77 days. That's how long Master Auto Center had my 2010 Camaro…read more I brought it in on April 23rd for an engine shutoff issue, AC problems, suspension, and steering concerns. I wanted to support local. I came back for a third time believing they'd deliver. Third time was not the charm. They told me the battery was too weak to even begin diagnosis, and quoted me a price that sent me straight to Costco for a much better deal. Once that was sorted, they diagnosed a P0601, a corrupted ECM, and recommended a repair-and-return service through a company called GOECM for $772. I did my research, pushed back, asked the right questions, and they assured me it was the right call. Weeks passed. The GOECM unit arrived. They installed it. The car wouldn't start, not because of the original problem, but because GOECM sent a blank, improperly cloned module that threw three new security lockdown codes: U0100, P0513, and P1613. My car was now more broken than when I dropped it off. In fact, it wouldn't even start. Now here's where it gets good. When I went in person to check on my car after two months, I found food wrappers, napkins, plastic utensils, and soy sauce packets inside my vehicle. Someone was fine dining in my car, truly having an exquisite time at my Camaro's expense. On top of that, for the entire duration my car sat there, the doors and windows were left open. When I showed up I found actual paw prints inside and outside of my car, because apparently whatever animal wanted to sleep in my Camaro for two months was welcome to do so. They tried a locksmith. Couldn't fix it. They tried GOECM again. Couldn't fix it. Eventually my car had to be towed to a dealership because nobody else could touch it. The dealer confirmed the GOECM unit was defective and that I needed a brand new OEM ECM at $1,838.85 just for that alone. The total bill climbed from $1,363 to $3,589. When I finally got the car back, it was returned with oil and grease on the interior, sticky surfaces, debris everywhere, and I kid you not, a piece of a plastic fork still sitting inside. The exterior had grime and oil still stuck to it from the shop. The AC blower motor they replaced, which is what controls airflow through your vents, now runs louder than it ever should coming off a fresh install. They also quietly slipped 1.5 hours of "special cut out labor" onto the final invoice that was never discussed or approved beforehand. And the steering? Stiffer than before I brought it in. Nobody mentioned it, nobody explained it. The suspension was never fixed either. Both were on the original concern list. I think they just wanted me and my car gone, so they waived those charges and called it a day. To be fair, the ECM works now and the AC was serviced. So it's not zero stars. But 77 days, a defective third party part, a tow to the dealer, a $2,200 price jump, animals living in my car, someone's soy sauce and fork left behind, and steering that's worse than before? That's a 1 star experience. These guys? Trust them to top off your fluids and swap an air filter. Anything beyond that, heed the other low reviews on here. Or don't. I'm not your dad.

It was frustrating and honestly upsetting because this is not the level of service I expected. I do want to recognize Scott, the service manager, for being understanding and showing empathy. He took the time to listen and tried to help, which I appreciated. I just hope this gets taken seriously and that steps are put in place so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

This review is for the Karmart service side of things. Karmart service does not answer the phone. You have to call them at least 6-10 times for them to pick up and this is a consistent issue over the years, and I learned why-- they have the phone ringer all the way down. I stood at the desk to turn in my keys and you can hear the faintest ring from the desk. There're all laughing and giggling talking about lunch in there so they can't hear it. Second I got a quote for over $1000 to replace TWO of my brake pads and rotors. They told me that it was dangerously low and I should leave it with them over night to fix it-- I said no because I felt like that price was outrageous. I proceeded to pick my car up and he tells me that he could offer me a discount of $200 and lower the price to $800 and some change. I still said no --I went right down the road to a mechanic and he quoted me $500 to change my TWO brake pads and rotors said he'd only need it for 1 hour -- vs karmart who told me they'd need it from open to close. $438 is what Karmart wanted for labor & $524 for "parts" the other mechanic said that that's a ridiculous price as my parts for my car costed him $300. Be warned that their parts department prices are outrageous and I will never use them now that my complementary services are done.

While the cars are used the jeep worked perfectly and the a/c worked which is exactly what you need. I also loved all the amenities that were provided in the car for us - towels, blanket, pillows, cooking gear, cooler, & toilet paper. Rudy was very communicative and provided us with info on where and how we could camp and provided and instructional video on how to set up the tent. Returning was very easy and they even dropped us off at the airport afterwards! We will be back to do this again.

Over the phone, he quoted me a price of $29 / day and $197 / week. The weekly rate seemed the same as the daily rate, but we went there anyway. Should have seen a red flag. Since I didn't know how long my car would be in the shop, I started with the full week, with the understanding that we might bring the rental back early when our car was fixed. Ok. He charged over $233 to my credit card. $36 over his "weekly" rate. I thought it might be for taxes and such, but I couldn't reconcile it with the rental agreement, since it wasn't filled out. I figured we would sort it out when the car was returned. That was on Monday, after 4 pm. Oh, and the car had less than a quarter tank of gas. Rudy told me to return it a fourth full. How do you fill up a car to a quarter tank?? I thought it best not to argue with Rudy, since he did not seem like a pleasant person. Our car was repaired and I returned the rental after using it for 3 days. It was Thursday, before 4 pm. Cars For Less Maui was closed and locked up. Finally, a mechanic arrived and opened the door. He said Rudy was at the airport and I needed to wait. Rudy finally showed up and started working his calculator, to figure my refund. He told me that he was waiving the $60 cancellation fee, like he was doing me a favor. It seemed odd, since there was no mention of a cancellation fee when I rented the car and nothing on the rental agreement about it. Great, he did me a favor by not charging me something that he had no right to charge me. But, the total still seemed high. He said he was charging me for 4 days. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Hold on there, Rudy. I picked up the car on Monday. If I returned it on Tuesday, it would be a one day rental. If I returned it on Wednesday, it would be a two day rental. Since I returned it on Thursday, it was a three day rental. So, three days times $29 should be $87. Rudy said that was wrong because I picked the car up Monday morning. No, it was after 4 pm. Rudy said he would charge me for 3 days, but with the $60 cancellation fee. He gave me that choice, or I could pay for 4 days. I paid for 4 days, because he was acting like a tough guy. By the way, I also returned the car with a half tank of gas. Gas is expensive on Maui. Did that do me any good. Nope. One other thing. I never received an itemized receipt or completed rental contract. It doesn't seem like Rudy charges taxes or county fees for renting cars. Not my problem, though. I'll let Maui county work that out with him. I wish I had checked the reviews before doing business with Rudy, but I hope you don't make my mistake.
