We have visited many Kilwin's locations throughout Florida and it is always a treat. They have a large assortment of ice cream flavors and a large assortment of fudge, chocolates and candies. On this day we tried a cappuccino chocolate chip shake and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. While the ice cream doesn't quite measure up to our favorite (Blue Bell), it is quite tasty. The cappuccino chocolate chip had a nice and not overpowering flavor. The shake could have been a little more thick but it was very good and I'll return for another one. The vacillate ice cream was also tasty. We didn't buy and chocolates or candies this visit but have before and they are very nice. read more

Kilwin's is a great place to grab a fresh waffle cone and some amazing ice cream! This particular location is right around the corner from The Columbia and makes a great dessert stop if you aren't getting the guava cheesecake there. Kilwin's is a chain, but they do vary their flavors. For instance, I only found one of my favorites at the St. Armand's circle location in Sarasota, but recently, much to my glee it has been spotted at both the Winter Park and Celebration locations. What flavor? Glad you asked. I enjoy the blueberry waffle ice cream. It has chunks of real waffle cone in it and tastes just like what mom would make for breakfast - minus the ice cream, but more the blueberry waffle flavor. If they don't have blueberry waffle, my go to is salted caramel. It is some of the best ice cream I've ever had. Then they got really crazy and started offering chocolate salted caramel as opposed to vanilla. Sometimes I'll go for the chocolate. I've also been told the toasted coconut and pralines and cream flavors are solid. I've never ventured outside of the holy trinity of ice cream - blueberry waffle, salted caramel, or chocolate salted caramel, but I'm sure the others are great too. Kilwin's also does a lot of candy, so if you want to take something home for later they've got you covered there too. The food quality, service, price and atmosphere are all going to meet or exceed expectations. 4 stars - This is for a place that is good, I would drive a little out of the way to go, and the food and service is good, but maybe not amazing. Also for me, this could also be a great place that serves Pepsi products - automatic 1 star loss - bad management decision. 3 stars - This is for a place that I view as standard. Nothing special, nothing lousy, not a place you'd avoid like the plague, but a place that is not one you really look forward to either. 2 stars - This is for a place that had something go wrong or something perpetually wrong. The food and or service is likely consistently suspect here (they probably serve Pepsi too). 1 star - I can't see wasting time writing a review on a place that gets a 1 star. We stopped here after dinner in Celebration and were not disappointed. This is a great spot within walking distance of all the great "main meal" dinner/lunch spots. We had a group of 6 and didn't have to wait long although we were not the only group there. I had a standard chocolate milkshake and loved it! The rest of the family had different flavors of ice cream: waffle cones, bowls, etc. Everyone enjoyed their desert. There is no real seating inside but several benches and tables outside. When you walk into Kilwins you want to eat everything. The chocolate goodies and endless types of treats they have all look so delicious. I got 2 milk chocolate covered pretzels which were amazing. My son got a lemon sorbetto which was very yummy and my husband got a cookies and cream shake. I do have to say that the shake was a little too milky (then again I can't drink milk alone to save my life), but he liked it. They have outdoor sitting, which was nice. Overpriced for what you get. If you simply get a dish of ice cream, it isn't anything special to warrant the price. Although the smell of the freshly made waffle cones are enticing. If you want a sundae, I would suggest cold stone creamery. At least there's the show of mixing the ice cream with toppings on a marble slab. Located in the heart of downtown Celebration this is the perfect spot to indulge in some sweets after dinner, or a afternoon walk around the area. The shop has sweets ranging from chocolates to ice cream. There is a decent amount of options for you to choose from and all look so tasty it took me about 10 min to finally decide which I wanted. This holiday season they had a couple of different flavors: pumpkin pie, peppermint, and apple pie. The apple pie ice cream was to die for! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. We were offered samples to help with our big decision. The prices are average for ice cream. I paid $6.37 for 2 big scoops in a waffle bowl. Few things get a 5 star rating from this guy, but Kilwins always does. Kilwins is a specialty chocolate shop with roots in northern Michigan. Don and Kathy Kilwin started the company some time ago and later sold it. New ownership later grew the company with franchises in many states, sprawling from Michigan to Florida and out west to Colorado. Specialty ice cream and chocolates and all so delicious. Try them all! Their specialty is Mackinac Island (Michigan) fudge, which are offered in several flavors. (Tip: Fudge is not chocolate so don't eat large quantity of fudge in a single sitting or you'll be sitting elsewhere with a rumbly in the tummy). Many Kilwin stores create some of their delectable chocolate products in store. You can watch them in action making in-house fudge or other treats. NOTE: Ever want to know what's made in-house and what is shipped in? Just search on products for the Kilwins label. If it lists an address for that local store, then it was likely made there. If the Kilwins label lists a city of "Petoskey, Michigan" then it was likely shipped in - but still delicious. Just know Kilwins chocolate is a little more expensive than your ordinary Hershey bar - but the quality is so much greater and well worth it! read more

Used to come to Kilwins for a treat but it has declined from what it was. Mediocre ice cream with service to match. Even in Celebration this place is over priced and it under delivers. No wow factor any more. I used to go knowing it was expensive but a great treat for our kids. Now we leave feeling ripped off. My daughter saved some birthday money and ear marked it specifically for Kilwins. She was excited to go and after ordering her favourite superman flavour she left the store angry with her stingy tiny scoop ($6) and said it was "a waste of her birthday money and she's never going back". Part of my family lives in celebration, so I go here often. Ice cream is good but very overpriced. It's also become very touristy - people are actually bused in on tours to eat here! If you go late afternoon expect there to be a line of foreigners asking to try samples of everything! Great ice cream! I had the chocolate chip cookie dough and there were tons of big chunks of semi-sweet chocolate inside. My gripe is that they only offer huge waffle cones and cake cones, not sugar cones. We could see them making the fudge by hand in the back. There are tables outside to enjoy your treats but no seats inside. In addition to ice cream and fudge they offer a variety of candies. The layout inside makes sense to accommodate a line of people and samples are offered to help you decide. Price is fair for the size of the dips...honestly I was expecting it to cost more just because we were in Celebration! read more

I came here during my stay at Melia hotel in Orlando. My bf and I dropped by after dinner for a treat before heading back to the hotel. Let me tell you that this place is full of sweets. From chocolate that you can take home to ice cream. When we walked in we can smell the sweets and the place give us a very Italian vibe. My bf and I shared a waffle bowl with 2 scoops. We had the caramel one and the fudge. It was pretty good. We also got 2 chocolate pretzel sticks to go. I would say I'm a fan of this place but their service could be better. Like I felt I was treated differently because I was Chinese. The family in front of us who was probably Italian or something had better service. If you walk anywhere near it, you will most likely be compelled to at least take a look inside, but if you are anything like me, it's time for ice cream! I actually haven't tried the fudge either of the two times I've visited Kilwins, but the ice cream cones and malt shakes are wonderful on their own. My usual routine is to have lunch at the neigboring Columbia restaurant and then hop over for some great dessert to go, then walk around the lake across from the store, looking at the turtles or just grab any of the benches nearby. Almost empty for a Saturday afternoon which was perfect. Wanted 2 pints of ice cream to take home but their smallest container is a quart. So purchased a quart.
