This place is just no good. The employees are pretty much as rude as they get.... The prices are ridiculous for used stuff... I can get new stuff from children's place for cheaper. They never buy anything. Then they will say it was stained but it's literally brand new... Bought a pair of boots from here and tried to sell them back and they wouldn't buy them because they were in bad condition... 9 outfits and 5 onesies for only $24 bucks! Plus two Barbie type dolls for $6...I'm impressed. I have to say I have been here before to sell clothes and I wasn't very happy... I brought in three storage bins of good quality clothing and walked out with three storage bins of clothing because even though it was May they said they were no longer looking for girl's summer clothes anymore so I left a little frustrated. Lesson learned, I will call ahead from now on to see what kind of clothes they are looking for. Fast forward to today, I'm expecting a little boy in a few weeks and have 0 clothes for him so I decide to try this place out before heading to Target or Kohls. They had a huge selection of newborn boy clothes all for $1.50 to $4 depending on type of clothing. All of the clothes look new and are super cute/ in style. (I've been to other second hand baby stores before where everything looks straight out of the 80's) I was super impressed and happy with what I got. I must mention too that they have a HUGE halloween selection! I wish I had went here originally for my daughter's costume...the same exact dress in excellent condition for $8 instead of the $25 that I payed, and quite honestly they had more of a selection than the Halloween store we bought her costume from. I should note that baby furniture from what I can tell isn't a whole lot cheaper than what you would buy it at the store for...but if you really need to pinch your pennies as much as possible $10 cheaper really can make a difference. read more

I've been consigning and shopping at this particular Kid to Kid for several years and I have only had positive experiences. The ladies working there are very efficient in getting your goods sorted and I've found them to be fair with what I bring in. They also have a great selection of kids' toys and clothes and it's clear they make a lot of effort to choose wisely so that when you make a purchase there, you know you are getting a quality used product. Kid to Kid Phoenix treated me so poorly I cannot believe they are a business catered to children. The staff is unfriendly and they knowingly sell broken merchandise. I recently purchased a used "Maclaren" stroller for my special needs son to visit a hospital back east. When I arrived at the airport and opened the stroller, the brakes were broken, and the back tire was coming off, making it impossible to even use it! When I returned from our hospital trip I visited Kid to Kid Phoenix. They refused to do anything about the situation. It took the owner Chris 10 days to get back to me after I tried calling multiple times to get a resolution. If you want good customer service or to be treated nicely don't shop at this store. If you are looking for baby items go elsewhere and save your time and money! read more

I have to be honest, I wasn't in there looking for clothes but on a sales call, but I really liked this store and promised them I would write about their little pink door. You have to go there to see it. Get your picture taken in front of it, like me! It makes you feel taller than you are! The staff was very upbeat and friendly and I think if I was in the market to buy used toddler clothes, this is where I would go. Also I want to stress that these shops need your business. Great resale store for kids clothing. They carry a great variety of clothing and toys and I never have trouble finding something to buy. They are very picky about what they buy from customers so most of what they sale is in great shape (although I admit I am sometime surprised of some items I see when I know they have turned down better items I have tried to sale them). I usually shop here first for my baby clothes before heading to a regular clothing store. read more

Not my fave, much prefer Once Upon a Child. It's not as organized and the set up isn't as good. Prices seem OK, I did get three pajama sets for $2.50 each. I have been going to this location for over 3 years now and have always encountered polite and helpful employees. When they don't take something, they explain why and will even tell you to bring it back another time if it's due to season or just overstocked on those items at the time. Stereotyping people "desert brain Arizonians" certainly does a good job of offending more than the people that work here. Very hateful. Ugh. I'm always just so disappointed. They don't seem to be discriminating at all when they buy clothes... I see tons of out of style, tacky, Walmart clothes. If they do get something new or a better brand, they jack up the price. $15 for a shirt. I left here with a $3 book and then went to Once Upon A Child. All their books are $1.50 btw. I left OUAC with $25 worth of merchandise: 2 DVDs, a book, a green toys truck, two outerwear pieces, and a Mickey Mouse shirt in like new condition. I could have bought more too. read more

I visited in the evening. As I walked in the front door, there was an associate working right there. She didn't say a word or acknowledge me in any way. I was the only customer there. Also, the store smelled very strongly of air freshener - and not in a good way. It was quite overpowering and unpleasant. I left without making a purchase. read more

best place to come if you are looking for cheap kid clothes. i went in and bought a couple outfits for my daughter and walked out barley spent 30$ which is great. besides the good deals on clothes i wouldn't recommend going here if you have high hopes for customer service. The customer service was HORRIBLE , the whole time the girls were just gossiping while showing each other stuff on their phones. This location has the worst customer service and always make you feel like you are wasting their time. Yes, I have found some great items here, but save your time and go to the Scottsdale location. Don't sell anything here unless you plan on taking a huge loss, they make all of these excuses not to buy your stuff after all the effort you put into getting it ready for them. One more thing- they only have ONE cart with a seat in it. For a children's store it really makes it difficult to shop when you have a child. They do have a "play area" but it is dirty and most toddlers don't like to be dumped in a corner while their mom shops. Very bad customer service. They take very long to provide a quote for toys. The petite gal behind the counter claimed that my gate was broken. It was fully functional but she insisted it was not working and refused to let me demonstrate how it should work. This review would have gotten a one star if not for a very friendly associate who was very helpful on a weekday. Unfortunately I did not get her name. I have 8 children so I have been to a lot of consignment shops for children and this was definitely a disappointment. They have a lot of items for babies and little girls, but seem to forget there are other children - like boys who out grow or ruin clothes playing outside and have moms looking to buy more. Some prices are good and others are outrageous. Buy back not a good deal. I brought in 3 bags and earned $19 and change back. When I looked back through what wasn't taken, they had split up 2 piece outfits. Very disappointed and feel unprofessional. Never had this happen at Once Upon a Child. I will not likely come back. Also, woman looking over items to purchase (assumed she was the owner) was extremely rude and constantly snapping at her employees in front of customers. As a consignor I wouldn't sell my stuff here. First, they cherrypick only your very best things and/or only things they need in their store. So, if they happen to have a couple pack and play's and you are selling one you went to the trouble to bring it there and they won' buy it even if its mint. Dragging all your stuff there is a hassle for them to take only a portion of it. Second, their pricing structure is unfair. They pay you cash, yes, but they pay you 25% of what they think they will sell it for which is peanuts. So a like-new swing that you paid $160 for they might decide is worth $70 on the floor. You get $17.50 for it and they pocket the rest. For $17.50 I'd rather give it away or better yet just sell it myself on Craigslist for $70. Or, there seems to be plenty of kids consignment stores that will pay you 50% of the retail price once it sells ($35). Example: I brought in a BRAND NEW Christening dress with tags still on it and a matching sweater in MINT condition. They offered me $3.75 for the set and I was so insulted. The next day I listed it on Craigslist for $25 and it sold the next day no problem. So, they are buying only stuff they know they can sell quickly at pennies on the dollar. I would buy stuff here but not sell my stuff here. read more

Terrible customer service. Rude. I have been there many times and purchased many items. One woman in particular is very rude. I took in a huge bag of brand name clothes... some of them never even worn one time. They have you sign a "contract" saying that you will take whatever they offer. I left the clothes there for 24 hours, came back and found that they had credited me 10.00 and had taken almost all of the clothes in the bag worth about 100.00 . Complete rip off!! I would have been better off just donating them to the homeless shelter instead of giving them to these greedy people. I will never shop there again. read more

I went into Kid to Kid without bringing in anything I was trying to re-sell) left it in the car so I wouldn't have to haul it all in. I waited in line and was asked by someone if I needed any help. I then asked her if they were buying and told her one of the specific items I had in my car. She brought me to an isle of toys and said they already had one that won't sell and wouldn't take it. Mind you that that one they had for sale had stickers all over it and was missing all of the accessories, which mine was in perfect condition with a bag full of accessories. I figured I'd just bring that somewhere else. I proceeded to let her know I had a ton of like new Monster High Dolls with tons of extra accessories and she then told me "We just aren't buying right now." Really?? You are a re-sell store that buys other like new kids products and are going to tell me you aren't buying anything "at the moment". I saw other people in there selling their things. I was very frustrated and felt discriminated. The lady didn't even care what I had to sell (also, tons of brand new clothes.) I hope that someone who runs this business reads this and will hopefully guide their employees in better customer service. I won't be back and will not recommend this store to any of my friends who are mothers as well. read more

Drove 25 minutes here to sell clothes. From previous experience I know they stop buying clothes 1 hour before close. I arrived 1hr 45mins before closing and got turned away because "they only have one buyer today so they stopped buying 15 mins ago". There was no line and the store was dead. What a waste of my time. A friend of mine recommended this resale shop based upon her experience at another location. I was excited to see that one opened in my area. I needed a few specific staples for my kids for winter and brought maybe 5 outfits with me for exchange. I arrived a little after 4:00 p.m. and informed the sales person that it was my first visit in and I was informed that they stopped buying at 4:00 p.m., but that I was welcome to shop anyway. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but I just felt like it was poor customer service for a first time visit. They could have taken my five outfits this time and informed me of the rule going forward. I will take my business elsewhere. read more

We are going to the train park tonight to see santa. Living in desert we don't have a lot of warm weather clothes. I needed gloves for my 10 month old. After calling 8 yes 8 places in December, I called Kid to Kid. The worker who answered the phone really sounded happy when she answered and was beyond understanding to my frustration. You would have never known that the line was out the door. She made sure all my questions were answered. She had a few options and set aside what she had for me. As a mom on a tight schedule I appreciated that. When I got there, OMG was it crazy busy. The employee at the door happened to be the one on the phone. She instantly dropped what she was doing to help me, not only that she stayed with me until she answered all my questions. Even though I was only spending $1, I left feeling completely satisfied. I've been to so many baby stores, this was the best customer service by far. I've been to other Kid to Kid locations and was never treated like this. Because of this one girl, I will be a regular at this location now. read more

After hearing such great reviews about Kid to Kid I went there today to sell some clothes and see what I could find. The staff was HORRIBLE to my 2 four year old children. They would pick up a toy or a book to simply look at it and an elderly worker would yell at them to put things down and that they weren't allowed to touch anything. My son took a hanger off the rack and again was reprimanded. Also there was an area in the back that was supposed to be for Kids to play and watch movies. I allowed my children to go back there only to be told that since we weren't purchasing any toys they weren't allowed.I waited for close to an hour and a half for them to look through 2 bags and I was told that I wasn't allowed to leave the store the whole time. After waiting that long I finally told them I'd need to come back and then they said that I never had to wait in the first place. Really? I came back 2 hours later, they couldn't find my clothes or my receipt and then after locating them (another 15 minutes) they gave me cash instead of store credit which took another 10 minutes to flex. Needless to say the over 2 hours and rude treatment didn't even come close to justifying the $14 Of store credit I received. Needless to say I will not be returning. read more

I have been here twice now, the first time I was satisfied with the experience. I was reading the other negative reviews earlier today and thought to myself hum, I didn't think it was that bad. After today though I 100% agree. The people who work there ( at least on Tuesday mornings) are indeed rude. The lady taking consignments essentially threw the paper work on the counter with a "here". I shrugged it off. I had a large bag of fall/winter clothes ranging from never worn pajamas, jeans, a few long sleeve thermals, jackets, a used sweatshirt ( which I got here used last year) and used jeans and pajamas. I knew not to bring stained/dirty/ heavily worn clothes bc they obviously wouldn't take them. That being said I go looking around and found some things to purchase ( along with a cat hair covered set of flannel pajamas which I did not buy). I get to the counter to find out they are offering 1.35 store credit or 1.05 cash. I was suprised, but figured they just wanted an item or two. I asked what they were taking and it was a pair of new pajamas, used pajama bottoms (but not the top), the old used sweatshirt( that I mentioned before) and a pair of new jeans. The same rude older woman says " everything else had stains". Now I'm annoyed because I know that was a lie. I told them i will just take it home (in my mind I am thinking keep your dollar) and I would either sell it myself or donate to a good cause. As I'm checking out, the cashier ( a different person) after scanning the tags literally rolls the clothes up in a ball instead of folding them ( in all my life even at other consignment and goodwill stores never had this happen). So I said how about we fold them. She stood there waiting for me to pay as I folded half the clothes before she decided to do her job. Needless to say I won't be coming back to this location and I suggest you try another, more highly rated kid to kid even if it is a further drive. Or just go to Ross next door for similarly priced new items and friendly customer service. read more

I tried to sell a big clear box of my baby's clothes to them ( good brands some items brand new with tags on them) and they took like 11 items and wanted to give me $4 store credit $3 cash. They are very picky on what they buy and wont give you much. I bought an item from them a couple months back and when i tried to resale it to them they refused to take it back . They do have alot of stuff for kids but not worth the prices. The staff is okay. read more

Terrible, terrible customer service. We are expecting our 3rd child so I went to check this place out as we have donated most of our baby gear. First of all, no one even acknowledges that you are in the store. Out of about 6 employees roaming around I think one smiled and said hi. I listened as an employee (who I think may have been the manager?) was very short and rude with a women asking questions about selling some of her things. As I was there they took in an item I was interested in. I called this morning to see if they would hold the item until I could get there tomorrow. I was told that they can only do a 2 hour hold. It was 10:30 am and I live 45 mins away. I asked if they could hold the item until 1 as I could not make it there and back in time to pick up my daughter from school. I again was told they can only do 2 hours. Seriously? You can't hold it another 30 mins? Very poor business in my opinion. My husband joked telling me I should just call back in 30 mins and say "now will you hold it until 1?" At that point I was already so unimpressed with the customer service from the previous day that this was just the icing on the cake for me. I will not be back. Their loss! I was hoping this would be a great place to get several of the baby items I would like to purchase. However, their lack of customer service and unwillingness to budge over 30 mins has lost me as a customer and I will NOT be recommending this business to any of my mom friends. read more

I love this location. I shop and sell here often. They offer really nice gently used toys. We've bought several really nice toys very cheap.i got a leap frog musical learning dinosaur in perfect condition for $4.99 which normally retails for 27.99. They have a really good selection of clothing and really nice brands. The prices are good and they often have promotions or you can sometimes find things with an extra 20% off stamp on the ticket and I often get things with the tags still on it- brand new! I got a beautiful designer Christmas dress for my daughter for 7.99! And yesterday I got her a formal Easter dress for 6.99 and it is gorgeous! No one can believe I get this stuff second hand.We've bought swim trunks for my son to formal dresses for my baby daughter and everything in between. When I tell you the stuff is nice- it really is. The staff is really nice and really helpful- even when it's busy. I also sell here often and I am always happy with the offer. My favorite Kid to kid store. The second you walk in you are greeted kindly. I love to enter a place and get such a nice greeting. I stay and buy. Amazing customer service throughout my whole shopping experience. When I needed help finding items the ladies gladly took me to where it was. There were four ladies working yesterday evening and each one of them were exceptionally sweet. They were also so nice to each other. I over heard one employee ask the other how there day was going. The manager treated all her employees with so much respect. I love to see that. Also, they had a ton of great items. I love Melissa and Doug stuff because they always challenge the kids minds. The manager helped me find an item that was on sale before I bought the same item at original price. At check out, the woman Katie was so patient and friendly.
