The food at Kidd Valley is still ok - not as great as it was a long time ago, but still a good burger dip. Prices have gone up a lot the past few years (about 50% for said dip). At least they still have cheddar cheese and the au jus is good. The service sucks. They don't answer the phone and then when you go in there's always some issue with the person in front of you with their rewards or gift card that wastes five minutes. I don't think this can even be considered food. The crispy chicken sandwich was overcooked and biting into it felt like rubber, it was way too tough. I took one bite and threw it away. Plus the bun was soggy and greasy. On top of that the cashier was incompetent and misunderstood my order, when I said my order very clearly so I had to order again and wait for my food even longer than I should have. He was nice up until that point and when I asked for ranch upon leaving he only gave me one when the guy before me got 2 sauces. He was telling everyone else to have a good day when leaving with their order, except to me when I said thank you all he did was nod his head. First they wouldn't answer the phone. Since it is Juneteenth, I thought possibly they were closed. I had to call the Green Lake location to ask my question and to find out if Kenmore location was open. That should have been my sign to go somewhere else. I ordered a chicken club sandwich. It had no cheese, no bacon - just chicken, a lettuce/mayo glob that was too much of both and a smashed bun, like someone smashed it flat with their hand. I understand being busy, but leaving half the ingredients off a sandwich is just ineptitude. It was so bad I just ate the chicken and had to throw the rest away. So I spent $11.50 for a thin piece of chicken. We got our order to go unfortunately or I would have had them refund me and left. So poor customer service plus a really crappy sandwich that was both missing ingredients and made so poorly it was pretty much inedible. read more

I was having a long rough day and had to find an "alternative" to family dinner late. I've been eating here on and off for decades. Staff varies and they get pretty busy sometimes. The person taking my order wasn't listening very well and in production mode so my first transaction was cash but he didn't remember that I wanted the fried mushrooms. This is a MUST that has always been stellar! So a second transaction was necessary which I used a card and admittedly left a very modest tip due to the confusion and my stress. Sorry! The burger dip was good but it typically comes a bit overcooked. Au jus very carefully triple packaged and tasty. It's hard to give this food and experience four stars but almost worth it. Today I received the BEST service. Raquel who was working the register was managing a very busy turn with the restaurant full, multiple online orders, and customers waiting by the door for 15 minutes or so. As a family of 4, we waited patiently and my twins who are 6 were also pretty calm but I could tell they were starving. As the customers came and went, our food arrived and Raquel gave me two coupons for complimentary burgers. As we didn't expect this, it was such a nice gesture of customer service. I appreciate this location and the hard working staff making each burger from scratch. You can see the patties on the grill, taste the freshness, and see how staff navigate stressors of a long line of orders with ease. In my last review I didn't give this location a full 5 stars. The cheeseburger was a good old fashioned burger, much better than the fast food guys and their cooked and reheated burgers. Busy dinner hour with lots of folks picking up while I dined in. Tables were fairly clean but never saw staff cleaning up; nice to experience fellow customers being considerate. This was my first time here, so I had to try a few different things! The burgers, fries, and shakes were all really good. If I could afford the prices, I would eat here more often. It looked like only a couple guys were running the place on a Sunday, so hats off to them for getting our food out quickly. Adventured to the Kidd Valley in Kenmore tonight, Tuesday 11 April 2023, and had a fun meal and dining experience. The building was easy to spot from Northeast Bothell Way and the parking lot was not too cramped. Finding my way inside, placing my order, and paying were straightforward. The workers I saw/interacted with were upbeat and took their jobs seriously. The garlic fries were perfection to me as a garlic lover. Garlic was the dominant seasoning for my palate, though I could take a few fries and add some salt (salt and pepper packets were provided in the provisions area) and that was delicious as well. For the firehouse club, all of the ingredients were well seasoned on their own and melded harmoniously in my mouth. Bacon strips formed tentacles radiating out from the bun, making each bite contain both proteins (jalapeño bacon and chicken), pepper jack cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and mayo. Altogether and each on their own were flavorful and satisfying. I chose to sit outside, which I thoroughly enjoyed, even on a cool, crisp evening in early to mid-April. We have been coming to this restaurant since I was a little kid. The food is always soo delicious. The burgers are juicy and I love their special sauce. We especially enjoy their fried mushrooms. This is my daughter's favorite place. Anytime she is hungry, she wants food from here. Often she is in need of comfort food too. It has been our ritual for 15 years, for her to give me her order and I come get food for her. Chicken club, double cheeseburger and fish and chips are our usual meal orders. Garlic fries are a soft version of French fries. More soggy than crispy. Lots of garlic loaded on top, which makes the fries lose their crispy edges. Chicken club has chicken, bacon and condiments. Most of the time, the bacon is uncooked and unpleasantly chewy. Shakes here are really good and made to order. Young staff here that try their best. However, their main focus is on drive through orders. Expect a wait of at least 20 minutes to get your food. Deep fried mushrooms are unexpectedly good. Their breakfast sandwiches are also quite filling and full of meat and egg. Be prepared for a longer wait, as your food is made to order. Not a welcoming area to eat inside, appears they prefer you to take your order and leave. Some outside tables, which are appreciated. A Wanted to try many more German bakery items than they offered. Appreciate the effort of replicating a German coffee house in Lake City. Just wanted a fuller line of baked goods to complete the experience. read more

I have always wanted to try Kidd Valley, and I'm so glad I finally did! It was about 8pm at night and we came in to order, to see we were the only ones there. Even though there wasn't anyone there the workers were cleaning and cooking which I appreciate the hard work! We ordered our food at the counter and the cashier was super kind and helpful, some of the best fast food service I've ever encountered. Our shakes were out immediately and omg... they were some of the best I've ever had. They both had amazing flavor and texture, but what blew me away was the Pina colada shake. It tasted so fresh and full of that Pina colada flavor I was looking for I chugged that thing immediately. The rest of our food was also shortly brought out and It was all pretty decent. Nothing to special about the burger and fries, but for the garlic topping on the fries that was some of the best id ever had. The place was also super clean, even for a fast food looking place and the prices were absolutely amazing given the service and quality. I absolutely couldn't recommend Kid Valley enough, 100% recommending their thick, delicious shakes!! read more

I ordered two burgers and garlic fries... Order was done on time but they gave me regular fries instead of garlic fries so I went in to get the order switched. Instead, the kid at the front counter decided to scoop chopped garlic and throw it on the cold fries. I had kids in the car crying so I didn't want to spend explaining how food and customer service works and just left. I had been a loyal customer for over 20 years but that ends today. Today is my first disappointment at this location, but I've got to say something. I'd give a two but for the cashier who was wonderful. The burger was a mess. It was made upside down. So all the liquid from the tomato, the lettuce, and the burger had saturated the bottom bun, which had been flattened almost paper thin. And there was waaay too much lettuce. Maybe it would have been fine if the burger were built properly. The whole thing was a sloppy mess by the time I got home, and a miserable experience to handle. Delicious yes. But also a real mess. I hadn't been here in a while and I wasn't planning on going to this location but it showed as closer to my destination (thanks, GPS) so I made the trip. Honestly it wasn't that great. My first concern was when I walked in the door and saw their rating for their latest health inspection was listed as the equivalent of "mediocre". I thought about leaving but decided to stay. The place was empty and I ordered a chicken sandwich, thinking that I was going to get a breaded piece of chicken. It turned out to be grilled which was fine, and healthier. However, my food was just so so and I kind of wish I had gone to the one I originally intended to visit. This one does have a much better view and the neighborhood (right on Bothell Way) seems safer than Aurora Avenue. Service here was okay, but nothing special. I did enjoy my peanut butter shake. Probably won't come back to this location for a while, but I will come back. Hopefully their rating will be better and they'll be having a better day. read more

When we walked in the cashier was nice and took our order. I asked for a cheese burger, ketchup, lettuce, and tomato. When I got the food I looked what was on it, and I found a plain wagyu burger with just cheese, which is the exact opposite of what I asked for. My son's drink had a hair halfway in it and had to ask for a new one. Food was pretty bad and didn't seem much cheaper than a good sit down burger restaurant. My son found a penny on the ground while I was ordering and was attempting to add it to the tip jar and the lady in the kitchen yelled "hey your son is messing with our tips!" I do appreciate the grouchy old lady yelling at my son giving him a life lesson he will end up flipping burgers for a living if he doesn't do his schoolwork. read more

They're the only place that has a fish option. From food service to menu it's constantly the best.

My dad has been coming here for years, so I grew up in awe of the classic style and constant oldies playing overhead. My husband and I decided to eat here this evening for a nearby tasty option. I had the fish sandwich for the first time and I loved it. It is delicious and that's all there is to it. He has the bacon burger and loved it. The limited time blackberry shake was absolute heaven. I nearly got one on the way out too! The disappointment were the garlic fries. The garlic just falls off the fries so you're left with a mass amount of minced garlic and regular fries... boo. I think I ate at one Kidd Valley as a child. I don't recall ever having it as an adult since I lived in Snohomish County and I had only eaten at a Kidd Valley in Seattle. Since our favorite burger joint closed (the late beloved Dave's in Lynnwood) we have been trying more burger places. Our current favorite is Mikie's in Everett. We also love Dick's (Edmonds location). And Nick's in Everett. So we went to the Kenmore Kidd Valley this last weekend and it is excellent! We went around 3pm and the place was quite busy. And I can see why. We both got double bacon cheeseburgers and they were so good. And I asked if I could do a side sample but do mushrooms and fries - and they were kind enough to say I could do that (it usually is mushrooms and onion rings). And boy - those mushrooms are AMAZING! So good. As are the fries. And I love that I can get both. And their ranch and tartar are also great. Kidd Valley will now be a favorite in our burger rotation! read more

This visit took place during the "Stay-at-home" order during the Covid pandemic, so the dining room was closed. I ordered online using the Uber Eats app. The staff was friendly as my order was being prepared. and my food was ready on the earlier side of the time window, which was nice. When I brought the food home, I noticed there was a small discrepancy between the Uber Eats description and what I'd actually received, so I gave them a quick call. Dennis was fantastic! It sounds like the description on Uber Eats was incorrect, but they still went above and beyond to make it right. Excellent customer service that left me smiling. My kids loved the chicken tenders and my double bacon cheeseburger was finger-licking good. Onion rings were superb; lightly breaded, but perfectly crispy. Even my middle kid who doesn't usually try onion rings had some... and then promptly tried to devour the rest of them. I didn't have a chance to try the chocolate shake because my wife finished it very quickly, with a smile on her face. I'll definitely be back. Otherwise, this is a late 50's diner with flame-grilled burgers in warm sesame buns, with tomato, lettuce, onion, pickle and catsup (all standard). ...and yes, mustard and other garnishes are available on demand. Fries and onion rings are generous portions, and the chocolate shake I had was just right, not full of air, but plenty of chocolate flavor. The tables are very clean as is the decor...just a 50's soda fountain style. Speakers in the corners of the ceiling provided a very steriophonic surround-sound, playing classis Pop-rock from 1958-1966 era, from "Tears on my pillow" to early Bob Dillon songs, all before the British invasion...all music from my teen years (and I'm 72!). I appreciated it. The double-cheese burger was $6.80... a good value for its size. The fries were good but the flavor was potato and oil only (hint: add fish-oil and lightly salt them) All-in-all, a very satisfactory eating experience. I will be back. read more

"Was that it??!" Kenmore Kidd Valley was my first job, in high school, so it's special to me. But- Things just keep changing (aka declining) and I don't like change. I came here because I was craving the mushrooms and a burger. I know I'm going to sound like a fatty, but I left here after my $10 meal not very full, just in the barely satisfied ballpark. I mean usually when you eat here you leave really full and content but i finished my meal going "was that it?" NO! :( The chicken patty was teeny tiny. Really tiny. Must be a food cost thing. And the sampler had a very modest amount of mushrooms and onion rings- by the way, the mushrooms here are MY FAVORITE but they tasted different like the recipe changed maybe? This was my second time in after receiving HORRIBLE customer service the first time around. I figured I would give them another shot. I used to live in WA, moved out of state, then moved back and Kidd Valley was one of the places I looked forward to visiting. Except it seems like so much has changed with the company for the worse. The first time I took a large party and spent about $130 to basically have our food thrown at us. I was mortified that I had been raving about this place to out-of-town family members and I kept apologizing for the awful service because I was so embarrassed. The second time was not much better. I walked in and the cashier was on her phone, didn't look up at all or greet me. I had to say "hello" just to get her to see that I was standing in front of her. Instead of apologizing for being distracted, she looked at me as if I was interrupting her cell phone usage. I began to order and she wasn't following so I had to repeat my order over again. Then she said they no longer do combos so she had to price out all of the items separately making it $17 for ONE meal. When I got my food it was cold and definitely NOT the normal kidd valley standard that I was used to years ago. Overall, both visits have been an utter failure and I will not be returning, especially to this location. The staff needs to receive customer service training because they are extremely rude and unwelcoming. You could definitely get better food and service practically anywhere else for your money. read more
