I took my son to see Erica today to fix a horrible cut he got at another shop. She not only fixed my son's hair but did it quickly. He looked fantastic when she was done! The shop is small but really cute and very well suited for smaller children(my son is 2). She mainly did a scissor over comb cut and she was very nimble around all his movements. Walked in with my kid and the shop was empty. Two of the ladies were just standing talking to each other and when they finally noticed me standing there, one of them asked if I had an appointment. I looked around the shop, which was barren and devoid of customers and told her I didn't although I did notice that the sign and their website said that appointments were RECOMMENDED. But not required. The lady then proceeds to show off the planner which did seem to be genuinely filled with appointments. But it was about 10:45AM, I had paid for public parking, and there was no customers. I don't understand why they couldn't accommodate a walk in when there they are available and there are two of them manning the shop. While they may be 'busy' because they've been booked, perhaps they should change their notifications and make it by 'appointments only'. I take my son here every 6 weeks and he absolutely hates it, (because he doesn't like his hair messed with) but they do a great job to minimize his upset and do a great job with the haircut. I've never had anyone rude, in fact it's always been the opposite - very friendly. You will want to schedule an appointment a few days ahead of time as they get very busy and if you are trying to be a walk in you will probably be disappointed. I see a few reviews about refusing to cut hair of kids upset and it makes sense. Do you want your freaked out kid to start flopping around with shears around their face? I had to leave sans haircut once because my son was just not having it - doesn't make anyone rude. It's reasonable. Hint - I hold my son in my lap while they cut his hair. After the first time doing this I learned my lesson and now bring a slick jacket to keep the hair off my clothes. read more

Best experience ever. Ericka was awesome. Super patient with my 2.5 year old (turning her head and moving around) . She had so Much fun and loved that she got a lollipop and watched strawberry short cake during the cut. And to top It off, they put glitter in her hair. We did a walk in around 10 am and Ericka was so accommodating. She let us know that it would be about a 20 minute wait. Which was fine because there were toys and books to occupy my daughter. We had a great experience here. Erica was able to get us in last minute on a Friday afternoon. When we got there my 2 year old changed her tune about not wanting a haircut when she saw the neat airplane shaped chairs and the tvs. She even has a video game console to help distract kids during the cut. This place is perfect for kids. Erica was able to give my daughter a cute bob, even tho she wouldn't stop moving. We were in and out in 20 minutes and she even put sparkles in my daughters hair. I was 10 minutes late for an appointment and had a negative interaction with the hairstylist. I live 45 minutes away And she was unwilling to to help me figure out a solution to the problem. Perfect place to take a two-to-three year old girl. The assistant was super friendly to my daughter, got her seated, asked her important questions (what's your favorite color, movie, etc.) and then turned on Frozen, blew bubbles, and showed her bottles of pixie dust while she combed out her hair. Then the stylist came over for the trim. She got down to business and the trim and bangs were complete without a fuss. We walked out with a candy, certificate and good haircut for $20 plus tip. Walked my little guy downtown for his first real haircut, apparently they don't open unless they have appointments, so even though the door and their website says they're open at 10am, they might not be unless someone booked an appointment, but then they'd be too busy to take a walk-in anyway. So, make an appointment or your business means nothing to these people. Don't worry, 3-year-olds are incredibly understanding and don't mind walking around for an hour downtown because someone didn't come in that day. -edit- I wrote the above in not a very good mood, so it is a little glib. Once we got in, the stylist was pleasant and efficient, and my little guy survived his first real haircut without a scratch. We'll probably give them another chance and I'll definitely write another review at that time. My original review was 1 star, new one would be 4, they got the job done nicely. read more

I started cutting my son's hair myself when he was about 6 month old. Now at 10 months it was time for a "real" haircut from a professional. We had a fantastic experience! My son got an adorable cut and we were in and out of the shop in 11 min. Any parent knows that's a dream when it comes to your little ones who can have good or bad days. It's no surprise this salon is busy due to their great reputation. I recommend you make an appointment. I took my daughter here about 9 months ago and have been meaning to write about my experience. Unfortunately it was not a good visit. I had purchased a deal through Living Social for a child's hair cut. I called and made an appointment several days in advance. We arrived on time. We waited 20-25 minutes while Summer worked on two other girls. Once it was our turn, she asked what kind of haircut we wanted. I showed her a picture and explained what my daughter wanted. Summer rudely informed us that the $20 was for a "trim" only (about 1 inch) and that any kind of style was $15 extra. My daughter had her heart set on a particular style. I had only brought enough money for parking and a tip so wasn't able to pay any more money. I let it be known that I didn't have additional money. We went back and forth about what to do - finally Summer decided that she would go ahead and cut more than an inch - even though she could get in trouble. The rest of the visit was awkward as my daughter was terrified to say anything. A stormy silence permeated the room. A movie or prize from the prize box was not offered during the visit. We left quickly and have never returned. I will say that the hair cut that my daughter received was one of the best she ever has gotten and I considered giving a higher rating because of it. It is too bad that we had to wait so long and that they tried to extort extra money for the haircut. In short, I do NOT recommend this place. Save your money and go to JC Penny's or the kids place in Petaluma! read more

They do a great job, but it is sometimes hard getting an appointment. They say they welcome walk-ins but seem to be always to busy to take you as a walk-in, so I recommend getting an appointment. Overall, they are very nice, the place is kept clean, and they do a good job on cuts. They have TV's for the kids to watch as they get their cuts, helping them to hold still. read more
