We had a big group and our waiter did an excellent job taking care of us by himself. The place is spacious. There were a few arcade-like games for kids near where we were sitting. Everyone who had the salad said the ingredients were fresh and tasted delicious. The quesadillas also got great reviews. I like how the chicken tenders can be tossed in any flavor like the wings. The lemon pepper flavor was delicious. The wings tasted ok, but their appearance made me wish I left them off my order. I was able to eat outside with my puppy, and our server was amazing. She checked on us and made sure my puppy was taken care of with a water bowl. The food was delicious, I ordered something unusual, but they were able to cater to my request. I had chicken tenders and fries with queso poured on the top. We can't say anything about the food because we sat for 20 min with servers and "host" staff walking by us. The first host (female) said we could sit in the bar and waved us to the bar area. We sat at a table in the bar area. After 10 min, the second host (male) came over at the table we sat at and said "oh, you guys need a table?" He brought over menus and silverware without a word. Then the three up at the hostess stand stood together looking at us. Three servers made eye contact with us and walked right past us. We finally left after no one acknowledged us with words - but with stares. The "host" staff should learn what that job means. They were very immature and were obviously upset that we sat at a table. I ordered wings to take out & when I went to pay, I discovered that I had left my debit card home. I have a credit card, but since the date had expired, they sent me a new one. Because I use my debit card for everything & have no credit card debt, I had not activated it. I seldom carry cash, so did not have a way to pay. I did have a check in my car, but they don't accept checks. While I was on the phone activating my credit card, the young (college aged) hostess came up to me and said she was going to take care of the bill, which was over $50. I told her "absolutely not"!! My credit card was activated, and when they started to run it, we discovered that I had accumulated enough credits from past visits to cover the bill. I had enough cash to leave a good tip, so I did. The wings are wonderful, so we eat there frequently. However, that young hostess's empathy goes beyond expectations. I gotta say I loves me some chicken tenders at Kickin' Chicken and they have the best ranch ever. But service has been going downhill for sure. I will say they've always been super helpful when mistakes are made and very apologetic, but after rudeness from the hostess over the phone, mistakes in delivery orders (placed on Toast Tab) that can't be fixed, and missing items in orders, it's been a rough go lately. I tried to call in a pick-up order last night and they answered and put me on hold, which is fine, and then I waited ten minutes with no answer. I knew at that point that I was not going to be happy with my order/experience so I called somewhere else. I know folks are struggling with staff and I like the food so I'll try again, but it's been tough with them. read more

They had the volume on for the game and good atmosphere to watch football. The beer prices are reasonable and they have a large selection of draft beer. Service was very good and our server continually checked on us throughout the game. I ordered the chicken nuggets and fries. The food will not blow you away but it's solid for the price. This spot used to have decent wings. Unfortunately, my last visit the wings looked like what we used to call "wing dings" back in the day. I hate sending food back, but the bartender was very understanding. She mentioned something about changing distributors and since the wing size has been a hit or miss. i appreciate her understanding and offering an explanation rather than excuse. As for the ambiance...sigh...this place fell off. They may have staffing issues that slows down their ability to quickly turn tables, but to enter an establishment and see tables that haven't been bussed is not the look. I've been at cleaner dive bars. If you don't have high expectations and you're in the area, check them out. If you're particular about your food and dining experience, you may want to pass. Well here's a place that just keeps getting worse. The whole place is in need of a deep clean as it reeks of grease and backed up toilets. Just looks sticky too. Service was awful this visit with beers not getting to us until after the food arrived (tiny wings these days too). Only about 12 people in the whole place so it wasn't like they were backed up. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating. She was very attentive during our visit which is slowly becoming a rarity with restaurants post pandemic these days. I ordered 12 wings with lemon pepper and teriyaki as my flavors. Both were extremely flavorful. Some may see it as TOO flavorful which I'll say is my only downside with this meal. Some bites the lemon pepper had just too much salt and lemon to where you immediately needed a swig. Other than that, wings were cooked without being dry and the fries were great as well. Sorta what you'd picture homemade McDonald's fries would be like lol. Used with freshly cut potatoes in new grease! Food Truck Review Only: Our school is really enjoying our monthly 'score' of being a food truck stop for lunch. As I've stated before, teachers don't get to have lunch off campus and to have a treat like this is really nice. The kids at school always talk about how much they love Kickin' Chicken and I have to say I get it. The nuggets are real chicken white meat, deep fried in a fairly light batter. These tasted fresh and were very tender. I also enjoyed their Honey Mustard. Some are too sharp, but his one had a tasty ratio of ingredients. I'm not a big fries person, so, I ate a couple and they were good, but, honestly, there were so many nuggets I couldn't eat anything else. In search of a quick bite that wasn't a drive through burger I landed at Kickin' Chicken. I visited a few times in Mt. Pleasant and enjoyed the experience so decided to try West Ashley. I decided to try the chicken fajita salad and it was a delicious choice. Requested the dressing on the side because I was unsure of the heat related to the ranchero and for me it was pretty hot. The server was happy to bring me regular ranch and it nicely complemented the salad. It was topped with a generous portion of grilled chicken, peppers and onions. Also on the huge platter was black beans, shredded cheese, cukes, tomatoes and a nice portion of house made tortilla chips. It was all fresh and delicious. We also enjoyed some stuffed pretzels for an appetizer that came out piping hot and very tasty. Our server was very attentive and kept our beverages filled. Great atmosphere, it's a garage style restaurant and perfect for a nice day outside where you won't sweat to death. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the area, very open about places to check out and when. Decent size menu, the mozzarella sticks and egg rolls were great. They also claimed to have the best ranch dressing and did not disappoint! The beer selection is mostly local and has a great variety, and they can also do cocktails and mocktails. I visited this Kickin Chicken location on a Friday night at around 8pm (pre-quarantine). There was a live performer doing some guitar covers which was an unexpected nice surprise! My party of two was seated immediately and we were able to order. I got the kickin chicken sandwich with fries. The sandwich has bacon, chicken, provolone cheese, and a side of the signature sauce. I have to admit that I haven't been to Kickin Chicken in a few years but have good memories of coming here before. The sandwich at this visit was unfortunately quite dry. The chicken definitely lacked moisture and I was glad for the sauce to help with that. I ended up asking for more sauce to finish up my sandwich with and for my fries as well to help with the moisture and also because the sauce really is tasty. I also seem to remember in years past a spicy version of this sandwich which I enjoyed. I couldn't find it on the menu this time though, so I'm wondering if it was removed (or if my memory is just faulty - a definitely possibility). I think having a spicy version (that is not the buffalo version) would add a lot to this sandwich. read more
