Mike is fantastic and I give him my highest recommendation. But before Mike, I called Terminix and the guy quoted me a huge price, filled with things I did not need. What's worse, is that he claimed he did not find any rodent activity and the inspector was actually too afraid to go into the attic where I was hearing the activity (he said he could be bitten or the rodents could run out)! Soon after, I called Mike, who set up an appointment for just a couple days out. During his inspection, Mike gave me confidence that he knew what he was doing and was not going to overcharge me. He immediately identified the rodent activity, proposed solutions, and quoted me a fair price with a 1 year guarantee. He kept his word with three in-person follow-up visits to inspect traps and a fourth visit to seal the entry ways. He might have even came a fifth time because he's a great guy who cares about his customers and his work - I lost count. Mike even went above and beyond when he cleaned the vent for my dryer when he noticed it could be a fire hazard. Aside from Mike's great work, you can instantly tell he's a kind, sincere person. I don't leave reviews often, but we have been using Mike and his services for several years now and he's great. He first treated our home for fleas back in 2021 and we used his services again in 2023 and 2024 for an ant problem which he treated very well. Mike is a solid pest exterminator and extremely busy so don't get offended if you need to leave a voicemail and wait a day or so to get a response back. I used this company for an outdoor Cockroach issue I had. Like they said, the roaches would appear a couple weeks after, and it did, then a month later they still appeared. I called Mike and he said it was normal to see and didn't want to spray chemical on chemical, that if I seen them again couple weeks later to give them a call and he'll send someone out. I let 2 weeks go by and I called, left a voicemail, no answer, called a couple more times, still no answer then my calls go straight to voicemail, because he blocked me. DO NOT use this company there is NO 60 day warranty, they will not come out for the same issues and it's been 3 months and I'm still seeing roaches outside my home and they refuse to come out and re-spray. Unprofessional and not reliable don't hold to their word I do not recommend this company to severe cockroach issues. It's too bad bc I wanted to use them for a rodent issue I have. read more

I had bug problems in my last living situation (only the lorrrrd knows why), and as poor college students, we couldn't afford to spend $1000-$5000 to have them exterminated. My room mate got in contact with Mike as soon as she found this business on Yelp, and I am endlessly glad she did. Mike was very clear about pricing and instructions on preparing the place to be treated. I believe it was $750 to treat one room, and we had to wash and bag all cloth, and remove all items from shelves and cabinets. The treatment included two sessions in which we had to leave the house, and he and his cousin came to take care of moving some furniture and treating the room. They are very professional and personable people, which really helps in situations like these where you might be losing your mind... The treatments are about a week apart, then it takes a couple weeks for the bugs to die off. Unfortunately, only two treatments are included, so if you have returning bugs you're SOL and have to pay for more treatments. Luckily, Mike and his cousin did a wonderfully thorough job of treating our room, and I guess we did a good job of handling everything else, so we didn't need any more treatments. When a friend of mine had similar issues recently, I immediately referred him to this business. Mike was just as professional and accommodating with him, and he gave him a discount for being referred by a past customer! Likewise, my friend's place only required two treatments before the problem was eliminated. These guys are awesome! I would not recommend them especially for flea treatment. based on my experience: 1. Their response is very slow or didn't respond at all. 2. The service price is not "budget" 3. The service quality is not ideal, I'm having flea issue inside my house. But after treatment the pest still present. Sometimes the flea still alive right after their treatment. When I ask for re-do the treatment I encountered no-response issue or other excuses. The excuses including need me to wait but after wait pest still present. or they claim the pest is from other place but the infested indoor room is closed. I am so happy Mike came out to spray for the bugs in our yard. We have had an ant problem for months and no matter how much I cleaned, they were still coming out of the little cracks all over the house. Called Mike and he was able to come the next day since he was scheduled to be in my area. He was punctual, professional, and knowledgeable. He explained how the giant roaches and black widows in our area have been a problem and how the treatment works. He sprayed the perimeter of our house within an hour and told me what to expect. Michael and Raul are wonderful and really care for their customers. I called as I thought I had a problem with a squirrel or rodent in my attic or walls. Raul made time to check out the issue the next day. After Raul thoroughly inspected all the eaves, openings, and attic, there was no evidence of squirrel or rodents. It turned out to be a wire knocking against the wall during a windy day making sounds which sounded like an animal crawling in the walls. I totally recommend them as they are honest, so helpful and have been providing excellent service for the past two years. They continue to provide the spray service once every three months and there has not been one bug inside my house since I've been working with them. My mother and brother had no idea why they were constantly waking up with red bites on their bodies until I noticed that they actually had Bed Bugs :/ *GROSS & TRAUMATIZING! So, I procured a used dishwasher off OfferUp some six or eight months ago. We got this appliance for a steal from a Fremont condo complex. A few weeks after that, the German Roaches started popping up. I've been in the same house going on ten years and never seen those. Long story short, there were eggs in the dishwasher and an infestation happened in what seemed to be overnight. Normally I handle my own work but after fumbling so hard on the replacement dishwasher, this job had to be outsourced and I reached out to BPC. An appointment was made for the next day. Mike and I think his brother came out to provide a white glove treatment spraying and dusting all nooks and crannies. Right away we noticed a difference but became concerned after additional hatches took place. They came out and sprayed again with another chemical to ensure nothing was missed and I've not seen a german roach in our house since... thanks! Moral of the story, do not buy a used dishwasher from an apartment complex .. this is not something previously known to me.... Fast forward six months and summer hitting in San Jose. The notorious Oriental Roaches (big black sewer roaches) that are everywhere in San Jose start coming out. These aren't much of an infestation problem, as they prefer being outside, but my wife and kids freak out when they rarely get into the house from our garage. An attempt was made to control them from our garage but over the counter did not cut it this year. I called in Mike to rescue and he hooked me up again with a solid outside perimeter coverage and we're looking great midsummer. These men are professionals. I rarely write reviews but I really wanted to share my experience with Budget Pest Control and in particular, Mike. My family moved into a home about six months back where we noticed a black widow problem. We gave Mike a call and he promptly scheduled a date and time. That day came and to my expectations - Mike was right on time. Mike explained the process to me and also gave me some info on the pests we were dealing with. He did his thing and about 20 minutes later he was all done - great! However, as Mike exited our home he let me know that while he was spraying inside he noticed the smell of gas. He insisted that I call PG&E immediately. PG&E came by and Mike stayed around to explain where they should check. Sure enough, there was a small gas leak in our garage which PG&E fixed right away. PG&E explained that this was a potential disaster and we are lucky that Mike had noticed. Who knows what could have happened if he had not noticed the leak. I want to say THANK YOU to Mike for his great observations (he also noticed a small rodent hole in our outside wall). Budget Pest Control has my approval by far. I do not usually come here, or leave many reviews, but I just had to because Mike is seriously the best! I was having a pretty bad roach problem at home, I tried pretty much all over the counter type of solutions, but nothing was working. I called Mike, he came to my house for an estimate within a day, and he gave us a super appropriate quote for everything that needed to be done. At no point was Mike pushy to get the job, he was super knowledgeable and pleasant, and knew what he was talking about. The preparation was nothing hard, had to move a few pieces of furniture around to prep for the procedure. I actually forgot to remove a few things from my cabients, and Mike was nice enough to clean those out for me without increasing the fee. The whole process took about an hour and a half. He had to come by twice, to set the poison for the roaches. Mike mentioned that I might still see a few roaches here and there for the next week, and I did see very few the next few days. It has been about 2 months since he came, and I have not seen 1 single roach in or outside my home. These roaches were driving me and my family insane, I cannot be more thankful for Mike's work. We had a great experience with Budget Pest Control! My boyfriend and I moved into a house in San Jose late this spring and by the summer, ants were everywhere, inside and out. We have a few fruit trees in the yard including a fig tree and as soon as a piece of fruit was ripe, there were hundreds of ants all over it. First we tried to get rid of them ourselves - I tried a number of different natural methods and when those didn't work, basically every option I could buy at a store. None of them worked. I called and spoke to Mike on a Saturday and made an appointment for that Tuesday. We have two dogs so he explained what we should do with them in mind (i.e., put away their toys, food and water bowls and keep them out of the house for about an hour while everything dries). Raul came exactly on time and we walked through the house and yard together so I could show him all of the problem areas. I left with the dogs and got a notification from our door lock that he had locked up less than an hour later. The ants were immediately better than they were before treatment, but unfortunately they did come back in two spots in the house. I called Mike after a week and he agreed they would come back out. As the second treatment was covered under their 60 day warranty, I was afraid that the service might not be as good now that they would be doing the work for free. I thought I might have to wait much longer for an appointment, but they again were able to come out in just a few days. Everything about the second service went smoothly. It has now been more than two weeks and I haven't seen more than a handful of individual ants over that whole time! I'm very happy with Budget Pest Control and will definitely use them as needed in the future! read more

We had a rodent problem in our car that nobody wanted anything to do with. We called over 10 different places and only Mike was willing to come out to take a look. Not only did he set up traps in the car, he also assessed the exterior of our home and covered up a couple of vulnerable spots. He setup an ingenious trap on the side of our home that resulted in trapping the rodent a couple days later. Mike and Raul are great. They came to help with roaches and mice issues. We have just moved into this unit and were not aware of the issues before. What a surprise! We tried everything we can get our hands on in the market. And nothing works. Mike and Raul came over. After two weeks, we can see the big roaches disappeared and only babies ones on the counter. After 3 weeks, they are completely gone. They also helped us ruled out mice problems and sealed all the cracks and holes which they can enter in the future. Now, we can finally relax in a pest free home. They are true experts on what they are doing and very efficient. We are very happy with the results. They are not these types of exterminators who do not help you kill all the pests. Instead, they want you to have them come over monthly to make more money from you. Mike and Raul kill everything once for all. They are also super nice people. Since I just moved to this unit and neighborhood, they took their time, helped me identified all the major water, and gas shut off valves and taught me a lot about how to shut them down during emergencies. I had just come back from a week-long vacation and one morning when I woke up, I saw red, itchy bumps all over my calves! Thinking it was the usual bug bites every normal person has, I dismissed it. Until the numbers kept growing... Suspecting the possible case of bed bugs, I decided to look around my mattress and saw these black little bugs that crawled around. I FREAKED OUT. I quickly called Budget Pest Control with the hope that I can get someone to come by and check out my bed. Mike Henderson returned my call in about 10 minutes. We talked on the phone for a while as he asked me some basic questions, like my finding of the critters, if I traveled, had I done any home treatments already, the whole nine yards. I was expecting to make an appointment with him sometime later in the week since he told me he was booked, but instead, he said he would stop by my house in about 30 minutes since it was on his way to his next appointment. If that isn't great customer service, I don't know what is. And right on the dot, he came by, put on some booties, and did an inspection of my bed. Because it was such short notice, he probably didn't have enough time to do a VERY thorough inspection, but I was relieved when he said he didn't think I had a case of the bed bugs but rather fleas. YUCK! He then left me his business card just in case I needed his services after utilizing some more home treatments (sprays and whatnot), but I really hope I won't. Overall, I was very pleased with Mike's quick response to my problem and his assurance that my bed is perfectly fine. Thank goodness for that! read more

My experience is based purely on phone contact -- he never actually made it out to our place because 5 days and 3 voicemails later we decided to go with someone else. I had originally made contact with Mike on account of his awesome reviews on yelp, and my initial conversation with him was awesome. He quoted me at $180 for the outside and inside of our place, a really great price for the space. I told him about our issues, he listened to me whine about about our horrible, terrible spider problem, and didn't try to rush through the conversation and get off the phone with me. I had some tricky phone calls to make, I live on a property with 3 families and I had to get the ok from our landlord - when that final happened 3 days later I gave him a call back. I gave him a call Monday and left a voicemail, Tuesday and left a voicemail, and Wednesday - again left a voicemail. I didn't get a single call back until Thursday afternoon, ironically enough we had another pest control guy on his way out at the same exact time. He told me it was a busy time of the year, which I completely understand. But honestly dude, I left 3 voicemails -- you couldn't find a SINGLE moment during either of those 3 days to call? Or even text, heck in this day and age I wouldn't mind that. I really wish we could have gone with Mike. I believe he provides superior service, but I think it's time for a secretary or at least someone to take messages for you. read more

How is Mike, the owner of Budget Pest Control, wonderful? Let me list the ways.... -My husband called him at 12AM on a Saturday night and we were lucky enough to see him within 30 min. Who DOES that? THIS GUY -He is professional, knowledgeable, and gave great tips on preventing future problems. -He charged us a reasonable price (actually super cheap for the things that he did) to take care of our problems (initially, it was a mouse, but then he found black widow spiders) -His methods for solving our serious problems were quick and effective. -He's so funny! He made my husband and I laugh so much when he finished his work. I don't know how he kept calm about everything while I was busy having a nervous breakdown about rat/mouse AND black widow spiders. Here's my long story: At about 10pm on a Saturday night, my husband distinctly saw a mouse scurry in our bedroom from one furniture piece to another. I was really hoping that my husband was just imagining things until I saw the mouse myself while we moved furniture away from the walls. There it was... hiding under our kids toys (which we'll soon be throwing away). We tried to box it in (stupid us) and I saw it dart a few times against the cardboard boxes. Then, I freaked out and it scurried under our dresser. Later, we saw it climbing the wall about 4+ feet! Frantically, we called every phone number we could google. Nobody was open or on duty to save us from this nuisance. I yelped late night pest control and saw another yelp review mentioning how Mike from Budget Pest Control took a house call emergency at 11pm. I practically cried of happiness when my husband said that Mike was coming to save us. When Mike arrived, he first inspected our garage and backyard and pointed out easy access areas for rodents to enter the house. Whats worse, his flashlight found huge SEVERAL BLACK WIDOW SPIDERS. I actually saw them with my own eyeballs these huge black spiders with the red splotches on the thorax(?). I was getting flashbacks from my biology textbooks! YIKES! Both my husband and I saw the spiders with our own eyes (the spiders are nocturnal so they were easy to see at 1 AM). We have little children and dogs. Since their spider bites are/can be lethal, I could not believe my luck that Mike helped us out with the mouse and the spiders immediately. After he sprayed the spiders with poison, we checked our bedroom again to see if the traps caught the mouse. Sure enough, my husband confirmed seeing the mouse caught by the traps and taken care of by Mike. I'm too chicken to see a mouse wiggling around. Hearing the mouse squealing was already too much. But, it was still a relief that Mike helped us out. Not only did Mike immediately lower our blood pressure by taking a mouse away, but he saved us from multiple medical bills and emotional distress that WOULD have occurred if my husband, me, my kids or the dogs suffered from a black widow spider bite. For what he charged to help us out, that fee was A BARGAIN. Mike, my husband and I thank you SO MUCH for coming to our house late a night and being wonderful. This is only one review, but we will write many more if needed. No worries about referrals. My big mouth will surely tell everyone I know about your fantastic work and professionalism. This is 6 months overdue. Mike is AH-MAZING! Seriously - my hero. I don't know what I would do without him in my life. Wait, yes I do....I'd be killing critters! 6 months ago we moved into a house we were renting and I saw my very first cockroach in the garage....and then I saw a ton more. I was traumatized. Called mike and he zipped out super fast! He explained a bunch of stuff about roaches that I may or may not have been paying attention to because I was too busy watching these nasty little jerks crawling up the walls as they tried to get away from the good stuff Mike was spraying everywhere. 5 days later, next to zero roach activity. Score! While he was here, he smelled gas. He asked me for soapy water and found the leak in the water heater. Let us all remember that he is an exterminator. Talk about going above and beyond! Fast forward to today. We are yet again moving and there is no way I'm bringing any bugs with us, so I called up Mike to have him spray the garage. He was here in 30 minutes.
