    Steak Salad
    Tim S.

Very good Irish bar that was across the street from my hotel. Nice menu with all the Irish classics, as well as salads, burgers and other items. Bar is large with plenty of places to sit. Table seating available as well. Lots of TVs to watch the game. Food was really good. I got the artichoke dip and the steak salad. Both were excellent. The beer selection is very respectable with some local beers on tap. The menu has an option for you to order beer for the kitchen staff if you think they did a good job. Only $6. I have never seen that before and thought it was very cool. Service was top notch. The bartender took very good care of me.

Pog Mahone's was a recommendation from an employee at the hotel I'm staying at in MN. They had all the sports games on the TVs which I appreciated. The service was great and so was the food. The Reuben Poppers are legit and the sauce takes them over the top. My entree was the Guinness Beef Stew, it didn't disappoint. It's essentially beef stew in a bread bowl. The best part about it, the bread didn't get overly soggy while I ate the stew. Needless to say, I'm full. Good thing I love running, going to need it tomorrow.

Castle Danger Cream Ale! So good!!!

TOASTING HAPPINESS We drove all the way from Chicago and we needed some dinner. I called over here to find out if the kitchen was still open for food. We found out we had about an hour to order. We rushed right over because we didn't want to be getting dinner from a gas station grocery store. Yes when traveling on the road for work these things can happen when restaurants close early in unfamiliar towns. We also decided to walk because walking on icy snowy sidewalks to a bar in the freezing cold is the safest thing to do. I'm feeling my decision making was influenced by the exhaustion of driving all the way from Chicago plus I didn't want to get back into a car again. The bartender here was really cool. I felt bad that the bar was empty but I'm sure Sunday's are like that around here. They had a great all day Happy Hour on Sunday with $2 off all tap beers. I decided to enjoy a delicious Castle Danger Cream Ale. I don't see many cream ales in America. When I would work in Canada this was my beer of choice. This was before America even started sprouting up local microbreweries. I was very excited to have this beer to enjoy plus we're not that far from Canada, so it's like old times for me again. We were up against the clock for dinner and drinks with the bar closing early. In fact, I think we heard last call which encouraged us to order another round of beer. That last call wasn't the last call because it got extended by an extra hour or two. Luckily a large groups of actors came in after their show and they started drinking up a storm. The bartender was smart to not close down the bar. I never understood bars that would kick out customers who are drinking when they can actually stay open. We were across at the other end from this large group and thanks to them we got our drinking time extended. I think we got 3 more rounds in after our first last call. Now that's something to toast about. The food was good. I wouldn't call it great. It was what I expect from Irish Pub food. I decided to go fish and chips because it just felt right. It was cold and snowy and it seemed like the perfect Irish bar food. The fish was nice and crispy. I wish the batter had a little more seasoning. The fries were delicious and I ordered them crispy and the cook nailed it. I can't stand soggy or under cooked fries. I also had a side salad because I needed to even out my dinner. The salad actually makes all of the fried food healthy. It's a road trip rule. We also had the coconut crusted chicken fingers to start with. Yeah it was a fried food kind of place which totally goes great with some nice ice cold beers. Our bartender was the best. He was on top of it and actually spent time talking to us. I'm are he was bored too with an empty bar. I'd defiantly come back here if I stayed in the area for work again. I'm always a sucker for a good happy hour and it's even better when it's all day event. That gives me something to smile about. Cheers!

The food is good. The beer list is modest. The service is ok. The decor does not suggest an Irish Pub at all. Maybe a sports pub. They also add 3.9% to your bill to cover benefits for their employees. It's ok, but I would not rush back.

Order we were charged for but no food.
    Miss B.

We ordered and paid for food online. Went to pick it up and management said the online order system should have been turned off. It was not. There was no food. They further offered to then make the food that would be ready in one hour. Very inconvenient and unacceptable way to do business.

We always stay across the street at Aloft so we usually stop by here at least once during our stay. I like the atmosphere, a good pub to chat in as there's no loud music and it seems to have a neighborhood feel. Decent beer selection with a few local crafts. Food is just ok. Sometimes it hits the spot and other times we are disappointed. The service here has always been quick and friendly and I think the prices are reasonable for the area. One Pet peeve: twice I have ordered burgers here and they have inexplicably added mayo even though it is not listed on the menu anywhere. Now when I order a burger I feel the need to stress "no mayo" and bring up my prior experiences. We shall return here for the atmosphere.

Measly cup of Sheppard's "pie" soup, no crust.
    Max's R.

We decided to order takeout because I was painting and wanted Sheppard's pie. The menu description sounded very reasonable and appetizing and I changed to the more expensive pie because of it. Cut to the actual food unveiling... See pic... There was no crust, for starters. I might have made a similar effort had I opened a $2 can of soup, the ones that have 3 pieces of overcooked carrots, two Lil chunks of potatoes and 3 dry cubes of boiled beef. The presentation was abysmal and more reminiscent of a public school cafeteria soup cardboard cup. That's all that I was given, ONE cup, this included mostly canned Gravy, the aforementioned facsimiles of veggies and half an ice cream scoop's worth of not terrible mashed potatoes. There weren't enough potatoes to offset the disappointment of seeing my $15 entrée be revealed as $2 worth of pretty high in sodium. Not sure why the Reuben poppers are called that. As they aren't like jalapeño poppers, but Reuben type stuff wrapped in dough and deep fat fried. This was more of a meal in terms of volume and presentation than the Sheppard's "pie". They should forego the salad dressing on the side, as it was obviously the cheapest quality dressing, the kind that comes in one gallon jugs. The Buffalo Mac and cheese was greasy, not creamy and had a coating of sauce, the chunks of chicken were salty and not too spicy. I wouldn't order any of these items again. When restaurants want to stay in business they must make an effort to offer value for money. I can think of better ways to spend $40... Can buy 2 big filet mignons and cook them at home with a nice side salad from Trader Joe's and a baked potato. for Pog's.

Huge bar top surrounded by TVs, lots of Irish decor, and cute booths that really lean into the theme. Unfortunately, things started off a little rough. The person I met there waited over 10 minutes at the host stand before anyone acknowledged them. I totally understand hosts may be on break or helping elsewhere, but with the restaurant nearly empty it was surprising that no bartender or server stepped in. Once we were seated, it also took a while before our server came by. That said, our server ended up being super friendly and attentive the rest of the visit. We ordered an Irish lemonade, a cold beer, and the Gaelic Whiskey Bites. They were exactly what you'd expect with an extra crunchy exterior, but the sauce was actually really good! Honestly made me wish I had tried a burger with that sauce instead, but we weren't hungry enough for more food. Overall, it's a decent neighborhood Irish bar, but nothing really stood out to me. I'd probably come back for the patio or on St. Patrick's Day!

I would definitely come back here and try their other foods, especially their chicken pot pie.

The host originally seated us in a space that did not fit our party. Then he moved us to a center spot in a long, family-style table with people on either side of us. We had a five year old with us who was overly tired and very spunky and we had to try to keep her focused on us and not our neighboring patrons. Was really not the most appropriate seating for children but we didn't want to ask for yet another table. Soon after we sat down, we discovered that the parties on both sides of us were upset and looking for any employee so they could express their frustration. Seeing as we were all so close, we could hear them complain to others in their parties about the service. We learned shortly that we should have written up our losses early and moved on. We didn't. We ordered our beverages and immediately got water. The rest (2 soft drinks, an iced tea, and a milk) slowly trickled out one by one. The waiter apologized every single time he came to the table about how slow everything was from us being seated to getting our drinks to him coming to take our order. Once the food came out, he was apologizing again for how long that took. He wasn't wrong. As for the food, it was fine. Portions were average to smallish for the price. It wasn't as special as we had hoped it would be based on the descriptions. We each got something different and all said that we wouldn't order that item again. Not that it was bad. It just wasn't good. The best thing we had was the pretzel stick appetizer. That was pretty good but for the price, we wouldn't order it again. Nothing was super memorable except the decor which was super fun to look at. Oh and the very apologetic waiter. Our food came out hot. Turns out that was not true for the table to our left. The table to our right got the wrong food so half their group was done while the others were just starting. Apparently one of the cooks had called in. So, over all, I gave them an optimistic 3 stars. It was like a participation award with the assumption that if they were firing on all cylinders, it could have been much better. Personally, i wouldn't try them again but as the only Irish pub in the area, it could be a neat happy hour hang out. It just was not a family lunch spot.

We were so late that we would have just had a drink had we known there was a time limit on the table BUT our waitress, Addison 8, did not mention this and took our meal order leisurely. Just after we were served she announced to the table that we all had to leave in 15 minutes. I said I assumed it did not apply to us as we had not even started to eat. she told us it applied to all of us. She told us if I was not happy about this I could speak to the Manager. I told her I would like to. then she said I could speak to her instead but I told her I wanted to speak to the Manager. No Manager ever materialized. I probably will never go to this restaurant again. I know times are tough and I don't object to time limits on tables BUT if a customer is very late the least a server should do is let them know there is a very limited time left for them to eat BEFORE they order $70 worth of food and drinks.
