I bought some jewelry from here as a gift. A day after, it broke, just from regular use. When I took it back, they didn't even bother to fix it or offer a refund. Instead, the sales person told me that their jewelry breaks all the time, and they lose money on it because they break so much. So they tell me this, AFTER they make the sale? If their jewelry breaks so much, why do they keep buying it from the same mickey mouse jewelry maker? Is that my problem? And why are you deliberately selling me defective jewelry, then telling me afterward that it's defective. Do yourself a huge favor and stay the heck away from this place. Came here looking for Indian attire for a party and was checking out anarkalis. The girl at the counter said go have a look at the discount and you will find stuff there in your size (5'8") most of this is for like 5'4". Anyhow I asked her again its for a wedding after looking at the sale items and I was after the bollywood-iest attire, so basically no discunted rack items but the real deal display stuff. Not sure if she passed judgement thiunking I can only afford clearance item rack? I went back to the girl the fourth time then asked to show me the displayed items, one outfit worked and she said look its $379.00 and we DO NOT discount! I said ok calmly and continued to try on the clothing. I actually liked it and was ready to make my purchase and wanted matching earrings. She brings these cheap, cheaper than 99 Cent store earrings with tin foil stones around them telling me they looked good... The other set of earrings were stunning, my choice was the other, altough she kept talking me to purchase the ugly ones.. I then asked other shoppers their opinon and got the honest one to go with the stunning one. After I took off the stunning earring carefully, the bell part like broke! It was loosely just held by a wire as the other earring was solid sturdy. I complained and the girl reassured, "I'll fix it," her fixing was just tighetinng it with her hands (how professional). This girl shunned me away at first to the clearance rack, when I said i'm willing to pay full price for the display items then she was being nicer... This is not how a good business runs. I will be bringing the earrings in as the hinge fell off luckily after my party! Not the best selections, I'm raiting this on customer service, in the end I ended up purchasing 2 bollywood anarkali's and they wouldn't even discount cash payers! They discounted the earrings, but it was defective to begin with! read more

Sales people are reluctant to give halfway decent customer service.They don't communicate with customers properly. They just wait for you to say, "I'll take it" They are typical Desis who have not learned the value of good customer service. (hey I'm Indian too) All of their merchandise is heavily over-priced. The only nice clothes are on the manikins and a good amount of the manikins are wearing gaudy clothes. Go to Fremont or Berkeley. You'll end up spending the same amount because of gas, but you'll have better selection and get BETTER QUALITY and there is enough competition to keep prices lower. read more

I don't know why I'm wasting my time writing this review. Whatever you do, I encourage you not to go to this shop. I would rather recommend Manisha Saree Palace across the street (even though I didn't like their selection). Khoobsurat is a total rip off and you can get even better outfits if you go to Maharani Fashions (the next city over) or even Berkeley's Sari Palace and/or Roopam Sari's for wayyy CHEAPER. All you non-Indians - I am not cheap. But, just to educate you a bit -- Indian weddings go through at least 3 changes of outfits and I do not believe in paying $300 for one very simple outfit that barely cuts it! (this excluding the purchase of our elegant bangles, jewelry and head pieces)...also note, tailoring costs, which this dump does not provide...who does that!?!?! They do not negotiate (the most commonality thing to do -- "bargaining"). Tip: Indian shops rip you off. They will tell you an outfit costs higher than what it is worth because it's "one-of-a-kind piece," but don't let them fool you...you can and will have to bargain! They get all their outfits from India for less than half the price they are selling it to you for...They are making more than 50% of profit on each outfit... People working here are very rude. The manager was sitting in the back office and when asked to talk to him, the "sales" girl said "No, only I can talk to him because he doesn't deal with customers"...WTH? Wow, what bad customer/business skills...so we made her go in the back to ask him our questions about 5 times before we left this place with nothing...everything is, literally, final sale... This place does not condone your business, and they really don't care. I walked out on them twice in the last week. Don't ask me why I went the second time... Don't get me wrong, they do have "Khoobsurat" (beautiful) pieces...but...definitely not worth your business [time and money!]. read more

Amazing selection of gorgeous and ornate saris- the whole 9 yards! Cool flowing lengha cholis, salwar kameez, belly dance cholis and dupattas. it's all very glamorous and exciting. Sizes run small. All the costume jewelry you can wear. I wore my cotton salwar kameez and dupatta today and got masses of "I love your outfit, it's so pretty!". I consider this a well spent $20. read more

Ok, three stars for this store. For the longest time, no one was at this store. I started feeling like it was a free-for-all. It was a ghost town in here...no workers, no anyone. Somebody from their other store, a salon, walked in after awhile and she had to call someone to tell Manish, who I assume is the owner, that I was there waiting to be helped. Ummm, you must have good insurance on your products if you leave your store unattended. When Manish finally rolled in, he was pretty helpful and nice. I liked the first item he showed me so I ended up purchasing the item. If you are reading this, owner, please do something about having someone in attendance. You almost lost a customer! read more

I don't know not why most people gave them bad reviews. I had a really good experience. 1. The clothes and jewelry I bought were CHEAPER than their competitors. 2. They have a pretty good collection. I went to lot of Indian stores to look for what I wanted and I finally found it at this store for a good price. And I got lot of COMPLIMENTS from my friends for both the jewelry and clothes. 3. There were two women that helped me out and they were both very PROFESSIONAL and sweet with me. 4. And lastly I liked the fact that their prices are the SAME for everyone. I would give negative stars if i could. I picked up a piece of clothing looked at the price tag and was getting ready to pay. The shop keeper said he wanted to recheck the price as the tag was not reflecting the correct price. he pulled up some other price that was double of what was in the price tag and said that was the true price of the item. Walked in and out of the place in under a minute. I asked for a yellow anarkali, the lady working there pulled out an orange one and threw it on the counter. As she's doing that, she asked what my price range was, which I think is a stupid question to ask a customer that just walked in. I walked out because of the rude lady and told the lady she was rude! I went to this place, looking for some sarees, lenghas. The salesgirl seemed very unhappy that I asked her to show me some lenghas, sarees..First she would not take them out to show. After then on asking her to take out, she took 2 out of the shelf were she had about 20 in the style, price range that I was looking for and that too not out of packaging. I was too frustrated from her sad face and absolutely no interest in wanting to sell anything. Then she left to help another customer without saying anything..I waited and when she was back..I asked for sarees again. Today morning again I got in there just to see their new selection of jewellery and clothing and the lady who works there was so helpful and has so much knowledge of everything that I had to buy one pair of beautiful ear rings. For a store that touts "25 years of customer service", they have the worst customer service policy I have ever come across in a retail establishment. My elderly mother purchased a salwar kameez that wasn't quite right for our trip to India. I walked into the store 30 minutes later to exchange it for one made of more durable material was told simply "no". NOTHING CAN BE EXCHANGED or RETURNED. I can understand a store may have a policy, but exceptions can be made. I was coming to EXCHANGE an item purchased just 30 minutes prior. They could have earned the same money and had a happy customer. There are plenty of shops that will do you the courtesy of an exchange. Skip this place. Why would you ever purchase from a store that doesn't take exchanges? read more

Really bad customer service . When I reached the store no one was at the counter . After calling out for about 5 mins I started to leave while talking on phone to my husband saying that it's strange that the store is open and no one is present . Then finally a lady came who looked totally disinterested in making any sale . When asked for a dress she said look around . Did not offer any help even once . When I asked for stone earring first she said they don't hav any and later said everything is in display . If u can find something you buy it ! I was like .. what ? I am new to the bay area, I have been trying to explore stores with Indian attire. I visited the store accidentally. The lady in the service was after me despite telling her that I was just looking around and will ask for help if needed. I ended up buying a bangle set. I wasn't allowed to try the bangle/open the package to check it. When asked what if there is a damage, the reply was "If you return it with a damage, we won't be able to return it back to the retailer, so even if the piece is a damaged one you can't return it" Seriously?? Crazy, what a bad customer service!! Do you think a customer will owe for a damage from your end? She didn't seem to respect a customer. Skip this store, I guess you have got lots of options in CA. read more

Crap...I got a salwar kameez from this shop. Collection looks great. But it is great only for looking. Stitching was horrible and started coming out after the first wear. When i took it to them, they said they will charge extra for stitching. I Paid the amount and the stitching was still horrible. I guess the person who does the stitching job doesn't even know how to handle the stitching machine. Finally the customer service was very very very bad. I really lost my interest in shopping for Indian wear. I had to fight a lot with the guys to get my dress back. read more

I needed a white salwar kameez suit for Guru Purnima. When I arrived and explained my needs to the lovely and gracious lady at the store, she quickly took out 3 pretty suits and put them on the counter. Amazingly, she knew my size just by looking at me. I tried on a couple of suits. One of them fit fine and felt comfortable so I bought it at a price that was comparable to the prices I used to pay in Chicago. I must say my shopping experience at this place was utterly pleasant; from the very friendly customer service, over their selection, to the price. Apparently timing was on my side, as they had a clearance sale and I didn't want to spend too much on my salwer kameez since I will only wear it once for the Indian wedding ceremony I was invited to. I went to all the other stores in the neighborhood for comparison but found that this store had the nicest sales associates, as well as the best selection for westerners like me. They're so rude.The variety is not even good at all either. After all the dresses they showed me, I only liked one. And as I was trying it on, the embroidery was broken! Smh.
