Kike's Red Tacos changed my life. Before this place, I was a normal person. After my first queso taco dipped into that rich, glorious consomé, I became someone who casually considers flying to Denver "for lunch." I started going when they were still operating out of their food truck, and honestly, watching them grow into a permanent restaurant feels like seeing your favorite underground band finally make it big... except instead of music, they're dropping cheesy taco masterpieces. The queso tacos are absolutely ridiculous in the best possible way: crispy, cheesy, messy, and worth ruining at least one shirt over. And the consome? That stuff could heal emotional damage. It's rich, comforting, and somehow makes you immediately want "just one more taco" even when you're already full. Every time I'm in Denver, this place is mandatory. Not optional. Not "if there's time." Mandatory. My vacation itinerary basically starts with flights and ends with tacos. So happy to see Kike's getting the recognition they deserve. This spot certainly lives up to the hype! It was really crowded but we were able to find a table before our food came out. The margarita and spiked horchata were so good. While at the bar many people were talking about how well made and flavorful their cocktails were! The queso was delicious and the perfect consistency. These tacos are so good - so much flavor with the consome and that perfect little crunch on the taco. Got a marg trio with hibiscus, peach and mango - peach was easily the front runner! I'm usually a guacamole girl but the queso and salsa on the dip trio were def better than the guacamole. My husband got the burrito and it was MASSIVE. Kike's was pretty good. It's counter serice and its about the same price as Chipotle and about a million times better. The service was quick and the food was delicious. It also had a nice bar area with tv's to watch the Nuggets game. I had the Birria, Asada, and Carnitas taco. The shells for the taco were the perfect level of crispy. My only complaint is I like birria tacos with cheese on them. The salsa bar was a nice touch and my favorite salsa was the pineapple salsa. A good local taco spot in LoHi. I had 3 tacos, I tried the chicken and beef tacos, and the queso taco with chicken. I thought they were ok, the meat was on the drier side. Flavor was good and taco size was decent. I thought the queso taco was much better than the others, and would definitely get that when I come back. I didn't think the inside was super clean, but it was also packed when I went (1:30pm on a Saturday) and every table was full and people were waiting for seats. Great vibe and cool place to have lunch or drinks and bites! We went for the classic trio: al pastor tacos , carne asada burrito, and birria tacos, and they delivered. The al pastor was juicy and well-marinated. Tortillas were soft and warm. Carne asada burrito was tender and nicely grilled with good smoky flavor with a nice spicy kick. The birria with spiced consomé with tender, fall-apart beef that shredded beautifully. Dipping the taco in the consomé took it to another level. Corn tortillas were dipped/fried just right so they didn't fall apart mid-bite. My only critique: the consomé could have been a hair spicier or more intensely seasoned. Overall, fresh ingredients, generous portions, and the sides of salsa and lime were fresh too. Definitely worth the stop, and I'll be back to try more. read more

Tacos were crunchy, and the sauces provided were super fresh. The spice level has a nice kick and you can clearly taste the smokiness to the roasted red salsa. We tried the birria, the asada, and the carnitas tacos, which all came in the same standard crispy shell and with onions and cilantro, street taco style. The meat was well seasoned but all tasted similar- you can't go wrong and the proteins all cost the same. We also tried the birria ramen, which was great. My favorite part of the meal, hands down. I was sad the birria taco didn't have the melted cheese outer shell, and you have to order the consume separately. There is a salsa bar, which had some great options but I preferred the pineapple salsa. It's a counter service restaurant, which was a little confusing at first, but everyone was friendly and quick. The interior is nice and modern with some fun touches, including a window with bottles of Jarritos that the sun shines through in the afternoon. Went here with my husband and toddler and everyone enjoyed! We got their cali burrito with birria and their quesadillas with birria con chive (goat). You order at the counter and then sit down and they bring the food to you. It was busy but we got a seat within a few minutes. They have high chairs but only 2 which were in use so they could probably do with a few more. I enjoyed their self serve salsa bar which had 6 different salsa, roasted jalapeños, cucumbers and radishes. The food at Kikes Red Tacos is outstanding and we are regulars and have been eating at this place for quite a while. It is a busy restaurant and one needs to be patient and not in a hurry sometimes we wait 20-30 minutes to get the food since they have a huge amount of pick up orders and patrons coming in to eat. Been here a couple times and ended up with the birria combo with broth each time. The food was great and lasted two meals each time. I wanted to eat there but there's not enough tables, even with a bar area and outside seating. It's not quite clear when you're supposed to get a table so I think it's just when you see one open up. It's walk in and order at the counter and has ben a line almost the door each time. That's well and fine but hen I finally got up to the counter this last time around they said it was going to be 35 mins even for a to go order. Craving tacos so stopped by to try this place out and it was overall a good experience. They have a couple salsa bars, aguas frescas (horchata, piña, and jamaica). I tried the horchata and the jamaica; Both were delicious! The part I didn't like so much was it took awhile to get our food and it was packed! Kike's Tacos is an absolute gem! The combo options are fantastic and offer great value for your money. I love how affordable it is, but you definitely get your money's worth in terms of taste and quality. One thing I'd love to see is the ability to choose more than 2 proteins for the combo, but that's a small thing compared to how much I enjoy the food. Speaking of which, this place is super photo-worthy -- the tacos are as beautiful as they are delicious. Seriously, the flavors are on point! The consommé is a standout for me--so rich and flavorful, I could sip on it all day. Taco'bout good tacos!! I was visiting friends in Denver and they brought me here cause they say it's some of the best tacos around. I got the quesobirria and they were excellent. They have a salsa bar full of salsa options as well as other extras like radishes or jalapenos. Heard that this was the favorite taco spot of an acquaintance so we went and tried it out! My advice would be to stick with the regular birria taco for taste, but if you're feeling adventurous, try the goat birria! The collective opinion at my table was that we'd prefer the regular birria but were glad that we tried it! Birria ramen was yummy. The leftovers of this was decently thick. Loveddddd the waffle fries for my street fries! My order came with both steak fries and waffle fries. This was the first time that I had seen waffle fries used as the base and I loved it! They were more seasoned and crispy than the regular steak fries and the pairing with guac, steak, pico (that I added from the bar) was delicious. The churros tasted okay - the Nutella side was awesome, but the churros themselves weren't particularly crispy or hot. It was a nice dessert to end the meal. I've wanted to try this place forever but live about 30 mins away. It was absolutely delicious. The parking is a bit tight and the spots in front are 15 mins only so I got it to go. I loved the queso tacos (got Al pastor and Birria). The Al pastor was my favorite. The salsa bar is amazing -- really liked the bright green one and bright red. The red definitely had a kick!! Stopped by Kike's Red Tacos and everything we ordered was delicious. We got the Street Fries and wow... they were loaded, flavorful, and honestly some of the best I've had. The carne was well-seasoned, the cheese and crema were perfect, and the guacamole tied everything together. I also had a taco de asada and it was super tender with great flavor. The red tortilla adds a nice touch and makes it stand out. The Cali Burrito de Res was huge, packed with meat, papas, cheese, and crema -- every bite was amazing and very filling. The hubs and I have been wanting to try Kikes Red Tacos for far too long and only just last weekend made it happen. Why we waited so long is beyond us because we've been unnecessarily missing out on delicious food. We met up with a friend and got Birria tacos - both goat and beef and Birria ramen. Kike's Red Tacos were good, but to me they are too expensive for what you get. Between 4 of us we got 12 tacos and 4 agua frescas. That's it. It cost us over $100. No extras like chips & salsa or beans & rice were included. I liked my tacos but they just weren't worth it. Not were the agua frescas anything special. They were too sweet and cost too much. I got Kiké's for carry out for the first time and overall it was pretty stellar. I tried the dip trio and the asada and chicken tacos with side of consume. Flavors were all spot on, the dips were all excellent. My only complaint is about pick up timing. It told me 20-25 minutes and I decided I would get there right at 20 minutes. Well my order was ready 10 minutes early so unfortunately it sat until I was there and the tacos were kinda cold and the shells had hardened up. I imagine it's amazing fresh/ eating it there but hopefully they can manage the wait times a little better. I understand you take a risk on carry out and it being fresh but the restaurant has to do their part in helping with timing as well. Unfortunately, they do not have many pescatarian/vegetarian options (the only protein option is nopal/cactus) so it did not hit the spot as I hoped. Finally went here after hearing about all the hype with this place! Went on Wednesday at 6 PM and it was already packed, busy, There is a decent amount of seating, but it's not necessarily huge or anything like that. There are constantly people cleaning up throughout the place, making sure to open up available seats. You go up to the counter, order, and they give you a number. You sit down, and they come out with the food in about 15 minutes or so. The tortillas of the tacos are all dipped in consome and you have the option of adding cheese to them as well. I was anticipating traditional street tacos with the double small tortillas and the protein with onions and cilantro. The tacos here are more expensive and that's because there's a bit more to them, including being loaded with protein. The tacos were pretty good, but not the best I've ever had. My favorite part and the reason for the 4 stars is because of the agua fresca!! The cups are refillable so I was able to try pineapple and the horchata-both SO yummy. I would come here again just to try the two other flavors. If you're looking for more than your traditional street tacos but not yt people tacos (lol) this is a good place to check out. read more
