I love Ezell's much Greatest chicken in the world Food brings me to tears My fourth review on this app, four being my favorite number, saved for Ezell's Famous Chicken. This is my favorite restaurant of all time. I lived in Bothell for two years when I was a kid, and my mom found this place when we got there. The first time we ate it I was hooked. We found out about the notoriety after the fact (from being inside the location). I kid you not when I say during our two year span of living in Washington we ate there probably an average of twice a week, every week. I always had a three piece white meat tenders combo with crinkle cut fries, a roll, and a drink. However, I also enjoyed their mac and cheese, coleslaw, and baked beans. My mom would always get three dark meat thighs or drum sticks, but she also liked the fried okra. The chicken was just perfectly cooked, their breaded recipe is so good, with the milk, it is so flavorful and crispy, the chicken just tastes so so good. And their sides are always really tasty too. The restaurant was really a comfort place for me. When my mom brought home some Ezell's I could immediately tell that she had it when she walked in the door because of the amazing aroma of their muffin rolls, and I would get so excited every time seeing that white bag. Eating Ezell's, despite being so normal for us, was always a treat. The service was always good, the employees at the cash register friendly, the service was especially good after my mom and I kept going so much. We always went to the Mill Creek location and because we were regulars we started learning the staff by name and they would always do things like give us an extra roll or two. One time eating there we even had our meals given to us for free by one of the two founders, if I recall correctly. He said he noticed us often when he was there (maybe because my mom has a distinctive look as a Polynesian woman). I think he was Lewis Rudd (just had to look up the name) because I remember him explaining how he and another man founded the restaurant and I remember him saying he wasn't the one that had the restaurant's namesake. He was a very nice man and exemplified the great service of the restaurant, making us want to support Ezell's even more. Last summer I went on a road trip and visited some friends in WA, and went back to the Mill Creek Ezell's. Eating there was one of the biggest things I looked forward to going back to WA. I didn't want to discuss with anyone how it was after I ate it again after so many years because I didn't want thinking of an opinion to taint or distract my enjoyment of the food, especially after hyping it up for so many years of absence. I was afraid I was romanticizing Ezell's from my childhood and that my sentiment caused me to be unjustly biased. However, being as fair and objective as I could, I ate my usual order and it was just as amazing as I remembered, it was about as close to perfect as you could get, I don't believe in perfection but it's damn near. I cannot understand how Ezell's is only a 3.2 star at the time of this review. Even though apparently there was some kind of falling out with Ezell, the (former(?)) owner/founder, and even though he has a new chicken chain, I still have such an allegiance to Ezell's, which will always have my love. Greatest chicken in the world, or at least in my world and I will die on that hill defending it. Also, as a side note - why the heck is there just a random Ezell's location in the UAE? read more

The restaurant gets its extra star due to the friendly staff that is there. They are the highlight of the experience. However, the food here is just not it. Everything is so bland. We couldn't tell the difference between the regular tenders and the supposed spicy tenders. The only thing that seemed to have much seasoning was the abundance of cinnamon in the peach cobbler. The pricing wasn't terrible, but it would still need to be half as much to come close to being worth the dull experience their food brings. At least they had good sauce I guess. read more

I see some medium reviews and am a bit surprised. I have been going there for years and have been to several different Ezells locations. This is the best one I have been to. The buffalo tenders are always great and consistent. Other locations are good but the buffalo sauce varies from day to day quite a bit. This is my favorite lunch place. read more

I have been a few times with hopes it will live up to the hype. I found the food to be good but not great. The bone in chicken was good. Chicken tenders have always been extremely dry, every time. Fries lacked crunch or seasoning/salt. Their rolls are delicious! Mac and cheese was decent, potatoes and gravy as well. Sweet potato pie tasty too. Ordered togo! They were super busy right before thanksgiving but the staff did well under pressure. The place was clean and plenty of places to sit and wait for our order. I don't know what any of these bad reviews are about? Maybe people taking their bad day out on the food but it was incredible! Delicious chicken just waters in my mouth, the biscuit so so soft and moist it was incredible. Their honey mustard no complaints ever, always 10/10 and the main guy who runs the front in the green shirt is very nice. I wouldn't steer clear because of a few bad apples giving this place a bad review. Easy parking lot and amazing food. Stopped in and got the 1/2 pound of chicken tenders. Chicken was crispy, juicy, just the right amount of breading. Goes great with the honey mustard dipping sauce. For sides I had mashed potatoes and slaw, both were good. It also comes with a tasty Hawaiian roll. Service was super quick. I did a takeout order and it was about five minutes start to finish. Yelp prompts you to write about the ambience for reasons, but since I did a takeout order I really didn't get to experience any internal decor or the mood lighting, in fact, I'm not even sure there was any. My husband wanted chicken, and I wasn't in the mood to cook a full meal. I took a chance and ordered a 16 piece meal from Ezell's. I appreciate the promptness as it took about 15 minutes to complete the order. This location has a 6 person lobby limit, which is ideal considering restaurant size. The customer service was decent in person, better over the phone. We don't eat a lot of salty or fried foods, but my husband said the chicken was bland and wanted me to add seasoning to the chicken prior to warming it up. Keep in mind he is from Chicago, he compares ALL chicken to kHarold's chicken & waffles. Chicken's good. It's when you order ahead of time for pick-up on their website, they'll say it'll be ready in so-and-so; you go to pick it up and they tell you another 15 minutes. What the hell is that?! Don't say it'll be ready for pick up in a certain time when you can't promise it will be. That's really lame and a waste of time. This has happened not only once, but four times already. Next time, I'll justorder 24 hours ahead of time. Then maybe our food will be REALLY ready on time. read more

Ordered online an 8 piece combo, and I went to pick it up. Got there about 25 minutes later, I asked about my order, and they said it would be about 4 minutes. We'll 15 minutes later, I asked where my food the food server said, do you want hot food? I said everyone wants hot food. Then he did say it's because you ordered original recipe chicken, but I said I said I ordered it 45 minutes ago, and you said it will be 4 minutes, not 15 minutes after I got here. So I got the food and was a 2 at best, original chicken with no flavor at all, masked potatoes were grey looking, and the gravy was ok. The rolls were good. After eating, I started feeling a little sick, almost like I had too much greasy food. Never again, this was my first time ever at Ezell's. read more

Picked up food from here a few times. In my opinion, it's better than KFC. Loved their rolls. But I am yet to figure out the customer service at this place. Never had to wait to place my order. It was so good during my first visit. Though it was crowded, I just had to wait for 5 mins to get my food. It was entirely opposite on the second occasion. Waited for 20 mins for 2 piece chicken and a roll. And the roll was missing. Decent on my third visit, just had to wait for 10 mins for 3 piece tenders. And they gave me a 1/2 pound tenders. Well, not sure how it works there. As long as they don't hold me there for long, I am good. It looks like a fun place to work - people keeps on chatting, cracking jokes and enjoying their work. What the heck happened. Placed an order for pick up yesterday afternoon for a 5 pm pick up. Ordered 1/2 pound buffalo tenders, 1 lb. of regular tenders, and 3 piece with roll.. requested 3 wings spicy crispy total with tip 55.60.. I thought since it's my birthday dinner just treat yourself you loved Ezell's chicken in the past. My daughter picked dup the order which she said they had trouble finding the 1 lb of tenders had a very strange coating almost like tempura not like in the past, the 3 wings I ordered must have been from the smallest chicken in the world NOT like I've had here in the past with a nice chunk of breast meat, they were just the wing including the wing tip... at almost $4.00 each. We didn't even open the buffalo tenders as they were for my son in law who was not home yet. read more

Really not sure why this place only has 3 stars. Our family loves this spot. The customer service is always on point when we come. They never have a problem going out of their way when we order all legs as long as we give them enough notice or if we are willing to wait. The spicy chicken, mashed potatoes and rolls are our favorite things here but there is a lot of other delicious food here like the coleslaw, mac & cheese or fried okra. They also have dessert if you want it. This is our go to spot for birthdays and family get-togethers since it's easy to pickup and so delicious. First off- Service is great. I think Connor was the one that took my order and he was super nice. We got 4 piece 1/2 and 1/2 chicken, 1/2 pound spicy gizzards, and 1/2 pound spicy liver. The regular chicken was SUPER dry and so hard to swallow, but the spicy chicken was nice and moist. Maybe the regular was a breast but it looked pretty small so I thought it was a thigh as well... The gizzards were delicious, as always. Highly recommend getting a pound and doing half and half. These are a guilty pleasure and the best item here! The liver, however, is not something I recommend. Simple review: Chicken Perfection! A few more details: I have frequented this location many times, always dine in. Sometimes alone, sometimes with others. They are always consistent, fresh, and very enjoyable. Yes, sometimes you have to wait a few minutes for the next batch; however, its worth the wait. The chicken portions are generous, juicy, and never greasy. The sides are always fresh, don't forget the amazing rolls. Not sure about all the negative reviews cause this location is my favorite of them all. I always ask for my chicken to be well done and they actually listen! The chicken is flavorful & juicy with a hint of spice. The new spicy chicken sliders are bomb and the sauce makes it even yummier. Hopefully they make it a permanent item on the menu. I like the new honey mustard they've been using but I will forever love the OG hidden valley honey mustard and hope they bring it back. Lastly, trayshaun is the greatest employee. He's kind,welcoming and makes sure my food comes out to my liking which is why I make sure to come here when he's working. In my opinion, he should be a manager- I truly thought he was the manager when I first started coming to this location bc he has everything under control and carries himself well. read more

It was a bummer. I've always loved Ezell's but yesterday I placed an order for my family gathering a 24 piece combo family meal. Was suppose to come with 24 pieces, 4 sides and 12 rolls. I picked up my order drove home and 40 minute traffic got home and they forgot my rolls. I was so upset I called them the phone rang and rang and no one answered. I tried them again couple minutes later and told them and they said I could back to pick them up. I asked if I could get a refund for the rolls cause the meal $65 with tax. But he said no I could just go pick them I couldn't leave my family and drive 40 minutes there and 40 minutes back. So sad I guess it was my fault too for not checking at the store but oh well. read more
