By far, the worst service department and senior management ever. Adrian is a complete ass and his boss, the general manager, is even worse and we hold him personally responsible. Our 2019 Nissan Pathfinder, which we bought there less than one year ago, would not start on five separate occasions due primarily to a repeatedly defective key fob. It happened again this morning and they refuse to pay for the tow. Inexcusable! Our car was dead in the water last time, and they set me up with Cierra Towing go get the car out of the garage and into McGavock (the only Nissan game in town if you don't want to have to leave Amarillo). Cierra damaged my garage and I am in the process of suing them. I guess birds of a feather... We have only one car and my wife needs to go to the hospital today. On top of everything, they never did any quality assurance on the car prior to selling it to me. The temperature control does not work at all and the best they can do is to offer me another car, but in the past, they have only offered a model that we are not interested in. Don't EVER do business -- if you can even call it that -- with these horse's asses. I just spoke to Christopher in service, who told me the car started when it got there. Liar! Ricky's towing service stated that the car would not start, either at pickup or upon delivery. McGavock advertised a 2018 Rogue VIN: JN8AT2MT7JW453319 as a "certified pre-owned" car. I decided to buy it because it looked like a great deal but just before I was about to pay for it I found out it was being sold to me "as is" with no warranty or any of the perks you get from buying a certified pre-owned car. I only found out only because I decided to review the deal just before it was finalized. They said the computer makes that mistake all the time. Really? So they knew all along there is a problem with their listings but didn't think to warn me the car was not a certified pre-owned vehicle until I asked specifically what the warranty still covered? Then I was offered a third party limited warranty for $2,200. You bet I felt angry and misled so i walked out on the deal. As I write this that car is still listed as a certified pre-owned car three days later. read more

I financed my truck from McGavock Nissan of Amarillo on 11/11/23. I did not receive the truck until the new year sometime in January. McGavock Nissan told me it was because the truck needed new lifters and that it was being serviced at the dodge dealership. I accepted it they gave me a rental vehicle for that month ok. Less than six months later on 05/21/2024 engine light came on, truck started losing power. Thank God I was on the way to Amarillo. I live in Dalhart by the way 90 miles away. I brought it to the dealership and they told me that the lifters were bad again. I am not sure if that was the only problem but they ended up replacing the whole engine. I did not get my truck back until 10/14/2024. Yes a little inconvenient and frustrating but its ok you put a new engine in under the dealership warranty. Thank you. Less than a year later 05/04/2025 engine light comes on. Got a scan code red, cylinder 2 misfire detected. Said to replace ignition coils and spark plug. Back to McGavock again. Replaced engine coil. Now it is 1/04/2026 cylinder 5 misfire replace coils and spark plugs. Not to mention car overheats after 10 minutes of driving but antifreeze is still shows that its full.... Yes this is my first vehicle I ever bought from a dealership. Yes i was a little over zealous about this truck. And yea I probably should have done a little more research before jumping on the first car that I like. However coming from a reputable dealership such as McGavock Nissan of Amarillo no one should have to expect to encounter this many problems from a vehicle that only had 55 thousand miles and some change within the first 2 years of purchasing the vehicle. At this point I am over it my truck is a lemon and after all this I am convinced McGavock was aware of this. Keep in mind I did not even disclose all of the problems with the pick up I only shared the core problems. The problems that you would have 7 or 8 years after purchasing a vehicle. Unless a recall. I have all the receipts to back up what I have said too. Which is funny because I see on my Carfax report that they failed to report the engine replacement they did as well as the ignition coils they replaced. Or maybe they did not replace it after all. Who knows. All in all McGavock might be an upstanding dealership to some. But to the rest of us who may have a less than perfect credit score. You get what you get and you should be grateful were dealing with you at all. I know that last statement was subjective but that is my personal feeling that I get from them. So tell me McGavock Nissan of Amarillo are you going to do right by your paying customers (paying 788 a month with 18% APR but haven't missed a payment). After fixing my alignment today the service department brought out the wrong vehicle to me and handed me those keys. I have a blue Rogue and they handed me the keys to someone's white truck. Used car sales: The old saying "Buyer beware" is so true. Robin led us to believe the radio would be fixed on a used Sentra. She did not make it clear that we would have to repair/replace the radio at our own expense. She didn't return calls and the manager refused to talk to me but instead referred me back to Robin who claims she never told us the radio would be fixed at their expense. After the sale, the service department wanted $180 just to diagnose, but their guess on the phone was as new radio for $1800. At best she was vague and misleading. At worst just lying. Make sure you get everything in writing, because these guys are worse than most used car dealers. read more

One vehicle they only financed once I called and told them hey finance company is saying invalid VIN. They then tell me that paperwork on second vehicle is still on the finance guys desk. I was reading reviews and it looked like this...Dorian guy didn't have one good thing about him and guess who got him? i did. And when I pulled into the bay, I told him exactly what I needed, which was to replace my cabin filter, oil change, oil filter, and then a tire rotation. About 15 minutes later, I got a call saying that he had told someone I need a new wipers and a state inspection. I have Colorado plates, and if you didn't know, Colorado does not require state inspections. when I was paying, they told me that they called the wrong person which was false because they asked if it was me before they said that I needed wipers and all this other bullshit. Dorian is shady. The service department is also shady. I do not recommend at all stay the fuck away. read more

Took my Nissan frontier for a timing chain problem that Firestone had diagnosed to get fixed. Talked to Dorien and was told i had to get diagnosis by Nissan because they do not take Firestone word on any repairs. I agreed to diagnostics. I had already told Dorien what parts had been changed on vehicle. He comes back with diagnosis of me having to change same parts because supposedly my mechanic didnt change the parts. After they supposedly fix it i take vehicle and not even 10 miles and same code comes back on. I take back. They re do diagnostics and again they tell me another part that had been recently changed. Again i pay to have it changed. And again not even 10 miles and code comes back on. I talk to Ben the service dept manager and he wants to charge me $1900 for timing chain that Firestone had already diagnosed yet i have already paid $1500 on previous parts they made me change again plus the first set of part i had already paid a different mechanic to do. Now Ben wants me to pay $355 more to fix my timing chain however i already purchased timing chain and all it hadve to be would be labor. This company is a disgrace. I thought of taking it there since they are supposedly certified in Nissan vehicles. They just guess what might be problem and the manager is also now declining my calls. Now i need to contact upper management to have all this fixed. read more

Brayden from McGavock Nissan spoke with me at length and kept me up until nearly midnight discussing a car I told him I would like to purchase. I told him I really needed the car and could be there first thing in the morning before any of his other appointments. He made an appointment with me with a selling price of 19,995. TEN MINUTES BEFORE OUR APPOINTMENT the next morning he decided to change the price on me to 21,000. When I told him I thought it unprofessional and that he should honor the price he blamed his manager. When I called the dealership the secretary WOULD NOT send me through to the manager until I explained in detail what I wanted. She was very short with me. THEN I got hung up on. When I FINALLY got to speak with the manager he said Brayden was being dishonest and the price was actually 24,000 and it had been listed that way from the beginning on his end. I told Brayden I would look elsewhere for a car as I didn't want to associate with a company that treats their clients this way and he said GOOD LUCK!! These people do NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. I have been dealing with this dealership for the past 6 months trying to get my money back for the GAP and extended warranty as I sold my truck. 1st finance manager I felt with when I bought my truck left a few months later so I delt with another (2nd) one, he refunded 25% of my gap 18 months after I bought the truck... no warrant refund so talking to him more and he left, so now (3rd) finance manager. Processed the refund and the check was mailed to an old address, not to where the GAP check was sent. He said he got it fixed and I would have it soon. 3 weeks later I tried reaching back out to him and guess what.... not there any more!!! I would never do business with them again! I live 130 miles from the dealership, and the repairs were going to take a couple days. They gave me a rental (a Juke) and were very courteous and helpful. Everyone I dealt with in the Service department was great. Once I picked up my car, everything was smooth and since it was a recall there were no charges. They seemed very organized and helpful, and if I need any future work done on my Nissan, I will definitely bring it there. Crooked service that tries to take your money. Driving home one day my check engine light came on... so I stopped in Auto Zone where they performed FREE diagnostics in which a P0420 error code produced. That shows emissions through the catalytic convertor was inefficient. So I took it in to the service department and told them I had purchased an extended warranty. They acknowledged and said we will take a look - and was given a 1-2 hour time window. They said if it's covered under warranty we will get ya fixed up - if not you will hear from us. I dropped it off at 1pm. Never heard from them, so I thought "sweet it's covered under warranty" I call at 5pm to get an update. No answer. I call at 530pm no answer. Call at 602pm (not joking) and got the operator whom told me the service department is closed you will have to call back tomorrow. Gave me attitude when I said "uhhh, they still have my truck and I need to get to work tomorrow" It gets better stick with me. So I call at 8am the next morning and asked what the status was. I was told "oh your convertor is in bad shape we need to replace both" I said no, I only got a p0420 code (front right) not a p0430 (front left) why do I have to replace both? Then I said there are actually 4 - in which time he tried to argue with me. I'm right there is four he is a garbage service man. He gave me some made up answer. I said well is it covered under my warranty. He said NO. Gave me a quote of $2,000 to replace them. Come to find out, after I personally contacted my extended provider. They never talked to any service personnel about my truck! So I left upset. After paying $130 for the same service (plugging in a scanner under my dash) I got from autozone for free. I did a little research on my own. Bought $30 in spark plugs and in an hour and 2 beers my engine light is off and no errors close to tripping on the convertors. These people are snakes trying to take your money. read more

Driving from TN. to CA. my Xterra broke down. I had it towed to McGavock Nissan worried about the quality of the customer service, workmanship, and cost for repair. The second I walked in I was fully encouraged everything would be alright. In the end, these guys took care of me, from little things like remembering my name and offering snacks and drinks to major things like immediately brining my Xterra in, opening it up, finding out what's wrong, and working past closing to get it fixed so I could get back on the road. They even helped me find a cheap hotel, dropped me off and picked me up. These guys helped a bad situation feel better for sure! Ben and his crew are top notch when it comes to service. The dealership personnel go that extra mile to make you feel welcome.
