I have been taking my Yorkie to Stephanie for years and she was always been wonderful. Once, she even offered to drop him off to me if I couldn't get there by closing. Come on, how many groomers will go the extra mile like that? Though I think she would prefer to give him a beautiful "style" I always ask her to trim him close and she does what I ask. Last year I adopted a new dog and I was told he would always soil himself at the groomers because he was so afraid. I took him to Stephanie and he had no problem. This is by far the best grooming business in Chico. They do an amazing job with our husky, giving her potty breaks, treats, and taking as long as they need to make sure she isn't stressed out during the process. We've had multiple negative experiences with other grooming places in Chico and are so thankful we found this place. You can tell they truly care about animals and are extremely thorough, even bringing attention and care to the lump our dog has on her hip. She loves the dogs and is great at what she does. In a world where stuff is busy busy I appreciate the text to make an appointment option. Disappointed doesn't even begin to describe my experience. First I was sent a NOVEL about instructions for drop off due to COVID, which is totally understandable as businesses have policies during the pandemic.... Unfortunately I pulled up to the front, called in and said I was there and she said, "Uhm, what do the instructions I sent you say?" So rather than good customer service and just kindly asking me to pull to the back, she literally made me pull up the text message and re-read the instructions. After pulling into the back, I was instructed to attach my dogs to a hook on a fence and walk out. She wouldn't come anywhere near me or allow me to walk my dogs to the door even though we were outdoors and both had masks on so of course they were freaked out and upset. In addition, she corrected me multiple times on the type of cut I wanted because I got the name of the cut wrong? When texted a time to pickup and amount due, I kindly asked if she preferred cash or credit card and all I got back was "we don't have a card reader". (This was NOT in the instructions). Honestly the whole experience felt like she talked to and treated me like a child in trouble. Fine grooming for both of my dogs which was about the only saving grace, but really awful customer service. For anybody that wants to be talked to nicely and treated like a human being, look elsewhere. Will not be returning. read more

She wqs cool enough to come apologize and has great communication but I will most likely not be bringing my malamute or husky that I was excited to bring in to have taken care of by them. Would not recommend for long hair dogs. If you like your dog shaved this is the place to go. They do not do anything special, not even a bow in the hair. I guess you get what you pay for. My experience was my poor Shih Tsu was shaved and her ears shaved off without my consent. Their price is not any cheaper then any other groomer. All I can say Is i know that most of their ratings are five star, but makes me wonder how many dissatisfied customers never post. Oh well this was my expierence. My girlfriend and I moved to Chico recently with our four aging pugs. We brought them in a couple of months ago for nail trimming. I've never seen a cleaner, neater job. It was obvious that this business had an owner and staff who really enjoy their work! So later, based on our initial experience, we made an appointment for grooming. One of the pugs sheds to the extreme, and I became used to getting her back from other groomers with an apology (excuse) for not being able to do a thorough job. Not this time! Great first-time visit with my high anxiety dog. We will definately be back! My dog, Rusty, coward behind my legs when Stephanie greeted us at Carol's. I gave her a short history of Rusty's adoption from a shelter and anxiety he has about Vets & Groomers. She listened like she cared, and also gave me information about how a dog's sense of time can contribute to their anxiety. I felt heard, understood, and was confident I was leaving Rusty in good hands. Rusty looked great when I picked him up! Clean and happy. Stephanie gave me a report on Rusty's visit, including how she took time to ease him into the nail trimming. At first, Rusty yelped when she touched his paws, so she gave him a snuggle and tried again. Success! He watched her trim his nails & paw fur with curiosity and without protest.
