Signed a letter in which Carmx state they will process title and registration paperwork and County Tag office will mail the plate directly to us. We paid them $38 for tag and title fee. They did NOT do the paperwork and we had to call the County to find out the we had to pay the fees to the County and register the car ourselves. But was i in for a rude awaking. I purchased a GT Mustang from Carmax years ago which is why I went back in 2022 to purchase another car. I don't know what happened to them but I WILL NOT EVER go back to Carmax again. Purchased a car in 2022 and after the 30 day was up things started happening. The horn, brakes, locks, headlights, battery etc. GMC found metal shavings they had my car for 2 weeks plus came had to tow it back to themselves to fix the brakes. More things going wrong. Fast forward a little the ac went out found out it's the ac compressor. The warranty sent the wrong one which causes me to be out of a car for a while then they finally sent the right one only to find out there's a blockage. It was the condenser. But the warranty didn't want to pay for that. My $250 deductible that I thought I was going to pay turned out to be $700. Had to get a rental and the warranty covers $40 a day. What car rentals are $40 a day these days??? Get my car back on a Friday and Monday the ac goes out again...... they sold me a lemon and still want the car payments. I had this car for 1 1/2 years and I have never had this much trouble with a car in my life. read more

I purchased a jaguar xe from car mart a year ago after 84 days of having the car it had to go back into the shop for a major oil leak which caused me to be without the car for a month after getting the car back 2 months later the car was back into the shop for another month within the first 6 months of me having the car the car was in the shop for a total of 2 months. Fast forward to today and the car has been in the shop now 3 times and this time a new engine was required. I purchased the maxcare warranty with the vehicle but was never explained the warranty fully plan now the cost to repair this vehicle is over 21000$ and they wanted to only pay the repair company 17800$. Now in order for me to get the car I have to pay an additional 4000$ to get the car out of the shop as well as still pay my car payments. Now I am not happy about this because of the fact of the matter I am still without a car and is forced to pay on a vehicle that the warranty company should have fully covered but denied part of the claim (PLEASE WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T GO TO CARMAX TO GET A CAR YOU'LL REGRET IT) TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE WHO GOT A CAR FROM THEM THEY OVERPRICE THEIR CARS AND HALFWAY FIX THEM SO YOU HAVE TO CONSTANTLY SPEND MONEY IT'S A RIP OFF read more

Purchased a car with cash , express(lol) pickup. Told the girl the night before paperwork was wrong that she spelled several things like street address wrong. "Oh , that's not a problem it's just the computer ," yes ok whatever . On the way to get the car they text and say paperwork is wrong . Me"oh really?" Big surprise. So it was a long process to redo all of that. In the meantime I have already paid. They informed me I can't get my title and handicapped designation even though I paid cash. For at least 2 months . Great. So get to the car and I can smell smoke before opening it. Very mad. They washed the car but did not clean it or fix the smell before offering it for sale. It was very loud like a wind tunnel on they way home 50 miles from the location . So I called them about the stink the loud noise and the tires as I noticed the bumpy ride home and the tires had gashes in them . Moving forward 6 trips from home to columbus ga 300 miles and they do it this way . One trip per item , one to see the problem like tires . One to install 2 not 4 and very loud tires on it. Then one more trip down to see the windshield that was not glued to the car and another to get it fixed . Still smelly one more to put a cabin filter in and that of course did not fix issue. Then the noise isn't fixed either as this cat was wrecked and they lose so I investigated and it's pretty easy to see the thing had been wrecked. I still have a smelly loud cat with bad noises tires and oh yes the sunroof leaks . . So I'll return this piece of junk but I wound be getting my cash from them they say ir will take at least 2 weeks . What bs. What horrible customer service . I should sue them for sending me home in a car they knew had a windshield that was not attached to car and bad tires . So beware don't shop here , unless you want to get a bad car bad experience and lose money and have people who don't mind putting your life at risk selling you the junk . read more

I've been trying to get in contact with someone from the service department and it's always nearly impossible. Nobody wants to ever answer that phone!! When they do finally answer they say they'll have someone return your phone call but that NEVER happens. They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. While I was in the middle of the purchasing process I heard a sales woman talking about a customer who simply asked for help. God forbid you bother them when they're standing around in their huddle right in the middle of the store. I would like to get my $8000.00 down payment back and take my business elsewhere since they it seems they sold me a lemon anyway. We were satisfied with the price of the car and our trade-in value. Then, we had an issue that needed to be resolved. I called and Christopher Holt took charge, and Andy in the service department took quick care of us before we had to spend many hours on the road. This gave us peace of mind. Integrity issues and poor business practices. I made salesman aware I was interested in a vehicle he had on the lot. He offered to hold it for me for 3 days. I was surprised to hear that they would hold a vehicle. I never asked if he could hold the vehicle, he offered that service. He also stated they have held vehicles for potential buyers for up to 9 days in the past. He stated he was off for the next two days, but he would call me as soon as he returned to work in order to follow up. I tried to call and text his number early on the 3rd day to no avail. Without hearing from him, I returned to the lot before lunch on the 3rd day with payment and insurance in hand for the vehicle. I waited on him to return to work so that he makes the commission on the sale. Despite the fact that the vehicle is in plain view in the lot, they refuse to sell me the vehicle. They say it's being transferred to another lot. The salesman tries to sell me on another vehicle of a different make and model, which was insulting. Sales manager was no help either. I wasted half a day and had to take time off work to obtain insurance and payment. I attempted to call and text (his business card and voicemail both say to text him) numerous times after leaving the premises and never received any return communication. For all he knows, I wanted to purchase a different vehicle on their lot. Steer clear of this place! read more

They think that a Ram 1500 with roughly 57K miles on it isnt worth a whole lot... but they were trying to sell us a car of the same year for thousands more than what they were offering us. They have you in and out within an hour after you find the car that's right for you and you apply online. If the car you choose isn't at your location, they'll have it shipped for you to come and test drive. If you like it, they finish the paper work and it's a done deal once you drive away. Turns out the rims were spray painted . Of Course within 3 months my rims literally changed colors . You can tell the spray paint was fresh because the tips of the caps were painted ( Where you would put your air in ) . When i brought the car in i said to myself " Im positive they will fix this issue . It was so obvious .Here is what i got instead . They actually said it could've been the prior owners ! As if that has anything to do with it . I thought they were to inspect the product before they turn around and sell it ? It was just a joke and treated me like crap . I went into CarMax on 4/27 just looking at cars. I sat down with Michael and got approved for a 2014 Fusion and had it transferred in from a different location. Came back on 5/02 to purchase the vehicle. I was told I just need to bring in pay stub and proof of insurance. When I got there they said I needed a bank statement also. I rushed to the bank to get one printed before they closed and brought it back. Everything was good, we did the paperwork, I gave them my $1000 down payment and I left with the car that day. Fast forward to 5/14. I received a call stating the finance company needed more documents before funding the loan. Those documents were 2 more months worth of bank statements. I brought those in on 5/15 and was on my way (or so I thought). I get a call later around 6pm on 5/15 stating that the finance company still did not accept the documents and that I needed to bring the car back. I brought the car back to CarMax on 5/16 and signed the return agreement. When I asked about my $1000 down payment that I paid in cash, I was told I would receive a check in the mail for it. That was a little frustrating since I paid in cash and that I needed the money to find another car. So I sign the agreement and leave. When I get home I look at the agreement and it says "By voluntarily signing this agreement you agree to the terms explained on the back of this agreement". I was never even informed that there was a back side the the agreement. When I turn it over it says for cash payments a check will be available for pickup at the store within 3-6 days. This made me very upset because I specifically asked the lady how long it would take and how would I receive it. I'm not sure why they couldn't have given me a check right then because I've seen other reviews where they have given customers a bank draft in store for a refund. This all together a terrible experience. I just want my money back so I can go purchase another vehicle. read more
