It's a lifesaver when you have two kids with you and want to keep your eyes on them rather than focusing on paperwork in the office! Our appointment was at 1:00 PM, and my children were in the dental chairs by 1:04 PM. Heather was incredibly sweet with them. It was my son's first time at the dentist, and even though he was scared and cried a little, she was very gentle and explained every step before starting a procedure. The doctor was also very soothing and took the time to explain the importance of brushing and flossing. My kids were so excited to receive a surprise toy and get to pick out their own toothbrushes. One of the things that most of us as adults don't look forward to is going to the dentist. We probably developed that dreadful feeling because places like Kiddsmiles never existed. Our daughter actually looks forward to her appointments and looks forward to the fun atmosphere there. Upon leaving, kids get a token to use in an oversized gumball machine for a bouncy ball and she comes home with a new toothbrush that she chooses herself. The space is well lit and there are televisions throughout to entertain the young patients. All of the staff are friendly and try their best to make the children feel welcomed and are cheerful toward them. The staff is also efficient and honors very closely appointment times we have set in the past. Checkout is a breeze and future appointment are set based on what best works for you and your schedule. Terrible Experience at Kiddsmiles Dental office at Syosset!!! My encounter with this Office was nothing short of a nightmare. The front desk staff was consistently rude and unprofessional. Scheduling issues were a constant problem, with last-minute cancellations and a complete failure to communicate changes. Despite receiving confirmation via text a week before and on the same day, they turned away my son upon arrival, claiming they couldn't accommodate him. I had taken half a day off work for this appointment, only to be met with incompetence and disrespect. Syosset location Office's lack of communication and disregard for patients' time is appalling. I strongly discourage anyone from choosing this dental office. Find a place that values professionalism and respects your time. Their hygienist and doctors are very caring and professional though. The worst kids smile practice I've been too. I've been to all kid smiles and this is the worst. I've always made my kids appointments months in advance for any cleaning or sick visits and Every time they call to reschedule when it's time to confirm the appointments they give you time or date that's incorrect and then they expect you to take whatever times and dates they have , and don't accommodate you. First, I would like to say that my daughter has been a patient of the Syosset location office for several years. We think Dr. Michele, Dr. Dan and Lisa (hygienist) are excellent at what they do. We are repeat customers because of the good relationship my daughter has with them and level of care my daughter has been provided by them. This is not a poor review for their dental services at all. This is a review strictly of the front desk experience only. I did call and make a complaint yesterday, but after reading some of the reviews posted here, I was hoping maybe Dr. Michele would see this herself and better educate the desk staff in the Syosset office on customer relation skills. My daughter was scheduled for an appointment yesterday morning for a routine cleaning only. My family lives roughly 50 minutes from this office. We travel there because of the level of care, and that they are close to my daughter's school. This dental practice also comes in to give dental education to the younger children at our school. We like to keep giving business to someone who they have a working relationship with. Because of traffic and our distance away from the office we were legitimately 15 minutes late for our appointment. I make no dispute of that. I did try to call them to make them aware but could not get through. However, on my last visit to the office we had to wait in the waiting area for over an hour. I didn't think we would be turned away for 15 minutes, so we continued to drive to the office. Often, we have wait times at the office and we understand sometimes things can happen. I would have liked it if we were met with the same understanding. Instead, we encountered a combative front desk employee by the name of Caitlin C. From the moment we walked in Caitlin was not nice. She rudely jumped on us the second we walked in the door. Told us we were late, absolutely could not been seen today period. I told her that often we wait in the lobby, last time we waited for an hour, and I come from a far distance. I said I was sorry for the delay but would have appreciated a call. She said she did try to call. I said I have nothing from you. I showed her my phone. She dismissed me basically. Then I told her I had been sending an email to an employee who used to help me with back-to-school dental forms. I was looking for the form back at this visit. She insinuated I was a liar and said the person I was looking for is not an employee of Kiddsmiles. Then proceeds to tell me that she herself has been there 5 months and would know. I found this unbelievable. I guess it never occurred to her there could be employees who just don't work there anymore. I actually had to go through my phone to show her a prior email exchange to prove that this employee did exist and asked if there was anyone who gets these emails now that she is gone. Caitlin dismissed that too, and just told me to forward to her email which I did. She filled out my form on the spot. I ended up making a new appointment for a later date and left. When I got into the car, I couldn't believe the exchange that had just happened. Mind you, I have my daughter with me standing right there listening to this entire thing as well as, any other patients. I honestly left feeling like a criminal. The way she received us at that desk was terrible. If we couldn't be seen, then I understand that. But don't pretend to call patients and then insinuate they are liars. I really feel a front desk customer service type position is not the right fit for Caitlin and she should probably find a line of employment she is happier with. She is the first encounter when a patient walks in the door. That is a big deal. If it was not for the dental care my daughter receives at the Syosset location this front desk encounter would make me not want to come back. read more

I cannot thank Dr. Michele and her staff enough. I called on Tuesday for an emergency visit since I did not switch doctors yet. The most difficult thing with a move during covid 19. The staff was accommodating as always gave me an appointment next day and due to Brooklyn traffic (yes Brooklyn) rolls eyes.... I was seriously running late. I called to let them know my eta was an hour and a half due to traffic the receptionist quickly switched my appointment with another patient. Tooth had to be pulled for my little guy. RUN AWAY!!!! DON'T WALK!!! This is the worst place to ever take your children. I WISH I COULD LEAVE NO STARS. They charged me OVER $100 after every visit. They charged my insurance for procedures they didn't even perform on my children. I repeat!! THEY CHARGE FOR WORK THEY DON'T EVEN DO!! They did 6 fillings on my son no laughing gas. They charged my insurance for 8 fillings???? Also, they tried to charge me for the laughing gas. When I reached out to my insurance, my insurance stated that they never responded. My insurance company told me to place a claim against the Dentist. NEVER GO HERE!!!! My husband reached out to them also several times, and they never called back nor answered. It is all a show they make the office appealing to children with video games, and tokens for a ball after cleanings then charge you $375 for cleaning and X-rays!!! I have insurance. Now, they keep sending me notices that I owe more money. How is it possible that after only 2 visits I spent close to $700??? Not to mention they charged my insurance $3,692. Horrible place. I would like to not only give a "shout out" to Kiddsmiles Pediatric Dentistry in general but especially to the Merrick office. This was the first time for my 23 month old granddaughter and my 6 year old granddaughter changed from her other dental office to Kiddsmiles so it was her first time at Kiddsmiles in Merrick. They were both taken care of not only with kindness and care, but very professional as well. From the Hygienists (Katie and Shannon) and Dr. Antonia to the amazing front desk staff, their experience was top notch. I was very worried about the baby as this was her first time, but because of how great the staff was, she acted as if she was playing with a friend. What a beautiful experience for the both of them and, as a grandparent, what a good feeling to have others treat your family as if they were there own. Syosset Location - I would like to start off by saying the low star rating is for the office and billing staff. If I could give them a 0 I would. The front desk is unfriendly and at times rude. The billing office bills for services that were not ever preformed. We have brought this up before and they continue to bill for the same services that we opt out of. We have explained they are using up our benefits and that this is fraud but they do not seem to care. It is is a real shame because once you get past the front desk the dentists and dental hygienists are warm and caring and make the kids feel super comfortable. The office/billing workers made us not want to return and I know many others who have experienced the same and changed offices. Our kids had cavities. The front desk told us they would verify our coverage with our insurance and let us know what our out of pocket expenses were. They gave us a print out of what the bill would be, what the insurance would cover and what our out of pocket cost would be. We paid cash the day of service. The office staff doubled the price they projected when they billed our insurance and we received another bill in the mail which we are fighting. read more

This place is run like a factory. I just left there and was not only rushed but forced to have my kids (just turned 7 this wkend, and 4.5 yrs old) seen at the same time despite booking back to back appointments in advance, getting there 20 minutes early, AND sharing that my older one has anxiety and how I wanted to stay with her too. Of course she started crying after the x-rays, and they just said 'oh she must be tired'. NO, wrong, she's NOT tired, she has ANXIETY. Not the 'I'm scared of the dentist kind' but ACTUAL anxiety. And you just triggered it and sent us on our way. Terrible first impression from this place. Was scheduled for an afternoon checkup, but when we showed up, they made an error on their end of the scheduling and couldn't see us. Mistakes and errors happen, but instead of apologizing for their mistake, they placed the blame back on us and told us we should have came earlier (even though we showed up on time)! She argued with me that the fillings were not done there and when it was factually proven to her by the kids records (that The owner actually did the fillings - her boss) she quickly stopped speaking. They also push and push you to make an appointment even though you tell them you will call back but yet they still keep calling. I don't like deception and inefficiency; both were displayed by Kiddsmiles Syosset today. I had second thoughts to a fluoride varnish for my 6 year old son and they did it anyway - a 2 second cotton swab - cost me $50.00! What a scam! I don't need it for my son's baby teeth! And, when I asked for a refill on my son's fluoride pills, they refused to send it to our online pharmacy; instead, the dentist wants a Long Island pharmacy. Upon arriving at the office I first noticed their amazing decor. It is so welcoming to young children. I looks like a play land. The front desk was very friendly. The theme of the office is a safari which is very detailed even down to the giraffe wearing braces , lol. When our name was called we were greeted by the dental hygienist Ms Kim. She was beautiful with an equally beautiful personality to match. My daughter loved her and willingly followed her into the dental room. The visit started off with Ms. Kim allowing her to choose her very own toothbrush which Dyllan loved. Ms Kim was very knowledgeable and explained each step as she examined Dyllan's mouth. She has an great way with children. Dyllan did everything she asked with out so much as flinch. ( I thought she would have been kicking and screaming lol) She very patiently answered all my "Mommy Questions" and Daddy had a few as well. She advised us when to brush, also which beverages and snacks are better than others for the teeth. Last But not least we were seen by the dentist Dr. Marisa. She was just as amazing as Ms. Kim. She is awesome with children. Dr Marisa was very patient, listened to my concerns about my family dental history and answered all my questions. Dyllan even gave her a hug and let her hold her which is ground breaking for my child. As we exited the room Dyllan was given a goodie bag and a gold coin for the ball machine...she was in heaven. I took my 5 year old son in to have minor oral surgery (some fillings and 2 crowns) he was put under anesthesia and although my husband and I had some reservations the dentist and the anesthesiologist provided us with step by step procedures and made us feel confident that our son was in good hands. They both would come and speak to us during my son's procedure and would keep us updated on our son. Once we returned home we recieved a care package from the office which we were not expecting.
