I didn't hear about this place until my kid was at least several months old, but since then I've been in a few times. It's a great resource for affordable clothes and they have a good selection of shoes, swimwear and gently used toys for children as well. I've gotten clothing and a few pairs of shoes there and I'm always happy with the price and with the fact that the stuff seems barely used. It's easy to shop there, and not usually crowded at the times I go so I can be in and out as fast as I want to be. The staff is always friendly and efficient. I'd be interested to see how the selling part works, but I've only ever gone in to buy. Glad there's a kid specific consignment store in Cville! Lowers my footprint, saves me money, and makes me feel better about buying my kid clothes I know he'll grow out of again too quickly! read more

What a great idea! Not only do know that someone else will wear the outgrown favorites, but also the prices in the store make replenishing your own kids' wardrobes affordable. The store is clean and well-kept, the clothes are also clean and displayed by size, the toys are in good shape, and the new things are not over-priced either. It is true that what they give you for the things you bring in is low, but that is how they offer things at such bargain prices. I found the staff very helpful and friendly. I brought in clothes to sell. All were washed, folded in sets, and no tears or stains. They only accepted less than half, saying that some were out of style, yet they had items just like it on their racks for sale. Button down collared shirts for boys do not go out of style! Then they wanted to know if I wanted them to keep the clothes they didn't buy. I told them no way, I would take them to the Salvation Army and donate. I wasn't sure they wouldn't try to sell those clothes and not give me credit. I haven't donated anything since, I donate to Salvation Army where I know they help families in need! read more

I had started collecting baby items for a few causes including for myself when things fell through and then I too found out I will not be able to have any children, instead of good stuff never used still boxed and a constant reminder I figured I'd sell and donate items. market place was too much with all the people asking if it was available and no response after saying yes and don't want to meet up with strangers to sell just one item occasionally I thought this place would be good to go. I brought in well over $400 unused still boxed items and got $92 if I didn't just want it gone I'd have sold myself but just wanted to be done . one item I had sells new $120 currently and they had a used one for $104 on the floor so out of 3 boxes and a few large items I didn't get anything but ripped off MAJORLY. I also found many items I had purchased before on clearance years ago for more than double what I payed in store. some items had an ok price but not really different from store sale and clearance . I wanted to clear out some items but if you have time and availability sell or donate yourself this store really is pathetic how worthless they make items seem. I really should not have sold but with continued inflation every bit helps but never sell unless you don't care if you get a penny or nothing then I guess get you a penny but when you add up what I had and what they paid yeah it's literally like Pennie's and again nothing was opened and I have all receipts from amazon that are only a couple months old if that . So many items were $30-$50 alone and so basically I feel they bought a few and then just kept everything else I literally lost hundreds of dollars but now you know so you can avoid . Do not sell your clothes here. It is not worth it. If I could give 0 stars I would. TLDR: Brought in 50 items of mostly Carters and Gerber clothes. Was not told that once they sort your clothes they will not give them back and you cannot reject the offer. I was offered $14 store credit, $10 cash, for 20 items. I chose to donate the rest at the start of this process not knowing I would not be able to get any clothes back if I did not like their offer. If you are looking to get a decent price for your clothing you're better off driving an hour away to Once Upon A Child or selling on Facebook Marketplace. I brought in over 50 items of clothing for newborn and 0-3 months. Maybe about 10-15 of these were Christmas/Winter themed due to my daughter being born in November. I fully expected that they most likely would not want these. Most of the clothing was Carter's and Gerber brand. Carters especially is more expensive but it's also good quality clothing. All of the clothes brought in were in essentially brand new condition as most had only been worn once. When you bring your clothes you are told that once you hand over the clothing and they sort it that you are not able to reject the offer and get your clothing back. I was not told this. You also have the option to choose to donate any clothes they don't take (before knowing what they will or won't take). I only heard after I gave my clothing over because I overheard it being explained to someone who came in after me. I didn't think anything of it at the time but when my name was called to be given my offer, I was shocked and appalled to see that they were only taking 20 items and were offering $14 in store credit or $10 cash. That is less than $1 per item when they were selling Carters onesies for at least $5 and full outfits for approximately $7 (which I had quite a few full outfits). If I had known that more than half of my items were going to be donated I would not have chosen that option and would have tried to sell them elsewhere, especially considering the abysmally low offer I was given. I will not be selling clothes here ever again. If I was to go an hour away to Once Upon a Child where I would have most likely gotten around double what I received here or tried to sell them in bulk on Facebook Marketplace. read more

I love this place! Having a baby during the pandemic meant that I didn't do a lot of clothes shopping before or after the baby arrived. We've been mostly trying to keep him home and away from crowds even though we're both vaccinated. But heading over to Kid to Kid during some solo time was so much fun for me! I'm asked up, rolled in the door, and was able to sell a number of items that no longer fit for worked for the baby while stocking up on new clothes and costume parts for Halloween. The staff was friendly and courteous in the process by quickly despite the fact that a few people were in line ahead of me to sell their things. I highly recommend them for the selection And quality of options available as well as the courteous Ness of the staff and ease of overall transactional experience. read more

Yesterday was the first time going to kid to kid and the most important thing to take away from my experience is not to buy toys or sell clothing. I would purchase clothing, but only if I was already in the area. I took a 13 Gallon bag completely full of a mixture of clothing, plus an armful of jackets and stuff that didn't fit in the bag to sell. Most, not all, of the bag was from stores likecarter's, oshkosh, and kohls in excellent condition. There was a like new winter jacket, a like new wind breaker jacket, etc that were about $30 each from carter so while I didnt expect to get a fortune, I did expect more than I got. I ended up getting $14 in store credit or $11 if I had taken cash. So for all that stuff I was able to get my son one t-shirt and an $10 toy. If I had gotten only clothing I MIGHT have left with 3 items at most. They had a bunch of t-shirts and shorts I would have purchased, but there weren't any pants for my kid(4t), and only a couple of pairs of pj's. They had some nice books, and they had a ton of melissa and doug toys but prices were outrageous​...their price was between $20 and $30 for the same items that sell for around $11 on Amazon. I typically shop at the Midlothian location. While visiting Charlottesville we decided to stop in Kid to Kid. It was New Year's Eve so most stores do close early but there was no sign on the door to indicate a early closing time due to the holiday. When we got in they quickly said we only had 5 minutes until they closed. We told them there was no sign outside so we weren't aware. As we rushed to look at the shoes, they actually turned off the lights! Rude. I will never patronize this location again. They employees are not friendly or courteous. read more

It's not a bad place to find some deals on kids items and cloth. Just don't waist your tone trying to sell them something. They rummage through your nicely folded items and then THROW them in the boxes. Then only offer you around $.25 per item. Maybe it's just me, but after the lady destroyed one box of clothing, I took my other 5 boxes back to my car. No way I wanted to refold although clothes, so she could pick out all the top name brands and give me pennies! read more

I am enjoying a more diverse staff and the changes they are making to fix what was becoming a very negative and disorganized store. I think the amount of brand new stuff at standard retail is a bit sad, but it'll be hard to bounce back from the awful reputation this location got for buying items. I personally would rather donate than only get a dollar for the freshly washed and folded clothes. I still see items with stains or bad hems, but overall the last trip or two are encouraging me to give the place more chances read more

Wish I could give MINUS stars. Staff was rude and acerbic when I went to get my grandson's 2nd birthday gift today. I've been buying and selling items for my children here for 5 years. It has just progressively gotten worse. This evening it took more than an hour for them to check my items, pick out very few things and yell at my children for getting antsy that we had been in the store for so long. Employees were cleaning the store rather than finishing my sale, all while huffing and puffing about me waiting by the counter. They do not take items that are in better condition than what they are selling in their shelves and they give you pennies for what they will take. This store is well kept, the inventory is great and the pricing excellent. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. For parents and grandparents, this is the place to go when your little ones need clothes. Should accept more clothes than they do. Super friendly ladies working there today and they were so sweet to my baby girl.

Bought items in to sell. Over half of stuff was sent back that was new and in the box still or had tags on them. They didnt accept them which I think was completely wrong. Then one of the sales associate made a smart comment to a customer. About him having a heart attack for waiting. When they take forever to accept few items. While others are walking away and ignoring other customers. Overall first time in this store and selling in this store was awful. So I would say I more likely will NOT Return. I had better experience at goodwill and other resell stores. Then with kid to kid. Rude staff. Only looking for certain items. Definitely would NOT recommend to anyone. I wish I read the reviews beforehand. Because I would have NEVER went in there. read more
