A great place to watch a game! Stopped in to watch USA in the World Cup. This restaurant is very large with a lot of seating. And a great outdoor patio to boot!! The decor and vibe feels exactly like an Irish pub. Drink menu is solid and the menu is decent. Only wish they Magners cider. Haha. Service is good and they can handle large crowds! Parking is street or garage.

A welcome downtown main stay over the years. Service is always friendly. Great to hang with friends, coworkers, or catch a vibe solo. Awesome patio seating in warmer months. Decent menu - including their brunch offering which not as many people lean into. Definitely a great pick for a night out or quick bite / brew on the go.

Stopped by for a quick dinner before a MN Lynx game. Super hot and muggy weather on late Saturday afternoon. The place was hopping with diners and they had a private party in their second room. We were seated in a both near the open door to the patio but the AC was keeping up and we were comfortable. My wife and ai each ordered a cider. She had a traditional one and I had a passion fruit - guava on tap. Both cool and refreshing. We ordered a salad with chicken and the Reuben sandwich. My wife enjoyed the salad. It was generous in portion, fresh and tasty. The Reuben was hot and fresh. I should have asked for "heavy" sauerkraut as many places tend to go too light for me. This one was as well. The corned beef was extra tasty and gave the impression of being made in house. Fries were crispy and hot. Our server covered a lot of territory that afternoon, both inside and out and did so with calm and "cool" professionalism. We will go back in the future.

A group of us came in for dinner and overall enjoyed our time. I ordered the Corned Beef and Cabbage but honestly, found it way too salty. I'm thinking it was an off night but I probably wouldn't get the same dish again. It seemed pretty average.

The pot roast. Tender beyond belief.

My wife and I had an enjoyable early dinner here. Great "pub" feel and the food and beverages were superb. I had the pot roast ( despite my craving for shepherds pie which they did not offer) and she had a chicken pie. It filled us up nicely before we headed back to our hotel.

We stopped in at Kierans Pub for dinner. Hubs had the usual--a Reuben and fries. Daughter had the Reuben with a salad. I had bangers and mash. Food was delivered quickly and looked fresh and was hot. Both of them loved their Reuben. They said the sandwiches were very tasty and the caraway rye was interesting. Salad option was nice with the Reuben. It was a large salad with cucumbers and baby greens. My bangers and mash was a little disappointing for me. The potatoes were super whipped, not heavy, and I wondered if they were maybe not homemade. The bangers were reminiscent of Britannia Arms, which is a good thing, but they just weren't as good. Overall, I would definitely return to this pub and order different food! Maybe a Reuben. It sure looked good!

this is a very big traditional style, Irish pub in the heart of downtown. It is perfect for a pregame drink or bite if you're heading to Target center afterwards. we went exactly for this, and found that there were many people there doing the same thing. It was a nice ambience. this place was decorated joyously for Christmas. it has a large capacity for seating and we were sat right away. We had a raspberry sour and a winter ale both of which were very delicious. We also had the buffalo wings which were also very good and had a great flavor that was not too spicy. We then also had the good fortune to go there when Michelob ultra was running a pregame promotion and got some free T-shirts and koozies. definitely recommend going before a game to see if you happen upon any of these fun perks.

This is what you expect, a cross between a somewhat dark Irish pub and sports bar. It just gives a vibe of a little bit of a dirty, sticky floor bar. We went as a large group to watch the Copa finals and it had a lot of TVs. We asked if they could put the game on. It seemed a little bit of a challenge, but ultimately they figured out how to put it on and get audio, but on a Spanish station. My SIL was happy, but I couldn't follow. We could eat, drink and cheer so overall a win. The food was mediocre. We tried the wings, cheese curds, chicken pub pie, and kids chicken bites. My niece had a mushroom flatbread, which looked good. Service is friendly, but a little slow. They gave us like 2 menus and I walked to the stand to get kid menu. It's a little over-priced, at least for apps (e.g., $14 cheese curds or pub pretzels, $15 wings). They had a huge patio. I think if you stick to basics, get a Guinness (husband had 5) and a burger, you'll be fine here.

We went here before a Twins game and it is a great location for the baseball field and target center. It had a cool outdoor area that looked fun also! Our waitress was very nice and attentive, though I didn't catch her name. The chicken shots were AMAZING and the pretzel was also great. It was a little pricey, but I assume that's because of location and the proximity to everything. Wouldn't mind going back!

This is a staple downtown Minneapolis restaurant. Although it's a little dark and divey, I love their space (especially that amazing patio!) unless it's before a concert, basketball, or baseball game.... It gets extremely packed then. The service was relatively fast, but our server seemed a little shy and didn't engage much with us. For drinks, I always get the Skinny Ginger. It's light and refreshing! When it comes to food, I always get the pretzels and the Chicken Shots. Both are amazing, but be warned that the "VERY spicy mustard" that comes with the pretzels is, in fact, VERY spicy. I loved every bite of it. The one thing I got that I haven't before was the mac and cheese. I was a little disappointed because it was dry and lukewarm. The peppers in it gave it a nice flavor though.

It's nice. Apropos "Irish" décor inside. The bartender was pretty brusque with me, but I learned via overhearing her colleagues, it was her last day. Well, alright. Got a couple good pints of Guinness in me and then had to run for a train. It was mostly empty at 7:30PM on a Wednesday.

Kieran's is the go-to place before any event at Target Center! Great food and an awesome atmosphere!! Sit outside if you can. Overall pretty quick service but it does get pretty busy!

The interior has that classic vintage pub feel with lots of character and natural light. There are tons of booths and different seating areas that could accommodate parties of all sizes. I especially liked the glass dividers between some of the booths, which give you a little extra privacy without making the space feel closed off. My booth also had coat hooks and easy access to outlets, which I appreciated. I could definitely see myself coming here for a working lunch. My server was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially as I was trying to figure out how to use a couple of rewards I had on my account. I specifically came in wanting to try the fish and chips. Their lunch menu offers smaller portions of several dishes from the dinner menu, including a fish and chips option for around $15. I really wanted to try the walleye, though, so I ended up ordering the full dinner portion for around $28. The fish was absolutely the star of the plate. The breading was fantastic--crunchy around the edges while still light and fluffy--and the fish inside practically melted in my mouth. The tartar sauce was also really good and paired perfectly with it. The sides, unfortunately, didn't impress me nearly as much. There were plenty of fries, but they were pretty average, and the coleslaw was mostly cabbage with a light dressing. It felt like it was missing some acidity or lime to give it a little more personality. For almost $30, I also expected the meal to be a bit more substantial. I left satisfied, but found myself hungry again a couple of hours later, so I'm not sure the dinner portion felt worth the price for me. If you're mainly curious about their fish and chips, I'd probably recommend trying the smaller lunch portion first rather than committing to the more expensive dinner version. Would I come back? Absolutely--the atmosphere, service, and location alone make The Local worth another visit, and I noticed several other dishes on the menu I'd be interested in trying. I just don't know that I'd order this particular meal again. The fish itself was excellent, but for me, the sides and overall value didn't quite match it.

Huge bar top surrounded by TVs, lots of Irish decor, and cute booths that really lean into the theme. Unfortunately, things started off a little rough. The person I met there waited over 10 minutes at the host stand before anyone acknowledged them. Once we were seated, it also took a while before our server came by. That said, our server ended up being super friendly and attentive the rest of the visit. We ordered an Irish lemonade, a cold beer, and the Gaelic Whiskey Bites. They were exactly what you'd expect with an extra crunchy exterior, but the sauce was actually really good! Honestly made me wish I had tried a burger with that sauce instead, but we weren't hungry enough for more food. Overall, it's a decent neighborhood Irish bar, but nothing really stood out to me. I'd probably come back for the patio or on St. Patrick's Day!

The host originally seated us in a space that did not fit our party. Then he moved us to a center spot in a long, family-style table with people on either side of us. We had a five year old with us who was overly tired and very spunky and we had to try to keep her focused on us and not our neighboring patrons. Was really not the most appropriate seating for children but we didn't want to ask for yet another table. Soon after we sat down, we discovered that the parties on both sides of us were upset and looking for any employee so they could express their frustration. Seeing as we were all so close, we could hear them complain to others in their parties about the service. We learned shortly that we should have written up our losses early and moved on. We didn't. We ordered our beverages and immediately got water. The rest (2 soft drinks, an iced tea, and a milk) slowly trickled out one by one. The waiter apologized every single time he came to the table about how slow everything was from us being seated to getting our drinks to him coming to take our order. Once the food came out, he was apologizing again for how long that took. He wasn't wrong. As for the food, it was fine. Portions were average to smallish for the price. It wasn't as special as we had hoped it would be based on the descriptions. We each got something different and all said that we wouldn't order that item again. Not that it was bad. It just wasn't good. The best thing we had was the pretzel stick appetizer. That was pretty good but for the price, we wouldn't order it again. Nothing was super memorable except the decor which was super fun to look at. Oh and the very apologetic waiter. Our food came out hot. Turns out that was not true for the table to our left. The table to our right got the wrong food so half their group was done while the others were just starting. Apparently one of the cooks had called in. So, over all, I gave them an optimistic 3 stars. It was like a participation award with the assumption that if they were firing on all cylinders, it could have been much better. Personally, i wouldn't try them again but as the only Irish pub in the area, it could be a neat happy hour hang out. It just was not a family lunch spot.
