80's vibe. Clean and bright and ohhhh so yummy! Fresh! Service with heart. I had the Villa Dilla. Chicken cheese, bacon bits. I should have tried the Frito pie. It looked so good. Nachos will be on the next trip. You must order the fresh squeezed lemonade!!

This a hidden little gem in the Lakeside area. Such a a quaint little spot with a great atmosphere. The 80s vibe and music is so nostalgic and the art on the wall solidifies that 80s feel. The snake plants were my favorite decor because they were so plentiful and strong. I was pleasantly greeted upon walking in. I let them know things my first time visiting and they gave a run down of the menu and even shared what they liked most. The service was fast and the staff were so attentive and pleasant. I chose the Winna Winna Chicken Dilla and a limeade. The quesadilla was absolutely delicious. Had the right amount of seasoning and the jalapeño set it off with a little heat. The limeade was tasty just enough lime and sugar. I loved every minute of my visit and can't wait to return with my husband.

I stumbled upon this place on a whim when I was craving a quesadilla and this placed popped up. When I tell you how happy I was to find it, I couldn't get home fast enough to open the box. First off, the dining area is super cute and inviting. They have all this great 80s memorabillia and these big beautiful plants. It just made me want to sit down and stay awhile. My daughter and I were chatting it up with the owners, and they were so friendly and fun to talk to. Now... The best part.. the 'Dillas. They all have cute names and I was happy to hear they had vegan options or could make some vegan with swapping ingredients. We both got the winna winna chicken dilla. I just like saying that lol. It was delicious. Another plus, the owner mentioned they reuse grocery bags for sustainability and I loved hearing that. I even offered to bring some bags from home to donate next time I come. Oh yes, I will be going back for sure. I also have to mention the freshly squeezed limeade & lemonade was delicious too. The one and only thing that's missing is a side like Spanish rice or fries. That would compliment it perfectly. Great food- excellent customer service.

Winna, Winna, Chicken...Dilla!? That's what I said when I first stepped into the neighborhood restaurant called, Killa Dillas. Tucked away in Lakeside, VA, they're a few doors down from Final Gravity Brewing Company. As soon as we entered, we could see people casually waiting for their food, or already enjoying it quietly. Some upbeat music from the 1980s came through over the speakers, and the overall feel was welcoming and cozy. The music matched the theme of the decor - all from the 80s, a true Gen X paradise. When the patron in front of us was finished, the owner greeted us warmly with menus at the counter. He waved to the menu behind him gently, showing off his cheese-filled creations, each one more interesting than the last. My husband decided on the Smokey the Dilla, while I went with their most popular quesadilla, Winna Winna Chicken Dilla. As soon as we ordered, we noticed that the other owner was knee deep in preparing quesadillas, each to order. After what felt like a shorter wait, our meals were ready, and were served to us. Our eyes feasted on these freshly made quesadillas! Winna WInna Chicken Dilla features juicy white meat chicken, pickled jalapenos, queso blanco, and caramelized onions. Pico de gallo and sour cream (two condiments I love on my quesadilla!) came on the side. This plate was colorful! The perfect touch was the steakhouse seasoning on top of the quesadilla - it was magical flavor dust. The salt and species played off the creamy queso blanco for a taste explosion! Smokey the Dilla, named after our forest's protector, is stuffed with flavorful pork carnitas, cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, and caramelized onions. Mesquite seasoning sets off the flavors of the pork beautifully, and it's accompanied by a side of robust smoky hickory sauce. Now, both quesadillas delivered heartily on their promise of a crispy, crunchy tortilla shell, with ooey gooey cheese - a truly tempting delight! As we were enjoying our quesadillas, we noticed the owner running an order from the front door to the brewing company down the street - Final Gravity. What a fantastic idea! We'll be sure to take advantage of this partnership soon. We definitely missed out on the freshly squeezed lemonade, as we discovered on the way out. The owner made excellent recommendations to return for that lemonade, and its cousin, the freshly squeezed limeade - perfect for the nachos and quesadillas they proudly serve! UPDATE: We did it. We went back for more, and we were so pleased. My husband and I have returned a few times now. Each and every time, we are greeted like old friends by the staff. It's great how they want to tell us how the business is going, and how people are enjoying the food and kid-friendly environment. We tried the famous fresh-squeezed limeade and lemonade, and they truly lived up to their names. These drinks were hand crafted to order, with a pump of this and a spritz of that (I'll never tell you their secret recipe). These were vibrant, flavorful, citrus-forward sweet drinks. They were such a great addition to our meal. We also tried the chips and queso, which really hit the spot. The chips are delicate, and not greasy at all. The queso, oh, the ooey-gooey queso was a cheesy dream with a spicy attitude. All these ingredients are so fresh, and you can see that they run out of chips all the time. My husband has tried the Cha-Cha Dilla, which is a honey-mustard Cuban sandwich-inspired quesadilla. He ate every bite before I could try any! They do offer monthly specials, so be sure to check out their Facebook page for more. We can't wait to go back again. We love the comfort food, we love the fresh flavors, and we especially love the company. Edited for a typo

I absolutely love this place! It's especially convenient being right next to Final Gravity, and they offer delivery. The food is delicious, reasonably priced, and served in generous portions. The staff and owners are friendly as well.

Came here with my husband and daughter for early dinner on a Saturday and loved it. The outside area is just a couple chairs and tables but they let us pull them together to have enough room. When our order was ready the brought it all out to us and warned it was just off the grill, hot. We each got a dilla and shared some nachos. We were quickly full and brought the rest home.

What a pleasant surprise! When I noticed this restaurant was opening I thought it would be tough staying in business serving basically one food item. There are other options along with the various different quesadillas variations. There's chili, nachos, beans and picos as well. I don't believe a lot of their menu is made from scratch but based on the article from the Richmond Times the picos (tomato, corn and pineapple) are made fresh daily. The restaurant is fresh and clean, the owners and staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. The food we sampled was very tasty and creative. They also have a lot of different hot sauces to choose from. It might be beneficial to expand the menu to include salads and soups which are simple to prepare and to provide more food options. There's one restroom which was very clean and updated. This is a nice location centered between Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, Final Gravity brewery and the Lakeside Farmers market with plenty of parking. They don't have a big online presence except for a Facebook page with limited posts.

This place popped up in my search after a visit to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. It's just minutes away in a little shopping center in Lakeside. The husband and wife team make your food to order which was perfect so I could cut back on the cheese and get the pickled jalapeños on the side. We also got the pico platter which was the highlight of the meal. That pineapple salsa rocked! My friend loved the Mexican hot chocolate and I enjoyed the fresh squeezed lemonade which wasn't overly sweet. This was a nice little find.

We've driven by multiple times and finally made a point to stop in. The space is bright and cheerful and we were greeted as soon as we walked in. We ordered at the counter and then they brought the food to our table when it was ready. Everyone was super friendly. Pretty quick order turn around. We ordered the Jamaica me a dilla and queso & chips The dilla came with a side of sour cream and pineapple salsa. Good serving size of chips and queso Dillas are made fresh to order at the front counter. They make their own picos (tomato, corn and pineapple) daily. I'm not sure if the queso is home made or not, it tasted kind of bland. The menu is kind of limited in just quesadillas, nachos and chilli so even though it it was tasty. I don't know how often we'll visit. They are located between lakeside farmers market and Final Gravity +1 Service +1/2 Food~Taste/flavor/quality +1/2 Presentation +1 Atmosphere/vibe +1. Value

The owner of this place provides great service in a place that has the potential to go full Peach Pit if he chose (yes a 90s reference for an 80s themed place, but close enough). Killa Dillas fits right into the Lakeside neighborhood vibe. I'm judging based on one visit and one quesadilla - the jerk chicken one. It was simply delicious with a bit of a jerk kick but not too much. The side of freshly made pineapple salsa/slaw which had its on kick (Scotch Bonnet?) put it over the top. Super clean, easy parking, and silly 80s posters in the wall.

So this phenomenal new little place popped up and today I was able to give it a shot. I did manage to take some photos today of the food. Let me just say you have got to try this place out! I ate there for lunch today and I may end up going back tomorrow, that's how good it is! The menu is kind of small which is perfect because sometimes too many choices are difficult. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very clean and brightly painted. It's got a cool atmosphere and cool art that decorates the walls. Now what do they serve for food. You guessed it quesadillas are the menu however they also serve nachos. These are not your typical quesadillas or nachos. The nachos are a pretty large portion size. The quesadillas are very unique. I had the Hava Nagila Dilla quesadilla. It was excellent and very flavorful. The food was hot and tasted very fresh. I was there with two other coworkers and one is extremely picky, he absolutely loved the place! I honestly will be eating here a lot in the future I can see. I love that it's a little mom and pop style restaurant. These are my favorite places to support and with the quality of the food you won't be disappointed. Just take a look at the pictures of the food.

Tatanka dilla! 10/10. Cheesy, spicy, crispy. I'm a big ranch girl, but it's so perfect on its own.

Awesome spot in the Lakeside strip right by the farmers market. The tatanka dilla was perfectly cooked and spiced. Cheesy and crispy. But more than the food, the two nicest guys behind the counter talk to you like they've known you forever. Amazing food but even better service and staff. I'll be returning!

Stopped into Killa Dillas on a whim and was very pleasantly surprised. Every item on the menu is under $12. The two of us got lunch for $30 together. It's hard to find value these days but these folks certainly delivered. Food arrived to the table quickly and the service was friendly. The food itself was fresh and tasty. If you're at the brewery next door they'll bring you your food as well.

    Tatanka Dilla to go.

I ordered the rockfish without the bun, while my dad had it with the bun, and both were great. The beet salad was fresh and flavorful, and the fries were solid. The mac & cheese, unfortunately, was not good at all. On the plus side, the hot cider was delicious. Desserts were a bit of a mixed thoughts. The bread pudding was definitely the best one we tried and really enjoyable. However, the chocolate peanut butter pie was a big disappointment. It was extremely hard and cold (not pie texture), the peanut butter wasn't creamy at all, and it honestly tasted more like a protein bar loaded with sugar. The crust also tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for a while--disappointing. Overall, we still enjoyed our visit and many of the dishes were great, but the dessert experience could definitely be improved.

The menu has so many tempting options that it was hard to choose, but we both landed on the Hot Chicken Sandwich with cayenne butter--and we're glad we did. It had the perfect amount of heat: enough to bring some spice without overpowering the flavor. On the side, I ordered the green beans after our bartender/server highly recommended them. Normally, green beans wouldn't be my first choice, but they were seasoned perfectly and ended up being one of the biggest surprises of the meal. My partner chose the mac and cheese, which was the superior side (although both were excellent). The service was friendly, attentive, and genuine throughout the evening. Despite arriving on a Friday night without a reservation, we had no trouble getting a table. They only accept reservations for parties of 5-8, so I'm glad we decided to take our chances. One of my favorite parts of the evening was chatting with another guest at the bar. He and his wife shared several entrées with their young son, and they couldn't stop raving about the short ribs--which their son happily claimed for himself by the end of the meal! They also highly recommended the salmon, so we've already got ideas for our next visit. The only real downside has nothing to do with the restaurant itself: parking in Scott's Addition can be a challenge. We've eaten at Dots before so I decided to switch things up from my usual and have the Chicken MacArthur for $19.00 (Sautéed Chicken, Artichokes, Onions, Garlic, Tomatoes, Feta and a White Wine Sauce over Spaghetti). While it was good the spaghetti was undercooked and lacked artichokes!! Have to say in was unremarkable! Don't get me wrong we love Dots so we'll definitely be back!!

We were seated in the Lounge area near the entrance and it was pretty nice. My MIL loved the cow painting that was hanging. There is a lot of animal art where we were seated. The service is great here. We were checked in on a lot, but not in an overbearing way. This is located in Libbie Mill, so there is a lot of free street parking and parking lot spaces. They had women and men's restrooms. This is a sister restaurant to Julep's in downtown. I have been wanting to try this spot for a long time now and am happy we finally did. They are very creative with their dishes here and I think sometimes it makes a big bang and other times it falls a little flat. My MIL and I both got the springria. She got the red and I got the white. The red was the better of the two. We started with a caesar salad and the lamb empanadas for the table. The salad was fine, it had too much going on for me. We all loved the lamb empanadas (our waitress even said they were her favorite). We all loved the butter and bread choices that we started the meal with. I really liked the cornbread. For mains, my fiance and I shared the sirloin special. My MIL got the soft shell crab. My mom got the branzino. I love that they split the sirloin for us, it was so kind and perfectly portioned for us. It was a tasty special. The branzino was a great cut of fish, however, the sauce combinations made it a bit confusing, so we weren't the biggest fan of the flavor. My MIL adored her soft shell crab. We all had a wonderful time here!
