyed the bulgoki which was nicely marinaded. I was a big fan of the sliced pork, which was more like bacon. However, I wish they offered garlic to grill since I like to make a lettuce wrap with rice, bacon dipped in gochuchan and grilled garlic. I could care less for the spicy pork but I'm not partial to spicy pork anyways. The brisket was the least favorite for my mom and I since it was a bit tough to chew. The chicken was good as well but I have a tendency to over grill it since I am afraid of under cooking chicken in general. Drinks were pretty affordable here as well. My mom and i ordered Cabernet Sauvignon for $5. They were very generous with the wine...our glasses were nearly filled to the top of the glass. Other drinks I were looking into were the rice wine ($10) and hot sake ($8). Overall, I had a great experience here minus our grill catching on fire. I am not here for quality service but you should expect the service. During weekdays they only have one server, service was good. If you can eat lots of quantity of meat then order all you can eat BBQ which is $23.99 per person but no left over to take home and if you have excess meat left over they will charge you. I ordered Spicy Pork ($18.99) which was excellent and Beef Brisket ($18.99) Beef brisket was good but I wish they sliced more thinner. If you like garlic, ask them and they will bring you a chucks of garlic. If you come by your self to grill then minimum require to order two meat dishes. The worst korean bbq place ever. First off, we were there with two kids, and we were waiting in front of the door for 30 minutes. Server knows we are here and didn't care. There were many empty tables but somehow, they said there was no table available. I assumed maybe there weren't enough servers, so I understood. As soon as we set down, we ordered all you can eat bbq. They served side dishes and meats. However, after that order, they didn't check us out, the grill was burning, and we couldn't find servers. Even the server brought the wrong meat. One of the servers seems like no clue. Keep forgetting what we need. No refill side dishes and salad. Service was super slow. Even they were not busy. No rush hour, we were there between 2pm to 4pm. Literally don't care about customers. But we were so patient, and they brought out the check at the end. They charged us 18% gratuity without telling us. They refilled side dishes super slow, didn't do their job, didn't check our table, and changed grill until completely burned.
