I don't know what they did but we picked up the clothes 10x dirtier than we dropped them off! We requested a few pairs of mens slacks and a women's silk duster to be dry cleaned but they not even cleaned at all, just pressed and wrapped in plastic and returned to us. When we got home and opened them, there was a sweaty grimy smell. It even left our walk in closet smelling bad...it still stinks after a day and half even after removing the clothes. The shop is closed Sunday so we have to wait to go back when we get a chance in the week and see if something can be done to resolve our issue. Don't go here if you want fresh clean clothes. We did get a refund after the owner smelled the clothes that were given to us. Apparantly thier cleaning machine was broken, but we were not told about this until we called to complain. I don't know if they were hoping we just didnt have time to come and request our money back or what. It came off disingenuous. read more

I have been washing clothes in their house for five years, and this is the worst experience I have ever had! I went to pick up my clothes for the second time today, but they never cleaned it. I asked to communicate with their boss, and this man always refused to give it to me. I said I knew my boss was traveling abroad, and I could talk to her next month. But he refused to give it to me. Price of laundering a shirt as of 12/15/2018 is $1.99. I think the owners have changed and the new owners are increasing the price every time I visit, which is like every 2 months. Also, the lady was checking all the buttons of the shirt and said that if the buttons are thicker, they need to be hand pressed, and those shirts are now $3.50 each! I have taken our shirts to clean here for at least the past 5 years, and I had never had that happened before! They are definitely price gouging here. I told them, I would like to take those hand pressed shirts back and wash them myself, and they said they have already charged my credit card and would only give me a store credit back! What??? So this review is more about the attitude of the manager there - She has a ton of attitude and just because they are good or have such good reviews of their work on Yelp and online, she is very cocky about it and gives a ton of attitude. There is nothing like good customer service about this place. If you agree to whatever they say and charge then its great but the moment you ask for something out of the usual, as small as "hey can i have just these 2 shirts out of the 20 that I have given you, earlier than the date you gave me" and the response you get is - "we will have to charge you extra for that" and I ask why so just for 2 shirts and the response is "we are so busy...see the line out of the door and that's because we are good at our work" and my response was OK but that doesn't mean that you be cocky about it! Basically this is more for convenience rather than the service that most folks in the area go here for. Up until recently I had great thoughts about these folks but after this past weekend's experience, i will think twice about going here for sure. They have recently stained my wife's white shirt on the sleeve cuffs and I am going to take it in today and see what they say. I am quite sure she will throw the blame on us and say something like "we haven't done anything or it hasn't happened here sweetie" but we will see. I will update my post after that. I really like the way my clothes feel when I get them back from Kiely Park Cleaners. I can tell they're clean and fresh. The prices are ok, and the staff is friendly. It's $4 for a minor alteration such as patching or sewing up a hole. I believe it's $4.50 to clean both pants and sweaters. The they don't get 5 stars is because the hours aren't too convenient as I work in Menlo Park and have a commute that often gets me back to the neighborhood after the Cleaners is closed. I believe they close at 6 or 6:30 during the week and then they're only open for about 4-6 hours on Saturday. It would be nice if they were open later and on Sundays. Some times I just can't get home from work in time to drop off or pick up my clothes. Also, I've paid less for dry cleaning elsewhere. I was the maid of honor in my best friend's "wild west" wedding last May and took my beautiful one-of-a-kind 19th century saloon madame dress to this place to have it cleaned and pressed, mainly because they are conveniently located near my home. I dropped off the dress one week in advance of the wedding to be sure it would be ready in time. When I went to pick the dress up on the Friday before the wedding, it was cleaned and pressed...AND had a huge triangular gash between two of the folds in the skirt. The thing was about 2.5" across and the edges of it were sharp, as if it had just happened. As I had carefully scrutinized the dress upon receiving it via UPS the day before dropping it off at the cleaner's, I knew the hole was brand new. I asked the woman at the desk what had happened, and she shrugged and acted surprised to see the tear. After five or ten minutes of explaining that I had JUST RECEIVED this dress from the seamstress and there was no way this huge tear was there when I dropped it off, she begrudgingly offered to fix it by the following Monday. As the wedding was the next day, I insisted she fix it that same day. The only reason this place gets one star instead of zero is because the woman I dealt with managed to fix the dress to *almost* like new condition the same day. She basically sewed up the tear, overlapped two of the folds in the dress and sewed them together, which made the skirt look a little less full but hid the tear sufficiently enough for the wedding. I DO NOT recommend taking your delicate or valuable clothes to this dry cleaning service. If you do, be sure you inspect them for damage before and after picking them up. read more

Cheap prices, terrible customer experience. If I could give less than 1 star I would. I went to Kiely Park Cleaners on a Tuesday with 1 pea coat, a suit, and a dress to be dry cleaned, two dress shirts to be washed and pressed, and 2 pairs of jeans to be hemmed. The total came to about $30 and the receipt said it would be ready for pick up Friday. Fast forward to the following Tuesday, a week after I dropped the clothes off and 4 days after they were supposed to be ready. I returned to Kiely Park Cleaners to pick everything up, but my pea coat was nowhere to be found. By the time this mistake was realized, I had already paid for everything. I waiting in store for 15 minutes while they searched the racks for my coat, no luck. I was told something along the lines of, it's here somewhere, come back tomorrow and will give it to you. I return the next day (Wednesday) and am told that they accidentally gave my coat to another customer, but not to worry, he's "cool" and he'll bring it back tomorrow, I can come in then and pick it up. It will be there tomorrow if they have to go get it themselves. Fine I get it, people are human and mistakes are made, no big deal. I return the next day (Thursday) and am told that they still don't have my jacket. I am told that I should have called first and not expected it to just be there (Imagine that, expecting your dry cleaning to actually be at the dry cleaners). When I complain about having to return 3 times thus far to pick up my cleaning I'm told I've actually only been there twice (not true) and that its my fault for not calling in advance. When I ask for a full refund of my bill, I'm instead offered $12(the cost of cleaning the coat) store credit (as if I'll ever bring clothes here again). I ask them to call me when the coat is actually in hand and leave. I get a call Friday morning informing me my coat is in, I use my lunch break to go pick it up, and they begrudgingly refund me $21 (The cleaning portion of the bill). I will never patronize this business again. read more

Update Aug 2012: Insurance is only as good as their ability to payout and IMO the difference between a decent and an outstanding dry cleaner is their willingness to deal with issues when they arise (for reference, a decent dry cleaner is one that cleans your clothing at a price you are willing to pay). Michelle @ Kiely Park proved this point to me recently. They had an automated pressing machine with an issue that cause some small holes to be poked into the right sleeve of ~5 of my shirts. I pointed out this issue and Michelle didn't give me any fuss. We agreed to a compensation that was acceptable to both of us (some of the shirts are old so I don't see it being fair to ask for their replacement price) and she even offered to sew up some of the damaged shirts (I'm sure they will be wearable again as the holes are small and if properly repaired not noticeable.) Despite the damaged shirts (these things happen), I'm definitely planning to continue using this business weekly. They've earned my business and for the price, I cannot complain. Rating Updated to 5 Stars. Original Review: I wear dress shirts & pants 5 days a week so I visit dry cleaners on a weekly basis. I don't really look for a boutique cleaner -- I just want a place that will wash/press my shirts, dry clean my pants, give them back (vs. losing them), and do it for a reasonable price. Basically, I have a religious adversion to paying more than $1-1.25 per shirt. Living in SF and working in SJC, I have plenty of choices of dry cleaners. My previous choice was a place in Chinatown (Rainbow Cleaners) but after moving to Glen Park, Chinatown was just too much of a detour to go to on a weekly basis. Kiely Park is close to the highway on the way to my office, charges something like 85c per shirt and a reasonable couple bucks (I believe $2 or $2.50) for my dry cleaned pants. I used this laundry for three years. During this time, more than once they returned my shirt with black dirt on the collar. The onsite staff would usually then clean it right away. A few times they had to re-do the shirt. Regardless, the overall quality was acceptable so I kept coming back. Recently, the owner instituted an upfront payment policy. Then they started charging a 25 cent charge for the plastic bag they use to return clothes (cleverly disguised as an "environmental charge"). My last experience was the worst. They ruined my $200 comforter! When I complained, their first excuse was "we have not ruined this other comforter so how could we ruin yours?". When they saw the fallacy in that argument, the manager (Adell) said "we followed the manufacturers instructions which said dry clean, so you get what you get". While admitting that they ruined it, they still did not compensate me for the price. I've had enough. Not going there again! If you have a semi-decent laundry, stick with it - DON'T GO HERE! read more

I had a very stubborn stain on my sport jacket from a melted energy chew that was at least 3 years old and about the size of two quarters. The folks here looked at the stain and were honest that they may not be able to get it out since it was quite embedded in the fabric and mesh pocket. A week later, I picked up jacket and I could not be more thrilled with the results. There is hardly a trace of the stain. Granted it's still there, but very light and not noticeable at all.
