I immediately thought of my impending European trip coming up in a few months and thought...perhaps I should get some nice slacks to go with a shirt... A click of employees in the left rear raised their heads to watch me come in. Nothing. No greeting No welcome. No stroll over to see if I need help...I did need help. I walked down a row of garments... Most were covered in plastic...a good sign if you ask me, yet I didn't want to start removing plastic to see the fabric, I felt that would be inappropriate and employee intervention was needed. I looked up several times to either see stares at me, or total dismissal. Clearly the owner was absent! Not a good sign for service. Especially considering I'd need tailoring. I slowly walked out hoping to elicit a response..anywhere from Could we help you? Or Thanks for stopping by.. Nothing. I posted a review on yelp( see screen shot picture ) And was told " vafanculo" Italian for " go fu(k yourself " I do believe the owner is responding with anger towards a negative review, When his attention should be on his employees who came up short. We came to Peter to get my husband and my dad suits for our wedding. He came recommended by a family friend who has been going to Peter for years. Peter was great to work with. He's patient and listens to what you want. He also never pressured us to buy anything we didn't want or need. He delivers on time and makes sure that the suits are tailored exactly how you want them. My husband came a total of 3 times (once to choose the suit and twice to get fitted). We asked Peter to make adjustments to the suit and he's always given us what we asked for while also providing his professional opinion. He offers lifetime tailoring on any suit you buy from him. We'll definitely take advantage of this! I can't tell you how many suits my husband no longer uses because he outgrew them or they just don't fit as well anymore. I ordered a very special made-to-measure purple tuxedo from a company in Italy for my wedding. When it arrived, the garment was too large in the jacket and much too small in the pants. I took it to Peter for alterations, but I was not optimistic that he could fix it. To my amazement, in just a few days he was able to take in the jacket and remake the pants to fit me perfectly! He even offered to speak with the tailor in Italy who messed up the measurements! I cannot recommend Peter highly enough. He also gave me very honest feedback. Because of his amazing personality, I ended up buying a 100% cotton shirt, which he will tailor for me, to wear at a wedding in 4 days (literally called his company he uses to buy shirts in front of me to make sure it would arrive in time). I really hate to rate down a small business but sadly the fit of my 3 piece suit was far from ideal. I came here to buy a 3 piece suit for my wedding in April. Peter was very friendly and helpful and helped find a 3 piece suite in the color I wanted. While he didn't have it in stock, he got it ordered and it was delivered and tailored within two weeks. When I came to pick it up, he had me try it on for fit and he said he liked the way everything fit and basically sent me on my way. I brought up a concern with the length of the vest, as I felt it was a bit short in the back. He just told me to wear my pants higher, which I took his word on and just left. Several weeks later, closer to my wedding, I decided to try everything on again. This time being in a more brightly lit space and feeling less rushed, I noticed the pants were very baggy in the crotch and back, and the waist was also quite loose. Also, if I wore my pants higher like suggested, the length would be way too short. At this point, Peter's shop was closed for several weeks as he was on vacation until after my wedding, so I had to take my pants elsewhere to be tailored, and there was nothing that could be done about the length of the vest. At the end of the day, I was not happy with the fit of the vest and ended up having to have the pants tailored again. The only thing that fit properly was the jacket. I really wish Peter had taken more time to really assess the fit and listen to my concern about the length of the vest. I am willing to give Peter another chance in the future, as he is very friendly and sells quality suits, but will definitely pay much closer attention to the fit myself. read more

After we found a suit that fit me well we moved on to picking the proper color. He had to order the suit for me. Once it came in a matter of days later I went in to get it 'pinned' for him tailor it perfectly. My 3 piece suit included a belt, tie, and pocket square, all at a great price! I've had my suit for 3 years now, as we all know your weight can shift a little in your mid 50's. Peter offers lifetime alterations on everything you buy from him. Getting my pants let out a little bit before the last cruise with my wife had me looking great on formal nights, and the alterations took minutes. I cannot recommend this wonderful man enough! I needed an all black suit for a funeral, and since my life is almost completely devoid of suit-appropriate events, I decided to rent one. There are a lot of options, but also being lazy I didn't want to go too far. Peter Cassara fit the bill nicely in that respect. I guess due to my specific body shape (relatively large shoulders and chest compared to midsection) Peter had to select a slightly more pricey suit than typical. He said it cost $1,000, which I'll believe as I have no idea how to judge suit prices. It was black, slim fit, and was about the right size. The pants were a little long but he hemmed them. The total was $245, I got fitted on a Tuesday, picked it up on a Friday, and dropped it back off on a Tuesday. The shop itself is clean, Peter is nice and ebullient as some have mentioned, and the process was quick and easy. Obviously I hope I don't have to go back for the same reason, but if I do need to rent another suit it was pretty painless here. read more

I'm 6'6" and 250 lbs and Peter got me an amazing suit for my wedding. I started off by trying to go to DXL Big & Tall but they said I was too skinny so they sent me to Men's Wearhouse. Men's Wearhouse was happy to sell me a suit, but it was clear they were just going to give me exactly what I asked for. I was looking for an expert with opinions; someone who could tell me what would look best on me. Peter Cassara turned out to be that expert. Peter got me a great suit with an extra extra long jacket, which I had never even heard of before. I looked awesome. He gave me all sorts of good advice: 1. He said tuxes were a waste of money for my purposes. 2. I wanted a blue or gray suit and he decided blue would look better. 3. He said I should wear a bowtie, not a regular tie, since I was the one getting married. 4. He said a bow tie that was a darker blue than my suit would make it look more formal. I never would've guessed, but he was right. 5. He said I was too big for a vest-it would make me look ridiculously big. 6. He said I should wear a white shirt.
