The food here was good overall. I like that they offer rotating specials if you check their website. The daily lunch margarita option was a nice touch as well, although it tasted a bit lighter on the alcohol side. One thing I really appreciated was the patio seating. There's plenty of space outside, which makes it a great spot to enjoy the weather. Service was attentive. My main criticism would be the pricing. I order too many times a week via Door Dash for Ay Mama and the food is always the best!.. I decided to go there after work for a change.. Karla provided excellent service. The food was just as great..AND the price is the SAME for DD vs in person at the restaurant. No jacked up prices for ordering thru DD.. I always get Elote Loco, the cobs are good sized and SWEET! I also get Chorizo dip.. Dip was same size as I would get on DD.. i loved the Mexican music that was playing, makes u wanna move to the beat.. i only paid attention to one of the Tvs that had futbol on, don't know how many others there were.. Came here on a Saturday night and ordered Burrito Rico ($16). They gave complimentary chips and salsa. I asked and they actually did have white sauce here. One of my favorite sauces ever since I moved down to VA. Rice and refried beans were good. The burrito was quite large and had some cheese sauce on top. Had nice pre-winter dinner on the patio last night. Staff is always warm and welcoming. The El CuCuy Burrito is my all-time favorite and unlike many Mexican restaurants, the strips of steak and chicken are always cooked to perfection and never dry. We really love this place. I always have them add fresh jalapenos on top for a little extra kick. We always take half home for a full second meal this is so large and filling. read more

Ay Mama is a tasty newish addition to the Innsbrook area. They're located in the same center as Christmas Tree Shops on Broad. Service was pleasant and prompt. The spinach dip was super good, just great flavor all around. My hard taco was a nice complement to my entree choice of the carne asada quesadilla. It came with rice and beans. I didn't try the beans but the rice was good. Prices are reasonable. Don't sit near the door in cold weather when you can avoid it. I'd recommend this spot for some tasty Mexican in the west end. read more

Three of us met up here for dinner on a weeknight They have a pretty good happy hour deal on beer and margaritas. There is plenty of parking as it is in a strip mall type of area right off Broad. Overall, this experience was ok. The food was decent and the service was ok. I had a California burito and it was not as full as ones that I have had at others. My wife got the quesadilla and was not a huge fan. It is worth trying as everyone has different likes/opinions on Mexican food. The staff were very nice as well. read more

My daughter and I were in the mood for something different and found this place on Google near me. It was our first First time eating from here, and they were pretty good. Not the best or the worst I've had. I chose them literally because they were righ around the corner from my house and I figured I would give them a try. I ordered Arroz con Pollo Cameron for my daughter. it was chicken and grilled shrimp on Spanish rice. she loved it. I tried a quesadilla tellers. it was good, but it was just okay. I asked for rice and beans, but they gave me spanish rice with refried beans. I just ate it, it wasn't worth going back for. Our family's new go-to local Mexican spot! They have a large menu of options- and a delicious drink menu. I opted for the House Lime Margarita- so good! I was impressed with their vegan options- I ordered the dinner vegetable combination with no cheese or sour cream. Also pictured, my sister's favorite Chorizo Dip, and my mother's favorite the Taco Salad. My family goes here pretty often, and I can't wait to go back next time I'm in town! Beware- be very beware. This restaurant refuses to honor its specials and happy hour prices, but won't inform you until the check comes. I was overcharged for beer on Friday night and asked to have the check adjusted for the happy hour special. The waitress told me that "happy hour is only on weekdays". I replied that Friday is a weekday. I asked for the manager and he straight up lied to my face, telling me that happy hour is "only Monday- Thursday". See my photo below,they've been sending these for months. These people are dishonest and have no business dealing with the public. If this is how they handle the front of the house, I can't imagine what goes on in the kitchen. There's probably 50 Mexican restaurants with 5 miles. This is the second time I've ordered via phone for pickup, didn't get a total, and got to the register and been shocked at the price. The first time was on me, I didn't ask or look on the website. This time I DID look on the website. $9.95 for a veggie taco salad. Cool. I order, they tell me ten minutes. I get there right at ten minutes, food is ready, staff is polite and friendly. Total is $13.68 before tip. I paid and added tip because I wanted the salad, but then was curious and asked how much it was. Almost $3 more than stated on their website. I state that the website is very wrong and was told "yes, all the prices are wrong". I just said okay and left. Taco salad was good, made without peppers and onions like I requested. New Mexican restaurant, I saw some good reviews and a nice crowd when I rode past so I figured why not! My brother, niece, daughter and myself on a Monday evening dinner date. Super sweet waitstaff provided complimentary chips with red and white salsa both good overall, the fresh chips are always a plus! We had three orders of Arroz con Pollo y Camarón, chicken and shrimp over rice with a cheese sauce ($15.95) and my daughter ordered the burrito bowl with steak ($12.95). We all agreed that the chicken and shrimp was lacking and was quite disappointed that the dish was not served with refried beans and guacamole salad like some other favorite spots. The dish also didn't have onions or peppers which could have intensified the taste. My daughter was most pleased with her bowl as she mentioned the ingredients were fresh and steak was tender and had a good seasoning. They're relatively new also so we may make a return trip. I hadn't even gotten my button into the chair before the chips and salsa arrived. Not 2 minutes passed before my Jalapeño margarita was brought to me. Such a cute clean place! We stopped for an early dinner and we were not disappointed. Our waiter was very attentive. He immediately started us off with their warm tortilla chips and excellent salsa. We made it for happy hour so we had $5 house margaritas and they we delicious. I had a taco salad with chicken and it was overflowing with so much chicken and seasoned well. My husband had the chimichangas and preferred the steak over the chicken but thought both were good. My daughter had the steak fajita burrito and raved how well the steak tasted. I've been here too many times in the small amount of time they've been open. Always great service and great food. I usually opt for something different every time until I find something I can't live without. So far, everything has been equally as good as the previous one I had. I recommend the carne asada, Yucatán Camarones, and/or the chicken wings during happy hour. Good drink list as well. Bahama Mama was amazing and beautiful. Also, if you have a sweet tooth, the churros beat any theme park (I mean Disney specifically) by a mile. I am a repeat customer and did like the food but I recommend you don't order shots of tequella, I ordered 2 shots and when they go to the table the shots weren't filled, when I asked them to fill the shot glasses they brought them back topped with water, I could taste it, it's sad but I won't be going back there ever again read more
