I was craving sushi and recalled someone I know mentioning how much they loved Kibo so I decided to give them a shot. I walked in fully expecting to pay around $20 for lunch but when I got near the counter I noticed that they had a bunch of ready made containers for just $5. On the list of options they had spicy tuna, spicy salmon, dragon roll, avocado and yam, dumplings and some other dishes which are what I usually order anyway so I opted for the spicy tuna and dragon roll. If you're looking for a great price value for sushi this is the spot- their special maki rolls are HUGE, like to the point it's almost impossible to fit it all in one bit. Don't let that mislead you they are packed with some great quality ingredients. Rice is packed well but a little to dense for my liking, moreso for the reason it filled me up way to much Sashimi was also fantastic for a quick grab and go sushi spot. Wow, wow, wow! I initially was going to give them a 4 star based on a Spicy Chicken Udon ($15.90) and Sashimi and Sushi set ($17.20) meal I had several weeks ago, but over the weekend my wife and I shared another meal here of full sushi and we were floored - this is easily the best sushi on the west end of Toronto. We had the Wakame Salad ($5.70), Dynamite roll ($11.45), Avocado roll ($4.55), Maki, Sushi, and Sashimi Platter A - 32 pieces ($37.95), and Inari sushi-tofu skin ($4.55) and every single item was outstanding. My particular favs were Platter A and the Wakame Salad, both of these were not only delicious but also really beautifully presented - the Wakame Salad was decorated with Avocado and several other beautiful decorations. Kibo Sushi on Lakeshore Boulevard is part of a chain of Japanese restaurants in Toronto. The space is small, with two tables for four people, three tables for two, and a counter that sits three. During our meal, we were the only ones eating in; the vast majority of their business is take-out. The menu consists of hand rolls, maki rolls, nigiri sushi, sashimi, appetizers, bento boxes, donburis, udon, appetizers, and more. I ordered the Kibo California (California roll topped with torched salmon and scallop); it was delicious, as the creamy sauce on top added a lot of flavor, although it overpowered the lighter flavor of salmon and scallop. I also ordered the Black Dragon (Dynamite roll topped with grilled eel); it tasted good and was a nice serving size, but I did not like that it was actually topped with eel and avocado; out of 10 pieces, 4 were topped with eel and 6 were topped with avocado, not cool. My spouse ordered the Veggie Sushi Set (avocado & cucumber, yam, inari) with brown rice (additional $2.00); the sushi chef did not pay attention to the order and made the sushi with white rice. It took a long time for us to get our food - they were very busy with a lot of take-out orders - and we did not want to wait for them to make it all over again with brown rice, so we just asked them to not charge the extra $2.00. Had dinner here with my partner, night before flying out. Location is really convenient to the 501 tram on lakeshore. Portions were huge, we only had love boat for 2 for $42 and was so much food we had enough lunch for the next day (maki rolls). I am spoilt enough to live in Vancouver and travelled, eating sushi/Japanese in HK, NY and Sydney, Mondays are not the best day for fresh seafood anywhere and so the sashimi and sushi weren't the freshest. Rolls and sashimi portions are TINY (I was still hungry after sharing 3 rolls and 14pcs of sashimi with my hubby, which is usually more than enough for us at other sushi restaurants). The rice was MUSHY (ugh) and my dynamite roll came drenched in a weird sauce that I completely was not expecting. Miso soup is also TINY - not worth the $2.50. I love Kibo sushi so much! Every single time I come here, the staff are always so kind and sweet! I've never been disappointed by the food I order! The miso soup is delicious, their house salad has an amaazinnggg salad dressing and their rolls are ALWAYS fresh!!!! Great place to go to for quality sushi at a reasonable price. My girlfriend and I always go there for sushi in Etobicoke.They renovated the place so the interior looks much nicer. 4.5 stars. I think I've found my new favorite sushi place in Etobicoke! The quality of the sushi at Kibo is very good. The preparation of the rice was on point: cooked through, but you could still distinguish each grain of rice within the mouth. We ordered delivery through skip the dishes. Everything was packed nicely. They gave us some cute little foil trays to pour soy sauce into, which I haven't received from other places. The side garnish of sliced cucumbers was noticed and appreciated. We had the salmon lovers combo and avocado cucumber roll, with veggie tempura. Everything tasted great and the price was good too. I'll be ordering sushi from Kibo again within 2-3 weeks for sure and will try some more dishes next time. read more

I wish my experience was five stars like everyone else's. I ordered the spicy tuna and spicy salmon combo online and made sure to ask for extra wasabi. Unfortunately, when I got home, there was only two little packets of soy sauce and less than a teaspoon of wasabi. It was very difficult to enjoy it without the condiments. I ordered online on a Tuesday evening- it told me it would be ready in just under an hour, but when I called them to ask for the order to be rushed, they had it ready in just about half hour. Great experience at this new sushi restaurant that opened up near our place. My wife and I ordered the love boat for two. Excellent starters (miso, salad, edamame, tempura). Sushi came out on a wooden board rather than the typical cheesy wooden boat and the presentation was excellent. Sushi quality was very good for the price paid. Server told us we weren't welcome to sit down because we had children...We shouldn't have, they prioritize online orders over sit down so the wait was ridiculous. They didn't have a high chair so my perfectly quiet and content 1 year old sat on a bench and enjoyed his food from his lap. As they brought us our meal she said "they don't have highchairs because they are take out only". But they have an eat in cash discount and EVERY TABLE IN THE RESTAURANT WAS FULL by the time we left.
