Poor Scheduling, Inconsistent Pricing, and Lack of Communication I had a frustrating experience with Killroy Pest Control before they even set foot in my home, From the start, there were multiple issues with scheduling, pricing, and basic follow-through. When I first called, I was quoted $265 (after a $30 coupon) for exterior cockroach treatment and cobweb removal. After clarifying that I also needed an interior inspection and treatment, the price was adjusted to $320, and an appointment was scheduled for Wednesday between 8-10am. I specifically requested a written estimate via email - which they never sent. A few days later, a technician called to reschedule the appointment to 10am-noon, stating that he was never in my area during the originally scheduled window. To make matters worse, he had NO idea that interior treatment and inspection were part of the job, and quoted me yet another price - $350 this time ! Between the scheduling mix-up, the lack of any written estimate, and the price changing EVERY time I spoke to someone, I have zero confidence in this company's ability to organize and communicate basic information. Kilroy was to service a simple, small wasp nest. They told me I would need to scrape it off myself (!) and would only spray a chemical at the nest. If the wasps weren't dead in 2 days, call them back and they would hit it again. The wasps were alive and well a week later. They did not return any of my calls and tried to take the money and run. After canceling the check, they still send me invoices months later to pay them for work not completed let alone not willing to do entirely themselves. They refuse to communicate with me other than to demand money. They are demanding $200+ for removing a nest that is still there and full of wasps. You can buy a spray can for wasps at Home Depot for $5 if you're going to just scrape it off yourself anyway. read more

Requested a service from KiIlroy Pest Control on January 11, 12024 to trap and eliminate rats that penetrated my home. James Pitchford arrived at the scheduled time for inspection, but noticing signs of penetration near the furnace, immediately set the traps near the furnace and in the crawl space. He professionally sealed a vent that was exposed by recent cable service where a plant was removed and exposed a prior hole that could not be seen or accessed before. My bad for not calling Killroy right away.. He also sealed space under a door from the furnace area to the garage to prevent the rats penetrating my garage. This winter, we reached out to Killroy Pest Control to deal with a losing battle against ants, both inside and outside the home. In California, ant invasions are a common occurrence, and we could not manage the situation despite trying various off-the-shelf solutions. I like that it is a family owned company and based on the reviews, I was comfortable having Killroy come out and look at my ant problem at my house. At first I was a bit wary that they took my CC information and true to their words, they will not charge to your card unless you give them the approval. David the service person was also very responsive when I ask them to call me before starting on any work. Waste of time and money. I had called and requested someone to go check my attic because there was a lot of noise coming from the attic. Their inspector walked around my backyard and used his ladder to check the roof from the backyard, and that was it. He refused to go to the attic, which was why I had called in the first place. His diagnosis was only based on his "expectation". He did acknowledged that the animal(s) were in the attic as he was at my house. However, he still refused to go check what exactly they were. Both are fantastic. Showed up every month like clockwork, answered my questions - I have ALOT of questions - came out off cycle to check any issues I might be facing. Always friendly and obviously knowledgeable. Fantastic service! Recently I had a rodent problem (ugh!). Brian, their rodent specialist, came to my rescue. To say I was freaking out is an understatement and Brian was calm, reassuring and identified the issues. It appears all is well for now and kudo's to Brian for putting up with my anxiety over the issue. One side note? On our first telephone convo I asked Brian if he would mind wearing a mask when inside my home, to which he replied "no problem." Every visit after that he showed up at my door with the mask on. PSA: I haven't posted a review on Yelp in ... 8 years... but I decided to sign in so I could give a rave review for Killroy. That speaks a lot. --- My landlord uses Terminix and apparently sprayed our place on 6/15/22. We moved in the middle of July and was welcomed with hundred, if not, thousands of ants inside the house (apparently they want water) After 30 days of using Ortho Home Defense spray and at least 20 Terro Ant Baits and 10 Terro Ant Bait Outdoor stakes, I gave up. The ants kept coming back. My neighbors recommended Killroy. Eddie Is THE MAN! The guy came by, smiling, and was ready to help. He's super Knowledgeable and just an overall good person. We called Killroy after we had caught a rat in a trap that my husband set. Unfortunately, the trap didn't kill the rat, and I have twin two uear olds that were very interested in the rat. I called killroy in a sheer panic. Susan immediately understood my issue and put me on a brief hold, I thought she would come back and say we can get someone out to you tomorrow or next week, imagine my surprise and gratitude when she told me her technician, Eddie would be out to my house TODAY!! Not only did Eddie show up, but he certainly within the hour. Eddie listened and immediately got to work. Eddie is amazing! Eddie did a thorough inspection and explained everything as he went. Eddie checked every nook and cranny to not only catch the rats but to make sure they didn't come back! Eddie was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and understanding ( even with my twins following him around saying rats attic). Our HVAC guy was here to replace a faulty thermostat. When he went to the outdoor closet that houses our furnace and water heater, he looked down and noticed rat droppings underneath the closet (in the crawlspace under the house). Ick!! I jumped on Yelp to locate a quality rodent control company serving my area. Luckily, I found Killroy. I called Killroy. The woman who answered the phone was very helpful. She took all of my information and set me up with an appointment. She explained what the tech would do and the types of estimates he would give. On the day of the appointment, we had a four-hour window for arrival. The technician was Brian and he called to let us know when he would be arriving. When Brian got to our house, he was friendly, professional, and honest. He inspected the area where the droppings were. He said that he could see tracks where the rodent(s) had been, but the droppings looked old. He did not believe anything had taken up residence, but also pointed out how the critter likely gained access. He suggested a fairly simple fix and got right to work. Brian also inspected the entire house for potential entry points. He complimented how well the house was sealed and pointed out a couple of small places where entry might be possible. These were places we could easily stuff a little steel wool or metal screen. Brian said that some people like to track any rodents away from the house by using traps or poison, but that was completely up to us. I said I did not want to chance poisoning or trapping other wildlife, so in the absence of a colony residing under the house, it did not seem necessary. He agreed. There was no pressure or fear mongering. I appreciated Killroy's efficiency and Brian's honesty. I would call them first for any pest-control needs. read more
