Got a platter take out today and was honestly trying to give this place another chance but it just wasn't that good. The avocado was too ripe, you can really taste that distinct flavour and it was not delicious. The shrimp tempura of the dragon roll tasted very old. The salmon in the shrimp roll was very small. Rice was also just meh. I will not be ordering from here again unless it's the only thing open and really craving sushi. The rating is solely for food only.
Kibo Sushi has quickly become a go-to takeout sushi restaurant for our family, so I can't speak for the service or ambiance. We've been here several times before and usually get their maki platters, which are packaged in a gorgeous box that slides open. However, this time around we opted for something different and found that the quality of the maki and nigiri wasn't as good. The maki rolls fell apart more than I liked, and I also found that the fish quality was average, which for a sushi lover, I was mildly disappointed by. I was a little off-put by the tempura bubbles on my salmon nigiri at first because I thought it was bacteria (and thankfully it wasn't!). Nevertheless, I would still come back because it's a neighborhood favourite in the family now, but I might stick with the maki platters.
Ordered this from doordash so unfortunately, I can comment on the ambiance. I think their service is good. We got our food pretty quickly. They has a BOGO deal for the dynamite maki roll. I also ordered the steamed vegetable gyoza. The dynamite maki was good. The rice was soft. The gyozas - I wasn't impressed. It felt more like it was boiled than steamed and the filling was both soggy and grainy. There was a chicken option for $1 extra but not sure if it would have made too much of a difference. Overall: 3.5/5
Make mine to go... !!! Uh.. said no one EVER with DINE IN starting up again! This month long lockdown just made no sense whatsoever but we are Canadians! The majority of us follow what is asked of us, no matter how fatigued we are and no matter how hard our businesses suffer - we all want to work towards a return to something normal. With the lockdown over, it's time to get some food and support our local business heroes that show up to work everyday not knowing what sleepy, tired, crabby... yet hungry soul will cross their threshold. I find myself at a familiar spot. Richlane mini mall was a busy little centre for good eats and other services. Parking was a bit hard to find in the pre-covid era but today... not so much. Found a premium parking spot after the lunch hours - which would not be normal a couple year back. Step inside and it is desolate. Have no fear, roads less travelled are the hallmarks of a good Yelper! Found Kibo near the entrance and I announced ... I AM HERE! GIVE ME FOOD!!! In my mind! LOL! Should I be concerned that we were the only ones in the place? A couple of take out orders were being processed (I think those poor peeps didn't get the re-opening memo - Duh!) and that's about it. Did the vaccine check and sat down. Got their Love Boat for Two combo - it comes with everything for a complete meal. Basically, salad, soups, tempura, sushi/sashimi platter. It's a fairly good sized order for two people - and yes, it can come in a small boat or just a plate. Depends on the place you go. With around 35 locations in Ontario, with a couple in Alberta, this is a large chain for sushi. The salad is your standard mix greens with asian dressing, the miso soup is pretty well textbook but missing the little itty bitty tofu (what!?!), the tempura could have been better... but we are here for the FISH!!! Even with the lockdown and uncertain foot traffic, which usually wrecks havoc for freshness, Kibo did a good job on serving good fish. The rolls were a decent size, the sashimi was cut decently thick, and they added little touches to up the presentation of their offering. Overall it would have been a delish afternoon, but the rice was really off. A bit cold and compacted a little to much. Felt like I got some leftovers and I didn't like that too much. Something that they will need to think about as people start to come back out of the burrows and igloos (no my friends to the south, we don't live in them!!!) with ravenous appetites. Though hungry, I'm a pro foodie eater, I know what good sushi should be, and I know you can do much better! All that being said, it's not quite a 4 but not a 3. Let's go with a cautious 3.5 Stars for this location! Cheers.

The maki rolls are a generous size with a nice balance of ingredients rice and fish. The rice is the perfect texture with a bit of sweetness and a hint of vinegar. I like how the rolls were topped with generous amounts of Tobiko and Caviar, and that they were NOT overloaded with too much sauces. ___ I also recommend their Tempura Ebi Shumai appetizer. The Shrimp dumplings are wrapped in rice thats coated in a crispy tempura batter. It is so tasty!! ___ Maki Platter B (42 pcs) $43.95 California Roll, Spicy Salmon, Red Dragon, Dynamite & Kamikaze ____ I placed my order by phone and the service is so quick and amazing. I have been to multiple kibo locations and have found their sashimi and sushi always so fresh. I didn't get that feeling here, but it wasn't bad. Everything was OK. Nothing blew my mind this time, unlike their Upper Canada Mall location where everything is super fresh. However, I still enjoyed their Sushi Combo C. If you're in the area and craving some sushi, this place is ok if you're not too picky.
Ordered the maki sushi platter c - it was enough for four people. The rolls were pretty good, but at some point all the rolls just tasted the same. It was mostly a mix of cucumber, crab stick, avocado, tempura shrimp in different variations. They had a deep fried tuna one which was the most unique out of all the other ones. If you pay cash, it's 10% discount. Our total came to around $63.
I was in the area for some errands when a sushi craving struck. Luckily I remembered Kibo had opened recently and decided to check it out. I got the sushi B combo, which comes with california roll (which I replaced with the dynamite roll), 7 pieces of sushi, along with soup and salad. The combo was great, between the super thicc dynamite rolls and the fresh sushi pieces. My favourites were the tuna cuts - each piece had some light garnishes on top which added a nice touch. Ample seating inside while there was a steady stream of takeout orders being prepared. Happy to have another sushi spot in Richmond Hill to put on the list. Will be back for some more sushi and platters! There is a 10% cash discount for orders over $20.
Absolutely LOVE the sushi here. It's so incredible. In fact I find it so good I ordered twice in the span of one week... Convenient location and great menu. For me what stands out about Kibo is the freshness of the quality of the fish. The salmon is just incredible and honestly you can't say that about everywhere. I ordered the spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls (which come with miso soup and salad), premium salmon lover set (sashimi quality was A+), and salon teriyaki. Freshness, quality and presentation were all A+. Definitely becoming my go-to sushi spot. Thanks for great food Kibo!
We got takeout here for a family event. It was recommended by relatives who had a good experience. The main dish was the monoi special boat. Filled with fresh sashimi, sushi and rolls, this was a great choice. The rice has a bit of sweetness and just a hint of vinegar. The fish is all super fresh. Rolls were constructed well, balance of ingredients inside and outside. Everything was great in the platter. 5/5 The buckwheat noodles with cubed raw fish and veges is like a noodle version of hwedupbap. Again, super fresh fish, veges and noodles. Delicious spicy sauce to tie it all together. 5/5. Glass noodles were complimentary but man do they give a large portion! Usually we just see tiny containers of it when it's free from other restaurants. Delicious as well. Price: Pretty reasonable IMO for what you get. Definitely recommend coming here for fresh sushi.
Heard this place had pretty good reviews so we gave it a shot. For two, we ordered the love boat which comes with soup, salad, two appetizers and sushi. Although it didn't sound like a lot, it filled us up in the end. The price is reasonably as sushi is quite pricey to begin with. The service and the overall environment was good. Though keep in mind that the restaurant is quite small so I would recommend coming early to avoid waiting!
With locations all across the GTA, KIBO is a Japanese restaurant that offers a wide selection of sushi & sashimi combos, along with a la carte as well. Although their locations are predominantly in Toronto, KIBO in now also in Richmond Hill, which will be focus of this review. Fun fact - the word KIBO is the Japanese interpretation of hope. Their sashimi A combo came with 15 pieces of chef's choice items - which included salmon, tuna, butterfish and much more. Everything tested fresh, not to mention it had gold flakes to enhance the presentation. We also tried their weston and sunny dragon maki. The weston had avocado, cream cheese, spicy crab all wrapped inside a deep fried seaweed. The sunny dragon had spicy salmon, shrimp tempura and topped with torched spicy crab. Came here on a recommendation from a friend. I am glad I did We ordered a Maki Platter (C) with 65pcs for $65 plus tax and a 5% discount if paying cash. Everything was top notch. The rolls and individual pieces were excellent, soft and fresh. We were completely satisfied considering we trusted this place on Chinese New Years Eve 2026. It was an easy process to order, I thought there would be a massive wait. But upon calling was told 10-15 minutes to make the platter. So Good food, good prices and fast service. Can't beat that. An easy recommendation from me and I will be back for more of this deliciousness. read more
Ordered on the phone and said a 30 minute wait which we agreed to. Arrived to pick it up and still waited another 20 minutes after. The restaurant had patrons but it wasn't full as we saw empty seats. Perhaps they were back logged by having too many other take out orders. If that's the case, we expected them to have been able to plan around it as they committed to the 30 min window. We assume the delay may also be due to having only 2 sushi chefs were present so understand they need more time, but if that's the case an updated estimated completion time, an explanation as to the delay, or any type of communication would've been appreciated. Instead we were told to pay first before the additional 20 minute wait after. We got the Maki sashimi sushi combo A. 32 pieces. The best item was the spicy salmon roll. Nice crunch, good salmon to rice ratio, and the sauce was just spicy enough that those with a low tolerance could eat it and still deliver a kick to those who like spice. The sashimi was a little smaller than some other sushi take out restaurants, however. But the variety was wide. I'd come back for the variety in combo options, but not on a Friday or Saturday to avoid the wait times. read more
This is the second time we've eaten here with the first time being more than a year ago. They are located at Richlane Mall where there is decent choice of other options. What was ordered: Beef Udon Maki Sushi Platter A You don't get the complementary miso soup to start and only the udon came with a salad. Quality of the food was okay, nothing really remarkable to set them apart from the many sushi places around, although they are the only sushi place in this mall. Service was good, although we were the only table in the restaurant due to the time of day we came. Nothing bad to say about our experience but also nothing to make it memorable. read more

Tried Kibo Sushi for the first time. Service was very good and restaurant was clean. I personally prefer their rolls as they were unique and different. read more

Saw some good reviews and decided to give it a go for take out. Boy, was that a disappointment. The worst dish was the Scallop Sushi Pizza. The online order site had 6 pieces of scallop sashimi in the picture. The final product we received could at best be called "Scallop SALAD Pizza"; with little chopped scallops overstuffed with fake crab meat. I don't know whether to call this place fake advertising or flat out scam. For the premium price, this is a place to definitely avoid. read more

We ordered off Ritual and came to pick it up. It took about 20 minutes from the time we placed the order to the time it was ready for pick up. The staff were very kind. We got the Love Boat for 2. It came with two miso soups, 2 salad, a small box of edamame, assorted tempura (had two shrimp tempuras), 32 pieces of sushi, sashimi and maki (Red Dragon 10 pcs, Spicy Salmon 6 pcs, Assorted Sushi & Sashimi 16 pcs) for $54.95. Three of us shared this after having a bubble tea and we were very full after! I was very impressed with how beautiful the plating was for a takeout order. There were gold flakes on some pieces and it looked so fancy!! read more
Menu was mainly rolls with alittle bit of cooked items. Tried to order a platter for two with sushi, sashimi, and maki. The waiter told us that's for take out only. WHAT? WHY? I don't get it. I have no choice to order something $20 more in order to get the platter, it came extra with tempura, soup, salad, and edamame. Not very happy with that but I am too lazy to go over the menu and think of something else. The platter has a nice presentation and good size. Too much rolls for two persons to eat. In my opinion it would be better to cut the rolls in half and charge less. The choice and freshness of fish are food court quality. The tempura was also food court quality. The oil for frying is not very "clean" and not enough flakes. A typical Japanese restaurant will have a separate oil for tempura. We also ordered a bulgogi bento box. Again, presentation is good and portion is big. Overall food is average quality, but good value for the portion they give you. I don't mind coming back for the bento box, but not the sushi. read more
