I took my 2025 Sportage in for an oil change at 25,000 miles, no problems. Upon getting it back, there's a rattling grinding sound when I start the car. They assure me it's normal engine noises. I had our service tech look at it, the engine cover is missing and he said it's a timing chain problem, at 25,000 miles. Their tech who did the oil change completely screwed up the job and now they can't figure out how bad the damage is. The timing chain is toast, and they said they tried a "dry start", as in without oil. Now the engine is done and they don't know what to do. It went from a running car to junk. Wife went for an oil change. Later said she needed a battery and brakes through a voicemail. Paid for the oil change and went to two local shops and battery and brakes were fine. Wanted to charge 175 dollars to check why the check engine light was on..They said it was on because the battery was low. Went to 2 other shops and it was determined to be her gas cap. read more

I did not have a problem with Kia Autosport until this year. I want in because my sunroof broke and I just needed it closed so it wouldn't leak. Dropped it off and was told it would be fixed that day. I call back at the end of the day and I am rudely told it hasn't even been looked at. She said it would be looked at the next morning. I call the next day at lunch and again was rudely told it hadn't been looked at and didn't know when it would be. That afternoon I get a call and was told it would be $3000 to fix. I said I didn't want it fixed, just closed. Was told it would be almost that much to close it and it would take them 6 hours. I am not an idiot so I went and picked up my car took it somewhere else, had it closed in 30 minutes for $200. Also, Kia charged me $200 to look at my car for 10 minutes. I know it took 10 minutes or less because I got notified when my car was unlocked and from that time to the time I got a call was 10 minutes. Needless to say I won't be going back. read more

I'm really disappointed in Kia Autosport in Columbus, GA. From what I've seen and heard from current and former employees, the work environment is very toxic. According to multiple posts on job sites, there is no real job security, management is poor, and favoritism is just assumed. People talk about how management treats "their favorites" well, while others are publicly belittled or ignored. Some employees have walked out (at least 3 in 3 weeks), which says a lot. Also, the general manager (Melanie Lee) is listed on their website, but there's a serious disconnect between the polished "meet the team" page and what people are actually experiencing. Melanie Lee has a daycare for her son only and a doggy daycare for her dog Conner, but Conner may be in any office in the building. Let me remind you that Melanie Lee told a past employee either it's her job or her kids and the employee chose to take care of her kids. Kia as a company claims to have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment and bullying. But if that's truly the case, it's not being enforced here, or at least not in a way that protects everyone. It's so bad that Melanie Lee will talk bad about her employees, threatened to terminate her Human Resource Manager ass as she said, but changed her mind when the said person showed up to work. Melanie Lee often speaks of a certain employee who she says smells very bad, instead of voicing her concern to the said employee, she has other employees to speak to them. A great general manager would take the time to speak to the employee herself. At the end of the day: if Melanie Lee care about how workers are treated, I don't think this is the place to work. It's not just a bad job, it's management and majority of the employees that's still working there often complain of the treatment of fairness. It's a management-level problem, and I hope they seriously rethink how they run things. There are multiple reviews online describing concerns about inconsistent management, high turnover, and an overall lack of support for staff. Several employees have reported feeling undervalued or unheard, and some have mentioned situations where team members became frustrated enough to walk out and did. A dealership's success depends heavily on employee satisfaction, and when workers don't feel respected or supported, it affects the entire customer experience. Customers have witness Melanie Lee degrading her employees. I truly hope leadership takes these concerns seriously ad makes improvements to communication, professionalism, and internal culture. Employees deserve a place where they feel respected, fairly treated, and appreciated for the work they do. With better management practices and stronger attention to staff well-being, this location could operate at a much higher level. I always used there service dept and never had a problem. they have a great sales dept and everybody is nice. the cars i bought was 2014 optima 2017 optima and a 2024 K5 GT I would recommend Kia autosports to anyone read more

my car sat here for 65 days because they couldn't get a window (not their fault), due to the thefts of Kias recently... had to go check on it and was told it was ready (never got a call)... when I'm told my car is ready to go, I expect to be able to go right then... I trusted them to have actually checked to make sure it WAS ready... I dropped off my rental and went back to the dealership to find I had a dead battery... no one checked it... The next hour or so was them saying none of it was their fault, and that if I wanted to leave in my car, I had to buy their battery for $130... Here's what I've seen: they are excellent professionals at being rude in a polite manner, specially the service desk ladies. Everytime we've had any sort of issue with the car is always a hassle to get any help to solve the problem; they're always out to get your money, and I've had people standing behind me in the line complaining about the same thing, so I know it's not just me (at the beginning I thought I was getting the wrong impression but it turns out that everyone I've spoken to feel the same way). We certainly miss the Kia in Tallahassee, they definitely went above and beyond to help you solve your problems in the most efficient and inexpensive way. These people in this Kia are super friendly when you're in the process of buying a car, but as soon as you're hooked, get ready for the struggle. I despise having to come here for service. read more

Can I give 0 stars? Please note, in reference to "trade in" value, from their very own website, i was offered $7800 over payoff. When i got there and was ready to buy and talk "shop", the sales Mgr, Brandon, offered my wife $3000 over payoff. Something doesnt add up, Brandon. I explained i wasnt holding them to 100% of the trade-in value ($7800) from THEIR OWN KIA WEBSITE, but would like to see it close, say $7000 or even $6000 over payoff...but $3000?? Thats less than 50% of their websites offer. Really Brandon? This is a BS move and deceptive business practices. When i told them that, Brandons response was (verbatim): "the trade-in value isnt run by us (Kia), its a 3rd party that handles that....". (I just stared at him, what kind of BS response is that?? The bad experience came at the end when we went to finance to pay for the car with Clarence (in Finance).We came with a check but for some reason he was very rude and dry with us and did not make us feel welcome. Bought a car and unknown to us it had a broken air bag connection in the rear seat. Took it up there and sat for hours for them to tell me it they would have to order the part and come back. They said they would fix it free of charge but after a month and a half of calls with no answer the car is still not fixed. They have not called back even once. I took my car here to have a recall fix, after they changed the recall part, another part on my car directly related to the part they changed failed so I call and they said they can look at it, so Living 100 miles away this was not easy pop by, I paid for a tow to take it back, after a get it to them, they kept my car for 2 months to " assess it. They were terrible at communicating updates, I'd have to call and ask for an update even though they said they would. At the final conclusion they wanted to charge me $1600 to fix something they broke, they never took responsibility over the hell they put me through. not trusting this place to work on my car I had to tow my car back another 100 miles to a more trusting mechanic, at the end of the day some better customer service and accountability could've made my story a different one. Bought a 2015 Nissan Altima from a great salesman Mr. Burton who transferred to Florida. He said he was sending me my second key fob, which I never received. I stopped by the dealership a few times looking for him and was finally told that he had transferred. I called for my second fob and was directed to the key department which told me they couldn't find it. I was directed to a manger who told me that used cars didn't come with two which I know better. They are extremely pushy and not knowledgeable. Their cars are marked up by $5,000 for Dealership fees and when asked they say its to keep the lights on and pay the janitor. Didn't know I had to pay over price to pay the employees. Also said I was going to do a trade in and the appraised my car $4,000 under the lowest value on KBB. With this in mind my car isn't a POS and has low miles so they definitely low ball you on trade ins. Wouldn't go back or send anyone there. Sad to see a local deal treat their Military so poorly when they advertise thanks to us. We scheduled an appt for 8:00 am for scheduled maintenance. At 1000 the car still was not even taken back. I asked what was the point of making an appt and the gentleman mumbled something (I have no idea what he said but it came across as very condescending.) Since it was STILL going to be "a couple of hours" I took the shuttle home. They then left a voicemail stating tires needed to be replaced. New tires were purchased within the past 2 years. When my boyfriend called back and he informed him of this, they said, oh, we meant the brakes. I attempted to call to get shuttle back and shockingly, I was not able to get through to the service desk. I called the sales department and to my surprise (NOT) they answered immediately. I ushered there to pick up the car. Then next morning, I took the car to Firestone to have them check the brakes. They said everything looked fine and no brakes were needed at this time. We will be going to Firestone for scheduled maintenance. read more

I was in the market for a new car a couple of months ago. I had a Kia Forte koup I had bought new in 2010. I put quite a few miles on it, and it still ran great but I was in the market for something new. I was looking for a car with a lot of bells and whistles without a bells and whistles price. I had gotten pre-approved before walking in the door, so I didn't have to deal with the hassles of loan negotiations at a dealer. I test drove a used Kia Optima and loved it. I went home and did some research and found the same vehicle with less miles for a bit cheaper, but it was north of Atlanta. I called Gil and he negotiated with me on the price a bit. I agreed, walked in that afternoon and drove my new car home. Within a few days I realized the car was about due for an oil change. I brought it back to Kia and my salesman, Gil, saw me. He inquired if anything was wrong and I said no, it just looked like it was due for an oil change. He walked to the counter and came back a few minutes later to tell me there would be no charge for this oil change. I really liked that he took care of me as his customer without being asked to. I'll be back for maintenance and any new car purchases we need to make. read more

Sales person was nice; did a test drive and decided on a vehicle. I fill out the finance application and explain my financial situation due to a recent divorce. The sales manager, Chris Child, tells me everything is good. Come back the next day and sign all the paperwork and give them my down payment; drive the car off the lot. The next morning I am contacted by the finance company telling me I have to provide a list of additional information before they will agree to fund the loan; they give me a week. Needless to say, the car is on the way back to the dealership and I am getting a refund of my down payment. The sales manager just told me what I wanted to hear in order to make a sale. If I could leave 0 stars. I would. We had our optima in service for over 2 months due to an engine failure that was covered under warranty. We were supposed to get it back on thanksgiving 11/21, but didn't hear anything until the following weekend. The CS lady called at 4pm on a Saturday demanding we pay for a new belt and battery and to return the rental car immediately. First of all, you don't call someone on a Saturday afternoon asking them to spend 100's of dollars and rush around after you haven't heard a peep from them the entire time. Second, the battery was absolutely fine when we dropped it off, but now suddenly it doesn't work? It seems to me that Kia is trying to nickel and dime everyone that comes in for something covered under warranty. Why should I pay an additional service fee and labor charge for something you guys are already doing? The customer service lady is rude and has no personality. Once we questioned her, however, her tune changed pretty quickly. Overall, I am very unhappy with the last minute demands and lack of communication until it was time to ask for $$$. I have never been treated so rudely and disrespectful in my life. In my years, I have by myself purchased 8 new cars. Here is the story.....my salesperson was very nice, even putting up with my toddler Granddaughter. On Friday, I made an appt to see my sales person about a car I was interested in buying. He gave me all information and answered all my questions. I was given a print out of my trade in car value. Came home to talk to my husband, was pre approved for financing and was ready to go back Monday morning with all my information. Arrived, showed my figures wanting to make a good offer and buy the car. Well, to my surprise, they reduced my trade in by over $2200, claiming they did not look at my car on Friday, just gave a value and printed the details to give to me. That is not right. They are telling me they did not look at my car, but handed me another printout much lower. They would not work on price of car. Here comes the sales manager, smirking like a jackass eating briars. I told him it was their problem they did not look at my car and he should honor the value. He tried to turn it around as if it was my fault and I should understand. I would NEVER recommend this dealership. I saw a vehicle on line and I called the number listed to inquire about it. I was told the price and the lady asked me if I would like to make an appointment. I explained that I lived 4 hours away and would have to discuss with my husband. We decided to make the trip to look at the vehicle. I had been texting back and forth with the lady that I had been talking to and asked her if the vehicle was still available and she replied it is not showing sold on my sheet. (AT this point, I am under the impression that she is physically at this location.) She asked what time I would be arriving, that she would schedule me an appointment with her sales manager. We arrived at the time we agreed upon and I asked to see the sales manager and he was assisting another client so I told the lady what I was there to look at so she could take us to actually look at the vehicle. We sat there for about 5 minutes when she came and said.....unfortunately that vehicle was sold yesterday........needless to say....I lost it. Come to find out the lady that I had been talking to originally was physically located in Florida and was an internet person they (KiA of Columbus, Georgia) employed to assist them. They laid the blame on "her"......my point is that "her" is you because you hired her and further insult to injury was that you set the appointment for me to see this particular vehicle with the sales manager and he didn't bother to reach out to me to let me know that it was sold. 8 hour round trip and a tank of gas later.........my free advice to anyone thinking of buying from this dealership is...........DON'T..............save yourself some aggravation.......I did not receive a call from anyone, the sales manager, the store manager, the lady that made the appointment (I texted her and gave her a piece of my mind and of course she never responded)......no apology, nothing.......I'm sure they aren't concerned with me since I lived so far away but maybe this review can help someone else not go through what I did......just simply avoid this dealership..........by reading the other reviews listed here............They simply aren't concerned with providing excellent customer service, or developing relationships for repeat purchases. read more

I would never recommend this place, especially to first time buyers as they will try to take advantage of you! I made an appointment with one of their car dealers over the phone and came in the next day for an appointment. When I went to the front desk they said they didn't have any appointment for me set up and there wasn't anyone in the building with the name that I was given to begin with ( I verified over the phone that it was the dealership on whittesey blvd before coming in). I sat down with the dealer and told them what I was looking for and the price range I was looking for and they told me it was completely impossible and then proceeded to show me cars that I had no interest in even though I told him I had no interest in those types of cars. He told me these are going to be my only options so I have no other choice. He convinced me to test drive a car and then criticized how cautiously I was driving the entire time. We sat down and they asked what they need to do so I can leave with a car today. They went through my payment options and told me since I'm only 24 I would need a co-signer and there's no way I would find an APR under 15%. Needless to say I went to the Nissan dealership and they found me a perfect car, I didn't need a co-signer, and my APR is under 6%. They saw me as fresh meat and tried to take advantage of me in every way. read more

KIA Autosport of Columbus Ga are con artist and judging by the reviews people agree. They sell you on tires for life but when it comes time for those tires they do not want to pay up. They come up with every maintenance that you missed on the car like in my case they said you did not an alignment on my tires and a cab filter. Also they want you to spend thousands of dollars on other maintenance so that you can offset the cost of the " free tires" do not waste your time or money with these people. I bought two cars from them and they will be my last. read more

I have had the same experience as Anthony P below, except I bought a new 2016 Kia Optima. I never got my second key set, when I went for my first service, I asked about it, no one could find it...same story every time I went there. I have complained to corporate but the Columbus Dealership is privately owned, but corporate on my behalf, filed a complaint to them and said I should hear something back. It is now 3 months later and I still have not heard anything. Complained on the website under contact us and I immediately got a call from a saleswoman on my job, and when I didn't take the call because I was busy, she went through the front desk and said it was an emergency. If they would only take care of their existing customers that fast, they would be top notch. This is my second new car I have bought from there and I can say I will never buy another. I do like Kia, and if I decide to stay with Kia I will purchase from LaGrange. So here it is 2 years later and I do not have my second key fob. read more

Kia is very pushy. I have been called SEVERAL times, after telling them that Yes, I want to eventually trade my car in but not right this moment, and they INSISTED I make an appointment. I did and thought maybe it'd work out. The day my apt came, I woke up with a fever, and couldn't make it. When the girl called me to see if I was going to make it, I told her I was sick and she hung up on me. I called in today and spoke to a manager about how I felt I was being pushed into something I'm clearly not ready to do, and she gave me every excuse in the book as to why I've been called so many times, and was EXTREMELY rude to me. For a manager position, this wasn't very professional at all. She ended it with "If you don't want to be called anymore, that's all you have to say." So I said " That'd be great" and hung up. I'm glad to know that in this day and age, that this dealership still hires SEXIST PIECES OF TRASH. My husband and I went in yesterday to look at Kia Sorentos. There was one in particular on their website and on True Car that was listed for $25,102. Perfect, exactly what we wanted. We ask the salesmen about it, one said that it was in the lot, then another said it was sold. One salesman sat us down and said that they would try to find us one like it in the area and wanted to talk numbers. He took all of my husband's information and went to the office to talk to another salesman. 30 minutes go by, he comes out with some numbers. Lo and behold, the car hasn't been sold, but the general manager's wife has it and is currently driving it. So we don't even get to see the car. The salesman laid down a paper with the numbers. Had the starting price as $29,000 for a used car with 11,455 miles on it (and counting). Then wanted to throw in $7000 worth of rebates to include a military discount, valued my husband's car at $8000 with the bottom line coming out to $32,000. That wasn't going to work for us. He walks away for another 30 minutes, then comes back with numbers. Still starts at $29,000, now rebates/dicounts go down to $4000 and they value his car at $3500. Bottom line still comes out at $32,000. We say that's not going to work for us. He asks us for my husband's car keys to look at his car, again. By the time this salesman comes out with another salesman with new numbers, 2 hours had passed by. My husband and I both explained that they should have to honor the price from online ($25,102) and start from there, because that's the only reason why we came in today. These "new numbers" still had the same starting value as before and the rebates/discounts changed AGAIN and the value of my husband's car was now $5700. Bottom line STILL came out to $32,000. I very calmly pointed out the bs they were trying to feed us. The new salesman then slide the papers from in front of me to my husband and said "Well maybe he'll understand this better". We both were trying to make the same exact point about the $25,102! I looked at him and said, "Don't slide the papers over to him like I'm an idiot and don't understand these numbers!". He then says, "maybe HE will understand them". "And for that, we're leaving," I grabbed our keys and we both stood up and walked out.
