Kiepersol is a beautiful winery, distillery, bed and breakfast, and restaurant tucked away in the piney woods of East Texas just south of Tyler. The food, service, and ambiance are all top notch from the moment you pull into their parking lot until the time you pay your check.

Amazing service, from alex up front to Riley as our server, the food was too good to stay uneaten on the table. Must try the chilean sea bass!

This is the information on the great wine class we took.

Anytime at Kiepersol is time well spent and money wisely invested. The food was amazing, the rooms are comfortable and the drinks delectable. The setting is romantic and the service above and beyond. Don't miss this gratifying experience.

Took a food and wine tasting class for Galentines Day and had a BLAST!! We learned quite a few interesting facts about the history of wines, how they're made, how to smell/taste the difference between them, and a lot of Kiepersol history, too. Our instructor was wonderful. The selection of wines were also explained as well as how they may pair to the food bites. She kept us engaged every step of the way and did an outstanding job with the class. Even in the cold of February there were still so many beautiful places to see and take great pictures. 10/10

Had a fantastic dinner here on a business trip to Jacksonville. Very nice upscale rustic atmosphere on beautiful property. We sampled a number of appetizers, I had a fillet, and key lime pie for dessert. Food and service were excellent quality, on par with any upscale restaurant back home. Good wine selection which I believe are all from the winery there. Overall a great dinner experience!

Went here with my husband for a birthday dinner. The service was so attentive and made you feel like you were the only ones in the room. Our server was fantastic. The ambiance was so classy and cozy feeling, did not want to leave. Food was impeccable!! We will definitely be returning for future date nights or special occasions. Also dessert is a must!

Key lime pie - very mild key lime flavor and not tart nor very sweet

We had a nice dinner with lamb chops and rib-eye, finishing dinner with cheesecake and key lime pie. Excellent service. Food is tasty and surprisingly the lamb has no lamb flavor. Key lime pie was also not tart not too sweet. All are very good.

The staff was very professional and knowledgeable. The tour was very interesting and held alot of good and neat information. I did not feel rushed during the tour and you could ask questions along the way. The tasting and pour your own bottle experience was definitely something I wont forget! I definitely would recommend this distillery for a fun date day! I cant wait to come back to do another tasting and tour.

(5 stars) A Hidden Whiskey Gem in the Texas Countryside…read more We had the pleasure of visiting 1845 Distilling in Lowry Crossing, Texas, and were warmly welcomed by Bob, the owner, and Miguel, the head distiller--an incredible father-in-law/son-in-law duo who are clearly passionate about their craft. Tucked away in the cooling shade of a pecan orchard, this distillery is a hidden gem just outside of Dallas that deserves a spot on every whiskey lover's map. If you're traveling the Lonestar Whiskey Trail, make sure 1845 is on your itinerary--you'll be glad you did. Bob's Southern hospitality made us feel right at home. He gave us a personal tour of their still house, bottling facility, and beautiful rickhouse, sharing their vision for future expansion along the way. You can feel the pride, purpose, and family spirit in every detail of the operation. After the tour, we settled into their cozy tasting room and recorded an episode of The Whiskey Trip--surrounded by great whiskey, good conversation, and genuine Texas charm. And then there's the whiskey. Their rye bourbon absolutely blew my mind. It had every note and nuance I look for--bold, balanced, and beautifully crafted. Maybe it's the influence of those pecan trees, their precision German stills, or Miguel's talent behind the spirit--whatever the magic is, I was hooked from the first sip. 1845 Distilling is more than worth the trip--it's a shining example of craftsmanship, family, and true Texas hospitality. We noticed several other families there with young kids, so this is definitely a kid-friendly spot. When we first arrived for dinner, the restaurant was pretty empty and we weren't sure what to expect but don't let that fool you, it's no reflection of the experience or quality. The drinks were amazing and the food did not disappoint. The shrimp and grits were incredibly flavorful, the loaded tots were absolutely delicious and my husband's salad was fresh and crisp. The housemade "croutons" aka seasoned crackers were good! do not skip those. We will absolutely be back!

We sat at the bar and grabbed a drink for happy hour and a burger as well. I went with the bourbon margarita which was frozen and unlike anything I've had before and it was delicious. My husband had the old fashioned which is always tasty. The happy hour smash burger price is unbeatable at $6 and it was enough for us to share as we only wanted a snack. They even cut it in half for us and put it on two plates which was so nice! The staff is always great! We will be back again soon!

There's also a good selection of cheesecakes which sounded interesting but we didn't try them. Staff was very friendly in giving recommendations and describing each wine. Tried a few recommended wines (each person can sample 2 for free) and they were just okay for me. Lots of fruity wines and some seasonal flavors like gingerbread which was interesting. I liked the lime with coconut the most, but didn't love any enough to buy a glass or bottle. We ended up getting the cheese board, which was $18 and came with crackers and a good selection of cheeses, meats, nuts and mustard dip. Adding some grapes would've been amazing!

First let me say that April is their peak time (because it's blue bonnet season and folks are out and about) so they charge a fee to park. We arrived near closing time yet they were kind enough to welcome us in and allow us to look around. We also decided to grab a glass of wine while we walked around looking. I will honestly say that I am NOT a wine snob, I couldn't tell ya a good glass from a bad glass but I don't like dry and I don't usually like reds. With that said I was given some suggestions and for what it's worth, I'd drink it again. We were offered to purchase some cheesecake but without seeing what I was getting and told $11, I passed on it. I will say that the souvenir "glass" that I paid for was disappointing, come to find out it's a plastic cup, however I was told it "floats in the pool" but I'll never know because I don't own a pool to sip and float in. So most the folks out in the yard were wine tasting and seemed to be enjoying what they had. I had one couple who actually went down the list letting me know what their favorites were and why (I took notes). This is a cute little spot off the beaten path. I must say that I'm thankful for a restroom but I'm never a fan of portable potty's and unfortunately this was the only option at the time. If I'm out this way again, I'll make a stop and try a wine flight to see if the other wines live up to the hype.
