The service and the food were great we were seated right away the wait for food was minimal. The killingtons steak salad was the bomb!

My friends and I decided to go one day after a hike during the week. They were pretty empty in the restaurant when we arrived. We went on a day when the margs were $5 dollars. I can't remember what day but they were really good. I ended up getting the fish and fries with a side salad which was really good. I got the dressing that was warm with bacon and it was really good for the salad. . I didn't get pics of my friends good but they had the Cajun pasta and the other had the pork chops. I tired both of their dishes and I was kind of mad because theirs was so good. Next time I know that I should get one of the two dishes that they had because they were so good. We didn't stay for dessert but the main dishes were really good and full of flavor. I'll defs add this local spot to my list of restaurants. read more

Second time trying this spot. First time was months ago, I had a salad for my main. It was average- I don't even remember what kind. Hence why I wasn't rushing to return. Returned and got the Fish and Chips. Again, an average meal. I will say the housemade chips are awesome! (Granted the side of ranch I requested came at .75 upcharge I wasn't aware of. No biggie but would be nice to be made aware). The fish was fine- crunchy breading- I prefer more of a beer batter if I'm being picky. The asparagus was tasteless. I had two stalks and was done. I highly recommend if it's coming steamed to do so with salt or chicken broth. Wine was served in stemless glass. Again minor thing but I prefer a stem especially if a cold white. Good thing is I wasn't holding long enough to raise the temperature. Side note- server very good. Didn't rush us to order while my friend and I caught up. Okay -- let me start by saying this review could've been a 1 star and they made it a 5. Last night was the first warm night of the year and Killingtons (and every neighboring restaurant) was PACKED. Killingtons was also hosting a private party. We waited 30 minutes for our table (no biggie), and ordered. I've also considered the service here to be a bit slow and everything seemed normal, until we realized 40 minutes had passed since we received our apps/drinks, and 90 minutes since we'd showed up. We had 2 kids with us and their patience was far expired. We asked our waiter if he could switch our order to-go. A wrap, a burger, a salad and a soup. Overall, it was pretty clear they were super behind and it seemed possible our waiter just forgot to fire our order. Shit happens, we were not rude about it at all but our kids simply did not have 2+ hours waiting for dinner on their bingo cards. I even left with them in the car to go get them ice cream before dinner Another 20 minutes passed and our food was ready. We did NOT ask for any comps and my husband gave his card to pay. The waiter came back and said the sale was voided and they also added 2x $15 gift certificates for the future. SO, in conclusion. While the long wait wasn't great, the food was and to make sure we left HAPPY without us even asking for anything really changed our mood and earned them 5 stars from us. Ambience was nice. Appetizers were interesting. We tried the banana peppers stuffed with bread crumbs, pretzel, calamari, and spinach dip. Banana peppers were huge and tasted like green bell peppers. Pretzel was yummy. Calamari was not the traditional fried calamari. It was a bit more saucy, and was tangy, salty and sweet. The spinach dip was more cheese dip instead. The people that you place to go orders with are rude as heck. They made me feel like I was bothering them when I placed an order. They first answered and asked if it was okay to transfer me to the bar to plave my to go order. I said no problem. They transferred me and the phone rang for about 2 minutes. I hung up and called back. I stated that no one at the bar was assisting me and that I would like to place my to go order with the person I was talking to. She clearly did not want to help me and made it very apparent. While speaking to her I ordered the Bayou pasta and requested extra sauce. We then hung up. However I wanted to make sure my order reflected extra sauce and that's when Alex answered the phone. Alex read back my order and before I could even say "that is correct, thank you for your help" he/she hung up on me. Our waitress was not attentive at all she would drop stuff off at the table and walk away immediately not asking if we need anything or if it's good. So I order the beef tenderloin as it is on the menu. My two sides were wrong and the steak was extremely rare, when I asked for medium rare. The waitress had a attitude also. I came to Killingtons last month with a number of my coworkers for dinner one evening. I called to set up reservations, which went smoothly, although we probably did not need it for a weekday evening as it was not crowded; however, always better to be prepared! Even though it was not crowded, I did think service was a little slow, so I would hate to see it on a busy night! I ordered the mushroom wrap (Portabella Mushroom Wrap roasted red pepper, grilled onion, spinach and feta cheese served in garlic herb wrap) with baked mac and cheese. I thought the wrap was amazing! It had great flavor and I would highly recommend. Writing this review makes me want to order it again soon! The only bad thing about the wrap is that I had half of it there and half of it for lunch the next day. The leftovers still had great flavor, but the juices from probably the peppers and mushrooms were a lot, so much that wrap did not hold together well and made it soggy. Hope they could perfect it some how so that it is okay to only have half or offer half to purchase! The mac and cheese was not great, it was not bad as it did have a good cheese flavor, but it was too dry of a baked mac and cheese. I would get something different next time, which is disappointing as I love a good cheesy and creamy mac and cheese, it just fails here! I do look forward to coming back here and trying more items, definitely a nice addition to this area, but just needs to work on a couple of things to get to a better review. 3.5 stars, but bumping it to a 4 since we can't do the .5 on yelp. read more

We were so looking forward to going this place for dinner. So disappointed in the service! Our server was rude and dismissive. The silverware was dirty there was no salt and pepper at the table. The server wouldn't give us more than a minute to listen to our questions or answers! I ordered a burger with house made fries. There was nothing on the table but the utensils. When the food came no ketchup or ranch for the chips. Although the burger had pimento cheese I still wanted ketchup. Asked server for it and I could tell it was a problem. My SIL ordered the pasta and realized there was no salt and pepper. As our server ran by we asked her to bring some pepper and she rudely asked if there was anything else we needed while she was back there. Ad if serving isn't in the job description! The longest she stayed by the table was to get the check. Of which she rushed us as if she was walking out of the door! We asked for split checks and again that was an issue based on her attitude. She begrudgingly obliged and didn't say thank you for the tip she didn't deserve! But I get tired of people saying people of color don't tip! We do when the service is good. But there's a misconception that I want to dispel. We tip based on service! Most of the time we don't get it! That's a whole other conversation. Back to Killington's I gave her 20% which was very very generous! Would've given more if her attitude was better. Food was good. The homemade chips were from lunch I'm sure as I had crumbs Instead of actual whole chips. We ordered vanilla mules they were good. All in all 2 out of 10 tomatoes for the service which makes me not want to return. I will however try the location closer to my home in Huntersville. I'll let you know how that one is. We eat here once a week at least. The menu is good. I would recommend the burger. The sides are really good too. The grits are money. The staff is always friendly and you don't generally have to wait for a table. They are also really good with to go orders. Generally have a good local beer selection. This was a random place near the hotel. I stopped in for a quick bit and a beer. Jack was behind the counter and was quick to welcome everyone. He offered and delivered beverages as soon as you made your order. Drinks were cold and no complaints. The food was alright, bar food. I had the burger, it was cooked perfectly and had some nice flavor. The crowd here is what set this place apart. You have locals, business people, and travelers all hanging out and meeting people, with in 30 minutes I felt like I was with a bunch of old friends. Taking a break from shopping and roaming around Fort Mill, we stopped in for a snack and drink. Mostly a bar, and the early afternoon crowd had a very loud guy dominating, which took away from what otherwise is a cozy, more tranquil place. This became a proven observation after this guy left. I did think the wine was a bit over priced at $7.50 - 9.50 per glass; but I did like how they had featured whites and reds, both selections were very good ones. There was a cheaper house wine, Salmon (?) for $5.50/glass if you are on a budget. Beer seemed high, but I do not remember how much it was. That said, they have a number of drafts, which are regularly changed, and lots of bottled beers. I especially liked that they featured local beers. We ate a snack of loaded chips ($8.75) and that was it. The dinner menu looked like a heck of a lot more to offer than the daytime, so there is potential to check out Killingtons for dinner sometime. read more

The Baxter chicken (substitute green beans for the spinach) yummmm and so much food! Green beans amazing flavor! Bayou pasta not spicy, great flavor, so much chicken. I'm always glad to see a new restaurant in Fort Mill. Killington's replaced the Beef O Brady's in Baxter Village. We came in for a late dinner on a Saturday night and it wasn't crowded. We were greeted and told we could sit wherever we'd like. We sat in a booth. The menu has a variety of items from salads to sandwiches, burgers to entrees. I ordered the special which was the prime rib with parmesan green beans and a side salad. Hubby ordered a meatloaf sandwich. The side salad was pretty good. I got the sweet and spicy dressing which was okay. The entree was a good size. The most flavor on the plate were the parmesan green beans. The prime rib was chewy and lacking seasoning. I poured the au jus and some of the horseradish sauce and it was still just okay for me. Even though it was slow, there was a group of really loud people on the other side of us, but I guess that comes with the later dinner. We just wanted a quiet dinner. There's a good variety on the menu and I wouldn't mind coming back to try something different. read more

Brand new location in Fort Mill SC. This is located where Beef o' Brady's use to be. The inside has changed slightly with a casual atmosphere with plenty of seating located inside and out and has a nice bar area with three large screen TVs. There are plenty of tv's to watch sports wherever you are seated. Tonight we had the Killington's dip with fries, bowl of chili, side salad, and a side of Parmesan green beans. Great first experience. My wife and I stopped by after church for a late brunch. Fantastic experience. They are taking good COVID-19 protections (sanitizing tables and posting placards indicating, face coverings for all employees and guests not at a table, sanitizer at front door. I had not been to Killingtons before very nice place. My friend had her husbands surprise party so We had a set menu with great choices. I ordered the fish an chips an it was huge :) The fish had a great batter to it an crispy fries yum. They have a separate room in the back has 2 doors so we were able to surprise the guest of honor. They did a fabulous job on appetizers cheese/meat trays with crackers, chips with a pepper jack queso. If your in baxter village stop in food is great an service amazing. read more

Just left Killingtons. We were on the wait list and when our turn came up, seated right away. You would think, great! However, after being seated we waited approximately 20 minutes for ANY service. There were at least 3 servers that entered our section & none would even make eye contact. We understand restaurants are short staffed & only needed an acknowledgment to let us know they were backed up, the very least of good customer service. With all the wonderful restaurants in the area, we will NEVER be back & I would suggest you avoid! read more

Stopped in for brunch today because they have TVs to watch games. Parked at the bar, and received poor service. Asked the bar tender 3x's for the special- had to ask 3x's because I couldn't hear her. She kept turning away and mumbling. Ordered a Bloody Mary- the worst Bloody Mary I've ever had. Decided to cut our losses, didn't drink but one sip, paid cash and left. We were so excited to try this place and it was so disappointing. When we were seated we waited 15 mins before anyone even visited our table. All of the servers seemed clustered and confused. When we got our food I am not exaggerating when I say it did not have an ounce of flavor. Everything tasted like cardboard. Like no way they even know what salt and pepper is in this place. I would give the food 4 stars and the beer prices a 1. A craft beer will cost you 8 dollars here and that is kind of ridiculous. Food is always good and cocktails are usually consistent.
