I told her someone told me over the phone that they had live fuzzy mice and she said "No I have to keep my mothers going" to which she said the shipment would be coming in later that day within the next hour. I told her that was inconvenient for me as I was told there was mice there I could pick up and I am a full time mom commuting from Paradise and I had already driven down there twice. She said to come back later when the shipment arrived and that she would give me a discount on live hopper mice. I called later that day before making the drive down and they told me that no live hopper mice were in the shipment. So I've driven down there twice and wasted my time and gas all because they said they had live mice for me to pick up only for them to not. The lack of communication and honesty is very poor. I will only get mice from them now if I absolutely have to. It's very frustrating to tell someone over the phone that what they're looking for is available only for it to not be when going in the store.

The joint was jumping with animal life - a couple-dozen rescue cats and a few dogs; wonderfully vocal young conures; a terrific display aquarium featuring a large and beautiful catfish; and an enormous rhino iguana that climbed out of its open enclosure and wandered outside to hang with passers-by as it basked in the sun. I may drive-up from Sacramento once in awhile just to spend time with all the critters.

Reptiles walking around the store always seem lethargic and sad. I've seen sick/dead fish, and chinchillas out of their enclosures in a hot store (they are from a snowy climate and are very sensitive to heat). Not to mention the "pond" in the middle of the store with WAY too many large fish. It's unfortunate and I felt guilty every time I had to go in there. It stinks horribly in there too.
