A highly recommended place that I'm so grateful we went to. After visiting some of the fancier vineyards, Kiamie became the most suggested place to visit, and I'm so glad we did. It was described a place: with a guy, his dog and goats, a shack, delicious wine, and that's exactly what it was. Super down to earth host, outdoor seating in the shade, with a backyard vibe. The owner was a super cool dude, playing classic rock on the radio, who makes sure your glass is always full and you have everything you need. Intended on a quick visit, ended up staying over two hours and it felt like home. Bought a couple bottles at a great price and got the road. We talked about coming to Kiamie on a few trips down to Paso because we heard it was a lowkey spot with goats and dogs. And while we're all about a relaxed wine tasting experience, especially when animals are involved, the wine still has to be good, and luckily that was the case here! We came in without a reservation on a Saturday afternoon and were warmly greeted by two of the winery dogs - already a big success. We checked in at the tasting room and were greeted by Greg, the owner and our host for the day, then grabbed a spot outside. Greg brought the wines from the tasting menu out 1 at a time and told us a little about each. We even got an extra pour of an off menu wine. We ended up taking two bottle home from the tasting - the rosé and the R'own blend. read more

I had SUCH a nice time here, just sitting under the trees listening to the goats and the birds. If you want to just RELAX at a vineyard, this is the spot. It isnt pretentious or particularly expensive but it's a great time. I particularly loved their rosé - so much that after our tastings, we got a bottle for the table to enjoy. Aram is incredible. He's a super smart man from a big city who just wanted to have some tranquility. He does a wonderful job of sharing that with visitors. If you're looking for an upscale experience, this isn't it. If you're into casual, it's absolutely perfect! The day we arrived there was an electrical issue with one of the machines, so Aram took us back and showed us around, created some fun blends on the spot, and simply shared his love for wine. This was our second visit to Kiamie wines and not our last. Aram is amazing company and his wines are quite good! We are all about small family-owned wines and this is it. Came here for the wine stayed for the dogs. This is not a she she Daou experience. It's quite rustic with primarily outdoor tastings under the trees with a few dogs to keep you company. Known as one of the fav small wineries in the area by those in the know. Wines were very good but would say great but overall solid. Folksy unpretentious pace to taste wine. read more

Definitely a special place! If your looking for laid back unpretentious and definitely different, this is the place. I was completely blown away with their Granache Rose! It was probably the best I have ever had! The decor is hillbilly junk with a purpose! We were welcomed at our car by 2 of the four dogs and then welcomed at our table by the goat!! The tasting was a little too fast pace and one of the varietals were sold out so I thought 20.00 was a little steep for the tasting! We did buy enough wine to cover it though. We will be back! We came to taste at Tolo Winery. These two wineries sit on the same property. Tolo sadly was closed, so we ventured next door to Kiamie Wine cellars. It was a 20.00 tasting fee. We tasted 1 white and 3 reds. Very skimpy pours. Okay wines nothing that said WOW buy me. The tasting room was very rustic (old and tired) as well as the outdoor area.(same) Some freshening up might help improve ambiance and tasting experience . We stopped in at Kiamie during our visit to Paso Robles, this was one of many we checked out. We were greeted right away by the owner/wine maker. The winery is rustic, with goats and dogs, the goats had quite the personality. :-) It was an unusually hot day in Paso so we did our tasting inside their small tasting room to get some shade. The owner gave us a lot of history on his winery, their wines and the area. He had time so walked us over to his barrel room to show us were he made the wine and gave us a few samples directly from the barrels. (Not part of the tasting) It was nice of him to take the time plus we got got to try each layer of one of their red blends. It was neat to see how the flavor evolved for the blend. It doesn't have that big corporate look but you will get a way more detailed and intimate experience with good wines from this family owned winery. read more

Edit: I forgot, the whole point I wanted to do this review: it's $15 per person for the tasting menu. Purchase of a bottle waives one tasting I think. So many positive reviews I feel bad for being the bad guy who disagrees. I was not a fan of this winery or the wine. Many people see it as rustic but I guess I just don't like rustic? Maybe it just conjured memories of traumatizing field trips to farms when I was in elementary school lol. The tasting room is tiny and intimate and there is plenty of outdoor seating. My party was looking for a place to picnic so we took a table and spread out our cheeses and one of the guys came out to pour us wine. I know its nature and you can't control it but I was irritated when wasps kept flying around and landing on our food because we were afraid of shooing them away. My friend managed to kill one and I killed the other one but :\. Not fun. Yummm dead wasp juices on my prosciutto. The wine was mostly dry and minerally. I think the reds were on the dryer side as well. read more

Arman and Greg are friendly and engaging people with a great knowledge of wine and plenty of interesting stories to tell. It was only our third stop of the day but my boyfriend and I stayed almost until closing. We drank wine, chatted, took in the rainy views, and Arman even let me help him light the cool, old stove! Just got back from a 3 day wine wknd. Visited 13 wineries over this trip. KIAMIE was our favorite one of the wknd. Out of 5 people we all loved this place. If you like rustic this is the place to be. The wine was spectacular and will not break your bank. I got the UNLOCKED bottle I think was under $35 ish. The actual tasting room is tiny, you will most likely be sitting in the back area, picture a run down back yard with farm animals looming about. You will be greeted by a GOAT and dogs. This may be the most rustic winery I've ever been to. They are hard to find in Paso. Mary came out to pour us some of the most delicious wine of the day. The Unlocked (blend) was so fantastic. I'm forgetting what the blend was but Tennat was 43 percet of it. I think that's what gave it its boldness and rich character. Everyone working here was super friendly. There was a local guy named Dylan who was taking up a whole table and offered the table up for my party of 5. He sat and talked wine for awhile. We got some great local insight about Paso that we will never forget. Made the whole experience 10xs better. We ran into him at 2 other wineries. Can't say enough about how cool Mary was for not forgetting about us. There were a lot of people taking up tables and we never felt like we were waiting for long periods of time between pours. A lot of the bigger places just don't have the down to earth non pretensions of the smaller places. read more

If you are looking for country this is... wine country. I didn't know this wine or winery at all, but after having left the Justin Vineyard in a big hurry... billionaire owners do not always equal good winery owners, taste, warmth or a connection with its surroundings. Justin is the definition of the Walmart-ification of wine. Good luck Justin. We stumbled upon Kiamie's by chance and what a little gem we found. Bought a flight of their wine and every wine was more delicious than the next. Whomever stomps these grapes and tends to the winemaking is doing a fine job and gets 5 stars! After a memorable visit right next door at Tolo Cellars, the old Filipino guy who follows me everywhere had to wander over to a very well weathered shed to see what they were all about. Doors wide open, come on in! It was like stepping into another time, darkened room complete with rustic furniture, old pot bellied stove (I think, but I may have made that up), wooden floors, wooden bar, and a dear sweet mellow winery dog named Logan. Just so you know, it is Logan who really runs this place. Kiamie Cellars has some pretty awesome wines for such a non-descript looking place. Mr. B, who refuses to admit to a waning memory, bought a bottle of what he called a "red house wine". Now I know, no one labels their wine that way, so sadly I am unable to give you the details. And I will never find it now, it is secured in one of his massive wine refrigerators, of which there are two. But yep, he bought some. And this was AFTER he visited Tolo's where he was audibly moaning from the joy of his tastings, and thus made an attempt to buy them out of their stock. Wine drinker, I am still not. And so I explored the landscape. First was a Meet and Greet, followed by a wordless tour of the slightly soggy, recently rained upon grounds, all conducted by Logan. I then discovered the pens where two llamas were frolicking. They were cooperative enough to get close to the fence. There is a No Man's Land clearly marked outside the pens, so the best I could do was admire from about 20 feet away. Still, it is always a treat to see exotic animals, and a real draw for the kids, if you happen to find a few freeloading in the back seat of your car. Prepare yourself for a laid back, good old fashioned wine tasting experience where small batches means better. read more

I would give this winery 10 stars if I could. I came here on a Paso Robles wine tour and it blew me away. It was by far the best winery in town in my opinion. First of all, you are welcomed as if you are family. The moment we drove up, their lovely dogs ran up to greet us and stayed near for pets throughout our entire stay. Super yummy wines in a non-stuffy environment. The beau and I have turned in to complete wine snobs given our close proximity to Napa Valley, so we didn't quite know what to expect. But honestly the wines are very tasty and the goats, animals and humans all add to the experience :) Also there's a TON of outdoor seating which is awesome in these corona days... Just be cautious of the long drive (it felt like one of the last wineries down a long and windy road) but was definitely worth the trip and hospitality! read more

We love coming here and hanging out with Aram (same name as me!) and Greg - they make us feel like family and their wine is excellent. They have dogs, goats, and cool music playing in the background. We only found out about Kiamie thanks to Sal (who runs the Jeep tours and highly recommend) - this place is a local treasure - not fancy by design - totally authentic space and people... when you want to keep it real, this is where you come - when you want to be greeted by friends, this is where you come. When you want to drink wine that is way above average... you get it! We only belong to 2 wine clubs, and this is one of them.
