Kidz Kaboodle is the Nordstrom of consignment without the attitude! Everything I have ever purchased is in perfect shape - if not new. The costs are perfect for the frugal without having to sacrifice quality and the staff is amazing. Not only are they warm and engaging they have more knowledge then most folks that work in some of the larger chain children's stores. Long store review coming up. Let me preface by saying I've done retail. I get it can be petty at times. But there's still right and wrong. But I've also noticed they've taken the option to write a review off of their page. KIDZ KABOODLE Since there's no place to leave a review. I'll give it here. I get it. It's retail. It's a business. And a small business at that. I've shopped and sold here before under the new ownership and hadn't had an issue. A couple weeks ago I went in to drop off some clothes for them to look at. When I arrived it took a bit for someone to greet me. I asked if I could drop off my clothes and run a couple errands. The gal said yes but if you're not in store your items get pushed to the back of the line. Most places are first come first serve no matter what but I said okay and left my items and was awaiting a call with an estimate. An hour and a half goes by and I still haven't heard anything so I call to find out the status. I was told again that I would take priority if I was in store and no they haven't gotten to my items. I asked if I came in if I would be the first and she responded with yes. So I go in and was again not acknowledged. I didn't have time to wait and she'd said earlier that I could leave them overnight. I asked if she could hold the items until friday as that's be the next day I could come in and she said yes. I got a call the next day with an estimate and the gal then asked if I'd like cash or store credit. I said cash and I'd be back to pick up my items and cash. This is partially on me HOWEVER the gal noticed I checked donate but I'd changed my mind and asked if I could just pick up my items. She said yes they'll be under the counter and i could pick them up when I came to pick my cash up. Come Friday I go in to pick up my items..... and they're not there. I'm guessing they were thrown into the .25 sale. Again I take some blame. BUT the gal said she would make sure they were there on Friday. Not only that but the owner didn't even offer to rectify the situation in any manner. Just an "Oh they must've been tossed in the sale and I'm sorry". I wasn't going to cause a scene in the store with others shopping and I was quite frankly shocked at the entire situation. I'm all for supporting small businesses but this puts a sour taste in my mouth. read more

Most of the clothes here (even the ones that aren't on the .25 cent table) are stained or bleached or just plain dirty. I drove all the way from Lacey because I wanted to check out their .25 cent table ... a got a couple shirts but honestly I won't be coming back. It's not the cleanest and I had no issues with the staff they were friendly to everyone, but not worth the drive for the type of clothes they have ... even the ones not on sale ... just all dirty and stained ... blah. You'll have better luck at yard sales if you're looking for baby stuff read more

It's all about customer service! Attitude because I had too many items until they seen I brought in clean north faces, Jordan shoes and everything else on their "need" list then they were nice and sweet when they wanted to see the rest of my items. The fact alone that they were rude before I even brought anything in changed my mind which made them even more snobby. 3 grown ass women whispering to each other and shaking their head after I told them never mind would make anyone feel uncomfortable. Looks to be great for kids' clothing. My daughter was shopping for maternity clothes, and was happy with her purchases. So why only 3 stars? 1. only one dressing room 2. employees who don't know how to smile or act pleasantly. Maybe they were just having a bad day ... but when I worked with the public, Rule #1 was: don't bring your personal life to work. Customer service, to me, means feeling welcome in a store. Depending on what you're looking for they have some good stuff and some stuff that you can get cheaper. They have an offerup page and the prices are cheaper on there than listed in the store. Staff was nice and the store was pretty organized compared to other consignment shops I've been to. read more

This place has changed and not in a good way. Extremely picky on what they buy from you and then you browse the racks and have to ask yourself why because the quality of what is on them is horrible. Their prices have also gone up considerably. read more

Went here in my lunch break. Staff was very friendly but what I liked most was the huge variety of sizes. Sadly I wanted warmer clothes because it's always cold in Wa, but it's understandable to have summer clothes out. Too bad I don't live closer to visit more frequently. read more

I just visited yesterday for the first time in a while and Kidz Kaboodle is finally under new ownership! I could tell as soon as I walked in. The new owners have already made quite a big difference. The store has been completely reorganized and is a lot more clean as well as aesthetically pleasing. They have more of a selection for clothing and sizes, as well as accessories and shoes. A bigger selection of gear too. The prices are WAY better! The staff is actually friendly! If you've tried shopping here before and didn't like it, please give it another try. I was not impressed at all. I went in to consign and when I got there the cashier said we can take your stuff but we won't go through it until Monday....2 days later. I said forget it. I peaked around for a second and was underwhelmed. I went back to my car with a load of baby stuff I still needed to unload-I looked on yelp and found that blooming kids was about 5 minutes away so I went there instead and was very glad I did. read more

Terrible store. Rude staff, old faded clothing (very bad selection), and when you bring in stuff to sell (some name brand brand new things), they tell you they can't accept it and then ask if you want to donate it, so they can sell your stuff without paying you. I have a lot more to say, but I'm going to leave it at this. It was a terrible place and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I had a great experience three years ago, and this last experience was bad enough that I won't try this place ever again. They have great stuff here, and it's so darn cheap. Their $.25 sales are a joke, but they usually have sales going on in the regular store during those times that make it well worth a trip. The punch card is nice too! I have found gear (Boppy, Bumbo, carriers, toys) AND clothes for great prices. They also do a good job of updating their Facebook page so you know when the choice items come in. read more

I've been coming here since my first child 9 yrs ago and now more often since the birth of my second son 4 months ago. Love the friendly, knowledgeable staff & I can always find good quality clothing there at a very reasonable price. They also have toys, strollers, bassinets, cribs, shoes, slings, car seats, bouncers, etc. They are quite picky when trading in items but that keeps the standards high when you are looking to buy. This is a great place to buy inexpensive used children's clothing. They have a huge selection, and also a small selection of maternity wear. You'll find a pack and play or two, maybe a Boppy or a swing... They're constantly getting in new items. The customer service is hit or miss. At times I've gone in and not been acknowledged at all (while the girls behind the counter talked rather loudly about some personal problems...), and other times I've been greeted with a warm welcome the second I walk in the door. I had a heck of a time finding anything I liked for my 18 month old (and I'm not picky!) If I could leave zero I would. Alas, here we are. Awful customer service. A young blonde woman greeted me by saying "what do you need?" in an incredibly judgmental tone. I ignore this as I've worked retail and know how exhausting it can be. I ask a few more questions about where swaddles are and she rudely answers. Whatever. I let it go. There is clearly a new woman being trained who seems super friendly and excited to be there. Her shift ends and she leaves. Once she's out of the business this blonde woman goes "I'm going to have to kill her if I train her any longer. I texted (someone's name) and she said to strangle her so it's quiet." I was too shocked to say anything and pretty horrified. This was loud enough to the entire store to hear. I will not be returning. Oh, and don't price your onesies at $3.99 when it's stained yellow. read more

So apparently things have to be fairly new to get any cash for it. I brung a stroller carseat combo and they said my tires are too worn for them to resell. I also brung a swing but because the small toys was not on it, it was not going to sell. I guess a baby can't enjoy it without the toys attached. Bought a swing there, it worked but only if there was NOT a baby in it. (it would swing, but when you put a baby in it, it would not swing.) They wouldn't do anything about it since it "worked". This sucks because I can't afford anything else. I have to push the swing myself. I think that's poor costumer service. They should have taken the hit of the cost, not the customer who should be guaranteed a working item. Otherwise, it's a typical second hand store. I felt like I was browsing junk. I'd rather get new $5 top at Target or Old Navy for way better quality. On a positive note, my kids love playing here while I shop! That's the only reason I can, once in a while, find an okay item. But remember, it's used stuff with possible hidden rips, stains, or it just might not work with an actual baby. ;) read more

This store is the best baby/kids consignment store in tacoma/ lakewood area. The store is large and has a variety of clothing styles from baby upto children's sizes to choose from. This store has great deals. I have picked up GAP, Ralph Lauren and Gymboree pieces here for less than $5 each in excellent condition and find myself shopping in this store for more than an hour each time because there is so much to choose from. this store also has a awesome 25 cent sale once a month from what I hear and the staff is very nice and has been helpful each time I have visited. I recommend this store to my friends or anyone I know with babies, kids or expecting. read more

This is the best kids consignment shop in the tacoma/lakewood area. They have awesome customer service. They have the same employees from when I first started shopping here 3 years ago. The store, its policy, and system is well organized. The only negative id have to say is some of the clothes they take are outdated or worn, but everyone has their own opinion and fashion taste (so maybe its just me because I'm extremely picky) and it seems like their equipment is getting really pricey. This is a good professional well known business. They arn't like the other stores in the area that have certain times they take items and certain days or times they give cash for items, like i said their policy and system is well organized, not wishy washy at all. Just went in there today and the vibe in the shop isn't very friendly. The worker was not rude exactly but she wasn't very nice either. When I asked about a sale they had going she didn't explain the sale, through process of elimination I figured out what the sale pertained.She made me feel very uncomfortable for mentioning it. Sone things were very over priced, but others were a good bargain. I will give them another shot and see if I have a better experience. My over all suggestion is the shop needs to work on customer service and over all friendliness especially since it is a small shop. read more

Great selection but very pricey for used clothing. The blonde lady working there needs a crash course in customer service. She's kind of rude and just not friendly at all. I went in today and inquired to one of the employees regarding me donating items. She explained to me that they would likely go to the 25 cents table. I said "oh that's all 25 cents?" She said it was but didn't explain that the sale is tomorrow. Naturally I start looking through, and the grumpy blonde lady says "Um, the 25 cents sale isn't until tomorrow." I said I wasn't aware of that and she told me that she guessed it would be ok if I bought one or two items. I laughed and told her that no, it was ok. Place a sign there, or just be polite and explain. Don't expect people who don't frequent your place to know what the giant mountain of clothing is. You guys have a great opportunity to connect with some great members of the community, but instead you're rather unpleasant. Bad vibe. Such a bummer. read more

Customer service goes a long way, particularly with small businesses. Employees at this business appear to be lacking in this area. My wife and I decided to patronize this business and brought our children's clothing in to be appraised and traded for cash. The following business day an employee called my wife and attempted to negotiate an unsatisfactory amount ($11.58 for several items of clothing) which was subsequently declined. I returned to the business to retrieve the clothing however items were selected and placed on the sales racks. I advised the employee of the error at which point she became a bit catty and stated that my wife did not decline the transaction which was a lie. She then called the owner and in her explanation she FLAT OUT LIED a second time while I was present. She told the owner that my wife missed their phone call (referenced above) and we now wanted the clothing back. I confronted her about her lying & she back peddled. A simple solution turned into a "s" show due to the employees poor attitude and lying to cover up their error. Suffice it to say we will NEVER do business with this establishment ever. read more

For my first time ever going to a baby consignment shop, I am very disappointed and dissatisfied at not only the service, but the honesty of the owner. How does one feel justified stealing from a 6 month old? I wanted to over look the items they wanted to buy after calling the owner back, not only did they have multiple of my items spread throughout the store, many other items were gone as well. Luckily, we were able to find most, not all. I will NOT be going back here due to the dishonesty and how they turn around and over sell for retail pricing. I miss the old ownership. I have been a repeat customer for the last four years, and have always felt like I have been given a fair rate for trade in items. We understand they can't take all-most clothing and even larger items like strollers, bouncers, etc, I've been given a decent amount for when we needed fast cash. Today I brought in a double stroller- used maybe four times. No stains, crumbs or garage dust. We bought it for 179.99$ at baby's-r-us less then a year ago. I understand they make a living off of the deficit, but they offered us 27$ for it. The lady was super sweet and researched it online for 179.99$, 169.99$159.99$ and some random website for 109.99$ and had to go off of the lowest bid, a website I had never heard of behind the reputable sights. Less then 25% the lowest price she could find. I get businesses have the choice to make these decisions but it wasn't this terribly low with prior ownership. We live out of the area and will next time just post our supplies to Offer-up. read more

I have to say that I love the large selection and good prices here, but the customer service leaves a great deal to be desired. I've had their mistakes on my consignment account actually blamed on me and lost money/my belongings as a result of it. Additionally, certain employees simply have no tact when handling customer complaints and concerns. I find it hard to understand why a business which obviously thrives on word of mouth and repeat customers wouldn't train their staff better so that customer service issues can be resolved in an appropriate and respectful manner. I'd say go for the clothes, but don't expect too much in the way of help from the employees and be especially diligent about consigning your baby items there. read more

Not too happy with this place. It's too bad there are only two kids consignment stores in Tacoma. (If there is another one I don't know about please share!) Here is why I gave them two stars. 1. I bought 2 infant car seats from them in Aug. One for us and one for grandma. Never used either because we ended up buying a convertible one and just decided to use that to go back and forth between our car and my moms. So they sat in our spare room and I just took them back to resell them back to them and they wouldn't take them because there was a spot on one of the seats and the other was missing foam. So apparently they sell bad carseats by their own standards because we NEVER USED EITHER OF THEM ONCE!! 2. The quality of clothing is lacking. I never find the sizes I need, especially boys items. Another reviewer said she always brings in perfectly clean and high quality clothing but they send it all back. Same here. 3. Quarter sale: awful....enough said. 4. And the sales staff is not friendly, a couple other reviwers said this too and I totally agree. I have never gone in and been treated kindly.
