My entire experience with this dealership was flawless. I walked in cold, off the street with a specific ask. Find me a vehicle for $6k. I wrecked my 2024 Kia Telluride and insurance could not even pay off my loan so I was just booting this out of my pocket. Levi at first said there wasn't anything close to that .But as I thanked him and started to walk away, he asked me to wait while he checked "the back fence." Vehicles they would not normally sell to the public because they needed too much work. He had one that came close to my price. I asked him for the CarFax, because there was no point going on if the vehicle was too far fine. But he had the report and it had only one collision where the airbags did not deploy , so it was minor damage. The car had 120k miles, which I did t mind because I had been looking stones with more than that with my price range. Honestly, the "cinnamon metallic red " Ford expedition was beautiful . Had some flaws on the inside, needed some mechanical work done. But drive absolutely fine. Would get me from point A to point B . Josh worked with my cash financing options later that day. The vehicle had to pass safety inspection to go off the lot which meant the dealership bought me two new tires and new brakes. What they did not have to do was detail the whole vehicle beautifully and fill it to the brim with fuel, then have it ready exactly when promised. It's like trying to get 15 year old son to tell you if they have a girlfriend. If you make an appointment it still takes hours for your vehicle to be done. Worst Dealership Experience - Stay Away! This is the worst organization I have ever dealt with. I bought a used Toyota Tundra from Gene Messer, and just three days later, I discovered that the entire fuel system was shot. I had to spend over $6,000 to fix it, and even after that, the truck never worked the same. I tried working with the dealership to either help me fix the issue or take the vehicle back, but they refused to assist in any way. At the same time, we traded in my wife's Ford Explorer, which had a large extended warranty. They were supposed to cancel the extended warranty and refund us, but this never happened. I've called and left messages at least eight times, but no one has ever called me back. We have purchased over 15 vehicles from Gene Messer, but after this experience, neither I nor my friends or family will ever go back. Upon arrival to Gene Messer, the service rep was unable to locate the appointment and could not care less. I attempted to work with the rep since snafus do happen but the rep was rude and unprofessional to the point that I soon realized that letting them work on my vehicle was likely a bad decision since the rep made zero effort to address the screw Gene Messer had made. This is the 2nd bad experience I have had at this dealership. The 1st was in 2020: scheduled service with a full explanation of the issue but upon arrival, Gene Messer suddenly realized that a part was req'd and it would take a couple of weeks. Please don't buy it here. I made the mistake and don't want someone else to have my experience. I currently live on Social security and not much at that. I lost my Husband not too long ago. He had a small life insurance and told me he always wanted me to have a good reliable car. Well that didn't happen with Gene Messer Ford. I went there and bought a used car from Gene Messer Ford and got what I thought was a good and nice car and trusted this business with my investment. I spent 15,000 on a car and a few days later I had oil in my driveway under the car. I called my salesman and he said bring it by to have them check it. So I went to the dealer and they said they couldn't find an oil leak. They blatantly Lied to me about not finding an oil leak and oil was all over underneath the car. Some short time later I contacted them and sent a picture of the car leaking. I kept complaining and now 6 months later all communication has stopped. I have tried reaching them and complained only to be ignored. Now I have no car because the motor quit working and I had it for only 6 months. I am out 15,000 because they took advantage of a senior citizen woman with not knowing much about cars except oil is not supposed to come out. Friday, January 15, 2021 This was my 2nd attempt in about 5 weeks to get my car in for an oil change, rotate tires and a couple of warranty issues. The advent of the mobile app for Ford has made things more convenient for the customer and I would assume the dealership as well. I made my appointment through the app and gave a full description of what I needed to happen. I made sure I was several days out with my request so that it would be honored. The first attempt was thwarted by the service manager through a phone call to me less than 24 hours before my appointment. His excuse was that they had been slammed and were under-staffed. I waited a few weeks before making a new appointment, but finally did so on Monday, January 11th on the Ford app. The appointment was scheduled several days out, again so management would have a proper amount of time to insure enough staff for the appointments received and confirmed. I arrived 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment at 8:45 am on Friday, January 15th and proceeded to check in with Tyson Hackler. Mr. Hackler looked up my appointment and read the requested tasks to be performed and promptly informed me that the only portion of my requests that they would be able to perform was the oil change. Certainly important since I was now over my first 10K miles. I, of course, voiced my displeasure with these circumstances. My time is just as important as anyone's at Gene Messer Ford. The warranty issues are on a clock as I continue to put miles on my new vehicle without any answers to my questions. Mr. Hackler spent absolutely NO time with me to discuss how I could get my issues resolved. I will remember this incident when I go to buy my next vehicle. I have purchased 3 cars from Gene Messer, it could be my last. Those who are reading this pay close attention, I rarely take the time to send out these negative reviews, but they finally pushed my last button. Be aware that Gene Messer Ford in Amarillo Texas does NOT have your back. I also recently sent my niece to Gene Messer Ford and gave them the name of my sales guy Todd Nelson. After moving to the area and dealing with other Ford Dealerships, my expectations were pretty low when I first drove up to the service bay. I was quickly proven wrong as the service tech greeted me in the service bay....(mind blown). Usually at the other dealerships you have to go hunt down someone and corner them to get service but not here. They were prompt and attentive. They were quick to get all required information from me and let me know a tentative time frame of when to expect my vehicle to be ready. Like all of the others...appointment made, never do they contact me to let me know what is going on. He said "oh yeah I have a note to call you". RIDICULOUS! Had recalls and an oil change. 3 days later I had to call AGAIN and ask if the work was done. Every call I made I was told that they would 'check on that'. I was told by Gary (the assigned service member) that he would call me back in 30 min. So...here it is Saturday...calling AGAIN...no Gary. I'm not even sure that they've done the work. Second review After the general manager got involved the repair was taken care of within 5 days which is about how long it should have taken in the first place I appreciate Mr. Bixler's help on this. I will give them one more try. First post Day 52 of my truck being in the shop I talked to the general manager on Thursday and was assured it would be ready by Friday received a message this morning ( Thursday) that my truck was finally ready when I got home from work I drove 45 miles to pick it up when I got there and was signing the paperwork and was reading it there was a comment that I stated the check engine light was on ( which was the original issue the DEF heater was not functioning properly) the comment from the mechanic said there was no light and could not get it to repeat it I asked the new service writer why they didn't fix the DEF heater he said he wasn't aware that there was a problem with it he went and checked to see if there was any code history for that issue couldn't find anything long story short I got plenty of apologies from everyone there but still no truck once again I was reassured by all from the general manager down it would be ready tomorrow lol can't make this stuff up. On the bright side I got a full tank of fuel and they washed it. More to come. read more

We ordered a Mustang Mach-E through this dealership January 2022. The order was originally expected to be fulfilled April 2022. We also asked the salesman multiple times through the process to contact us if one ever came in sooner than our order. Not only were we never contacted after seeing several of this model on the lot through the months, but our order was sold to another customer without notifying us. We were still receiving notifications from the Ford company that our car was ready and were preparing to finally see/purchase the car we ordered. When questioned, the dealership responded that we didn't want it. At no point in time did we ever communicate that we wanted to cancel our order. When we asked about the deposit we placed for our order, the response given was to the effect of-oh yeah, you can have it back we don't need your money. First when we purchased our 2018 Yukon we were told it was financed through one company, we bring it home and a few days later we had to go back in and resign paperwork for a different bank to finance! We make our first payment and a few days later had to put it in the shop, we were told to bring it in at 7:30 that morning and when we got there we were told that they were behind and it would be a week before they could look at it! We call a week later and they still hadn't even gotten to it! Long story short they had our Yukon over a month before we got it back getting one excuse after another from Ryan and then to find out that our temp tag expired while they had it and they still had not received our tags! We call and talk to Damian and was told they would have them the end of the week, but in the meantime WE would have to go purchase another set of Temp tags to be able to drive our vehicle until the tags come in!! It is not our responsibility to do this!! They didn't do their job and get our tags that they were responsible for getting!! They said it was in the"que" and could not even give me an estimated time . I ended up picking up my call and taking it to Kleinstadt Motors instead. I spoke with a salesman about details on a truck, confirmed it was available and explained that I was from out of town and had a 3-1/2+ hour drive to the dealership .. then when I was fueled, ready and actually driving to the dealership I called and spoke with him again to confirm I was on my way, what time I would arrive and that the truck was still available .. well, about 3-1/4 hrs into my drive he called to say someone was looking at the truck .. I had asked them about diagnosis on my transmission . They told me that they will call me in 2-3 weeks but never did. When I called them, they asked another 2-3 weeks saying that the transmission technician is busy and an employee called Rudy asked me to check back 2 weeks later. When I called, he did not picked up the phone and also didn't call me back eventhough I left a voicemail. I have 2 ford cars and my previous car was a ford as well. After this experience, I will never buy a ford again. My car still has pretty low mileage and it is under warranty. It seems like they don't make the cars priority that are under warranty because it won't be paid by customer. Very disappointing and very unreliable situation. I wish we would have read reviews before taking our Suburban in. We bought it a little over a month ago and within 2 weeks the check engine light came on. Small emissions leak. Changed the gas cap and it went off. It was back on within a week. My husband took it in Monday and was scheduled an appointment. He took it back in yesterday at 8am, the scheduled time. Like all the other reviews we had to call at 5pm because we hadn't heard anything. We were told they hadn't done anything with it but we should hear something this morning. No call. So we call at noon today, nothing, it's still sitting there. We were told that Gary would call us soon. 3:30 no call. I called and spoke to a very helpful girl and she tracked down someone to get an update and promised to call within 15 minutes. Gary finally called back within the 15 minutes the girl promised. Guess what he said? It's not going to be until Monday before we can get to it. Wow! If we hadn't called I doubt we would know. I bought my 2019 F150 a month ago brand new. Spent 65k. Since the day I signed this place has been incompetent on every level. Couldn't get it detailed, couldn't get the leveling kit on it and told me that the reason is bc the service dept hasn't done many. Seriously?? Today I scheduled an oil change for 11:45 and when I arrived was told I needed to leave it with them for the day. I bought 5 vehicles here and trusted Gene Messer as my service center for years. I had problems with my truck cutting out. After they sold me a new rear end that didn't correct the problem, they started replacing coils. My emission light came on 500+ miles away from home. I went to a dealership there, and they let know that my spark plugs had never been replaced. My truck has 180k on it, and the spark plugs should be replaced at 100,000. Gene Messer never informed me of this, even as they replaced most of the coils. I spent thousands of dollars at Gene Messer without getting the problem fixed, and the other dealership fixed it for $650. Over the years, they have also not added enough oil and way over-inflated my tires. I will not be back. read more

We had a factory recall on our Explorer. My wife called to schedule an appointment and was told to drop it off the next evening and it'd take 1 day to fix. When she arrived to drop it off the next evening she was told they'd canceled all their appointments due to being so far behind. She was never notified of any cancellation and there was no apology for any confusion or mix up. Pretty poor customer service!!! read more
