Killarney House is one of the greatest restaurants in the area. It's my go to for Birthdays and I even had my wedding reception there! I was thrilled to see they added curbside pickup! Unlike many local restaurants they actually take precautions to protect their customers and staff that aren't a joke contactless means contactless!You order online and pay before so no signing anything, you can specify an order for pickup up from 30 minutes to 2 hours later. You pull up in a clearly marked lane, a person runs over wearing a mask and signals for you to roll down the window they stand well over 6 feet back and when I popped the trunk he was all to happy to put it in. They had a live guitarist playing in their lot it was really fun, we will definitely be back soon. read more

Have been a patron of Killarney House for many years, mostly in the bar for a pint of Guinness and the friendly barkeeps and atmosphere. The food is also first rate. My favorite is the Lamb Stew but a close second is the Fish and Chips. As a veteran charter boat fisherman of many decades, a fish lover, and a wide-range traveler, I can honestly say that the Killarney House Fish and Chips is the best I ever have had. The folks there are friendly and the food is very good. In these times of "carry out only", do yourself a favor if you are in the Annapolis/Davidsonville area and order takeout/pickup from the Killarney House. You will not be disappointed. Haven't been to this place in a long time so we came for brunch today. Very disappointed. I mean, I am sorry but someone has to say something. I have never been to a buffet in which NOTHING was good. Even the scrambled eggs were lukewarm and watery. Some weird tasting wrap, fried vegetables with too much vinegar. I didn't even risk tasting shepperd's pie because it smelled horrible. It just seems that they know people will come for brunch anyways and don't care. Carved turkey that only had some flavor by putting watery gravy on it. Tried a croissant and seemed like they purchased it the day before. Didn't feel like going back for a second try. And need to remember not coming back at all. Ah, but of course they play non-stop Irish violin stuff. The place used to be packed before, now there are several empty tables around me ona Sunday at 12:30. Sad place. Nice ambiance and a spacious dining room and bar. The food is good, although not haute cuisine, good nonetheless. The prices are very reasonable. The service is excellent. On many evenings there is live music in the bar area. I like it that the bar is completely separate from the dining room. It makes for a quieter meal if one is not into Irish music. This business is under the same ownership as the Galway Bay bar and restaurant located on Maryland Ave in historic Annapolis. On Sundays there is a nice bunch, self-serve style with copious choices of breakfast foods and desserts. read more

I wanted to like it... Called Sunday morning to ask if they have corn beef hash. Was assured yes and that it was the best in town. So off we go for a ride, once there sat down with our coffee and water. Ordered our breakfast and waited. Finally our food arrives, a bowl of fried potatoes, with a few shredded pieces of meat and 2 eggs on top. A few pieces being the key words here. When we questioned the server about it, she looked at it and said she would go ask. If she went to ask we don't know because she didn't come back to tell us. Coffee wasn't refilled, water wasn't refilled. My wife only got one piece of toast with her 2 egg platter, I didn't get any... Oh, thank God! Good fish and chips! Actually, everything was great. Service, atmosphere, bread (both liquid and solid), fish and chips, shepherds pie, beard pudding... Mmmm.... My wife loves in Belfast for a year and said she'd never had soda and brown bread this good. The soda bread was almost like pound cake. We think they made the bread pudding or if the soda bread, too. I've been coming here for 15 yrs now, and it's consistent. I don't sway to much past the fish and chips, usually because when I go that's what I'm looking for. But lamb stew is great, Shepard's pie is great, liver and onions if you like that. Bread pudding is a staple when I go as a desert. Sunday brunch is great as well all you can eat legit corned beef and hash as well as many other things including the bread pudding! Not a drinker and feel comfortable when I've eaten in the bar area. I drove from Alexandria to come try this place. They did not disappoint. The service was phenomenal. The food was delicious. They have many Irish staples you can't go wrong with. We came the day before st. Patrick's day in search of good Irish food. Sadly they were out of the beef pasties which was what we had come for. We settled for the Ruben sandwich and the chicken and dumplings instead. The Ruben was quite good however, there could have been more corned beef inside. The fries served with the Ruben were very good thick cut fries. The chicken and dumplings were a little too salty and was fairly simple so I wouldn't order it again. I definitely wish we could've had the beef pasties instead of the chicken and dumplings. The service was good considering how busy the place was for the holiday. read more

this more of dig on their pricing structure than the actual food. I purchased their Rachel sandwich and added corned beef to it. I have purchased this exact same sandwich 3 times over the last 2 months. each time paying a different price, and todays price with tax was a whopping $27.85. I was like WTF.. the 1st time I paid $18 and change. Their explanation is they charge $12 for 5oz,, so in other words $39 per lb. SO lets do the math and you can tell me if this isnt taking advantage of inflation to distort things in your favor. 1. Standard food cost in a restaurant is around 25 to 30%, sandwiches tend to be closer to 30%. 2. based on what their GM said they are pay for corned beef $5,85 lb, (which is a mediocre quality product price) less yield or loss (cook shrinkage, fat trim and kitchen waste)of around 35% so your cost is app $7.89 per lb 3. one does not factor in labor for food cost, that is part of operating expenses, 4. this yields you a 20% food cost on this item. not very consumer friendly and definitely not thinking about your community around you I like the sandwich but it is only $15 to $18 sandwich with the additional corned beef and I can get a similar sandwich from Chads down the road for $16 Not very happy with the prices and I am very aware of what current wholesale prices are on most restaurant items.. not a value by any means read more

We went to Kilarney House for lunch on St. Patrick's Day. When we made our reservation we were told there would be Irish music played in both the dining room and the bar room on the patio. There was no music at all in the dining room and someone with a guitar was singing Elvis music and pop songs on the patio. We were extremely disappointed as our whole reason for going was to hear Irish music. It was wrong of them to say the would have Irish music for lunch and then not have it. Food was also very mediocre at best. The Irish Caesar salad was terrible and the fries were tough. Chocolate cake was served with no frosting or topping of any kind despite the waiter saying it would have chocolate frosting. Although we had a reservation, after inquiring when our table would be ready the woman at the desk said they were clearing our table and 20 minutes later we still were not seated. 3.5*** The Killarney House is a great place to get your "Irish" on. Owned by the same folks who run Galway Bay and Brian Boru, this is their largest venture and most unique location. Essentially a country stop, It's a great place to go after a foraging for plants at Homestead Gardens and you will find plenty of Irish beer, Jameson and pub-grub to satisfy. Much of the menu is simple American fare with Irish names, like the St. Patrick's Prime Rib I had this past Saturday, or the Limmerick Chicken (Chicken Alfredo) my dining partner is crime had. Still, there are some decidely Irish flourishes, such as the mashed parsnips that came with my prime rib. They also serve a vegetable Boxty! A particular favorite and have a platter with black and white pudding (if you don't know what that is... don't ask) The prime rib, by the way, being one of the best I've tasted in a while. Don't forget to order a basket of soda bread, which is totally addictive. The bar features live music on the weekends, typically a solo guitarist banging out Irish ditties for sing alongs and their expansive outdoor seating makes the perfect spot to chase the sunset while enjoying some decent food and libations. read more

Excellent dinner after a day on the boat! We usually wait until we're back in DC to eat after we sail because I like really fresh, homecooked food, my husband likes a slab of meat, and many of our friends are vegetarian or vegan. We saw the packed parking lot and figured this place was worth a shot though. The food was great. I had a salad - which was perfect. My husband has a burger since it was burger night. The Irish aren't known for their excellent cuisine in general, but Killarney puts a great Irish inspired twist on both fancy and comfort foods none the less. Their fish and chips are very good -- best in the Annapolis area in my opinion. Service is good, food is usually very good and their menu has something for everyone. I give them extra points for being flexible and allowing me to substitute low carb sides for the usual potatoes and such. I'm not going to lie and say that I thoroughly enjoy going to the Killarney House. It's not because of the service, food or anything else. It's strictly a matter of personal taste. However, they do everything right here and you should check it out no matter what my tastes dictate. My mom, Keely and I decided to stay around the area and have a nice, quiet Thanksgiving dinner here. They have a Thanksgiving dinner buffet that's only $19.99. Not too shabby. All of the other restaurants around the area have Thanksgiving buffets, but they range from $30 to $60. Yikes. Make sure that you call for a reservation because they have set times that they serve the buffet. This maximizes the use of the restaurant as their seating area is limited. It can probably hold about 150 people max. The restaurant is filled with a more Irish country aesthetic and is really homely. On normal nights it's pretty peaceful and everyone who comes here is looking for a quiet and relaxing dinner. Moreover, I don't think I've seen a waitress there who is under the age of 30. This is definitely not a knock on the waitresses as they are extremely nice and attentive to everyone. On Thanksgiving, it's a tad more noisy as you could expect. They have an outdoor seating area on those warmer nights that you can sit out and enjoy the weather. Their bar area is relatively small, but warm and inviting. The buffet was housed in the bar area. Drinks were handled by the waitresses. They had a great ensemble of food laid out for us. There was stuffing, mashed potatoes, Shepard's pie, cranberry sauce, dark turkey meat, a meat carver who served white turkey meat or ham, a type of carrot paste, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, plus a few more things that escape my memory. The food was delicious. The turkey was soft and juicy. Everything else was very good, but I want to point out that the meat was cooked correctly and that really makes or breaks anything Thanksgiving. As much as my personal tastes don't want me to return (again, not because of anything they offer or do there), I'm sure I'll be back again as this is where we always end up for any type of formal family gathering. read more

My wife is of Irish heritage and has been to Ireland many times. The food here is so good that she laughs out loud at any comparisons to the flavorless mush they serve over there. We absolutely adore the Jameson spicy tomato soup. We are creamy tomato soup afficionados and this is at the top of our list. Most often I get the corned beef and cabbage. It is perfect every single time. The corned beef is served with two types of mustard and comes in chunks of pure deliciousness. The cabbage is wonderful as well. Fish and chips is excellent, Turkey Reuben is awesome, Shepherds's Pie is off the charts with an exotic complex flavor... everything is always perfect. Smoked salmon appetizer is great, ahi tuna perfect, leek potato soup to die for. This is an Irish pub with actual Irish people working there too. The bar has the holy trinity of Guiness, Harp and Jameson. The bartenders are confident and good natured. They know how to do a perfect pint of Guiness or a black and tan. Its hard to imagine a better restaurant that does so many things well, let alone an Irish Pub neighborhood place. The parking lot is ALWAYS full with nice cars. The crowd is lively and adult. Something is always in the air at Killarney House. This is a must visit restaurant we consider to be the best in Annapolis. read more
